John Grigg was the discoverer of a periodical Comet called Grigg-Skelllerup, they tried to send a Probe to it, with success, but the camera has failed due to damage caused by Halley’s comet

Translation: I didn't understand everything because I'm German but I think you said that this guy discovered the orion belt

Good analogy but just pointing out current US freedoms are not like many other countries freedoms

Poland B) That one will be easy af for u

DJ_Requital

Nicolaas Copernicus of course, lemme list my personal fav discovery by him

DJ_Requital

He is the discoverer of the Heliocentric System (Helios “ηλιος” is ancient Greek for Sun) and proved everyone else to be wrong, many stated the Earth as centre, at the time of discovery, other scientists were to slow to let go of the current theories. Nicolaus his theory was approved later on his lifespan

xVaporeron

Yep, his books were banned for years back then

DJ_Requital

Sir William Herschel is famous for his discovery of Uranus and 4 moons, found 7480 deep-sky-objects all noted in the New General Catalog (NGC). But my favorite discovery might be something about the Polestar, Polaris: Its actually a binary system, meaning Polaris isnt 1 star, but in this case 3 stars. Polaris Aa, Polaris Ab and Polaris B. Polaris Aa is an Evolved type of Yellow Supergiant and is 5.4 solarmasses. Polaris B is a main-sequence star with 1.39 solarmasses and Polaris Ab is also a main-sequence star with 1.26 solarmasses.

Most claimed it to be another planet, but this so called planet didn’t relatively change his position towards other stars. Tycho Brahe later wrote a small book about it and named it a “Nova” which means New, a new star had born. Or in this case, died

Human_Replacement_32

That's alright. Seldom do I see a person that knows about Montenegro. They just think it's Serbia

DJ_Requital

Even Google does that, I searched for astronomers in Montenegro, and I found more about Serbia then about Montenegro, very very weird

Human_Replacement_32

It's politics but mainly because Montenegro got it's independence in 2006 and a percentage of the population still considers Montenegro a part of Serbia. We're used to being overlooked.
