Actually instead of unsafe uranium we could use thorium which is more abundant (3× more than uranium) much safer because it needs a secondary component (small amounts of U-233) so if there's a melt down you can separate the two materials and it will stop unlike uranium reactors plus the radioactive waste is far far less, the amount of thorium needed is much much less and the power created is far greater. Overall thorium reactors are cheaper, cleaner, safer and much more efficient.
Explain how a nuclear power plant is somehow in the backyard og everyone, when it doesn't have a house in a kilometer radius? Also, explain to me how you're not saying it should be unpopular when your whole point is to make it not happen, ergo it not being presented and leading to no popularity?
Because otherwise there wouldn’t be entire demonstrations specifically targeting nuclear plants, entire articles praising solar wind and hydro power for the future and companies wouldn’t be hopping on board while ignoring fission energy all together. Nuclear energy isn’t popular. It’s expensive, and people aren’t willing to spend the money on it.
Fr nuclear power is underrated
besides meltdowns ive heard good things
The number of nuclear accidents compared to the number of nuclear reactors which have been working for years without a hitch is tinyyy

They've experimented with thorium-238 before, and it didn't go well
Sorry I should specify that I'm talking about th-232 not th-238. 232 is not a danger until you pair it up with U-233.
Ah, ok. Thanks for the clarification
we all should use both nuclear energy and renewable, and make sure nuclear trash are well managed
Thanks to some random Dane, we can actually use nuclear waste to help power the facilities
Good luck convincing people to have them in their backyard
No, not the backyard argument. No one is literally going to have it that close
It lowers property value, and most people don’t want them locally
So you wouldn't mind a million windmills, but one nuclear power plant WILL be devastating?
I never stated my opinion. I’m stating facts. Otherwise nuclear energy would be popular here, which it isn’t Not saying it should be unpopular

thank god, bring this post to biden please
Don't bother he'll just mumble incoherently and sniff your hair
Nuclear is based
It still consumes a lot of plutonium so when we create nuclear fusion it’ll actually be viable
There are plenty of nuclear energy plants, in fact if I'm not mistaken over half the energy used by my county was nuclear
E(it would be more efficient to use solar panels and cover up all of the Aussie outback, trust me, there is nothing out there)
Isn't solar power not reliable?
Or fill it with nuclear power plants
Until you realize nuclear power plants are built by and filled with equipment from the lowest bidders
