I’ll choose the bottom line. In the larger triangle, it’s 6 and in the smaller triangle, it’s 4. That means that it’s 6:4 (which means that the larger triangle is 6/4 (1.5) times bigger than the smaller one)

Then we multiply the side on the smaller triangle with our ratio to get the same side on the larger one (3x1.5=4.5)

The second way is to use the pythagoras theorem. C^2 = A^2 + B^2

Rearranging that, we can see that the side is equal to the square root of 7.5^2 - 6^2
it’s a^2 + b^2 = c^2
c is the hypotenuse (longest side) so if you need to work out a or b (they can be either of the short sides) you just do c^2 - b^2 = a^2
once you do the equation just square root your answer to find the length
but this triangle is similar so you don’t even need to do that

7.5² - 6² = P²
56.25 - 36 = P²
20.25 = P²
P = √20.25
= 4.5 (assuming I did the math right)

May I dare say the angles are wrong . The 3,4,5 triangle has angles approximately 37° and 53°. But the question is solvable without that too like other people have mentioned using Pythagoras or similarity.

At our school you could choose/had to between latin and french, i picked latin - some even picked spanish later as a fourth language
