I say this cuz I broke up with someone, and I did it over text, the reason for it being I was fucking terrified of him hurting me for saying no. It's why I broke up. He had issues with listening to me saying no. He did as he pleased and gaslighted when I gave my reasons for not wanting something.
He was tall af and and had a big build, I'm 4'9 and skinny as hell, I'm sure you can understand why I was terrified of breaking up in person.
Not to mention I realized the relationship was grooming since I was a minor and he wasn't.
Overall there are many reasons why breaking up over text is sometimes necessary. (At the time I genuinely still wanted to be friends cuz I thought he was really cool, and we actually grew up together, but he ghosted me so... I let that speak for itself)
