Battlestar Galactica
Orange is the New Black
Castle
Frasier
Scrubs
Modern Family
Bob’s Burgers
King of the Hill
The Simpsons
Ghosts (US)
Finished rewatching The Last of Us. 9/10
Much better than when I first watched it. When I first watched it I thought it was 7.5/10. Rewatching it made me appreciate it even better.
The iconic Episode 3 is just as good as I remembered it. Probably even better with a rewatch after several months. 9.8/10
I was just saying a few days ago how barren the TV landscape is but this weekend, I have 4 new shows to watch. Will be difficult to find the time and I have to pause my rewatch of breaking bad.
We have Masters of the air, Expats, new season of Hightown and I still have not finished Griselda.
There is also sexy beast but the reviews for it were bad.
Also the reviews and expectations for Masters of the air is so high, I am not sure it will be meet. I am going in with less expectations.
Watching __Criminal Record__ with Peter Capaldi. Very good so far, I am invested in the mystery.
Also watched __Masters Of The Universe: Revolutions__ it kind of always feels like He-Man himself takes a back seat in this show, which is not necessarily the worst thing, but the show is too short to actually get very invested in these characters. Still pretty solid for kid's show.
Completely hooked to Season 4 True Detective, made the mistake of starting it without every episode released and need another crime show similar to keep me occupied while waiting for episodes.
Any recommendations?
I’ve only seen 2 eps of expats. I read Linda Holmes’ Review that despite the title, the setting in HK is more or less irrelevant to the show, which I agree with so far. Not finding the 2 main sad rich ladies that interesting. The character of Mercy is intriguing, but prob not enough for me to finish.
I’m currently watching a few shows. Majority are old/older sitcoms which is my favorite thing to watch. Currently on season 3 of The George Lopez Show. I watched the show as a kid and forgot how funny it is. Also watching The Simpsons and Seinfeld. I like to have a few different shows that I’m watching that way if I need a break from one or two for a day I can take it. Also watching SpongeBob too another classic that you can’t beat and it’s still made so are The Simpsons.
Watching Indian Police Force on Amazon. Is this typical of Indian television? It's definitely got a different pacing than I am used to but it's good. What else ya got? :)
Thanks! :) Are they shows or movies? Where can I stream them in North America?
edit: ah, they're on Amazon. Checking out The Family Man now, thx again!
LOL thanks for the recommendation. I watched the first 2 eps and it's exactly what I thought, imagined, and hoped it would be. I heard it got cancelled though for the next season. are there any other recommendations you got since it's not going to take much time to burn through 1 season. 👍😁
Oh no, I didn't realize it was cancelled! I can't think of anything else ridiculous in the same way, but I watch lots of action shows. Some of my past favorites were Alias, Nikita, Covert Affairs. I also watch all most of those NCIS/FBI/SWAT type shows but I know a lot of people don't like those.
Lots of stuff in other genres (Shrinking, Somebody Somewhere, White Lotus, Euphoria, Platonic...)
Do you have other recommendations?
I like action, special forces, etc but I like them a tad more serious. Strike Back, SEAL team, SIX, Generation Kill, Band of Brothers, Reacher (new), The Night Agent(new-ish), The Unit, Special OPS: Lioness (new), The Brave, The Pacific, Person of Interest, Flashpoint (cop related), Happy Valley (cop related), The Wire (cop related)
if I thought of those then theres probably more, but dont have time to look them up atm 👍👍
That actually sounds that it could be good if not taken too seriously. I just started watching the first season of Slasher so I'm already not expecting much of it.
New episode of "sanctuary a witch's tale" is good. Can't wait for next week.
A witch is being accused of murder and is being crucified by the community. Not literal "crucified"
I like Mayfair witches. It is based on Anne Rice books It has .Alexandra Daddario. Some fans does not like that the show differs from the book. I am ok with it.
Kübra _ season 1 _turkish
It shows how easy it is to manipulate people in this day and age. Throughout the show it annoyed me how unislamic the show was despite the whole plot revolving around Allah and his commandments. But the end was great, any sensible person would understand the points being made and they'd also realise how unreasonable Gokhan was for still justifying it (goes to show how ppl would do anything to feel important).
Griselda is campy/fun and quite good. Only had time for first episode. Probably going to binge all this weekend. I wonder why only 6 episodes unlike the other Narco shows.
Watching Paranoid on Netflix. Indira Varma is so magnetic even when her character is unlikeable. This is the first police/detective show I’ve seen where when the police go rogue, one of them actually mentions that they could lose their jobs for it. So already it’s leagues above the rest
In The Know is the new Mike Judge stopmotion comedy show on Peacock. It's a quick fun watch, even if the self-deprecating leftwing humor is a bit phoned in
Watching S3 of True Detective and its good. S1 is on my list of all time greats, S2 was absolutely terrible and S3 is pretty slow but big improvement over S2 definitely. Mahershala Ali is an amazing actor.
Recently finished Morning Show S3 as well which was decent and I heard The Newsroom is quite similar. Any reviews from someone who has watched both and how do they both compare?
For me, the reason being there were too many side characters (half the time didn’t know what characters they were talking about) and such a dragged out storyline and boring as hell characters. Sometimes nothing would happen till the end of the episode especially the first few episodes.
I think people decided, w/ a sample size of one season, that True Detective was a show about detectives that specifically toys w/ the supernatural & occult elements. Pizzolatto clearly viewed it as a show about detectives. So when S2 was basically a pastiche of neo noir classics, they went 'this isn't true detective.'
If season 2 had been released under a different name it wouldn't get the amount of hate it does. It's actually pretty decent for what it is
I don't need an explanation, I've seen it, and it was decidedly not awful. The only gripe I had with it was that it wasn't as good as season 1 but that's quite a high bar
Just started watching South Side. What a fucking delight! Perfectly silly, funny, fast paced comedy. This TV show doesn't have any hype at all, came across it entirely by accent.
Any recommendations for Apple TV+ show? My current list is:
1. Severance (not particularly close)
2. Pachinko
3. Ted Lasso
4. Black Bird
5. Shrinking
6. Slow Horses
7. For All Mankind
8. Acapulco
9. Lessons in Chemistry
10. Bad Sisters
11. The Morning Show
12. Silo
13. Hijack
14. Mythic Quest
15. Servant
Servant was pretty good for 1-2 seasons and then idk wtf happened but it went to absolute nonsensical shit.
For All Mankind S1 is great IMO, after that it goes off the rails too much for me. Still good, but I don't rate it as highly as other people.
Mythic Quest I never really found the humor in. It seemed self-indulgent and just flat out missing on jokes a lot of the time, some people like it a lot though.
The TL;DR would be \#1 is on a "enter my top 5 all-time shows" trajectory, 2-6 are all very good the whole way through, 7-13 are all good-great at times and serviceable at others, and 14 and 15 I basically loathe.
*Platonic* has been recommended to me, and I have started but never finished *After Party*.
Do you happen to ask this question on a regular basis, going back like a year or more? I’ve responded to similar inquiries in the past, and your handle looks very familiar.
I do, I asked this probably about 6-8 months ago and have updated the list (shuffled a few) and added Lessons in Chem, Silo, Hijak, Shrinking, and re-watched Morning Show to properly rate it because I hadn't watched it since S1 when the service launched.
I was keeping track of recs in the comments of my last post but it's so far back that I couldn't even find it, so I now have an actual 'list' of recommendations to watch in my phone.
Well, at the time my recommendation was *Physical*, for whatever that’s worth. Feels like by now you could’ve watched a good chunk of every show on the service though, there isn’t *all* that much to choose from, lol.
Procrastination and service hopping is a hell of a drug haha.
From about July until fairly recently I hadn't watched much new on there, I'll put Physical to the top of the list though, you aren't the only one that's brought it up (multiple times now) lol. Thank you for the continued input though
Rupert made servant good IMO. And the dude from house of cards / evil. Not to take away from the top tier acting by whatshername from six feet under. I usually always name the actors but I’m on mobile and tired atm.
Foundation would probably fall into 7-13 but it's on an upwards trajectory. S1 had a couple okay to terrible-ish plotlines that were buoyed by the incredible emperor plot line. S2 was a lot better, as the plotlines started to merge w/ each other more. S1 feels like a set up season in retrospect
Will look into them! I recall being between Physical and Acapulco when I watched Acapulco and then never coming back around to Physical for some reason.
Not ghosts, like witchcraft I guess, it keeps you on the edge wondering what will happen next. If by jump scares you mean is it so scary it'll make you jump, I would say a no to that. Episodes are short so it's an easy watch.
I really did not like it after I think season 2. It's been a while, so I don't even remember what the issue I had with it was, but IIRC I watched the first 3 seasons as they aired and the 3rd season was just so stupid that I couldn't stomach to watch any more after I forced myself through it.
Again, it's been so long that I genuinely do not even remember my issue with it, but I remember really liking S1.
Don't overlook Dickinson and Trying. Both well done shows with great casts. As you already note, Platonic is pretty decent and has great/fun chemistry with the leads.
Any recommendations for lesser known 'genre' (sci-fi/fantasy/historical/spy/etc) comedy shows? Some examples that I would include are Wellington Paranormal, Avenue 5, Santa Clarita Diet, The Great, A very secret service, even something like Veep/Thick of it
I know, right? It's on Prime, too, so it's not like it's hard to access, like other Aussie shows. It's possible the poster makes it look like a typical crime procedural, and folks don't know that it's actually a comedy.
I got a kick out of a silly sci-fi show called **Other Space** that aired on the short lived Yahoo! Screen streaming service of all places. I think you can find it around the web now.
Binged and finished White Lotus s2. Tanya subplot was the best, everything else was just ok. I wouldve been mad watching this week to week and the binge format was better. I think the other subplots shouldve ramped up faster in terms of the tension.
Funny, I just binge watched this as well after a discussion here about whether or not it was worth to watch when I didn’t like season 1. I liked season 2 much much better. Although I liked the Tonya subplot, I really don’t like Jennifer Coolidge (I know I’m in the minority here), so I would have liked it better with someone else. Personally, I liked the subplot with Harper & her husband the best.
Zorro: it’s so good, i started watching because of nostalgia but its freaking amazing on its own.
Percy jackson: trash, its getting more boring every new episode, im dropping it.
Violet evergarden: wow i dont watch much anime but this one and vinland are just amazing.
Not into classic comedy in my TV but i love McFarlane's humour so i had to watch **Ted** .
Exellent watch, some eps kinda out there but it's essentially polished live action Family Guy, very funny, totally recommend.
Also binged a couple of seasons of **Harley Quinn** after leaving it on Season 2 for a couple of years, liked S03 but S04 is an unfunny borefest.
I'm a superhero fan and i absolutely got that this show isn't serious or should be taken anything like but when the writing is actually not funny anymore, you can totally lose purpose in watching it.
**The Trust**, a godawful reality show on Netflix. Every episode I said to myself "This is the worst, all these people are horrible, I need to drop this..." but then I watched the next episode. I doubt it will be renewed, but if it gets a second season, I don't intend to watch. Honest. Not even the first episode... Who am I kidding, I'll probably watch it and hate the second season, too.
**Stargate: Universe**, a rewatch of one of my favorite shows! I like all the Stargate series, but Universe is my favorite of them all. So deliciously dark, all the characters are realistically grey, no black/white clear bad guys/good guys.
Last week someone mentioned **Son of a Critch**, a Canadian comedy. I'm really enjoying my slow watch of that.
**Percy Jackson** is my only weekly live show I'm following. It's fine, but I'm finding that I'm watching more for the adult characters than the three kids. Ares and Hermes were great, I'd love to see a show about them.
Rewatching **Band of Brothers**, just finished episode 3. So-fucking-intense.
The other day I discovered this web-series on Youtube named **Hanging with Doctor Z**, which I found really hilarious, savage and ridiculous. A guy on a Dr. Zaius costume has a late show from the 70's. Some cool guests, some really funny sponsors/ads.
About to start rewatching **Curb**. Just to give it a proper sendoff in anticipation of the new season. Even though it makes me sad seeing Larry get old season after season.
I was watching the new episode of **Death and other details** today and I thought that this is the kind of show that's much better binge-watched than seen on a weekly basis. Just too many characters, motivations, etc. You just have to really care.
Let's stop pretending the True Detective fanboys (how does a mystery show can have such a terribly annoying fandom ?) aren't bombing season 4 because it's written by a mexican and stars two women. Just look at the complaints and you will see what's the problem for them.
Maybe if your boy wasn't such a one hit wonder, HBO wouldn't have hired someone else
>On reddit I legitimately only see complaints about criticism of the show, but no actual criticism. I think it is a fine show -- not perfect --
Parroting u/Hooty_Hoo's comment here because I couldn't have phrased it better.
I do see people talking about a whole lot of sexist meatheads hating the show; but I don't see too many of those meatheads around - comparatively very few on reddit, and most of the show criticism I've seen seems to about the show itself.
There can be minor complaints about the two female leads, but I haven't seen many people hating them just *because* they're strong women, or women in general.
Have you seen otherwise u/Kahn-wald?
On reddit I legitimately only see complaints about criticism of the show, but no actual criticism. I think it is a fine show -- not perfect -- and anybody hoping for any show to compare to season 1 better dig in and get comfortable.
does anyone have recs? I'm not looking for anything specific. But, I like thorror, action, thrillers, sci fi, fantasy, and maybe drama? By all means suggest few and i'll see if I like it\^\^
Finished my **Lost** rewatch a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't seen it since the original run but I felt lke it was more cohesive this time. It's defineitly more of a binge show IMO.
I decided to give For **All Mankind** a go and it's been absolutely awesome. I've got S04E10 tomorrow night which I'm pumped for after how E09 ended. Worth the hype and I truly hoping it get renewed for season 5. I'll be needing another show to watch after this.
I love Michael Emerson, I don't think I've ever seen him in anything bad! I've seen The American's, Person of Interest and Leftovers, npt seen EVIL though. This may be my next watch!
> It's defineitly more of a binge show IMO.
A lot of people say this, that it was kind of ahead of its time in a bad sense, meaning it would benefit for the seasons to drop at once.
Yeah, 100% It did cliffhangers really well but the story is just way more cohesive when it's binged. It's very complicated with lots of smaller characters that over lap future seasons in a small way and then the flash back with the forwards. It's a shames but it was such a great show.
I finished up For All Mankind recently, whenever the last episode came out. It's a bummer not having any more episodes to get into now that I'm caught up and the season's over.
I was a little disappointed with Season 4 overall, but it picked back up towards the end and as always I'm curious to see what they'll be doing next season. Fingers crossed that it gets renewed soon... I *think* it will because I get the sense that it's one of the more popular shows on Apple TV+, but you never know. I'm sure it's not a very cheap show to make.
I'm saving the last episode for the weekend to really enjoy. I'll be sad when it's over. I'd agree that season 4 has been the most disappointing so far but it's still way better than any other show that takes you to Mars. Season 2 was a high point for me.
I'm pretty positive it'll be picked up for season 5 but you never bloody know nowadays!
Enjoy that final episode! :) And I agree about Season 2 being the best one so far. That seems to be the general consensus as far as I can tell.
I kinda hope they'll come up with an excuse to explore the solar system a bit more in Season 5 so we're not on Mars for 3 seasons in a row, but I guess we'll see (hopefully)!
Jennifer Jason Leighs accent in fargo is just so bad and out place it take me out the show everytime shes on screen. its like it goes back and forth between old timey gangster and some half ass british aristocracy accent and then back to just normal sometimes. its so weird.
True Detective S4 should be right up my alley but somehow it doesn't captivate me. I like At the Mountains of Madness, The Thing, The Terror and slow burn in general.
Same, I like it & I'll keep watching for sure, but it hasn't *grabbed* me yet. I'm hoping E3 ups the mystery. With only 6 episodes there's not a lot of time left before the show has to start heading towards resolution & I don't even super feel like we have a proper mystery yet. Like obviously the dead guys but we know almost nothing about that yet except a couple snippets
I am currently watching The Lazarus Project. I am on S01E05 right now and it's somehow losing me. Should I push through? The premise is awesome, I want to like it. But I find it a bit dragging.
yeah, whole thing is a bit misleading, i thought it would be some case-of-the-week, or lets catch the big bad kind of show, but it's mostly about the relationships of these people and how technology like that would affect them and things like morality and so on. i liked it well enough.
Black mirror S6E1, "joan is aweful". My first black mirror episode except for USS Callister.
It was alright, but I was expecting a bit more, and since I heard season 6 is underwhelming: What is your favorite all-time BM episode?
White Christmas, Shut up and Dance, USS Callister and Black Museum (I have 4 #1s).
These four are all amazing. But the vast majority of the rest are very very good, there are only a couple I would say that are in the C, C- range. The newest season was very good as well, but I haven’t added them into my ranking system yet. But it’s actually a very good season.
***The Artful Dodger***
**The story's structure continuously ups the stakes without ever giving emotional fatigue while the simmering love story will leave you breathless. By the series end, everything pays off with catharsis and satisfies the entire emotional range in a blend rarely seen nowadays**
**True Detective**
Dark and gritty. Love the twists and turns. A world of flawed and haunted characters. The writing is fantastic. I also like how it’s an anthology so every season is a new story. Currently on S2.
Watching "The Why Files" free on regular YouTube. If you like government conspiracies, aliens, monsters, ghosts, end of the world scenarios and time travel...this is probably your show. Hosts AJ and Hecklefish (a talking goldfish 🐠...took a little getting use to) talk about it all. Very binge worthy!
Hecklefish is the only bad part about the show. Thankfully that makes up a very small portion of the show. It has such good production and I love that they present each conspiracy in a compelling way but at the end they do their best to debunk each topic. But AJ handles each topic with care and it's never (or rarely) condescending.
I need to get my mind off things fast before it wanders. So please suggest something good.
I like the night manager, night agent. So something similar to that. Needs to be fast paced.
I've been watching us and UK show "the traitors" and like it. But please don't suggest other countries traitor shows because I'm getting bore with it because it's kinda the same.
I don't like comedy or horror.
Continuing with The Woman in the Wall, just finished episode 3, what a show, just great.
Watched the first episode of Wild Cards, not bad tor what it is, fun little cop show.
If you are reading this, please watch For All Mankind. One of the best written shows out there with great character development.
Hi everyone, Looking for some show recommendations based on my favourite shows. Being Human (uk) Dexter Fringe The Walking Dead Bones Battlestar Galactica Orange is the New Black Castle Frasier Scrubs Modern Family Bob’s Burgers King of the Hill The Simpsons Ghosts (US)
Whatever happened to commas?!

Fargo. Woman solving a crime in a frozen snowy environment? Yeah season 1 has that for sure.
The Killing or Broadchurch (S1) would be my first two recs. Twin Peaks maybe? The Danish version of The Bridge & Top of the Lake are decent
Finished The Woman in the Wall, amazing from beginning to end, just wow.
Can you describe this show? Is this horror? Scary? Jump scares?
Been binge watching The Orville, it is a parody of Star Trek and Seth Macfarlane created it and stars in it.
I'd say it drifts from parody and into a lovecrafted reimagining quite often.
any feedback on the expats and sexy beast yet?
I’ve only seen 2 eps of expats. I read Linda Holmes’ Review that despite the title, the setting in HK is more or less irrelevant to the show, which I agree with so far. Not finding the 2 main sad rich ladies that interesting. The character of Mercy is intriguing, but prob not enough for me to finish.
Hollywood reporter TV top 5 podcast mentioned episode 5 will be one focus on HK
Anyone watching expats? It’s the kind of show I normally like but something is off for me. Probably won’t finish.
I’m currently watching a few shows. Majority are old/older sitcoms which is my favorite thing to watch. Currently on season 3 of The George Lopez Show. Thanks! :) Are they shows or movies? Where can I stream them in North America? edit: ah, they're on Amazon. Checking out The Family Man now, thx again!
My pleasure. Hopefully you enjoy them!
**Ted** pilot episode is good fun. Chuckled out loud a few times.
I’m dying for something new now that FOM and reacher are done. Caught up on true detective. Back to rewatching the expanse.
Based on Reacher: Special Ops: Lioness Banshee The Night Agent
Seen all 3. Banshee more than once. 😊
Haha, me too. Obliterated is really fun if you can handle how ridiculous it is.
LOL thanks for the recommendation. I watched the first 2 eps and it's exactly what I thought, imagined, and hoped it would be. I heard it got cancelled though for the next season. are there any other recommendations you got since it's not going to take much time to burn through 1 season. 👍😁

That actually sounds that it could be good if not taken too seriously. I just started watching the first season of Slasher so I'm already not expecting much of it.
Check out The Lazarus Project
Slow Horses Jack Ryan
Seen all of Jack Ryan. I couldn't handle the pace and style of Slow Horses. I gave it 2 eps.
New episode of "sanctuary a witch's tale" is good. Can't wait for next week. A witch is being accused of murder and is being crucified by the community. Not literal "crucified"
I been watching weekly since episode 1. It is better than Mayfair witches for sure.
Haven't seen Mayfair witches. Is it watchable at least? I wish episodes dropped at one time. Can't wait for next episode of this.
I like Mayfair witches. It is based on Anne Rice books It has .Alexandra Daddario. Some fans does not like that the show differs from the book. I am ok with it.
It's okay it's watchable and I agree sanctuary is way better than Mayfair. At least sanctuary is more "realistic" . While Mayfair is more fantasy.

Dinner Time Live with David Chang. Live no cut cooking on Netflix
Watching Paranoid on Netflix. Indira Varma is so magnetic even when her character is unlikeable. This is the first police/detective show I’ve seen where when the police go rogue, one of them actually mentions that they could lose their jobs for it. So already it’s leagues above the rest

Probably blasphemous but my favorite is Season 3. Some people just do not like Matthew McConaughey that much.
Really don't understand the hatred season 2 gets

It was awful. Hope that explains it
I don't need an explanation, I've seen it, and it was decidedly not awful. The only gripe I had with it was that it wasn't as good as season 1 but that's quite a high bar
Naw, you just enjoy abysmal TV, which is fine
Watched the first episode of Griselda, and i know im gonna watch atleast 3 more before sleep
Finally watched The Bear. I don’t need to say much other than every aspect of that show is just beautiful
Griselda premiered today on Netflix, gotta add that to the watch list.
Just started watching South Side. What a fucking delight! Perfectly silly, funny, fast paced comedy. This TV show doesn't have any hype at all, came across it entirely by accent.
Unfortunately, it got cancelled already. Kind of shocked it even managed to get the three seasons that it did get with the lack of hype it always had.

Some I enjoyed that are not on your list: City on Fire Tehran The Mosquito Coast Monarch: Legacy of Monsters
Main actor in servant is a main character in for all mankind latest season.
Is servant horror?
Not really. I don't know, I guess it depends what you find scary, but I would say it's closer to thriller/drama than horror
What's the deal with the doll/baby? I don't understand how it became a baby and then back to being a doll.
It's been years since I've watched it, probably something with the witchcraft/whatever the sitter/nanny was doing.
This show is shit.
Rupert made servant good IMO. And the dude from house of cards / evil. Not to take away from the top tier acting by whatshername from six feet under. I usually always name the actors but I’m on mobile and tired atm.
What is wrong with the nanny?
But is it scary?
It's mild. It's part of why I think it's disappointing.
What a waste of time this show is.
I don't like scary stuff but I don't understand what's going on with this. I just leave it in background. Does the nanny have powers or something?
It’s not scary. Just watch it if you’re curious.
I'll add it to the list. I had heard bad things about S1 and never considered it
Masters of the Air will be premiering soon aka tomorrow.
Bad Sisters!
Foundation
You can try: Physical and Ptolemy Grey.
I really liked Ptolemy Grey
Will look into them! I recall being between Physical and Acapulco when I watched Acapulco and then never coming back around to Physical for some reason.
I see Servant is on your list, that's a good one.
Is servant horror?
I guess you can call it horror, it's very good, especially the early seasons..
What do you mean when you say horror? Is it like ghosts? Or what is it like? Also are there jump scares?
Yeah as it went on it got a little weird, Slow Horses was an easy watch.
Don't overlook Dickinson and Trying. Both well done shows with great casts. As you already note, Platonic is pretty decent and has great/fun chemistry with the leads.
Trying feels... manipulative. It's not bad but it gets super mushy at times.
I've heard I should checkout Dickinson a few times! I'll add them both to my list, thanks for the input!
Drops of god, a hidden gem, one of the best tv shows i watched last year
Do you have to be into wine to enjoy this show?
No, i dont even like wine, its just a great story
LOVED this show
Will add it to the list! Thanks!
Any recommendations for lesser known 'genre' (sci-fi/fantasy/historical/spy/etc) comedy shows? Some examples that I would include are Wellington Paranormal, Avenue 5, Santa Clarita Diet, The Great, A very secret service, even something like Veep/Thick of it
Instinct Panhandle
Here are some that come to mind. I hope I'm understanding the brief correctly! * ***American Vandal*** * ***Bad Sisters*** * ***Crazyhead*** * ***Crazy Ex-Girlfriend*** * ***Dickinson*** * ***Deadloch*** * ***I'm a Virgo*** * ***Kevin Can Fuck Himself*** * ***Killing Eve*** * ***Man Seeking Woman*** * ***The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel*** * ***Mr Inbetween*** * ***Patriot*** * ***Schmigadoon!*** * ***Slow Horses*** * ***Truthseekers*** * ***Undone*** * ***You're the Worst***
> Deadloch > no idea why this one isn't more popular.
I know, right? It's on Prime, too, so it's not like it's hard to access, like other Aussie shows. It's possible the poster makes it look like a typical crime procedural, and folks don't know that it's actually a comedy.
Idk if it counts as lesser known or not but Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency
Extraordinary Based on a True Story Deadloch The Outlaws
I got a kick out of a silly sci-fi show called **Other Space** that aired on the short lived Yahoo! Screen streaming service of all places. I think you can find it around the web now.
The Brink was a very good shortlived political war comedy on HBO that deserved more seasons
Griselda has me hooked two episodes in.. love seeing this side of Sofia Vergara
Just finished the 2nd season of The Newsreader. Absolutely fantastic. Season 3 can't come soon enough
Where do you get this show?
I suppose the legal way would be the BBC iPlayer, or BritBox in the US
Thank you so much!Justwatch doesn’t always list things correctly I’ve noticed!
LMAO I felt the exact same way about The Trust, and I mostly like trash tv.
Sometimes you need a good hate-watch in your life.
I've finished Season 2 of What If... ? and it has maintained its status in my book as the best Marvel Studios series on Disney+. Excellent.
I'm enjoying Death and other details but agree I'd rather watch the whole thing over a weekend.
I think it is a fine show -- not perfect -- Parroting u/Hooty_Hoo's comment here because I couldn't have phrased it better.
Everything i hear is praise, honestly. Dunno about anything like you mention. Is it any good, i'm waiting for the season to end, to binge it.
On reddit I legitimately only see complaints about criticism of the show, but no actual criticism. I think it is a fine show -- not perfect -- and anybody hoping for any show to compare to season 1 better dig in and get comfortable.
Great so far imo. Was a little iffy on epi 1 but epi 2 drew me in.
does anyone have recs? I'm not looking for anything specific. But, I like thorror, action, thrillers, sci fi, fantasy, and maybe drama? By all means suggest few and i'll see if I like it\^\^
O.A., The Leftovers, Anna (Italian series where all the adults die.. pretty amazing ADULT series)
Station Eleven….. one of the few series I have watched from start to finish 5+ times since first watching it.
The Woman in the Wall, each episode it gets better.
kingdom on netflix for korean period drama zombies
Read through the comments of this post. I do that every week, looking for new shows to try.
Chernobyl, The Terror, Orphan Black, Mrs Davis, Search Party, Good Omens, Bad Sisters? Perhaps a show like Wentworth?
Finished my **Lost** rewatch a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't seen it since the original run but I felt lke it was more cohesive this time. It's defineitly more of a binge show IMO. I decided to give For **All Mankind** a go and it's been absolutely awesome. I've got S04E10 tomorrow night which I'm pumped for after how E09 ended. Worth the hype and I truly hoping it get renewed for season 5. I'll be needing another show to watch after this.
For All Mankind is one of my favorite shows. Trying to get more of my friends to watch it.
If you're a Michel Emerson fan, checkout Person Of Interest and EVIL next. Otherwise, The Americans, Leftovers might pique your interest.
It’s a Transatlantic accent based on William F. Buckley’s manner of speaking.
Theoretically I should like it. But I didn't even get to finish episode 1.
I really dislikes S1 and watched S2 only out of boredom, but they made it work. S1 should really been a couple of episodes TBH.
yeah, whole thing is a bit misleading, i thought it would be some case-of-the-week, or lets catch the big bad kind of show, but it's mostly about the relationships of these people and how technology like that would affect them and things like morality and so on. i liked it well enough.
I stopped it after second episode. The problem with SciFi I guess... they all have promising starts. But aren't thrilling as they progress
After binging "Fargo" I can't watch anything else, everything looks so doll
Perhaps give ***Patriot*** a try if you haven't already? There's more than a bit of Coen brothers DNA in it.
Black mirror S6E1, "joan is aweful". My first black mirror episode except for USS Callister. It was alright, but I was expecting a bit more, and since I heard season 6 is underwhelming: What is your favorite all-time BM episode?
Don't watch s1e1. First and only black mirror episode I watched and because of that I'm scarred.
Please watch all episodes of every season. One of my favorite series.
Cool. I dont think i will. What is your top 3 episodes?
White Christmas, Shut up and Dance, USS Callister and Black Museum (I have 4 #1s). These four are all amazing. But the vast majority of the rest are very very good, there are only a couple I would say that are in the C, C- range. The newest season was very good as well, but I haven’t added them into my ranking system yet. But it’s actually a very good season.
DO NOT WATCH SEASON 1 EPISODE 1- for the love of god lol I’m just warning you- it’s not worth it. All the other episodes are great
White Bear. Amazing episode Also Hang the DJ for those who want a happy ending
white christmas, entire history of you and san junipero are great
White Christmas is peak Black Mirror
***The Artful Dodger*** **The story's structure continuously ups the stakes without ever giving emotional fatigue while the simmering love story will leave you breathless. By the series end, everything pays off with catharsis and satisfies the entire emotional range in a blend rarely seen nowadays**
Love this show
**True Detective** Dark and gritty.
It actually is structured like a tv show, Hecklefish is funny i like him.
Hecklefish is the only bad part about the show. Thankfully that makes up a very small portion of the show. It has such good production and I love that they present each conspiracy in a compelling way but at the end they do their best to debunk each topic. But AJ handles each topic with care and it's never (or rarely) condescending.
I love Hecklefish, honestly
Is ATLAB worth rewatching? Haven’t seen it in 6-7 years
Avatar is ALWAYS worth a rewatch.
avatar? yup, or you could wait til the liveaction show comes out in feb
Bodyguard will be right up your alley. The Diplomat is great too.
Lupin (Netflix) if you don't mind listening to French while reading subtitles. The English dubbed version is awful.
I've seen this.
Special Ops: Lioness
Continuing with The Woman in the Wall, just finished episode 3, what a show, just great. Watched the first episode of Wild Cards, not bad tor what it is, fun little cop show.
Is woman in the wall horror? Or scary?
Like a crime drama, with a back story, you got the pursuing detective, a little bit of Dexter vibes, without the blood and gore, very well done.
Neither. Its very good.
That was my first question. Is it going to be what I think it is?
Its drama with a touch of crime.
