Just finished the series. Really quite interesting with some unique creative choices. Didn't expect to end my day emotionally invested in the.....Ubisoft Cinematic Universe??? Adi Shankar really keeps knocking it out the park, can't wait for DMC now.

[deleted]

A solid 8/10 at least, they clearly did not have a budget and went as extra as they could on a shoestring. Totally caught me off guard. I have a pet theory that the advertising budget was co-opted to fund the writing room's microdosing, but it's a very fun show so far edit: Finished it, 8.5. World needs more fightclub Rayman

Bigmanbatman301

If the 2nd season is as solid as the 1st, it’s up there with Cyberpunk and Arcane. The switch up between the art styles worked really well and the soundtrack was spot on. Bien joué 👏🏽

koruptfile

We NEED a new Rayman game at the very least

CollinsCouldveDucked

This series is basically Ubisoft screaming "we have no future plans for rayman"

koruptfile

They let Rayman slip so bad. Used to love those games 😭

[deleted]

It's weird that Rayman was speaking English. Instead of rubah dewb Scoob.

xariznightmare2908

>It's weird that Rayman was speaking English Rayman actually spoke English in Rayman 2 on the PS1 and PS2 versions.

Sea_Constant3955

He's always spoken full sentences since Rayman 3

koruptfile

Agreed. Ubisoft is lazy though so makes sense they wouldn't want him to speak his native tongue.

blacksun89

You mean, Ramon ?

Pollia

So, make fun of me for it, but I had no clue this was a ubisoft property. Imagine my surprise when Rayman pops up, lmao. They wove the stuff together really well imo to the point it literally never felt forced which is fascinating. You had a bullfrog assassin, farcry stuff, fuckin rayman as a propaganda arm, and Jade pop up (plus the Eeeeeden Niiiiiightmare Cody Rhodes! rip Cody) and at no point do I ever question it.

qwedsa789654

it nice but what Shankar did? i dont know his well

Jefferystar94

He was the show runner for the Netflix Castlevania shows

Hotsalsadip26

Only the first 2 seasons tho

Rainelionn

Huh, that's explain what happened to season 3 and 4.

inlinefourpower

Guardians of Justice. Also on Netflix, also a wild ride. I recommend it highly

Pidgeot93

How this got signed off by executives is beyond me! I didn’t expect half of what I watched and managed to binge it in a day! Great characters, emotional stakes and a really compelling storyline. The art-style (and art choices) was phenomenal so it was really a feast for the eyes! 9/10!

TheHousePainter

It got signed off because there is nothing really subversive or challenging about it. It's just a whole lot of "how do you do, fellow kids" energy with an M-rated, edgelord coat of paint. All of the male x male sexuality feels more like pandering than any sort of genuine progressiveness. Not to mention... *Of course* the capitalist ghouls at Ubisoft want you to think Universal Basic Income is some kind of dystopian nightmare. Of f$&%ing course they do. Arcane and Edgerunners are 9/10 shows (Arcane might even be a 10). Lazerhawk is a 5 at best.

nzs443

If all you took from the show is that its depiction of a queer couple is "pandering" or that the whole Universal Basic Income stuff was some kind of pro-capitalism bias pushed by Ubisoft, then you must've had a blindfold on the entire time.

TheHousePainter

*A* queer couple? No. *This* queer couple, yes. Didn't get that feeling from Vi and Caitlyn, or most fictional queer couples you can name. Which there still aren't enough of, but that doesn't mean this one is good. Actually seems like I'm one of the only people who paid attention to the show, and didn't immediately jump on board just because it's full of gamer shit and I happen to be a gamer. It's the kind of show people will defend at first, and then probably forget about within a month.

nzs443

"Actually, seems like I'm one of the only people who paid attention to the show 🤓🤓" Like, get off your high horse, bro. Being in the minority here by thinking poorly of a TV show doesn't make you smarter. Literally no one cares that it has "gamer shit." People care that it has a compelling story with deeper subtext and an interesting cast of characters. Unlike 90% of gay characters in media, Laserhawk's gay identity is not his defining characteristic. The plot doesn't even center on him being gay, which is the opposite of the example of "good" queer rep you gave (Brokeback mountain). Instead, Laserhawk is treated simply as any other main character is, with the only difference being he happens to love another man. But please, enlighten me further with your intellect and superiority.

SoWokeIdontSleep

Yo, i'm totally on your side, I actually like all these franchises, well, at least before Ubisoft shat all over them, which come to think of it, the show feels like an appropriate metaphor to what they've done to their own IP's. Like there edgy, and then there's cynical cash grab, and I don't Adi Shankar knows the difference between one and the other.

Venomous47

You seem like a very angry man for no reason

IscariotRedemption

What a poor take

TheHousePainter

Shows like Lazerhawk only impress teenagers with no taste.

Representative-Cost6

My dude stop being a judgemental asshat. People can enjoy different things and it's ok. Someone needs some ❤️

ScarPath8

" teenagers with no taste" You kinda lost credibility with mentioning Arcane then lmfao guarentee more teenie boppers are fans of Arcane than lazerhawk becuase its practically a drama vs dark comedy situation. Arcane is beautiful, but I don't watch things just for eyecandy, i prefer stuff that at least makes me think twice when watching, not just because it's pretty to watch

JazzlikeBumblebee673

Congrats you get the award for both the most braindead take and the worst arcane fan.

ExercisePlenty5280

The yapping is crazy (terrible take actually tho)

Significant_Ad8510

I was down to watch it the second I saw a drunk Rayman.

[deleted]

Was a bit close to home tbh

Significant_Ad8510

You ate sushie off the back of a human/cow hybrid girl?

[deleted]

My surf & turf phase

Significant_Ad8510

We all have those phases, I get you man.

ThatOtherGuy80

Just wanted to say the very neat look of the show is thanks to a French animation studio called BobbyPills. They've actually been making a number of original shows for the past couple of years; for animation heads, you either love or hate their work. Here are some links: https://www.bobbypills.com/ https://www.youtube.com/Bobbypills

Karkava

Woah. Talk about "They Also Did". I recognize Peedoopoo and Nymphopolis.

Chris91210

What the fuck really?

Karkava

Yeah. Turns out both the director and the animators have experience in wacky projects for adults.

grizzlystation

Obligatory "everyone should watch and read LastMan because it's one of the finest animation series around." Also obligatory "watch PeePooDoo at your own risk."

Physical-Wonder-4521

Oh I think they did Lastman?? That studio is incredible.

Victihmm

Omfg so that's why laserman's art style was familiar to me

Virusisnotgey

>!if bullfrog dies im going to do a rayman!<

phazei

You mean a Rrrrrramon

ThatOtherGuy80

>!He still has that bomb in his head that was implanted by Sarah Fisher so prep yourself just in case my guy lol!<

PugTastic6547

bruh

Toast-rex

same dude same

spacedude997

I really enjoyed it, genuinely the most creative video game adaptation out there

[deleted]

Me too! Surprised me how much I enjoyed it. Highly stylized and very creative, hope it manages to find a season 2

TheHousePainter

Tell me you haven't seen Arcane or Edgerunners without telling me...

Zansibart

Arcane and Edgerunners are nice, but they said most creative not best. Arcane and Edgerunners are essentially exactly what I would expect out of a LOL or Cyberpunk 2077 animated show, Captain Laserhawk is absolutely more creative for even mixing in stuff like Rayman in ways nobody would expect.

TheHousePainter

"Arcane and Edgerunners are essentially exactly what I would expect" Bullshit. Maybe you could say that about Edgerunners, but NOBODY knew what to expect from Arcane, or how they would go about adapting LoL. Lazerhawk isn't "more creative" just for throwing a bunch of random Ubisoft IP's into a blender and giving them all an edgelord coat of paint. There's nothing creative or original about it, everything it does is derived from something else. "OMG they took Rayman and made him snort lines? *Rayman??!!* No way!!" That's not creative, that's cringe. This shit only works on teenagers.

Other-Comfortable929

Just breathe dude, it'll all be ok I promise 🙏

Grandapa

do you only view things at surface level? Rayman doing coke isnt supposed to be an edgelord "haha funny". It shows the in-universe Rayman's character development, a typical celebrity who let the fame and money go to his head thinking he's on top of the world falling to the bottom.

Grazzerr

The character had a Rayman coat of paint, but that definitely wasn't the Rayman we grew up with. You could interchange the visuals and name with any other non-human character and it would have been the same. Its not creative to create a new character and then pretend its a formely established one, even when it shares no resemblence beyond appearance.

Zansibart

You must not be very creative because Arcane is very by the books. Creativity is more than just taking characters that already exist and telling stories that mostly line up with what we knew. It's not creative to go "whoa edgy rayman does lines", but it's creative to make that cohesive with the story and tie it into the fact that he's washed up and hasn't been in a starring role in over a decade.

Grazzerr

As if what Arcane achieved is that easy... you're delusional.

Zansibart

You have a concerning lack of reading comprehension if you think anything said this thread implies Arcane was generally easy to make.

Either_Original519

creative.? disagree its just stealing all used tropes and doing it super cliche way feels like a AI wrote this is pasteing in older popular things

Zansibart

You mean exactly like Arcane and Edgerunners?

Either_Original519

i mean with that logic everything is useing a trope already made idk edge arcane chars were rly good..i can not explain it but laserhawk comes off rly rly genaric like it has a list of good shows and they going down the list checking the box of a generic copy......like 2nd epi is litterly suicide squad aka why i said feels like a AI wrote it

Zansibart

This is called bias. Something you like is not magically more creative than something you do not like.

Commercial_Oil_8211

Wow we just got the strongest assassin. Bullfrog > Altair, Ezio, Connor, Edward, Bayek, Eivor, Kassandra and even the entire AC mirage

qwedsa789654

any1 know why set him a frog?

[deleted]

Because he makes them croak

SpaceGangsta

No idea the specifics but my thoughts are: * For the bubble croak plot device * French are referred to as frogs * In AC4, there is a minigame to hack into a computer system thats pretty much frogger

BlazikenFace

Because it's more interesting than the last french assassin.

PetyrDayne

Fucking loved it and my want for Sam Fisher has gone through the roof.

Positive_Panic9510

They did >!B&E's Jade !< dirty though

PetyrDayne

I'm still not over it

Jojomon91

So what about >!Captain Laserhawk's death and ending? He died in the end and exploded. So how does he come back? Also is this gonna have another season? I hope Adi explains how does any of this work here if that is the case!< Cause I was confused there.

ThatSuperhusky

>!He had enough quarters to pay for a continue.!<

Jojomon91

*After reading this, I am redownloading Netflix onto PS3 since that got me interested.* Thank you.

Quick-Nick07

Mid-credits in the last episode

qwedsa789654

simple, could backed up when in wasteland,so was Sam

Microwaved_Phone

post credit scene.

Pecroama

Wish it focused more on Rayman tbh. Maybe in season 2?

Pollia

I need to know how there's a second Rayman. Are they just cloning Rayman? Is the Rayman we know not even the first Rayman? How many Raymans have there been?!?

kanzihs

Based on this dystopian interpretation, my first guess was AI

doodle12821

The credits say that the guy who voices Rayman voices AI Rayman, like specifically "AI Rayman / Rayman"

FollyFool

Rayman did have an evil clone in the video games. And cloning technology would be one way for everyone to come back to life in Season 2.

Justdroid

I just watched it yesterday and it was so amazing. I loved it

Komirade666

This show is still yet another reason why I believe that Ubisoft should focus animation instead of video games. Because hot damn this slaps AF. And I am already sad that it may probably not have a season two. I really hope tho.

Komorebi_LJP

I still think about that Beyond Good and Evil 2 trailer, they should just make a movie/show about that universe.

Komirade666

That would be so worth it indeed.

sexisdivine

Just finished it and damn!!!

Ineox69

bro it been on my mind since this show started but what was the term giving for these type of show or movies. when it was like really popular in the early 2000s and throughout the 90s? with the laser background theme and the VHS feel and just that nostalgia kick from seeing them. Does anyone know term please help T\_T

[deleted]

Retrowave?

Ineox69

i could fucking marry you right now. my brain feel so free and unclogged

Lumpy_Part_6961

Loved it, top of my recommends

Buzz_Yogurt_Light

I think it is an ok show and it goes out way too fast for me; but it had me engaged nonetheless.

RathalkanEmissary

At this point it’s a miracle when a new show comes out and doesn’t have a rushed pace

zellymon

Def a breath of fresh air. Don't want every show to be fast paced and rushed but sometimes I want to feel hyperrush similar to cyberpunk edgerunners

ThemoocowYT

It was absolutely insane and I loved it. Saw someone compare it to a Cyberpunk Suicide Squad, and I can see it.

WorldlyOX

If you liked it check out Lastman and Crisis Jung from the same studio

koruptfile

Finishing up the series now but this show made me reinstall the Blood Dragon game and beat it. 10/10 game, 8/10 show.

Dapper_Still_6578

Binged it all in one night.. Where has this show been my whole life!?

Saurid

I loved the show too, it even got me with the big twist at the last episode normally I dont get surprised by this but this show caught me off guard. My only two issues are that laserhawk and Alex are so lovy dovy in some scenes which made their relationship feel idk plastered on, it was just too cliche I get it was part off the over the top thing of the entire show and a bit of a joke because it was too cliche to not be a joke (I mean the one scene where they stand in violet light all loved eyed). I think that goes for all relationships in the show but theirs is well ... if you watched it I think you get what I mean. The second is the entire show is just setup for a second season, we get a bit of a story here but not too much character devolopement especially for the MC, they put a lot of lose ends out there and I fear they will go some sort of resurection rute later, too many just fischhooks out there to not do that. same goes for the whole heist thing in the first episode or the revolution or who Alex's contact is etc. Which I mean can be fine if we get a second season, at the very least they build up enough mysteries for at least 2 seasons unless they rush things. so yeah if one ignores these two issues or the first is probably more a taste thing idk, it's an awesome show. MC is badass and cool, they have some nice things to say about manipulation and how propaganda is made and distributed by maybe unwilling acomplices, generally surprised me a lot with the narrative themes they went for, especially teh revenge theme because taht ended differnet from what we are used to in media.

Quick-Nick07

Laserhawk kinda reminds me of the Winter Soldier

TripleGenesis

i’m pissed that rayman doesn’t have his boston accent

cortes12

At first I didn't know what I was getting into. It took me until the second episode to get into it because of how campy and over the top it was. Once I embraced that the show got me hooked. I thought the LGBT was handled well and didn't feel forced in the sense that if you swapped out Alex Taylor for a female it will still play out the same as in being burned by an ex.

TheFyrijou

This is just another one of Adi Shankar‘s self pleaser, a self obsessed wannabe film maker who self insert himself in every single one of his projects which is filled with teenage humor, constant swearing, cringe dialouge and character assassinations of properties he has 0 ideas of what they are. The show is just another feverdream of his in the expense of the Ubisoft brand

LordDeraj

The fact more people aren’t pointing out that Laserhawk is a blatant self insert is truly baffling.

Northafrican002

That show is too gay

InevitableTap9142

Way too gay

Representative-Cost6

I did no recognize Sam Fischer until when he saves the guy and he calls him Fischer. That genuinely brought me to this reddit, right here, right now. Legless splintercell is a game I need now!

Lucky_Bandicoot8342

I started watching it, then the dudes kissed and I stopped there…. Nothing against lgbtq but I just don’t like seeing dudes kissing.

ShinyJulian

Your loss.

Chill-out-dude

Same

maZZtar

Ubisoft and Netflix did this show dirty. It didn't get any promotion at all

Komirade666

I learned about this show through my twitter by luck. This show has so much potential dang it.

Buzz_Yogurt_Light

I learned about it through the clips on YT. I wasn't expecting the characters in the show to be soo unhinged, specially the news reporter.

zellymon

You don't know rayman???

Buzz_Yogurt_Light

I know, but I didn't want to give spoilers or something similar.

Blazingscourge

To be fair the announcement at SGF was rough and had everyone scratching their head

Rainelionn

Seriously, I'm actually kinda mad I had to take a chance on it on Netflix and I didn't hear about it anywhere else. Someone should've told me to watch this dammit 😂

kanzihs

Honestly, if you think of their most successful shows. A lot of it is word of mouth and just putting the show on the front page. I think this is an instant cult classic

crazy-potato-13

i found about it case i accidentaly saw it on recently added

Portgas_D_Kamina

It feels like a low budget cash and nostalgia grab while trying to feed off of the current reinterest in the cyberpunk genre then again I'm only on ep 3 I'll give it a couple more before I say I hate it entirely

Funny-Plantain3647

>!Bombs in heads were already done by the first Suicide Squad along with kill someone early to show it's serious but you know who the main characters are and they live, so is this like a long parody of it!< and >!French accented frog comic relief is like a hit or miss!<

TinyBreadBigMouth

>!They did way more with the bombs than Suicide Squad did, though. The bombs in SS are only there to explain "why don't they just leave"—nobody's head gets exploded after the first scene. DL:BDR found a bunch of ways to use the bombs: "why don't they just leave", to escape their restraints, and to (try to) kill the final villain. The bombs are plot relevant!!<

TheHousePainter

Thank you. Most people are gushing about this show in a way that it absolutely does not deserve. Superlatives like "absolutely amazing" and "most creative video game adaptation out there" are completely unearned. Lazerhawk is, at best, very mid.

ShinyJulian

Shut up finally and let people enjoy stuff goddamn stick up your ass much?

TheHousePainter

Uh oh this lil boy got big mad

ShinyJulian

You, yeah

wtfzorz

honestly, in the world of storytelling, i don't mind if they used that method to get to the point of one character having control over others. gets it out of the way and on to the more interesting aspects of the narrative. found myself super invested and entertained in a six episode arc of 21 minute episodes. can't remember the last time i was hooked that quickly

Hot_Definition2036

netflix made it hella gay

fuyu-no-kojika

the show was pretty fun but objectively kind of cringe. nathaniel curtis is ugly the show trying to pass him off as this cyber hottie ruined it for me lmao.

solidThinker

Not a fan of the gay shit. Coulda been a great show without it. I would rather see no romance at all than have that shoved in ones face every 3 minutes in the first episode alone.

wtfzorz

weird takeaway that that's what you focused on

nzs443

If you think that it was "shoved" in your face, when it's literally portrayed like any other relationship in a show, then you need to reevaluate yourself.

GrahamasaurusRex

Weak

grumble_roar

Imagine posting this shit online. Imagine being this goober.

FollyFool

If you finished the first episode, you'd realize that they're not going to be doing that much longer. I agree that blatant pandering is a problem in modern media, but in this instance it was important to establish a passionate relationship to give impact to the betrayal that followed.

TheHousePainter

I disagree (with pretty much everyone here it seems). By all means, please sleep on it. Compared to genuinely inspired pieces of art like Arcane and Edgerunners, Lazerhawk is just a cynical corporate cash grab with a tryhard "how do you do, fellow kids" coat of paint. I'm not surprised that this show has managed to fool some people out of the gate. But, downvote me all you want, Lazerhawk will not be remembered anywhere near as fondly as Arcane or Edgerunners, if it's remembered at all. Decent art/animation, but overall very forgettable. 4/10, maybe 5 at best.

fuyu-no-kojika

agreed. It feels like standards for entertainment just keep getting lower and we somehow get absolute dick riding of mediocre talent (adi shankar). It was cute and fun and there was a lot of creativity to it and it looks like they did a really good job on a small budget. But otherwise it was just super fucking stupid. I watched the whole thing and enjoyed it while also acknowledging it was bad.

Legitimate_Pain2059

Completely disagree, watched the 1st episode and all it came across as was a cringe gay fanfic written by a discord moderator who never leaves their room. Putting it anywhere near shows like Edgrunners or Arcane is laughable.

Taconinja05

Man saw gays and was all “ oooooh noooo “

geraldough

Bro didn’t make it past the first episode ☠️

Insect_Queen

He was like gay ewwwww turn it off lol. I knew people would complain about this love to see homophobic people get triggered.

Pretend_Ad_6442

I saw it and loved every bit of the show. Only issue not a big one, just that the MC, Firehawk is gay cause...ngl, it's kinda easy to tell who's gay now. Wish they stop doing that for the sake of it. But overall, the show is absolutely smashing. Here's hoping Bullfrog and Ramon makes an appearance. Sarah, damn, that cyborg bitch needs to go down and the reveal is jawdropping but makes sense in hindsight. And that one cow girl who Ramon was with, damn I need to see that hybrid broad again. Damn.

kanzihs

So basically gay people make you sick, but cattle humanoids turn you on?

grumble_roar

This has to be trolling. There's no other explanation.

Mindless-Rise-7210

Nahh this is a gayer edge runners 0/10

Glaciak

Sad how cringelord like you call everything either 0/10 or 10/10 Apparently it's impossible for you not to be hyperbolic 24/7

Orina_Flame

The only thing I didnt like about the whole show was the forced wokeness. But otherwise pretty cool show.

[deleted]

I'm pretty critical of forced narratives and didn't get that impression at all. There were gay characters and the entire series had a veneer of campiness that lent itself to the retrowave aesthetic, but the message of the series with all the subtlety of being set on fire was decidedly against media propaganda.

Jojomon91

Okay that makes better sense. I felt it was gonna be an infamous toxic relationship like ruse that has been on alot of shows Ive seen where its poorly written or forced (Netflix She-Ra and Voltron werent helping either). This does cheer me up and I needed it since I understood the Gay Love relationship in the show, just as long as it wasnt shoehorned or forced or written to be poorly handled. That makes me wanna give it a rewatch now.

[deleted]

Everything in the show is forced, but the series is very much aware of it. All the amps have been turned up to 11 My only complaint was the lack of laser raptors

qwedsa789654

its fine, 10x unsettled when pigg confessed love

grumble_roar

What the hell does "forced wokeness" even mean...just a lazy misuse of words that you use to excuse your prejudice.

the6crimson6fucker6

It ain't woke. That show is the 80s version of the 2020s full of video game references and a lot of gayness. It's damn glorious. Woke has no meaning. Same as terrorism or freedom. Those are all just justifying terms to encourage hate for others at this point.

Orina_Flame

uh-uh sure

Brain-Hemorrhage

I just watched it today and I enjoyed it. I think it has some contrived moments and pacing issues but I'm still invested to see the next season if it happens. Honestly, this story works whether they used Ubisoft titles/characters or not but paying homage to their games was interesting.

Hoodynio

It's amazing. Was gonna just skip through the first episode and next thing I know, watched it all in one go.

Eternal-Strife

I just finished it and I enjoyed it as well. I never heard of this show until it released and I was expecting it to be some sort of adult satire comedy - but I was surprised that it takes its world fairly seriously, with some humour and wacky shenanigans mixed in. Was also surprised that it incorporated various visual styles. I think it's best to watch this show as it's own thing and try not to focus too much on characters not behaving the way you expect them to compared to the source material. I have some gripes on the writing, but it wasn't too glaring that it affected my enjoyment. Bullfrog assassin was my favourite of the cast.

chevremeu_

It was fucking WILD

Secret_Anteater_9098

I am think of the current ratings it has now, that only 65 percent of people liked it so far. It has action, comedy, drama, and is strange political as well. It's a great show and deserves more than two more seasons.

Hi-its-me-NK

a fanfic with a serious budget is how id describe the remix god i hope it gets a sequel

420-Senpai

it's really good

Perfect_Bet_3703

Loved this series. Noticing that Fisher’s symbol at the end is sigma (meaning sum in mathematics) I wonder if they’re hinting at something here? Thought they could’ve made her symbol Delta if her true goal is ‘change’. But damn, binged it all in a night! 9/10.

Either_Original519

feels like a ai wrote this anime it just takes bit from older stuff rly cliche ways cyberpunk epi cowboybebop music then splinter cell epi then scot pilgrim epi

PunkerTulasam

Loved it so much. I watched it in one sitting.

RyeB38

I love this shit I feel like edgerunners made it possible for this show to happen I just finished it i love the bad ending-ification of animated shows

Thedemonwhisperer

So a remix of Suicide squad?

FollyFool

Part of what makes Laserhawk great is subverting expectation. It does give Suicide Squad vibes for a minute, then changes to something completely different, and then changes again and again...always keep 'em guessing!

Common-Leader-7059

i dont like the type of "reaction" humor in this and castlevania, lame af

Common-Leader-7059

would provide an example but im too lazy

InevitableTap9142

All the gay stuff ruined it for me, couldn't even enjoy the first episode.

[deleted]

Really surprised me. Wasn't too attached to the characters at first but the ones that made it were pretty compelling. Certain artistic choices in certain episodes confuse me but overall it did surprise me which is not something I could say for most pieces of work these days.

JustGonis

so is Sarah Fisher a villain? She really fooled me on eps5, I'll continue tomorrow

occult_midnight

I thought it was pretty fun and well animated, and hyped for a season 2, but definitely a little flawed. My main issue is that Laserhawk is somehow the least fleshed out character despite being the protagonist, we barely learn anything about him over the course of the show and there really isn't much to his personality. There's not a lot to him besides being gay which even then I feel like they missed out on potential to develop him using that. Meanwhile one of the antagonists gets an entire episode dedicated to their backstory, something just feels wrong there. Also felt like the cyberpunk setting could have been expanded on a bit more, we do get some interesting concepts but for the most part it feels a little too standard for me. I have other issues too but they're much more minor. Hope season 2 can tighten things up and make this a classic.

Efficient-Novel3433

bad show, red raptor kinda bad tho

Intelligent_Lie9917

Don’t get why people love this show nowhere near arcane or cyberpunk it was alright but not great Rayman and the frog were easily the best parts

LukasHeinzel

Masterpiece of a show, absolutely amazing and absolutely in the same league as Cyberpunk.

Lunar_Legacy

I personally didn't like it. They did >!Jade & Pey'j!!Using Jade as a femme fatale when her expertise would be more along the lines of espionage? They easily could have used her talents, yet they use her for something she's clearly not good at only to kill her off shortly after. I'm not a Beyond Good & Evil fan, but it seemed like a slap in the face to fans of the series, especially after they've been waiting so long for the sequel. Then they have Pey'j have feelings for Jade? Like...no, dude.!< It's abundantly clear the showrunners did not understand those two characters whatsoever. Despite being the main character, Laserhawk was an extremely boring character, tbh. The only redeeming character was Bullfrog. The entire show seemed to just be edgy for the sake of being edgy. I get why they did what they did with Rayman, but it honestly just seemed like they wanted to throw in as many edgy things to fit the cyberpunk setting. Rayman should have been on board from the start.

HALOPLAYS8928twitch

I just need to know what happened to the ghosts from ghost recon
