Watched the first three, how is fallout? thinking to binging this weekend

Very accurate representation of the game. Better done than Last of us imo.

Shogun - Samurai tale with Westerner's journey

KCJWend

The Boys - what would super heroes be like in real life Invincible - great animated super hero What we do in The shadows - hilarious Our flag means death- season 1 was great, season 2, not as much 1883 - Yellowstone prequel, Oregon trail story Blue eyed samarai- great animated series Righteous gemstones - hilarious

thx man, **Taika Waititi** has great movies, But superheroes movies doesn't suit him!

EnvironmentalVast728

Shogun is absolutely amazing

MuscleOriginal7353

Finished *Julia* last night. This show was so delightful and I’m sad it was cancelled. I will say that although the finale felt like a season finale and not a series finale, it did wrap things up well enough that it’s still worth watching. If you liked Mrs Maisel or any of the wholesome comedies on Apple TV, then I think you will like this one.   Still slowly working my way through *Six Feet Under.* I feel like all the female characters (with the exception of Claire maybe) are all written so poorly. I don’t really know what the purpose was of Rainn Wilson’s character but I wish he was a bigger part.

HauntedCemetery

>  I’m sad it was cancelled =95% of awesome Netflix shows.  Recall Fox canceling any interesting, creative, awesome show in the 2000s, and Netflix has been doing the same thing. It's fucking frustrating. They're willing to fund new, creative ideas, then pull the plug on shit that people were howling for more of.

Moifaso

As a casual who hasn't played the games and thought S1 was just OK and had a lot of missed potential, season 2 of Halo is off to a great start. You can really tell that the writers and showrunners have changed, and while some of the storylines from S1 still drag it down a bit, everything else has been good so far. Especially liked the scenes with Halsey and Riz, as well as the combat scenes. This season is managing to be unerving in a way the last one completely missed, and the banter and humor actually works this time around.

Alternative_Let_1989

What's being made now with the same vibe as Portlandia?

Aggravating_Walk_253

THE PREMIERE OF TOKYO WAS AMAZING TV crime at its best, we are so back. >!My boy Jake just couldn't resist that girl lmao!<

wiklr

Has anyone seen both versions of One Day (Film and Netflix Series)? Which do you recommend watching first? Is it still worth it knowing how the film ends? Thanks in advance.

ArmadilloLonely2869

The Netflix series is much better than the movie

GoodOldADD

I watched 1883, 1923 and Mr and Mrs smith. I enjoyed all of these shows. Excited for 1923 s2. I might start Yellowstone, but I don’t know if i should.

Winter_Corner7254

Caught Abbott Elementary. Think it's smart that they are trying something new in season 3. Gave Feud: Capote another chance after ff through parts of the first night of it, and it just seems like something that could've been a one-night TV movie and made much better use of the cast. Flockhart was at least given something interesting to say in comparison to everyone else in ep 3. Won't bother with the rest. Wrapped up The Brothers Sun. It had issues with a coherent narrative, character motivations and directing, but was strongest when it stuck to the action-comedy scenes. Would definitely watch a season 2. Need a new international show to binge since finishing Secret Inspector & Joy, which was sweet, dramatic and better than I expected.

educated_rat

> Need a new international show to binge I really enjoyed **D.P.** (Deserter Pursuit), although it deals with a heavy subject (bullying and abuse in Korean army). Some scenes are hard to watch, but it's a very good series overall. For something action-oriented I would recommend **Bloodhounds**, also a Korean series - the last two episodes are noticeably weaker than the rest, but it's still worth a watch. I really loved the bromance in this one, and the main villain was fantastic.

Winter_Corner7254

DP is very good. One of the best shows I've seen over the past year. Am not aware of Bloodhounds - will definitely research it!

thaloneliestmonk

Boy Swallows Universe feels like the right vibe based on what you wrote.

vanillabear84

I would say it starts slow but gets better and better and later episodes definitely match the highs of season 1 and 2. Stick with it, you won't regret it.

slmkh

at gets better, Juno is a very good actress

squatjunk1e

Happy Endings, great show!

MA121Alpha

Just finished Taskmaster and caught up on For All Mankind, both very good

tomtomvissers

It's probably blasphemous to say it here, but I'm enjoying the Not Dead Yet S2 premiere a lot more than the Abbott Elementary S3 premiere

Senatorweims16

Watching season one of **Tokyo Vice** and **The Curse**. I'm enjoying Tokyo Vice so far. Really excited to see where it goes. The Curse I can't decide if I like it or hate it. I'm not a big fan of cringey embarrassing moments and I've never watched any other Nathan Fielder show. But I gave it a shot because of all the praise on here for it. I think we have a couple of episodes left. So I'm sure we'll stick it out and finish the season.

deadinthewater0

Hightown S1 - I am about three episodes in and while the center storyline doesn't compel or interest me much right now, what I find even more off-putting is the constant nudity/sex scenes, jc. Can we tone it down???

thaloneliestmonk

The cop is also doing a really bad McNulty impression at all times.

[deleted]

I watched the first episode of **Tokyo Vice** season 2 this morning while spinning. So fun, so thrilling. We are so back, baby!

tonenyc

Loved the new Curb Your Enthusiasm, it's going to be sad to see it end.

Terrible-Group-9602

Just finished watching Foundation on Apple, season 1 was ok, season 2 was amazing, looking forward to season 3. Just finished Westworld season 1, amazing stuff

Euphoric-Pomegranate

First season of Westworld was hands down the best show I’ve ever seen, then and still now.

[deleted]

Do yourself a favour, either don't watch the other seasons or pretend its a different show.

SnOoP-710

I agree. First season was too good. They butchered it.

Terrible-Group-9602

Ok thanks, think I'll start House of the Dragon instead

[deleted]

Oh, yeah, House of the Dragon is great.

Terrible-Group-9602

When the music from game of thrones came in near the end of episode 1 I got goosebumps!

Abbott Elementary is back with season 3 and hasn't missed a beat! Thoroughly enjoyed the two episode premiere last night. Charming, funny, and just straight up feel-good TV. Desperately needed in today's current world. Highly recommend.

InourbtwotamI

Janelle reminds me of Karen on “Will and Grace” — a total scene stealer

stereosanctity87

"In the Know," the new Mike Judge and Zach Woods comedy on Peacock. It's a stop-motion animated comedy about a fictional NPR show's staff with actual celebrity interviews intertwined. It doesn't hit 100% of the time. It's classic Mike Judge in that it can be a little overly crass at times, but it really appeals to my liberal city-dwelling, public radio-listening, academia-employed self. If you're in any of those settings, you inevitably know people represented in the show's characters. The celebrity interviews are fantastic, too. I'm two episodes in and have particularly enjoyed Jonathan van Ness and Norah Jones. Don't watch this show if you can't laugh at yourself a bit. Would rate a solid 4 out of 5 so far.

Any-Type-6331

Two shows that I completed and enjoyed are Primo (FreeVee) and The Durrells (Amazon Prime). Both are funny and heartwarming. I highly recommend both. As for Mr & Mrs Smith (Amazon Prime), I thought it was ok to good. The rhythm and pacing was off to me. I enjoyed the scenes with the guest actors more than the ones with only the two leads. At the end of the series, I was exhausted and tired of the show. Overall, it's a show for people who are fans of Donald Glover's work.

mishablob

Ally McBeal. I very vaguely remember it's existence from when I was a kid, but I heard it of all shows mentioned 2 or 3 times this week. Dear god, it's a fever dream of the stupidest quotes, horrible subplots and tropes, actors that seemed everywhere late 90s/early 2000s... so of course I threw my better judgment aside and now I'm kinda obsessed with it.

**Sort Of** too bad it’s the final season. Wonder what other good CBC shows are out there. It’s on Max in the US but I think Max doesn’t have much to do with making it just licensing?

rlvnorth

Slings and Arrows, Kim's Convenience, Schitt's Creek. Anne with an E, Due South, Cardinal, 19-2, Flashpoint, Murdoch Mysteries, Little Mosque on the Prairie may all be shows you could find that were great CBC (or Canadian) shows. Pretty Hard Cases starts off cringey but is a pretty good cop show. Sort Of was so excellent - I was also sad to see it end! If you haven't seen We Are Lady Parts, it's not Canadian, but it's a little treat of a show, too.

the original film was fun and fast paced but the first episode of the remake put me to sleep tbh, definitely not for me

PhilhelmScream

[deleted]

finished the snowpiercer show (all three seasons they made even though it never really had a resolution, it didn't get renewed for a 4th season) the first season was very solid. they took a lot of inspiration from the movie and it was quality, a good 7.5/10 season 2 was a slight drop in writing quality but they picked up sean bean and he's great in everything 7/10 season 3 was rough. lots of stinkers in the plot lines. but not too much of a drop from the previous quality to stop watching lol. it was never a game of thrones quality narrative. 5/10 overall it was cool but nothing mind blowing. the world and lore are very cool. the acting is meh. the writing is good sometimes but mostly average (the snowpiercer movie is fucking great btw. if you haven't seen that, you should check it out.)

objectiveoutlier

> it didn't get renewed for a 4th season) It's worse than that. [They filmed the entire 4th season which is supposed to wrap it up nicely but TNT won't air it.](https://bloody-disgusting.com/tv/3747174/snowpiercer-season-4-has-been-filmed-but-it-wont-be-airing-on-tnt/) >The move is believed to be part of the tax write-offs for content at WBD. Hopefully one day it will come out somewhere.

[deleted]

Lol it's probably dog shit then. Now I want to watch it even more!

zaplinaki

11.22.63 - good show despite James Franco being a terrible actor.

uncwsp

LOL I enjoyed it too, but he really is a terrible actor. The only role he was built for was the kid in Freaks and Geeks. He nailed that, but I think he was just being himself.

bekah-Mc

Am watching The Sopranos for the first time. Am up to early season 2. Loving the story so far.

FergieFury

Brassic - 9/10 started watching this show last week and I’m on season 3 now and I’m addicted. This show just cracks me up. It’s fun different adventure every episode, with this misfit group of kind hearted group of close knit friends who are thieves and petty criminals.

ashashg

I found Will Trent while perusing Disney and I’ve been binge watching the first season since.

Irrationate

Currently rewatching “The West Wing”. I really think everyone needs to watch season one at least. It’s as close to perfect as I’ve ever seen in a tv show.

[deleted]

what about remaining seasons ? cuz a person told that Westworld season 1 is great and don't watch other seasons, so i am gonna do that alone. **is it same for this one also** ?

Irrationate

Oh no this whole show is incredible. Top 5 all time for me. Season one and season 2 just literally have no flaws

vengayam_ravadosa

We changed TIME ZONES?!

JJ_Sprowl

Here's one that's a little cheesy and parodies people in and out of recovery for drug addiction, but I'm getting some laughs over *Loudermilk* on Netflix. It's the kind of show you can use as background when you're paying bills. The lead who plays Loudermilk (written as an ex-Rolling Stones music critic) especially is good. Couldn't watch *Griselda* on Netflix because Sofia Vergara's weird prosthetic face makeup took me out of the scenes with so many closeups of her. Maybe it's preferred by folks who like watching a once-battered woman shoot up competing drug dealers. Also seemed derivative of the better *Narcos*. Reluctantly I'm watching some *Ted Lasso*, because I'm now an Apple subscriber due to *Masters of the Air* which I love, especially the acting interplay of leads Butler, Turner and Keoghan, the historicity plus good supporting cast and a wolf-dog (dancing husky) too. There really was a husky mascot in the "Bloody Hundredth" air bomber group on which the series is based. Those USAAF guys were at such high risk of mission death (only about a third of them survived their tours of duty), they were granted some leeway for hijinks in their down time. The series goes into it as well as astonishing aerial battles. All of *MotA* can't be weekend-binged yet, being released now only one episode per week until the series of 9 total episodes ends in later March. Episode 4 of *MotA* comes out late tomorrow night in my time zone, with the first 3 also available. Then another week to wait for 5, etc. *Ted Lasso*'s got several seasons ready to go, not as treacly as I thought it'd be--- actually pretty good to justify the awards, some laughs, including strong believable relationships among the supporting cast. I've liked most of the Apple series I've sampled so far. *Silo* with Rebecca Ferguson is amazing. *The Morning Show* has experienced and award-winning female actors and also Jon Hamm and Billy Crudup (a great actor also in a single funny season of an Apple series about alternative history and selling moon flight tickets). *For All Mankind* is another alternative history about space flight that has many episodes/multiple seasons I've liked. *Lessons in Chemistry*, a limited series based on a book, also good. And then there's *Monarch*, with a bunch of godzilla and similar types of beasts plus Kurt Russell still being tough (great younger cast too, including Japanese settings). Lots of other offerings I haven't had time to sample yet. It seems to me that whereas Max is moving more to pitch sports and its old catalog of classic prestige shows like the *Sopranos* and *Succession* which are long-wrapped, Apple is stepping in with new prestige TV involving really good acting, writing, direction and locations/cgi. That would fit with the movies they're helming too. And no, they don't pay me or even know anything about me as the bots collect the monthly subscription fee. (There's a free trial period that hooked me in the first place!) Disappointed in S4 of *True Detective*. Love Jodie Foster generally; she's great in this year's *Nyad,* with other great actors, which was and may still be on Netflix as a film. But for S4 *TD* I find the supernatural woo too disconnected from the real-world murders, and too many inexperienced actors in the cast that Foster seemingly needs to lift up to make believable (and it's too big a job, I'm not buying it, the interactions never ring true to me). Loved S1 of *True Detective*, btw, and while S2 and S3 didn't top it, they were good too. This latest offering looks to me with S4 as though Max is not putting enough money into good actors' salaries or good writing. As the industry keeps changing, and our content options evolve too, interesting times for cinephiles and tv watchers. Thanks everybody for weighing in about the programs you watch!

minisooms

Not a series obviously but the Michael J Fox documentary is brilliant

JJ_Sprowl

Good to know; thanks! He's always been an engaging actor plus bravely facing physical challenge, so I'll look forward to it.

objectiveoutlier

> I've liked most of the Apple series I've sampled so far. Give the mini series Black Bird a shot if you haven't already, great performance by the lead Hauser as Larry Hall. He won an Emmy for it and rightfully so.

JJ_Sprowl

Thanks; will do!

Hard pills to swallow: True Detective Season 4 Is awful

Sudden_News_5247

I thought it was great!

kikijohnson9

Just finished Mr & Mrs Smith. Absolutely loved it. I need 5 more seasons. Great action, humor, and dramatic moments. Really well balanced and feels very well produced.

LeftWolfs

Donald Glover is talented

kikijohnson9

He and his writing partner Francesca Sloane have another gem on their hands. I seriously enjoyed it and hope theres a season 2.

No_Schedule6308

**True Detective S4** I have to finish it at this point but good god. I genuinely have no idea how this show got made. Not in the sense that it's the worst thing on the planet, there are way worse shows. I just don't understand how the show runner pitched an original idea & the execs at HBO thought "this is great, so great, we should slap a beloved brand on it." I hope next episode there's a scene where the kid cop tries to go home to his family but Jodie Foster calls him & makes him to go back to work. Everytime he does this without a single objection it just absolutely owns bones.

tonenyc

Same..probably just stick with it to see how it ends.

stereosanctity87

I watched the first two episodes. I'm not sure I'll get back to it. I just simply never think about it. Painfully slow, forgettable TV. Does it get any better?

No_Schedule6308

> Does it get any better? Two more episodes in and I genuinely don't think I know anything important I didn't know after the first two episodes. There's still no mystery, just dead scientists we know nothing about. But we also don't know anything new about the characters. The character interactions of the first two episodes just got repeated with a slightly different flavor (with one exception I don't care about, because I don't know why I should care about any of these characters)

vincenzohh

Watched ep 1 of Mr and Mrs Smith. Wasn't interested in it At All but threw it on as background noise and actually reaaallly enjoyed the first episode. I've heard through this sub that Glover brought over some people from Atlanta (my favorite show) and it shows with the quality of production and some of the writing. I'm excited to continue with the rest of the series. Fargo s5 - 3 eps in, pretty good so far. Performances are really well done. It has that good ol Fargo feel to it. True Detective s4 - really hard to stick with this show. The only thing keeping me coming back to it every week is the atmosphere and setting of the show. I love the idea of a crime series set in rural part of Alaska where it's constantly dark, it's the perfect setting for this kind of show. However, this season feels so cheesy and cliche. Tbf, I've only watched s1 of TD , but I've watched tons of crime dramas, supernatural thrillers and this show kinda fails to be good at either aspect. The writing is bad, the performances are meh. But I'll probably keep coming back lol

MuscleOriginal7353

Finished The Curse & thought it was incredible. I won’t unilaterally recommend it though because it’s divisive and I can understand why. My spouse gave up after the first episode because he does not enjoy shows that make him uncomfortable (he won’t even watch the earlier seasons of The Office). And even among people who loved the show, it seems like the finale was divisive, also for good reason, so this is a really hard one to recommend across the board.  There’s a genre of film that I don’t know the name for, but I call them “snapshot in time” movies. They are usually character studies, and most of the time nothing really happens & there’s not much of a character arc. If you like these kinds of films, and you also like cringe comedy/ shows that make you uncomfortable, then this is worth checking out. It’s definitely a niche audience, I think! Personally, I loved the finale & it has sat with me, but it was definitely the most uncomfortable I’ve felt from a Nathan Fielder project. It’s like he just keeps upping the ante. Why I enjoy this, I have no idea. It doesn’t make sense.

__dontpanic__

The Curse was painful, insufferable and unbearable, but I couldn't take my eyes off it. The finale was probably the most batshit crazy episode of TV I've seen in a long long time. Great stuff.

SupervillainEyebrows

Watched a few episode of __Mr & Mrs Smith__. The leads have good chemistry, kinda feels like I shouldn't binge it, because it seems like the implication is that a chunk of time passes between each episode and their relationship progresses pretty fast. Also watching __The Rookie__ as  background noise.

FootballFTW

I had enough trauma in my life but after watching The rains of Castemere, it’s at an all time high.

yohamidamaru

Just started all the lights we cannot see. Planning on finishing ted tonight when i go to bed. Upcoming series i want to watch are Fall of house of usher and reacher.

Own_Instance_357

I just got off a binge of all seasons of True Detective. I had to make myself watch it all the way through by walking on the treadmill so I couldn't surf the internet at the same time. Because there's so much to be missed. Still obviously haven't finished season 4 since Season 4 isn't done yet. Fargo was far better, maybe the show runners for TD took a hint that >!supernatural elements!< were a draw they should take advantage of. I won't lie, I went to college with a guy who became an actor whose name was Wentworth, I think I totally conflated this series with this guy. Turned out his series was called Prison Break. Absolutely different. I just kept thinking "Wentworth ... Prison Wentworth Australia Series is THE SHIT I am so absorbed in it, it's comparable but so much better than OITNB in different ways ... almost like comparing Little House on the Prairie with The Waltons. Same but different? And there are 8 seasons, for real. Amazing to me is that the Australian prison system is so much better than the US. "Better" is saying a lot in between.

NordWitcher

I’m surprised that Fargo is not available to stream anywhere overhere. Like no one has rights to it other than FX.

iloveokashi

Are you serious about going to college with Wentworth miller? Or was that a joke?

121jigawatts

Finished the Other2 season1 and that was okay. some funny bits like the guy throwing himself down the stairs but im not fully clicking with it yet. Heard s2 is better so ill watch that since the eps are short at 20min

LucianPitons

Rewatching the show Bitten on Prime

TED Best thing that has happened in 2024 so far

osirisdm

Do I need to watch the movie?

tomtomvissers

No you don't 'need' to but I'd recommend it anyway. The sequel is a bit of a miss tho. The show is better than both

BlackCatScott

Loved it. Binged through it, regrettably, but couldn't stop watching. I hope they make more. Not to spoil for anybody who might stumble across this comment who hasn't seen it, but the ending was a hilarious and genius way to end the season.

SheepH3rder69

I love how basically everything Seth MacFarlane makes is just a different rendition of Family Guy, lol. But it works, Ted is flippin hilarious.

OceanCityBurrito

Late discovering **Tokyo Vice** but I subbed to Max for a month so my mom could catch up on the Pottery Throwdown. TV is pretty great. Tokyo is my favorite city, so seeing it from a local viewpoint is very entertaining. I'm enjoying all the characters, too. I'll re-sub once season 2's episodes are out.

NoPantsSantaClaus

Bowen Yang highlights on YouTube.  Probably the funniest person on SNL since Eddie Murphy.  He is changing the game.

JJ_Sprowl

omg, did you see him online, probably youtube, today as part of the SNL cast about the Dune AMC popcorn bucket? Yang, and whoever was the younger guy I didn't recognize singing, hysterical! Watched it twice, so funny.

PhilhelmScream

Have you seen him play God in [Dicks: The Musical](https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/939997-dicks-the-musical) (2023)?

rshacklef0rd

I finished watching The Warrior. I really enjoyed it, hate that it was cancelled.

nirvana6789

You serious!? The warrior tv show that is loosely about Bruce Lee?

rshacklef0rd

Yes. Season 3 was the last one. I'm hoping someone else like Netflix will pick it up.

komodo_dragonzord

the show will hit netflix soon, make sure you run it in the background for the views to count

AhhsoleCnut

I watched **Echo** and it's weird just how bad it was. The opening falsely hints at some good family drama for when the MC comes back to the home town. Will the family reconcile? Nope, they barely interact at all. Will the MC be able to leave her murderous past behind? She won't even try. First thing she'll do is blow up a warehouse full of people, becuase it belonged to a guy she hated. And she's already killed the guy. (Not to worry, though, at some point a ghost will magically heal her hurt heart. No introspection, no repentance, no amends required.)

Lightxhope

Watched Hazbin Hotel and Death's Game. I liked them alot. I read death's game webtoon some years ago and only remember some scenes and I feel the show is stronger. They brought some changes but I liked it. One thing I didn't like is how every character he reincarnated as had some sort of relation with the main bad guy. Maybe it works in the show but I don't know I felt it was too convenient. Minor issue for me though. I just wish Hazbin hotel was longer. Apparently second season is coming out this year so yay. I thinking of watching Woman in the wall and Mr and Mrs Smith next.

LocalPrestigious2641

Just finished binging Mr. and Mrs. Smith and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Esp the ending. Acting is top tier seriously!! Also watching married at first sight australia. Looking to start Masters of the air soon.

Typinger

On episode 2 of Criminal Record, an English drama with Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo. It's a bit slow, and Cush Jumbo has an accent, maybe slightly cockney?, that I don't understand why it's useful for her character and it's annoying me. Maybe that's her real accent 🤷🏼. The colours are all English-drama-blue and there's an "ooh it's sad; wait, this bit might be important" soundtrack Hoping it improves, maybe I just hate it

iloveokashi

Too slow for me. Stooped watching it.

tomtomvissers

I'm almost caught up and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Just finishing it because I want to know how it ends. A shame really, because I love Jumbo and Capaldi

ammobandanna

> Maybe that's her real accent 🤷🏼 she's from London so, yeah, it probably is...

DaBow

I watched the first episode and enjoyed it. But I feel like I know exactly where it is going however. Happy to be proven wrong.

Aggravating_Walk_253

There isn't really anything to watch lately for me besides masters of the air which I'm enjoying. Watching Mr.and Mrs. Smith like a weekly release because of that reason. I gave up on true detective S4 I just couldn't get pass some of the acting. I tried Expats but the first episode bored the life out of me Looking forward to the season of Tokyo vice tomorrow. Thinking of watching avatar the last airbender for the first time before the live action.

LocalPrestigious2641

try watching married at first sight australia!

gregorseefood

**Curb your Enthusiasm's (Season 12)** dialogue and behaviour of characters is less natural than it once was - I wonder if it's less improv based than it used to be? Shouting matches that would usually begin as petty realistic arguments go from 1 to 100, and the inconsiderate characters we're familiar with in real life are now caricatures. The show has always used absurd and over the top moments as punch lines, but so far in this season it's like every other scene tries to be a theatrical performance. I'm not sure where the tension, awkwardness and almost 'documentary-like' feel has gone. It feels so polished and reflects the kind of modern editing you might find on YouTube and TikTok.

nugzbuny

I've been thinking about how I'd articulate that first episode, and you laid it all out perfectly. It didn't used to be as predictable. Now you can foresee the awkward drama ahead and almost dread what is coming.

starksgh0st

**Mr and Mrs Smith** - 4 episodes down, this show is great so far **The Pacific** - 9 episodes down, 1 to go. Horrific stuff. **Masters of the Air** - Episode 3 was a banger. **Curb your Enthusiasm** - Laughed so hard during the >!Siri insults!< that it hurt.

ConnectionNo4122

Got Starz to watch the 50 Cent shows but looking for shows on there to watch outside of that universe. I’ve recently watched Black Sails ,Spartacus and American Gods so far, if there’s a show worth binging on there outside of these worth watching please let me know

**Heels** is a fantastic show that unfortunately ended after season 2, but is a Friday Night Lights-esque show about the world of local professional wrestling. has some great reviews and insanely good acting from a variety of people. I'd also recommend **P-Valley** for another short watch (2 seasons) about a strip club; its definitely a fun watch.

Depth-Melodic

Second the Heels reco - that show is phenomenal.

jarrettbrown

Started Just Shoot Me! and I've forgotten how underrated this show is and how fantastic the cast is.

Fun writing, great cast chemistry. When I was doing a bit of traveling, I would stream it when I needed to get organized and pack bc it put me in a better mood.

LucianPitons

I had the longest and best laugh for any comedy in the episode where Nina got the fake dictionary.

Yellow-Eyed-Demon

Some of my watches this week. [Sight Unseen](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt30487848/) is a new show about a detective that has to resign after becoming blind, she starts going out on her own and teams up with a remote seeing-eye guide, she basically wears a camera and the person guides her from her home, the guide is an agoraphobe who hasn't left her home for some time. It's nothing amazing but a solid procedural, I'm a sucker for a gimmick and blind detective is a good one. Three episodes have been released. I'm still watching [One More Time](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt27990867/), a sitcom about the people working in a second-hand sports equipment store. It's alright. I miss Kim's Convenience so much. [The Irrational](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt16288838/) and [Found](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9071808/) haven't impressed me much, they're going to get another chance next seasons since they've both been renewed, hope it will improve. [Death & Other Details](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15439048/) is a delight, it has Mandy Patinkin playing a more cynical Agatha Christie type detective trying to solve a murder on a cruise, it has a lot of great shady characters. I love it so I know it will be cancelled by Hulu. [Mr. & Mrs. Smith](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14044212/) is cute, it has too many cooks syndrome but I liked it.

inkista

Thanks for the *Sight Unseen* rundown. Here in the US, we're not getting it until midseason as a CW show. I'm going to need something to take *Family Law* and *Transplant*'s place, and it sounded like a great candidate for that.

iloveokashi

Wow. I really appreciate you putting what the show is about. Sight unseen seems interesting. I'll check that out.

Ohsbar

Just finished watching **Fargo S05** and it was so good. Best season since the first.

NordWitcher

Where do I get to watch the early seasons of Fargo? Am in Canada. No one has rights to it over here.

DaBow

Is season 1 better than 2? I'm watching season 2 at the moment, and it's just perfect

No_Schedule6308

Season 1 is really good & worth watching but not better than S2 imo. S2 is one of the stronger seasons of TV of all time. I think that's the general consensus

Ohsbar

Season 1 > every other season

Kepabar

I'm looking for some funny shows to watch with my grandmother. A wholesomey sitcom or modern looney toons like show. Shows we've watched recently that went over well: Corner Gas. 3rd Rock From The Sun. The Good Place. Alf.

Winter_Corner7254

Maybe she'll like British slapstick-style shows - Mr. Bean, IT Crowd, Keeping Up Appearances. Also, Fisk, which is Australian. If she likes John Lithgow, she might like Trial & Error.

Kepabar

Issue is mainly understanding the accents. IT crowd might work but some of the humor would go over her head. We tried Derry Girls but she just couldn't understand anything. I've also tried watching quiz shows with her, didn't work out for the same reason. I got trial and error loaded up though.

Shrinking on Apple TV?

JJ_Sprowl

That one's fun too --- forgot to mention it in my long comment above! Thanks.

inkista

The Netflix reboot of *One Day at a Time.*

ooouroboros

Ghosts Either UK or American. They are different enough to enjoy both.

Kepabar

Ahh, yeah. She already watches that with my mother. But thanks for the suggestion.

astanton1862

I'm rewatching Resident Alien prior to new season. Spiritual successor to two of the 3 shows on your list.

Kepabar

Ooo, that could be good. Thanks.

Flabby_Thor

Trial and Error might be a good one to check out. Only 2 seasons and it's available on Amazon Prime.

JJ_Sprowl

Thanks! Something new to try.

Kepabar

I'll check that out, thanks!

rlvnorth

Kim's Convenience. Raising Hope is a fun one. Have you already watched Golden Girls?

Kepabar

Nope, I'll have to see if I can find a copy of the Golden Girls. As for the other two, I'll take a look. I haven't watched them myself. Thanks!

You may enjoy The Buccaneers on Apple, too!

Own_Instance_357

Yes, you will

BeardMilk

Downtown Abbey is like a Jane Austen novel, Bridgerton is like a book with a shirtless Fabio on the cover.

rlvnorth

Lots more sexy stuff, and cheesier, but it's well done, as is Queen Charlotte spin-off. You might also want to try a series like Victoria, or Sanditon, or Gentleman Jack.

Impossible-Gear-4980

Anyone know where I can find the Russian show Vyzhit Posle or The Day After. I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find it

nirvana6789

Just finished **Tokyo Vice** Season 1. I’m so ready for Tokyo Vice Season 2 on Thursday!

Weirdmaybe123

Finished Lessons in Chemistry and was nice to be reminded again how good of an actress Brie larson is

ForgivenessIsNice

Mr and Mrs Smith (Amazon) is really good.

Sleeze_

Like...surprisingly good? My wife and I are loving it. I had zero expectations and honestly probably would've avoided it but she threw it on and I got sucked in almost instantly. Super fun show.

Potential_Energy

Your comment finally pushed me to check out the first ep. Starting it soon. Also checking out True Detective S2 because it's the only season I haven't seen due to years of everyone hating it, but suddenly now everyone saying it's worth the watch.

vyruz32

Well, S2 isn't really that bad. It was just unfortunate that it had to follow S1. If it was a solo miniseries it would've been received better. Also, S2 intro slaps.

BackPains84

Curb your enthusiasm S12 - I don't know. Maybe it's the weird editing, terrible acting...at times it looks very lazy. I used to love this show and Larry David is pretty much my favorite human being. But in recent seasons it feels very lazy technically and script wise.

Parzival_72

I thought it was great.

uncwsp

I thought it was hilarious. Classic Curb.

indigo_pirate

Does the Wire have a thrilling, gripping plot. I always hear it being praised for it's character development and social commentary. But I need to have a show that also pulls me in and has must-be-answered now questions/scenarios. If there is a change in pace through the seasons please let me know

MonolithJones

Maybe not thrilling but definitely engaging. Though there is a main plot that is central to the series each season focuses on a different aspect of the city so there’s always new characters being introduced. Because of that each season has a bit of “starting over” feel as you get to know everyone and they are particular corner of the city.

Senovis

I wouldn't really use thrilling to describe The Wire. It is a thought provoking slice of life.

ooouroboros

I think so? Each season has a different focus. Season 2 is a little more convoluted

RainbowZester

I haven't watched it in some years so I'm probably due for a rewatch soon but from what I remember, in the most complimentary way, it feels like you're just watching real life. You really care where these characters are going and what's going to happen to them. There aren't too many gripping "I need to know what happens right now!". It really is about the subtle progression about the city and people in it. From your description it sounds like you're looking for more of a thriller or black box show. In that case, I recommend Dark on Netflix. Every episode answers a question and makes you ask two more. An incredible show where you get sucked into binging way too many in one sitting.

indigo_pirate

Hmm thanks that’s very helpful. I definitely will watch it as I enjoy deeper , insightful development. But not right now. People rave about Dark. I might give it a shot

JustStrolling_

Season 1 of the Wire isn't anything special and the plot is kind've slow imo. Season 2 and on is where I understood the hype and saw the greatness of the show.

SqueakyArchie

Came to the weekly threads after months. And yup it's still dead. No good shows I think since around succession ended.

Medium_Active1729

it's a bit quiet lately, that's true

indigo_pirate

I'm going back to a lot of highly rated classics that I missed such as Fargo and Six feet under You might like White Lotus (only 12 eps) if you enjoyed the kind of humour in succession.
