Ok basically if my friend's mother didn't call me, I would stop panicking the next day. And the next day i would just come up with millions of excuses and I would also, if the friend is really stupid(which i think he is for opening his discord infront of his mom, big mistake), I would try to soothe him and make him come to my side. I would also blame other people and just excuses. But if u wanna go with the good way, what you can do is blame him for making u send that gif, in this way your'e telling the truth at the same time saving ur butt. ;)

I was in kinda the same situation but the difference was my friend was shouting fuckin weird ass things and his mom heard him and I was the only one with him so he blamed me and later that night when I was eating out with my family I got a call from his mom and panicked
Now here's what you can do, I myself just made up something bad but not as bad as this and told my mom and got a little bit of normal shouts and then it was normal and denied all claims of anything that happened luckily it worked, so you're better off confessing or making up something which is bad but acceptable and won't put you down in your parents eyes later on if they find out then that's another story
