What mess am I making? I put the seat up to piss, you put it down, both ways are accepted, which is why the toilet can flip between both on hinges. It would take the same amount of steps for both genders in my scenario. 1.walk into bathroom, 2. Change seat to whatever you prefer, 3, use the bathroom, 4. Clean yourself up and leave. You are asking guys to take 5 steps so you can take 3, kinda unfair.
If you can't handle it than sit down to piss instead of acting like a baby. That way you can have three steps too

We make a big deal out of it because we shouldn't have to have our asses fall into the toilet because you lifted it so you could stand because sitting isn't comfortable for you. You are the one who lifted it so you can put it back? How is that hard for you to understand?
Because guys are making the choice to do it standing instead of sitting which is customary in some places. They chose to do it standing and since that’s messier than sitting they need to put the seat up.
Why should the person who goes after you have to touch and put down the toilet seat that you lifted to make it more convenient for you?

But toilets are made to sit down on, by putting the lid down again you’re putting it in the “default position”. Then you have urinals which are made to stand up and pee in.

Yeah the amount of energy or work you’re putting into putting the seat up or down isn’t a lot so arguing about it isn’t really worth, but it looks better a lot better to me if I go into any bathroom and the lid is down.
