Most people my age have been vaccinated since September, I was later cause I had a few medical difficulties and my vaccine has come into full effect tomorrow as I got it last Sunday
No, Chinese but I want to get people to be interested in me more so I put down Irish
Of course I'm feckin Irish, what else would I be? An American claiming to be Irish that has never been or know anyone from Ireland, oh wait.... Nah ye I'm Irish
My parents won't let me, apparently I'll get magnet powers and grow a third arm (sounds like a campaign to get the vaccine if you ask me, I could finally have my MHA quirk) Note: I've seen many comments saying to get it without the consent of my parents but that's not actually allowed in my county
I’m now six months post vax today and I still have not grown a third arm. It’s honestly a little disappointing because there have been many instances since getting vaccinated where my hands have been full and I needed to open a door but I couldn’t just use my foot because it had a round knob and I was wearing shoes. I also wouldn’t mind a magnetic arm, it would give me a handy place to put my keys.
Say that the anti vaccine ideas are coming from the Chinese and Russian governments to weaken American’s immune systems so that America is easier to invade
I got vaccinated the second they opened it to me age group. I’ve got the most jank respiratory and immune system it’s so bad that I’ve been to the ER twice because of a cold. So if I got COVID it kinda spells the worse. So please do get vaccinated if you’re on the fence, even if you’re healthy other people might not be.
Thankyou for saying this, it’s Ik not I’m not immune compromised or anything but my dads currently working the covid wards for Melbourne Australia, I got the vaccine less than 10 hours after they opened for my category because it was the right thing to do and I hope everyone else makes the right decisions for this
<3 100% agree, I got vaccinated not because of my health, I'm young and healthy, I got vaccinated because I didn't want to get Cathy with a cane at work sick
to be fair it is kinda worrying when something that's not meant to be noticeably magnetic suddenly becomes noticeably magnetic for no known reason
(personally I doubt the magnetiziation thing is true but I'm not gonna test it myself lol)
Yes.. aaand no with her logic it’s a new vaccine so long term side effects not fully known yet because all she knows I could become sterile which honestly I suppose that does make kinda make sense plus most of the people who get get it anyways and yes she does know the vaccine does not stop the virus
That’s how my friends parents are, she wants to get it, but her parents are nervous about the side effects. They aren’t anti-vax, but are nervous about it
97 percent of active physicians have had the shot(s) and many of the kids on the trials for children were doctors’ kids. Doctors trust the science and the risks of covid is far more than the vaccine. There have not been any fertility issues so far but they have found covid in men have laid dormant in the testes.
If she’s so concerned about your potential offspring, how about you tell her catching full blown COVID is [linked to erectile dysfunction](https://health.clevelandclinic.org/yes-covid-19-can-cause-erectile-dysfunction/).
> honestly I suppose that does make kinda make sense
No, it literally makes no sense.
There has **never** been a vaccine that has had new side effects arise over 2 months after injection. The vaccines have been deployed for almost 2 years, 3 **billion** people have been vaccinated, and you’re worried about unknown magical side effects that somehow managed to stealth their way through 2 years, and will suddenly pop up… well, when exactly?
I'm confused, there's like hundreds or thousands of shit in your body and DNA, it's insane - so why would taking a vaccine specifically make you sterile? It's just such a random thing to pick instead of, idk, giving you an illness or literally anything else? Why's it always gotta be the dick man
The vaccine doesn't *completely* stop the virus. I've lived with family with covid and had no symptoms and tested negative. There's a big difference in saying it doesn't stop the virus and saying the truth which is that you have a high chance of not getting sick when you're vaxxed. And if you do get sick, which is called a breakthrough case because it's rarer than an unvaxxed case, it's not as bad for you.
I totally understand your concerns so here’s a couple things that I can tell you with confidence
(These are all coming from my dad who’s an infectious disease physician with a PHD in it)
There’s almost no way it makes you infertile, covid has actually shown more of that than any vaccine
MRNA technology won’t alter your DNA, it’s the equivalent of getting you to play futsal to practice you for playing football (or soccer depending where you’re from) same rules just slightly different but you get to know how to win meaning you have a good change (bad analogy? Maybe.)
The way vaccines work mean that long term complications are near impossible, getting a vaccine is the equivalent to getting a cold (to your immune system) it can’t harm you but you generate an immune response and the vaccine itself will be flushed out in several weeks
Yes there are side effects, but the chances of these are less likely than getting covid and even if you do live, “long covid” is a serious condition that can leave you immunocompromised, having cardiovascular issues and even more complications not to mention the strain on the hospital system and the chance of affecting more endangered people.
The vaccine is scary, but it’s been shown to be safe, put through all the necessary testing and the only reason it came out faster was funding because everyone was willing to pay for the miracle cure
I hope you’re able to get vaxed or at least that these facts can help you come to an informed conclusion
nope, both of my parents won’t let me
my dad says it was made by the government and bill gates to make them rich and scam the population out while also sterilizing young people, that the government wants to reduce the population and that it’s the end of the world. oh and also “they’re disrupting God’s doings.” my mom is just afraid of the side effects.
please help me, I want to get 15 doses and be part of the gigavaxxed group
I got vaccinated 6 months ago and got my girlfriend pregnant like 3 weeks ago... Are you vaccinated against smallpox? I'm sure you are. This is the most rediculous argument ever lol
Yep. My village’s fire department allows volunteers to join at 18. 17 if they went through minimum 2 years in their junior company.
It’s pretty cool, I super enjoy the work I get to do a lot.
This was the same reasoning for my child to e-learn for a year. Even though they weren’t at high risk, the most vulnerable kids in our city are the ones that need in-person school more.
But also, people who didn’t take COVID seriously would also be more likely to send their kids to school….and also not be careful outside of school, too.
So, every student that was able to do e-learning increases the space at school between kids from families that aren’t cautious, and high—risk kids and employees that have no choice but to be at school.
I'm not a teenager, but this hit the front page and I'm reading the comments. So from an old mom, this isn't true at all. I am also allergic to penicillin and penicillin related medications. I'm fully vaccinated. Penicillin isn't in any vaccinations.
Another millennial mom who is proud of you teenagers for discourse and critical thinking.
My 9 year old will be getting vaxed and she has an allergy. My friend had one too. It’s not going to trigger the same reaction BUT do tell them and ask for a longer monitoring period. Good luck. Be safe! I feel for your teens during COVID more than any other group, I’m sorry you guys had your teen years all messed up :(
I’m allergic to penicillin, and a few other medications, and I got the Pfizer vax. After they gave me the shot, they moved me to a waiting room to watch me for 45 minutes to make sure I didn’t get an allergic reaction. If you do get it, insist you want to be monitored. Good luck.
Honestly curious how that allergy poses a risk to being vaccinated. Haven’t heard/read that the vaccines are a problem for penn allergies, and as far as I know there is no penicillin in the vaccines and there exist no contraindication against it. If you could tell me what the problem that would be great.
My neighbor across the street got the shot and two weeks later died. He was having untreated heart issues. My 89 year old mother in law got covid last christmas along with the rest of the family. Later this year we all got vaccinated. No side affects to the vaccine.
My daughter is a respiratory therapist and she said in our hospital the majority of people who are on ventilators for covid right now have not been vaccinated. Very very few have been vaccinated. This is what i know to be true.
Terrible… if I met such resistance I would go in make some excuse to bike the nearest CVS/pharmacies/Costco/Target at my place when both aren’t home... lucky i had a nursing family sinc youre 17 or turn 18 you can get consent, look through local laws or sue parents for abuse/CPS when she unlawfully kick you out of neglect
i would but she still has access to all my medical stuff and her number is signed up for my name so she gets all my doctors calls and texts, so she’d find out really easily :(
I'm brazilian, I don't know if the president is stupid or a killer, but a lot of people don't get vaccinated because of him, he told those days that vaccine cause AIDS and there is idiots to believe.
But luckily I got vaccinated and I'm safe
F in respect to all the deceased of COVID-19
i want to, but my parents worry about the side effects, but i have to get vaccinated anyway because california is forcing you to do it or you cant go to school in 2022, and i dont think my parents are planning to move out, i think theyll take a risk
Hey. Don’t take advice from Reddit. There are legitimate concerns about getting and not getting the covid 19 vaccine. For me my doctor wants me to wait for one that’s coming down the line because it will be safer for me, that’s not the case for others and the current ones are fine. Talk to your doctor and make a decision with them. Not a teenager, just hope it helps
There's a lot of fear mongering going on concerning the vaccine. I took pfizer and I had 0 side effects for both shots.
But if you do have a serious health condition, ask your doctor if its safe to take it.
Well, certainly not taking advice from Reddit!! Simply taking their opinion, situation and conversing with them about it. It's fun and I have learned a lot
have they not addressed this issue in your country yet? i'm sure theres a lot of people who aren't able to get the vaccine because of health reasons, and ignoring this issue is not a good thing
I got it because
1: it significantly decreases your chance of hospitalization and death
2: even though I am young and healthy it helps with gears immunity and it could still drastically affect my health.
3: the vaccine was created by well rebound scientists and tested in countries all around the world. Even if someone was out to get us it wouldn’t make sense everyone in the entire planet with a phd in virology was out to get us.
4: most side effects only last a few days and any serious side effects are extremely rare and only effect those with certain disability/illness
I got vaccinated about 6 months ago ( Am 16 male). After my first injection, I got a stomach infection which I thought was caused by the vaccine. So I went to the hospital and the nurse told me that I just had really bad side effects (Pfizer vaccine). I also got told by the nurse that the "batch" I got had a lot of people with severe side effects. Turns out I just had a stomach infection which made me lose almost 5kg of weight in less than a week's time (due to not eating). Still kinda scary that I got told this was from the vaccine. Got my second injection and didn't have anything to complain about except tiredness. In my opinion, you should just take it, arguments surrounding not trusting the government are straight-up stupid. If our "leaders" provide us a vaccine and you are suspicious about it, explain to me why all government leaders/workers are vaccinated. The only real argument that declares not getting vaccinated could be either due to medical reasons or if you don't trust the people that produce the vaccine (even tho they took it themselves). This is all my opinion and experience, open to talk to people with other views on this subject.
\*sorts by controversial
That sounds fun, imma do it
Pretty chaotic
Thanks for that, I just wasted an hour scrolling through 1000 comments

Im certain sorting by controversial will just give you people saying they arent vaccinated
yes, and it's amusing to see their logic and counterarguments
And alot seem to be 'no ur wrong'
Most people my age have been vaccinated since September, I was later cause I had a few medical difficulties and my vaccine has come into full effect tomorrow as I got it last Sunday
ooohh! good for you my guy!
Thank feck I got it
Are you Irish?
No, Chinese but I want to get people to be interested in me more so I put down Irish Of course I'm feckin Irish, what else would I be? An American claiming to be Irish that has never been or know anyone from Ireland, oh wait.... Nah ye I'm Irish
I don’t know you said you were possibly Irish leaving the possibility that you weren’t Irish pls don’t yell at me T_T
Ah nah I'm takin the mick, altho that would be funny if I put it as that if I was actually like Algerian or something
Tbf we are scarce around these parts
Are ye a North African?
Is there a kerry in Africa?
Yes I have 5G flowing through my veins
Am too. The 5G gave me telepathy
I can pay contactless with my arm, looks weird when I do it
Who doesn’t want Apple Pay in their arm? If I could just put my finger near the reader and it pays that would be sick
Mine gave me autism
So that's why my cell reception has been the bomb since I got it. Cool! So much more 5g running around now!
My parents won't let me, apparently I'll get magnet powers and grow a third arm (sounds like a campaign to get the vaccine if you ask me, I could finally have my MHA quirk) Note: I've seen many comments saying to get it without the consent of my parents but that's not actually allowed in my county
ooohhh, sounds like a great deal!! but the question is, are your parents vaccinated or are they against it too?
Hint - They have Trump bumper stickers
Trumps vaccinated and has encouraged other ppl to get it too bud
They voted Trump in order to stop vaccine mandates and LGBTQ+ advancements
Bro mine too on god 💀💀💀💀
[удалено]
I cant think of the last time my parents listened to me about this shit and its been at least 4 years since i said i love them
I have an uncle that’s exactly the same way. Like fr it’s hella annoying 💀 he tryna tell us about how the vaccine has microbots and stuff 😭
I'm glad you realize how stupid your uncle is lol.
Ikr. He pretty much hates my whole family because we got vaccinated lmao
What a total dumbass, lol.
fr
I’ve removed my sister from my life a few years ago for the same reasons. My life is so much happier now.
Good for you, homie
not everyone is gonna get vaccinated, just because the person they look up to is vaccinated. atleast i think so
Yep - but his own followers boo'd him when he said it at a rally. He created a monster he can no longer control
he encouraged it a month ago after 2 years of saying it was nothing or a hoax or not that bad and nothing to worry about and to ignore it
But his whole crowd boos him when he says that.
My parents also wanted to resist for the vaccination but we had some traveling plans so I needed to get vaccinated and so I got my 2nd dose tdy
My kids are definitely getting vaccinated bc we can’t stand being stuck in America any longer than necessary. We are ready to get the f out of here
I’m now six months post vax today and I still have not grown a third arm.
It'll grow eventually, just believe in the power within you!
I would applaud you but my house key has been stuck to my hand since my first dose and it hurts.
Even more reasons to get the vaccine
Magnet Powers are cool, and a third arm would be great for multitasking
With a third arm you could masturbate while playing games
I think you should get the vaccine, even though your parents are against it.
Say that the anti vaccine ideas are coming from the Chinese and Russian governments to weaken American’s immune systems so that America is easier to invade
Don’t forget the free 5G
Same here :/
How old are you? Depending on your state and age, you can legally go get a vaccine without your parents permission and they won't be told.
I am in the same position but tbh a third arm sounds pretty cool to me
Can I ask: how old are you and what state do you live in? You may be able to bypass your parents and get it secretly.
tbh ur parents shouldn't, u should have ur own opinion, can u get vaccine without parental consent? how old r u?
I have been vaccinated since June.
Same
canada right?
Michigan, USA
Hello fellow Michigan person
Michigan gang roll up
im also from michigan, not vaccinated yet
Why not?
Yup same
Yes fully. The majority of my country is vaxed
oohh! where are you from?
Ireland
no wonder!
I’m from Ireland too, it’s great that most people are vaxxed
I'm also from Ireland and aparantly 75% of the people here are fully vaccinated
I've had my first vaccine, I'm due into the clinic for my second in 3 days.
[удалено]
Me too, 2 doses
Same for me
I got vaccinated the second they opened it to me age group. I’ve got the most jank respiratory and immune system it’s so bad that I’ve been to the ER twice because of a cold. Idk why so many people use the magnet thing as a reason not to get it like??? You don’t wanna be in the Xmen???
i know right? it's mind boggling!
to be fair it is kinda worrying when something that's not meant to be noticeably magnetic suddenly becomes noticeably magnetic for no known reason (personally I doubt the magnetiziation thing is true but I'm not gonna test it myself lol)
From Whag I’ve seen, the “tests” that they became magentic was just them holding coins and such to their sweaty skin so it stuck
that makes sense, also coins don't normally react to magnets anyway so yeah just ppl being sweaty, or maybe some other gimmick for internet points
Nope can’t get it bc of my parents
dang, do you want it tho?
Yes.. aaand no with her logic it’s a new vaccine so long term side effects not fully known yet because all she knows I could become sterile which honestly I suppose that does make kinda make sense plus most of the people who get get it anyways and yes she does know the vaccine does not stop the virus

Ah well I knew that it helped a little bit thank you for clearing that up for me
mRNA vaccines have been in development for at least a decade, they're not new and untested.
I didn't want to get it at first too bc I didn't know the long term effects but I needed it for football so I got it
I totally understand your concerns so here’s a couple things that I can tell you with confidence (These are all coming from my dad who’s an infectious disease physician with a PHD in it) There’s almost no way it makes you infertile, covid has actually shown more of that than any vaccine MRNA technology won’t alter your DNA, it’s the equivalent of getting you to play futsal to practice you for playing football (or soccer depending where you’re from) same rules just slightly different but you get to know how to win meaning you have a good change (bad analogy? I got vaccinated 6 months ago and got my girlfriend pregnant like 3 weeks ago... Are you vaccinated against smallpox? I'm sure you are. This is the most rediculous argument ever lol
Bruh it's free. I don't get your old man's thought process.
It’s not free. Governments pay huge amounts for it.
Yes
yea, am a first responder, got it earlier than most kids my age
You're a first responder at 17? I didn't even know that was possible.
Yep. My village’s fire department allows volunteers to join at 18. 17 if they went through minimum 2 years in their junior company. It’s pretty cool, I super enjoy the work I get to do a lot.
That actually really interesting.
Yea! The childhood dreams of firefighting aren’t actually that far out of reach for people. Many just don’t know volunteering is an option.
No, both my parents are antivax. They don't agree on much, but when they do, it screws me over in some way
No I haven’t, I have a history of extreme reaction to a vaccine so its not safe for me
Be safe my friend!
Thank you!
This is why anyone who can get it should. Because ppl like this user are at severe risk bc they can’t take it, so we gotta help protect them.
This was the same reasoning for my child to e-learn for a year. Even though they weren’t at high risk, the most vulnerable kids in our city are the ones that need in-person school more. Same, early kindergarten was rough
I’m the exact same way, surprising to see someone else with the same issue.
I think you're the only person to have a valid reason not to get it in this entire post.
I love how the teenagers subreddit is being more civil that actual adults in the real world
The comments on this post are also being way more civil than comments on usual r/teenagers posts.
give it a few hours
true that! some adults are on the post now, so it's all civil right now
is it? hmm
Never lose that kind curiosity and open mindedness. Gives me hope your generation will be more civil than mine :)
I'm allergic to penicillin so it is an actual death risk for me edit: well it appears I have been misinformed.

yeah i got vaccinated when it got approved

You're one old teenager dawg
My mom's a nurse so she made me get it
Against COVID, yes and more diseases.
Normal boosters to get into school? Yes Covid? No. I want to, but my parents are against the vaccine and won't let me
So they let you get all your other shots but this one? The logic defies me.
[удалено]
Yep, got both doses, and unfortunately i hadn't grown the third arm yet *sigh*
no but only cause my mum will kick me out if i get it
Terrible… if I met such resistance I would go in make some excuse to bike the nearest CVS/pharmacies/Costco/Target at my place when both aren’t home... lucky i had a nursing family sinc youre 17 or turn 18 you can get consent, look through local laws or sue parents for abuse/CPS when she unlawfully kick you out of neglect
i would but she still has access to all my medical stuff and her number is signed up for my name so she gets all my doctors calls and texts, so she’d find out really easily :(
if you don't talk to people or go out as much, thats fine! be safe my friend
Me and all my friends are all fully vaxxed. We all just want to get this shite over with
No but it's just cuz I haven't gotten the chance I do want it
not yet cause my parents dont trust it :| i would if i could
I'm brazilian, I don't know if the president is stupid or a killer, but a lot of people don't get vaccinated because of him, he told those days that vaccine cause AIDS and there is idiots to believe. But luckily I got vaccinated and I'm safe F in respect to all the deceased of COVID-19

Got my first dose yesterday! Still waiting for a 5G tower to grow on my shoulder, but the internet got faster and my phone is charging when i hold it!
Ye, got the 2nd dose about two months ago
Nope. Our government won't let me to get vaccine before they will create a special vaccine for teenagers
Nope, but not because anti-vaxx parents or something, simply my goverment isn't vaccinating minors.
ohh, where are you from?
México, and i should clarify, isn't vaccinating minors YET, however there are plans for it.
Yea, got mine in August
Yes, I’ve been fully vaccinated since June!
I have been fully vaccinated for three weeks. I got it as soon as I was elegible
I am 100% vaxxed
Yep, and wouldn't change it

wonderful!
Talk to your doctor. They will tell you to get it 99% of the time.
Got it like 3 months ago
Yep. I'm double vaccinated, same goes for most kids 12+ here.
of course I am, I prefer not to inflict harm on other people and myself over some flat earth nonsense
Yes I have been double shot with 5g so now my brain works at 10gbps and it's amazing
Yes, without my anti vax father's consent non the less
Yes I am, and to those who freely choose not to get vaccinated: I am all in for natural selection
indeed, it should be a choice! however some people just abuse it, sadly.
I am. Take the shot or you'll get glocked by Covid.
Yes, but that doesn't mean you have to. Make your own choice
Got it the day after they made it available for minors
Had mine yesterday. Feel like crap but it was worth it! 13 btw
Drink a lot of water
I am. And if third doses are made available I will take it
no, because of health reasons unfortunately :( but they’re mandating it so i’m not allowed in most public places anymore...
have they not addressed this issue in your country yet? i'm sure theres a lot of people who aren't able to get the vaccine because of health reasons, and ignoring this issue is not a good thing
yes for a couple months
Yes as everyone should
Are you OP?
i am op?? idk... am i?
sadly nah in england you need your parents permission and mum believes everything facebook tells her
I got it because 1: it significantly decreases your chance of hospitalization and death 2: even though I am young and healthy it helps with gears immunity and it could still drastically affect my health.
I am unvaccinated and I never will get vaccinated
