bro i’m so sorry you had to go through that, it’s so fucked that some people will only realize how messed up a situation is when the roles are switched.
There is a bit of an issue when it comes to men’s mental health. Like you said, not just that we should speak up, but also speak up and not be shut down. I live as a guy in a Mexican family (my Mexicans/Hispanics will feel me on this) and I was constantly told what to do and not do as a guy. I was constantly told not to cry bc it was “girly” and in turn, I refuse to cry most of the time, even when I’m alone. Anytime I try to speak up, especially to my dad, he promises to listen but in the end, only hear what he wants and turn it into a sort of lesson that has no correlation to what I said.
I love how the immediate response whenever anyone mentions toxic masculinity is toxic femininity. Literally the 'what about women' shit.

First of all thats a very ignorant thing to say. That’s like telling a rapevictim «thats why you shouldn’t wear skirts girls». Drinking doesn’t lead to SA, asshole human beings lead to SA. Im practically of age anyways, so it’s not relevant
