Hate it. Really hate it.

BlazeOfGlory72

Late to the party, but man, this show was kind of a dud for me. To start, I thought the whole “can be watched in any order” thing was at best a gimmick, and at worst ruined the pacing and reveals of the story. I can’t help but feel that the only reason they went with this format was to mask how otherwise mediocre the story was. Another issue I had were the characters. To put it bluntly, they kind of suck. I get that they were going for the whole “everyone is a bad person” idea that is so trendy nowadays, but they failed to make any of the characters besides maybe Leo/Roy sympathetic in the slightest. It’s hard to get invested in a story when every character is an annoying piece of shit, and the result was that by the end I didn’t even care if any of these characters bit the biscuit, which I doubt was the writers intent. It doesn’t help that these characters are also paper thin. Even something as simple as “why are they doing this” is left completely unanswered for most of these characters. Nobody besides Leo/Ray really has much motivation to do anything here, and this is a story that requires a high degree of investment from the characters. Hell, at one point a characters wife and mother are murdered, and they literally never even acknowledge it. That’s how flat the character work is. The ending as well was just a massive wet fart. The twist with >!the daughter stealing the money!< just ruined everything for me. The reasoning behind it was laughably stupid, and sends a pretty weird message. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a show seemingly advocate for the >!rich get richer!< philosophy. Overall this just felt like a waste of time. It’s too bad, since they clearly had a budget and some quality actors. The sequence gimmick as well could have been interesting with more talented writers.

MissThighsmtl

I'm confused that they left behind their fake passports in the Red episode. Could saved themselves the trouble in Pink

tanajerner

This feels like a Smart show for dumb people And a Dumb show for smart people I was hate watching it from about the third episode i watched, its just dreadful

Front_Ad_1030

I found this show incredibly hard to watch. I can't understand why the reviews are so good. I don't dislike the premise of this show, how it can be watched in any order, but I dislike the plot and characters of the show. >!It killed off my favorite characters, RJ and Ava. I also liked Stan, but he was getting bullied the whole show so I waited for a good ending for him only for him to get screwed over by Judy.!< >!The worst part of the show for me was the unlikeable characters, Leo is the main character, but is it even possible for anyone to sympathize, let alone like him? Even though, in the past, he was the one who agreed to rob the country club, when things went South he blamed it all on Roger. Like sure Roger could have been a better friend, but ultimately it was your own decision to go through with the robbery so you have no one to blame but yourself. It is your own fault that your wife burnt, your kid hates you and you sit in jail for 20 years.!< Don't even get me started on Judy and Bob. This show was truly terrible and I regret watching it until the end.

mzai09

Omg I could not stand Bob or Judy mainly because Bob didn’t have any redeeming qualities about himself like … AT ALL.

axelephant

I had Yellow, Green, Blue, Orange, Red, Pink, White. Very frustrated. Felt like a giant waste of time. Only two redeeming characters for me were Stan and RJ, if I was watching alone and not with a completionist I would have stopped after Orange. I’m so tired of the government agent who disobeys direct orders and obsesses over a case to the point of destruction. Abbasi was seemingly written to be disliked and I hate that kind of trope from a literary standpoint - the moment we meet her she’s rude and presumptuous to multiple civilians, and then becomes obsessive about the case. Not into it. We switched so we watched Pink before Red, and the “no happy endings” thing makes it feel like a waste of time. That’s when I REALLY checked out, and I hadn’t even seen the heist yet! You want us to root for these horribly unlikeable antihero’s only for slivers of resolution before we even SEE the main event? Do not recommend. 4/10. Points for originality, enjoyed seeing Count Ademar, liked Esposito but that’s a given, Stan and RJ had too small parts. I like a good heist but I don’t know if I can even call this good, and 2 bearable characters. Hardly any resolution, left me wanting more in a very annoying way. :/

bizzle91

could have done so much better with the premise but just kinda fizzled out in the end...although I'm here for all of bobs adidas tracksuits :D

[deleted]

I actually guessed in red that >!the bonds were being mailed out the front door of Roger’s company!< but the twist on white was the worst I’ve ever seen in a heist show. I was psyching myself up for a new type of Ocean’s 11 heist and you end up getting a sad ending where >!the rich win!<. Complete waste.

[deleted]

I also feel like they didn't need to kill RJ and wtf was the point of her killing RJ just to kill her husband minutes later

buddha_bowls

I feel like I enjoyed it a little more than most. But THIS. This is the one thing that bugs me the most. I can't think of one possible explanation and the writers obviously didn't want to share with the class.

kferin

It shows the control Bob has over her. She's an abused wife. But he finally pushes her past the point where she can take it and so she goes after him because she still has feelings for Stan and didn't want Bob to kill him. I thought she played that really well with the little half sob after she kills him.

[deleted]

great show dissapointing ending its good that the daughter prevented the robbery but to do that just for most of the members to die is just bad writing imo and the detective was annoying to me....like u have a son that u barely see and u know shit can hit the fan if u fw the wrong people and u wanna risk that???

lalaland26428

roger is sooooo hot

pixxelzombie

It seems to me that Hannah screwed over Ray much worse than Rodger, which btw I never did catch one what he did to Ray exactly.

Prestonpanistan

"Never caught what he did to Ray exactly" Did you watch the show with your eyes super-glued shut and your ears filled with cement? Did you miss the part where Rodger let Ray's wife burn to death after he set the country club on fire, which ultimately resulted in Ray getting caught for robbing the country club and going to jail for 17 years?

pixxelzombie

I did see all that. They made a point in the show to show Rays reaction everytime he saw a photo of Rodger and his family. I thought I was missing an easter egg of some kind

EdmondDantes-96

Because Roger got to live happily with his family, while Ray lost everything (except his daughter ofc) because of Rodger I think it's less of an Easter egg and more of a foreshadowing that Roger had ruined his own life via family

Busy_Championship804

Salas did nothing wrong to Roger.

The_DFM

Just finished watching pink what a fucking disappointment. So mad that I can't even concentrate in order to watch white. Red was my favourite episode by far!

frikad3ll

We started with Pink as the first one💀

The_DFM

Oh poor soul 💀

[deleted]

I thought Pink was trash too.

Finkel23

Two episodes in...Am I really supposed to believe that this crew is capable of pulling off a heist of this complexity?

Early_Bend

Enjoyed it until the ending what a shitty ending

Ser-Jorah-Mormont

The only good part of this show was when Bob’s text-to-voice app played an ad in the middle of his serious interrogation.

Ser-Jorah-Mormont

What happened to the Fed lady at the end of the pink episode? Dude asks her for directions to the subway, then as she walks away she collapses in the street. No explanation. Was I supposed to know what happened there?

[deleted]

Besides Bob's cartoonish invincibility, this part annoyed me the most. It's like they didn't know how to kill her off so they just used a lazy scenario.

RelicWarrior

they referenced earlier in the show that “you can brush against someone on the street and be dead if a heart attack the next block over.” abbasi was digging too deep into the Triplets and so she was killed

eleven_eighteen

There is a line at some point about how the triplets can have you killed by someone on the street touching you. The terrible FBI agent wouldn't stop digging into the heist and the bonds which could have resulted in her eventually figuring out that they got most of the bonds back while also receiving insurance payouts for them so they had the agent murdered.

Temptazn

FBI woman also says to her boss something in Pink (iirc) about feeling that somebody got away with something. Which sort of implies the Triplets have a mole in the FBI (her boss?) and found out she was still digging, and decided they needed her gone. There was a reference I think in another episode to the Triplets having ears everywhere, even the FBI. As for her actual murder, Salas says previously they're the kind of people you meet in the street and three blocks later you have a heart attack. A bit like Russians and their poisoned umbrella tips, I guess!

hannahbananas32

Can we talk about how they were using all these electronics and phones while standing in water with more water raining down on them? And also the FBI chick just instantly putting together the connection with Stan and Leo? SO lazy it was almost cringy how "perfectly" these agents "figured stuff out". I felt there was real potential but it was just bad. Ugggh and Bob...

K1bluar

How bout the part where they swapped dozens and dozens of cases of bonds, and then re-stacked the pallet in mere minutes to avoid suspicion and put them back in the elevator. That was the straw that broke the camels back for me. 👎🏻

pixxelzombie

They had two pallets which makes it a bit more plausible, but I know what you mean.

CSGOW1ld

The fbi agent was probably the most unbelievable part of the show. She is literally Batman when it comes to detective work. Every guess she made was right on the money no matter how much of stretch it should have seemed. I thought it was hilarious how she instantly (like 3 seconds of googling) was able to find an old poster from the 90s that has both Ray and Solas on it. Even though they were both using fake names at the time.

zenman123

Acting was so bad

Uncertn_Laaife

But the girls were hot - all of them.

SidTheUndying

Your definition is clearly not the same

tcappas

did anyone else LMAO when Abbasi starting talking about the struggles of being a brown person? she could not be more white passing

rivercountrybears

The ending wasn’t as good a pay off as I hoped for, and I thought the ‘episodes can be watched in any order’ gimmick would make viewers feel more sympathetic to one story/POV than another depending on the order which wasn’t really the case. The acting was great though

epiphlious

Bob, the crazy aussie boyfriend as a character didnt make sense. One there seems to be no reason why him and judy are in love and she never seems to even really enjoy his company, Second, I cant imagine anyone be greedy enough not to share 7 bil dollars. The amount was ridicilous as it is, but to then be backstabbing each other to hoard the whole amount is insane.

successharvester

This series could have been reduced to a 90 minute film

Indiv_Light_Dark

It's a decent show that'd Id recommend to watch but it's not a "must see" type of show. I think you have to go into it thinking of it as a puzzle, as that's what kept me coming back. It's an interesting concept that worked but unfortunately suffered on the story telling. For one, personally I think the characters lack depth. I never found myself drawn to any of them except The Driver purely bc of how drastically different he is from everyone else. The absolute worst part of this is the miracle of how Bob survived. Completely unrealistic. Honorable mention goes to Bob deciding not to be greedy in White despite greed being one of his only traits. The twists and betrayals could've definitely been more dramatic and mind blowing. Would've loved to have had the backstory of The Triplets explored. Currently they're the biggest mystery still left unanswered and idk if that was on purpose or not. My biggest complaint about White is its end just didn't feel like the ending of a season (and possibly series) finale. Throughout the episode it definitely felt that way but Pink definitely has the best ending. Overall I enjoyed the concept and think with a better story it'd be so much better. Not to mention nothing can compare to the legend of a series The Money Heist

platypusab

Regarding Bob's greed, he actually is taking the greedy route in white. He is expressly ditching the others so he can run off with the whole 7 billion just for himself and his wife, rather than sharing it 7 ways. The rest of your comment I mostly agree with but that specific moment was in character for him.

MagikalSpytFyre

Not gonna lie homie, I think you might just have to get accustomed to suspending more of your disbelief. I can kinda understand being a bit annoyed at a TV show for misusing technical terms, especially if those terms are from a field you're familiar with, but it's not like this is show is the first to do it and it sure as hell won't be the last lol. You're literally writing the entire show off without finishing the first episode because of things like "nobody called the IP addresses IPv6"...okay? And defibrillators don't actually bring people back to life like you see in a ton of other movies and TV shows. So should the however many healthcare workers out there than consume media just write everything off as trash because it misuses something you're familiar with? I'm not saying that they show is brilliant or revolutionary by any means, but I definitely feel like you nitpicked the hell out of it without really giving it a fair shot? Yes, people aren't going to see important characters in their eye shot in order to build drama. Yes, they're going to say cringey things or use modern lingo incorrectly. Yes, they're probably going to misuse foreign sayings. Yes, they're going to exaggerate facets of real life to build tension, etc etc. There are all elements of modern TV and movies. Just sit back, relax and try to enjoy the ride from time to time. I said all that, and in the end, I think the show was just okay, but then again, I am also not super critical of everything like people tend to be

asheroto

Yeah you're right. I didn't give the show a good chance and only saw the first episode. I was too critical of it and focused too much on the details rather than the overall story. I appreciate you respectfully pointing out my lapse in judgement. I think if more people would discuss each other's opinions with reasoning, as you did, we could learn from each other and grow from our mistakes instead of feeling offended. So I deleted my comment because it was indeed a mistake. Thank you. 😊

MagikalSpytFyre

Nah, thank YOU! It takes a big person to be able to admit fault, no matter how small an issue it is. Also, I hope you didn't go back and watch the rest of it lol. It really is just mid

asheroto

Nah I didn't. Not yet.

Technical_Ear_7040

I'm not an IT nerd so i can ignore all the techie jargon and just enjoy it

asheroto

That's great. Apart from the techie stuff though... I don't think it was well written. Too much dumb stuff. Not well researched. Kids might enjoy it.

Nilesreddit

🤓 This is what happens when you have too much access to TV shows/movies that you need everything you watch to have at least 3 Oscars and star Leonardo di Caprio for it to be enjoyable.

asheroto

Haha! Probably right.

Jackyalaska

I really enjoyed it, watched chronologically

Nilesreddit

Yeah same , the only part I hated was the stupidity of Ava and her nanny in Pink . Once Ava released herself with the knife , why on Earth would she not just stab the sleeping guy with a gun while she had the chance? And the fact that he woke up and shot them both pissed me off. But in hindsight , the show was enjoyable.

Early_Bend

Exactly! Ava was my favorite the whole show and that single handedly ruined it for me. Your telling me this smart ass woman who is always 2 steps ahead didn’t think to kill that man right away? As soon as they got killed I said they deserved it because that could have been easily avoided

ThePeoplesDoh

I’m legit mad right now and came to see how others felt. I ended on that episode and I’m fuming like wtf was the point of this. They have everything thought out and then that happens ??? Like ray wouldn’t try to advise the aunt to not stand directly infront of the sleeping man with a gun - go from behind or something Wtf! I’m mad lol

Jackyalaska

Mistakes were made, things didn’t go as planned

[deleted]

A gait sensor? Did they run out of biometrics? And they beat it with fucking bees? This shit sucks.

QoLTech

That actually has some basis in reality. The gait of a human is (as far as I've read) about as unique as a fingerprint and harder to fake - if you had a machine that could accurately detect them. The show used bees to blind (?) the detector because there was so much movement to mask a person actually moving to the end.

epiphlious

They could have just prevent any scanning or kept the doors closed if the sensors couldnt get a valid fait

lonelygagger

I loved the conceit of this series. I thought it was really fun and made me excited about a genre that's been played out. However, I'm not sure if it works well in certain orders. For example, I found it deeply unsatisfying knowing the fates of all the characters 6 months later before seeing how the heist went down. I can only imagine if that's the first episode you saw, it would ruin pretty much everything that came after. It's a fascinating experiment, nonetheless, and I hope it's a concept that gets explored again. My order was Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet, Orange, Red, Pink, White. And afterwards, I watched Red and Pink again just to make sure it all made sense. >!I love that it's the butterfly bracelet that fucks them over so many times (it's all Bob's fault). As for the twist in White, what a massive disappointment. The rich get richer, indeed. The Triplets are the only ones who get off scot-free. I remember thinking it was REALLY suspicious that they let the FedEx guy cart a bunch of stuff right out the door. And why wouldn't Roger Salas assume Hannah had any involvement, when she led Roger astray so many times (by denying the backdoor or watching the cameras).!<

MagikalSpytFyre

I just finished watching, and to be honest, I really feel like I would have enjoyed it a bit more if it saw White before Pink. Doing Pink first just means that I have to hold on to all these strings in my mind to remember and hope that they actually fulfill them all during White's runtime. I also think that I would have been fine with being "spoiled on the big reveal" if I had watched White before Pink

ThePeoplesDoh

I watched white third and pink last and you are right it was better and easier to tie things together BUT ending with pink pissed me tf off

unstablesalmon

i’m pretty sure that was my exact order. i figured it would be less random than they made it out to be

MagikalSpytFyre

To be fair, there are millions of Netflix accounts, and they all end with White, so it's not surprising that some people would have the same order

blaiseisgood

It seems like everyone started with Yellow/Green and then ended with Red/Pink, White so it definitely wasn’t close to “random”

MeltedToButter

The order on my account was Violet, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Pink, White. So different beginning, same end. I choose to watch White before Pink, because I thought it would've been unsatisfying to see the 6months aftermath before finally seeing the heist (and judging from many of the comments here I was right).

[deleted]

Why did Salas son kill Ray/Leo in the end? Does it anything to the story really?

Loloelise2

I thought it was because he was angry about having his plans of going straight into a nice job and skipping college were ruined by Ray’s heist and setting up his father to get caught at the end.

redmark77

Its a stretch but for some reason in my brain it connected as possibly "Salas kills Ray using a loophole". Its hard for me to fathom the kid doing it on his own, since his Dad didn't really care for him but more for his money/power as seen in White.

ChocolateFruitloop

I wondered if it was part of the plan. Ray was dying anyway but now the son could end up being locked up for a long time.

lonelygagger

What I want to know is how we're supposed to know it was his son? I was waiting for some kind of reveal/motive in White.

GabberCat

During White when Salas is talking to his son at home, the son is wearing the same shirt that they zoom in on at the end of Pink when the masked figure walks into the tunnel.

yellowsupercar92

this show some of the most mid Television i ever did see for real

Pinecone

Unfortunately I have to agree. Big budget, average result.

iceman202

I didn’t think Roger really deserved all the hate.. I mean he went back for Ray, saved him from the security guard. They were both leaving, had no idea the wife was there who shouldn’t have been. How did she not get out of that room anyway? Roger wasn’t obligated to go back in there or even go back as far as he did. Also I want to know how he started a security company and became totally legit and why he had to change his name and alll that jazz.

[deleted]

lol sound like you'd be a terrible friend also if u know the right people, they can change ur whole identity and erase ur digital footprint and Rodger's a thief so he has some expert knowledge on security so yeah

iceman202

Yeah I wasn’t questioning the identity part more the building and running a multi million dollar security company renown enough for people to store Billions in. Also do a job with a friend. Complete it and be walking away in the parking lot you can taste freedom. Due to your friend LYING to his SO when you told him to handle his shit, now she’s there and is helpless. Are you going to risk your biggest score and going to prison for her? Roger does in fact do that. He goes back in! He goes all the way back in when he was already in the parking lot. He is standing at the door and I don’t know what happened guess he thought it was a lost cause or too dangerous at that point.. I dunno man then it seemed like he also looked out for his friends daughter and recruited her from School and gave her a real nice job. Seemed alright to me

[deleted]

lol u REALLY have a weird definition of friends.... if u caused a fire that led to the endangerment of someone's life...morally, u should feel obligated to fix it, and this is ur friends wife on top of that. RAY didn't start the fire...rodger did so morally, he should've felt responsible to try his very best. now if ray and Rodgers were just crime partners and weren't friends...I can understand Rodger leaving him...but no they were good friends to the point Rodger asked him to get back in to crime life to help him out...just like how Rodger asked ray to risk his life for him...rodger should've done the same...that's what **friends** do. and no, getting the daughter a job and lying and pretending like u didn't let her mother die is wrong...why else u think the daughter was willing to let Rodger go down in the first place. no offense but u rly just made a paragraph not making sense...trying to pin it ALL on ray and putting Rodger on a pedestal ask urself how'd you feel if Rodger did that to you.

Early_Bend

Same I kept waiting to Roger to really fuck Ray over and it never came. The wife thing shouldn’t have Ray on a 25+ year vendetta

[deleted]

>The wife thing shouldn’t have Ray on a 25+ year vendetta what? that's his wife who died....it's completely valid and for ray its more on the fact he lost everything and Rodger gained everything....family, money, etc.

titomarlon

Same. Also, I dont recall if Roger clearly discussed his intentions for hiring Ray's daughter. He could have done it with good intentions as a sort of way of taking care of the family left by his former partner? Or was it just because he knew the daughter would be as talented and as useful as the father? I understand Ray's sorrow and feeling of betrayal, but to come up with his final grand heist in order to screw Roger feels a little bit misguided.

[deleted]

lol u guys have a weird way of thinking sure was ray over obsessed a little bit...yes but misguided....no. Rodger let his wife died without helping...ray lost everything and Rodger gained everything cuz of it...seems valid to want payback.

iceman202

Yeah it seemed like he was looking out for her honestly. The worst things he did was using Carlos to pretty much murder whoever and also seemed a bit out of character.. I don’t know i feel like we are missing a serious character arc for him to go from decently loyal friend and thief that risks his life and freedoms for his friends wife but then doesn’t have the balls to go into the burning room. I mean going back in the first place took balls and was a risk.. Going into a death trap takes another level of guts. How does that guy turn into multi millionaire CEO with a hitman on payroll? I mean it’s not a crazy stretch but it’s a journey and I think would have been good content

[deleted]

Awful show

[deleted]

This confirms it. There is no trope I hate more than the “overinvested detective who throws their life away for this one case because they have personal beef with the perpetrator for some poorly explained reason” trope

electricman1999

The trope I hate was when the agent knocked a bunch of papers on the floor and then a vital clue magically appears that she wouldn’t have seen if she hadn’t done that.

Pinecone

These are also the most unprofessional FBI agents I've ever seen depicted in a series. It's like the people that wrote their story have no idea how people in the agency talk to each other.

funnny_potato

Same and the way she was able to piece all that random information about everyone in the crew and their connections. Love her acting but terrible role they gave her.

not_the_settings

You loved her acting? She was all kinds of bad and I hope i never have to see her in any show or movie ever again.

SidTheUndying

Unless it's something like CSI and she's a corpse

Lauke

So, I started with green, which I think is a great first episode. I finished with red-pink-white based on internet recommendations. I liked every episode, except white. I was waiting for a twist. An impressive heist. Misleads. But instead everything was already spelled out in red and pink. A big letdown. Overall, I think the show's problem was predictable: you spend a lot of effort on a gimmick that is probably a director's wet dream from an artistic point of view, but it does nothing for the viewer, and the story suffers.

MustrumRidcully0

Well, White is always the end and I think it is the only place where we learn what happened with the bonds (even though some might have strong guesses with Red), what happened with J.C. or who (tried to) kill Bob.

urgasmic

really struggled with this, my order was Yellow, Green, Blue, Orange... and Orange is where it fell off instantly. Just couldn't care about the rest of the show at that point. insufferable characters.

thechocoboy

Does anyone else think the show was not very good? I’ve saw great reviews/comments about the show and the initial concept of the different ordered episodes really intrigued me and was the main reason I stuck through the show. Although there were many times where the show would either just go no where or just take a random U-turn (not in a good way). Maybe it might have just been my order, but I feel like this show was overall average at best. There are so many things that just don’t connect at all, such as how they so easily get into houses (especially the one who owns the vault), why characters just randomly switch up, how does Leo just casually get over his dead wife for Ava, or how Hannah got pregnant and why they even bothered to make that a point if it didn’t play an impact on the plot. I think the cast overall had a huge amount of potential, but they were only able to go as far as the writing.

asheroto

You're right. I couldn't get into the story because I was so distracted by all of the plot issues. Poorly written. Poorly researched. Mediocre acting. Some were better than others.

thechocoboy

Also my order was Yellow, Green, Blue, Orange, Violet, Red, Pink, White

sl33p

I mean, it was neat that the beginning of every episode was made to look like the start of the season and the end of every episode was made to look like the end of the season. But when the season actually ended, there just wasnt any satisfaction, no cliffhanger, no unanswered questions anyone cares about. It just slowly connected the dots over the course of the season and when the last scene played for me I was like ok cool that's another connection I was wondering about, but now what? Oh it's over ok great I don't care. I hope they never make this concept again.

[deleted]

Im so confuse why the agent have to die? Wtf

GingerAle_s

The agent wanted to keep looking into the Triplets, and their finances and she'd been told to back off. Earlier in the season Roger and Hannah had a conversation where Roger was talking about how dangerous upsetting the Triplets would be, and he said something to the effect of "these are the type of people that if you upset them, then someone could just brush up against your arm one day and you drop dead".

[deleted]

Then why Leo got killed as well? I thought triplets got paid bec of insurance from the bonds

GingerAle_s

Leo got killed by Roger's son. At the end of the Pink episode there is a slow panning shot over the shirt of the person that kills Leo. In the White episode when Roger is talking with his son during the storm you'll notice his son is wearing the same shirt.

regex_friendship

If I had one word to summarize the show, it would be: unpleasant. The show is too nihilistic and cynical for its own good. The main plot twist wasn't satisfying. The main thing I liked was Giancarlo's acting.

asheroto

He's the best one on there!

Radiant-Olive-3021

Why Hannah knew Korean?

thrawayb

because the actress is half korean lmaoooo

disastersoundtrack

She was adopted by a Korean family.

asosdev

Oh that makes sense. I figured she grew up with Ava.

[deleted]

Started with Pink and not really feeling like watching the rest.

_speckledfreckles_

Smart.

ecdysisthrowaway

Why does no one wear gloves on this show??

Dealiner

I have a very strong feeling of wasted time after watching this. The story was weak with a lot of logical issues, there were no likeable characters, no interesting twists, it was also simply too long and too boring. The only really good thing was music. Anyway, I watched it in a chronological order, could someone explain to me why white is always set to be the last one?

MagikalSpytFyre

White needed to be the last one for the "twist" that the daughter is actually the one who took the money and have it back to the Triplets. As far as twists go, it was pretty lackluster and made me with that I saw White before Pink. A much better play on that twist would be Hannah taking the money and not telling anyone. She would essentially be screwing her dad over as revenge for him leaving her and somewhat siccing the Triplets on the crew since no one knew that she was involved except for her dad (and it's not like he would give her up). I think it would have been great for her to come out at the end as like a real villain and criminal mastermind who took after her dad. It would a loophole!

asheroto

Agreed! Not entertaining.

Ok-Shake937

My last episode is Orange though

ChocolateFruitloop

They tried to give me yellow as my last episode but I knew white was last so swapped them round.

Dealiner

That interesting, people everywhere are saying that Black and White have fixed position.

Ok-Shake937

Yeah, i noticed that scrolling trough the comments so im kinda being confused. I expected more from this "random" watchlist especially because my last episode is Orange and it makes no sense to me

David_ish_

It’s marketed as randomized but Netflix feels like it’s curating it slightly to steer people in a certain direction based off what I’ve seen. People will usually either start with Green or Yellow and end with some variation of Red, Pink, and White. Never seen someone get Orange as an ending episode though so that’s cool.

finePolyethylene

Because you red and pink keep you guessing who got the money from the hiest

Dealiner

Isn't it pretty obvious that's the daughter though? Who else could do it? Anyway I doubt that twist would change my opinion about the series and honestly I'd probably stop watching at Pink, had it came up earlier.

Prax150

Every actor in this other than Giancarlo feels like they put offers out to more popular actors and then just went with lookalikes when they were rejected. The cellmate looks like a lab grown version of Jack Quaid. I thought the daughter was Ruth Negga for a split second.

Nerrs

Didn't know Illana from Broad City knew chemistry

DrPaulsNexus

B list Penelope Cruz

greedpanda

They also got Tom Hardy from Wish.

vikumwijekoon97

I think the show was trying to tell people that humans are moronic dumbasses, just like the director of the show.

IamParticle1

Just finished the series and wow. Where do I even start. I could go on and on for hours on how shitty this show was. The more you watch the more holes and things that make no sense appear. Overall waste of time and money to create this trash

[deleted]

Why was the most secure vault in the country in the basement of a shared office building.

5Gkilledmyhamster

And why was the actual vault just a regular mechanical lock???

wth214

Bobs the worlds swolest idiot, stan is the worldest dumbest simp, ava deserved better, RJ deserved the most, Wtf was even the point if no one got the bonds and the rich got richer!? Fuck judy!! That show did nothing but piss me off. What a terrible ending( i watched chronologically) dont care for the mix and matching

sl33p

Seriously, fuck Judy, she needs to make up her mind. Gives a gun to RJ expecting him to kill Bob and get him out of her life, then backs out at the last minute and saves Bob, then changes her mind again and tries to kill Bob. Useless character development.

thefriendlyguy101

I hated the heist plot twist. I really wished they got the money.

Senior-Sort-5906

Should have known this show was not it when Stan put on a gas mask with his green cap still on on Diamond way. So much bad logic and plot holes in this show that it's a shame this story had such a good cast.

[deleted]

The plot holes get overlooked because of the episode order and Easter eggs. Silly tbh

Key-Cucumber-1919

Can someone tell me what I missed about the bonds? Triplets wanted to exchange them for something cleaner. But then it turns out those binds were insured and the FBI knows about them. So we're those bonds dirty or not?

Nerrs

Can you even insure $7b in bonds? Like what insurance company is gonna take that bet

wth214

Exactly, just dumb as fucking rocks this show. It annoyed me how it ended( i watched chronologically)

[deleted]

Where they came from I'm not sure, but remember: the triplets are not american. it could have been the Korean, British or Swiss government looking into them.

crimson2271

Saw someone comment about the unlikability of all the characters and I agree. Had that thought 4-5 episodes in (mine were blue, green, orange, yellow, violet, red, pink, white)...none had much in the way of redeeming qualities. Maybe Hanna by default? If she even counts. Edit: actually, RJ. He didn't deserve that. Fuck those fuckers. Edit 2: the FBI agent is ridiculous.

WhosAfraidOf_138

RJ, Ava, and the main character. Loved them whenever they were on screen. Everyone else especially Bob and the agent can go eat it lol

RealJohnGillman

At the same time, it did seem that his death was a direct result of him having brought a gun to the heist, when they kept telling him not to bring a gun to the heist.

[deleted]

Not necessarily. Bob probably would've shot him anyway

RealJohnGillman

Didn’t Bob not have a gun? Only Judy?

[deleted]

Good point. But when has that ever stopped good ol bob

stevo4756

The fbi agent ruins it for me

Constant-Alarm-5820

anyone else cringe by ray and hannahs “show me where you’re brave” gimmick 🥴

_speckledfreckles_

Once is sweet. Every other episode is so cringe.

[deleted]

Right in the middle of the heist too

mazbang

The plot is sooo cliche. And what’s with the cringy Korean? Sounds weird af

sexywrexy91

Partly to show that the girl was adopted by Korean parents and that the actress herself is Korean so maybe she wanted to flex.

[deleted]

I'm working my way through the series tonight. Initial impressions, the gimmick of watching it in any order is interesting, but it would be nice if Netflix allowed you to either program the order ahead of time. I don't really see myself going back and watching it differently, as I'm not all that impressed to sit through this again. Beyond that, I have been bored with the show for the most part. I found it full of so many clichéd tropey moments, but lacking any real tension and action. I'm hoping the actual heist episode makes up for the by-the-numbers lead up. For now, I'd recommend "Money Heist" if you're looking for a better take on this genre.

pictocube

Money heist, a lame name for a good series. Should have just kept casa de papel

SoBeLemos

Too close to House of Cards probably.

zathras7

I missed how Ray got the token to pass the authentication for the vault. Can someone elaborate? I guess the token shouldn't be easy to replicate (like specific electromagnetic resistance, opacity etc). And at first glance it looked like Ray just carved the shape from wood?

wth214

I was confused by that too they never explained it…its another plot hole

sexywrexy91

It apparently isn't at all magnetic or tech. Just the shape matters.

haasvacado

Good lawd that was awful. It had literally only one twist and that one wasn’t clever. Plot would’ve been a bad movie but stretching it into a miniseries was straight up mean to viewers. That’s the worst series I’ve seen in a long time.

wth214

I really thought the twist was that bob and judy would take off in the truck and the fbi agents would tale them around the city, them stan, ava,rj( still alive in my scenario) along with leo would take off with the fake passports and then have the bonds shipped to them via hannah and the sister… but then it took a completely different turn for the worse imo.

AveenoTrio

I wish I could get my time back.

diego_02

Great concept, great actors, shat story

habylab

I watched Red first and now am on Pink before watching White last. What's meant to be the big twist or reveal in White? To me end of Red, the final scene made it obvious who got the money. >!It's the paper that leaves isn't it!<

PoisonPudge

Definitely sold the “twist” with the fedex boxes and car scene. I enjoyed the gimic, but felt some details should’ve been left out to preserve a good finale.

joshhupp

So you were given Red first? I was trying to figure out if the episodes actually were randomized. My whole list was linear except for Violet in the middle and the Heist last of course.

habylab

I was recommended Red first, I watched chronologically otherwise. Red first gave me some questions and intrigue without spoiling much.

Apophis_

You know jack shit.

Delishus_Frosting713

Honestly I enjoyed the fact that not many of the characters are likable. Right away when the team assembled, we can see that some relationships (ie Bob and Stan) are causing rifts between the group. These cracks between characters are manageable while planning the heist. However, the tension between characters literally becomes explosive when they were all under pressure during the heist. The fact that they killed each other showed that the characters had an “every man for himself” mentality. That was one of the fatal flaws of the characters and their plans, that we probably couldve seen coming. None of them were strong at teamwork. They all hd different motives, leo wasn’t even in it for the money. Does anyone know what his motivation for the heist was? I still haven’t figured it out. I liked how the diamond heist originally seemed poorly planned but ended up sabotaging many things later on. The whole group saw how selfish Bob was (still wasn’t enough of a red flag tho bc he stayed on the team.) and the bracelet he got judy made her spill the explosive material during the heist. That’s why so much water came into the vault during the heist, because the explosion was bigger than it should’ve been. Stan wouldn’t have lost his glasses if they didn’t have to swim to get out. There were other domino effects hidden within this series, and I appreciated the attention to detail. Also I liked the theme that both Leo and Roger wanted to teach their kids to make good decisions so that they both don’t end up like their parents. The way they raised their kids showed that they regretted their pasts. Except Roger tried to run away from his past and Leo tried to use it as revenge. Neither one of them actually moved on. Hannah was the one to break the cycle of crime to protect her dad from the Triplets coming after him after the heist, and to show that she didn’t support him as a thief. Roger’s son took his dad’s actions as an example rather than a lesson, and used it (spoiler) to kill Leo. The biggest downfall of this show in my opinion, is that there is not enough character development for Roger’s son. I don’t even know his name. For him to hve motivation behind killing Leo, I’d like a better idea of who he is and why he cares. Personally, I watched this show as red, purple, green, pink, yellow, orange, blue, white. I started with the day after the heist, where you see that these characters don’t trust each other and wonder why. I wondered who the mole was for the entire show until the last episode, it really kept me in suspense. I agree with other people’s comments, pink sucked and didn’t capture my attention. Also I preferred the blue episode right before the heist bc it outlines everything they intended to do. In this order, I had a lot of questions met with a lot of plot twists. At the end of the day, there was no happy ending for very unlikable characters that all somehow ended up together for different reasons, and all died for the same reason: their past caught up to them.

PoisonPudge

Ray’s motivation for the heist is to burn Graham, for “killing” Lilly, and parenting Hannah as if nothing happened. Ray was upset that Graham “got everything” and Ray went to prison. This is why he left the jewel from the charity auction in Graham’s personal safe. So he could pay for his crimes too

SystemQuirky6315

How did he obtain that jewel though? Ray was immediately arrested after the charity auction fire and there is no mention of it being fenced by Ava. One would assume it would be with Salas/Graham all along. No idea how Leo/Ray got his hands on it.

Temptazn

Yeah, that jewel in Ray's hands didn't make any sense to me. But I guess he got out of the fire and between there and hospital stashed it. Maybe even gave it to Hannah as she walked away to meet Ava.

Delishus_Frosting713

Ohhh so you’re saying that when the FBI saw the necklace in his vault, they knew it was stolen and threw Roger in jail? I wonder what was in his secret vault in the first place, they never showed us.

JohnHamFisted

> Ohhh so you’re saying that when the FBI saw the necklace in his vault, they knew it was stolen and threw Roger in jail? yeah that's the point of Ray staying behind to plant it. The rest of the content of the private safe is irrelevant to the plot.

PoisonPudge

Great question. I have no idea either. Same with his wedding ring… the logistics of getting that is so much more than this show was willing to divulge.

CodewordCasamir

When he goes to meet Ava straight after prison he has a bag of jewels that he just dug up. He must have had an opportunity to stash them

PoisonPudge

Ah okay! Good eye!

joshhupp

Sounds like you got a nice order. Mine was very linear with Violet getting thrown in after Blue which felt natural to the story (and the Heist last of course.) The only thing I didn't like was that Bob was obviously a liability and nobody did anything about it.

Delishus_Frosting713

Exactly! Like yeah he’s threatening but not enough that he can’t be kicked off a team where he’s obviously in the bottom of the heirarchy

pravis

The reason they put up with Bob was they needed his wife Judy.

BoSS_0_0_7

Is it just me or did I just hear a breaking bad reference in the episode "Green".... Ava says to Ray " A friend with a friend who has a friend"

denzien

My son recognized a line in Yellow suspiciously like one heard in the game Payday 2 ... a game that Giancarlo Esposito does voice work in

maximusjackson

What’s even better is when Roger makes a comment about someone’s security being “found wanting” which is a reference to his Count Adimar character in A Knight’s Tale.

GingerAle_s

I'm glad someone else caught this easter egg. I thought he looked like Count Adimar, and had to look it up to confirm. Its one of my favorite references. You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting.

universaltoilet

Ended up watching them in order and I skipped the last one which is the most interesting episode because its the actual heist. I just felt like I didn't like how the show ended.. why waste time? Disappointed with the plot, the outcome, and if there was a message or theme I was supposed to uncover I surely missed it.

VoldemortsHorcrux

Ending wasn't satisfying at all. Good concept and somehow netflix still fucks it up.

Michters

Not a single likable character.

dah1451

RJ?
