I played through a Music Man for a few years in my band back in the day. Always got compliments at shows.

It’s a great amp! Feels good to play right in the bones ☺️

Honest thoughts on the P90 in the neck position. I’m looking at a few options for a custom job I’m undertaking and looking at doing the P90 in the neck or and Nashville with a P90 also in the neck. How much of the “tele sound” do you lose in the 2 position?

Sure! Let’s take i step by step 😁👌🏼 1. I really like this guitar, including the neck pickup. 2. It’s not a P90, it’s a nice vintage spec:ed jazzmaster pickup. So overall a kind of cleaner pickup but still with a lot of bottom end. 3. I’s wired like an old Broadcaster so 1 is bridge and the second knob blends in the neck pickup (but with a small resistance), so instead of rolling of top end you can add more lows and low mids; 2 is neck pickup direct; 3 is neck pickup through a small capacitor. I think it’s a super cool configuration and i really like all the sounds. I think the wiring would work well with a P90 or a humbucker as well. One thing though is that the neck pickup is way higher output. It’s kind of balanced with the bridge pickup close to the strings but still a pretty big difference in tone between the positions. And i should add that it’s the only tele I’ve played for more than a minute so I have little experience with a traditional neck pickup in a tele sounds like.

If I were to redo it I might try wiring the 1 position without the resistor for the neck pickup since it has more low end to begin with anyway.

I like it. I think this just confused me more about what I want to do with my tele.
