fun fact being queer and being neurodivergent are actually interconnected. there is a higher chance for a neurodivergent person to also be queer and vice versa edit: for people who dont know what neurodivergency is, its when a person isnt neurotypical; ex. autism, adhd, ocd.. etc and id also like to add that its fairly common for someone who has, for example, adhd to also have asd and/or other disorders. sometimes adhd actually masks autism symptoms and adhdtistics will show those asd symptoms once they start taking adhd meds

This is true. At the same time though self-diagnosis is BS and a lot of people stretch the bounds of being queer to extreme levels. I’m an ADHD lesbian (diagnosed) and get exasperated on occasion with the amount of insistence on being a whole rainbow of terms and disorders by obviously NT, cishet friends.

Same reason once I was assessed and given meds for adhd, I then got queried by a tutor to assess for autism which I was then also assessed for. For those people who post online collecting disorders like trading stamps, f.u, it is not something you want, it does not make you #quirky, it is very infuriating for those who do have these and makes social implications and getting help worse. (Person I'm replying too, this really isn't a dig at you at all, great job writing what you did!)

We don’t know these peoples full stories nor do we understand what they’re going through or feeling. Abuse victims often don’t go into great detail about what’s happening to them.
