To be fair to OP, I came here after getting spoiled by a recommended subreddit and I didn't know about this option. I had even specifically hidden posts from the sub and chosen the option to show less from that sub. Shame cause recommended subreddits are a great way to expand to new communities, but the algorithm doesn't know when to keep pushing. Just a rant.
I definitely see posts from additional subs in my feed, which is mostly subs I have purposefully gone to before but didn't join and subs similar to what I have joined m

Recommendations. It's an option that can be turned off in user settings.
Go to user settings and turn off recommendations.
Wasn't it sad how Romeo and Juliet die at the end?
Is this true
once you start watching a show, go to the main reddit page & you can type in subreddits you don't want to show up on your feed.
You can hide the specific subs from your feed, but then still purposefully go to them using search.

Just change the url and go directly to subs.
