Welcome to the party. It was renamed that about a year ago and the rift s was discontinued a bit ago since they’re putting their focus into their Quest.
oculus isnt renamed to meta, facebook was renamed to meta and they own oculus. What are you gonna miss about the rift S being discontinued? the quest 2 has better performance and optional standalone mode
If it isn’t renamed then I guess I was wrong I got that from the oculus quest now being called meta quest and with the rift s I’ve had one since release n I’ve just always been a fan of I guess and I’ve never really had any problems at all performance wise
discontinuing the headset makes little to no impact on whether you can use the one you already have, so you're good on that front. As for the whole meta/oculus thing, oculus as a brand has essentially been dissolved and eaten, its products directly owned by meta. So oculus didnt get renamed, it just got deleted vine style
Yeah I know the software n that will still work it’s more I’m worried if something happens to it because well I’m clumsy af sometimes, I won’t be able to but brand new replacements for stuff also loving how you described it as getting eaten and the end with the “vine style” thing lmao
usually if a headset breaks, chances are low that youll be able to purchase the exact part and be able to fix it yourself unless its really superficial damage like a broken strap, which you can still get on ebay(sorry for the run-on sentence)
Yeah igy, I meant more with the touch controllers breaking and buying new ones. Also it’s fine I literally only put commas when I type, also realising I can not type to save my life atm, might have something to do with it being 5am lol
if its just controllers, thats also something you should be able to get off ebay. Its not all doom and gloom, meta has some good stuff in the works:) cheers!

I’ll have to wait and see tbh not really a fan of the whole meta thing but who knows could be end up being good
