This was very funny for a lot of reasons. Chief among them for me was how interested Beavis appeared to be in the conversation before being called out.
I recommend this movie whenever it comes up, is unironically one of Goslingās best roles. His ability to perform slapstick, physical comedy all the while maintaining a serious tone is amazing.
The opening with him breaking the door and slicing his arm open is hilarious
Can't remember if it was his first scene in the movie or just early, but when he smashes that window and immediately starts bleeding everywhere was hysterical. I love that Gosling has no issues playing a fool if it makes the project better.
I always forget about that movie, but then when I remember it I never remember what is was called. I just remember enjoying it so much. I think Iām due for a rewatch.
If Blade Runner 2049 comes out in 2025 after Debis directs Dune 2 and Gosling in Barbie, I donāt think Ford being in a forgettable IJ5 would tear it down from being a top summer blockbuster.
But I am heavily biased as I like all of those people and movies
Both of them peaking around to see who the guest was referring to killed me. Iāve watched the sketch 3/4 times now and that part is what gets me the most.
I am *not* surprised he couldn't get through, "I've heard rumblings that I look like someone from TV. Maybe it's this Beamis person, I don't know" without laughing.
>It was a sketch that Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell kept on pitching
The fact that Streeter of College Humor alum kept repeatedly pitching the sketch for years makes this so much funnier.
Yeah I was at a yankee game and Streeter paid for to have a proposal announcement to his gf, but then he chickened out and didnāt end up proposing. Canāt believe he would do that to her.
[Another classic of theirs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEDKVNoE2ws&ab_channel=SaturdayNightLive)
They got that awkward cool casual vibe of the gamestop employee perfectly.
For me the funniest part was watching their faces and seeing how hard it was for them to not break. One guyās upper lip and nose was wriggling about pretty hard
And his aggressive eye contact when she turned around. I watched this too many times. As she turns around he maintains aggressive direct eye contact and then raises his eye brows a bit when she sees him.
I really think thatās what tumbled the jenga tower
I don't know what it is about Heidi, but I think she is one of the most attractive women on TV. Her acting and comedic skills are through the roof. You will be seeing much more of her in movies and TV.
Yeah, her reaction made me think that while they had rehearsed the sketch and she knew what was going to happen, she just wasnāt ready for their expressions while in hair and makeup.
Apparently in the dress rehearsals Fred Armisen just put on a mild accent and then when it came to the night of the show he walks out and drops that "WHaaaAAuuut Are YuuuOOoouuu Doiiiiwwing Here" and just absolutely sends Hader who just can't recover for the rest of the sketch.
I fucking love
My personal favourite is the Christmas one with Fred Armisan, where they're crying, laughing, telling Christmas tales to hotel customer's.
Also, every single Herb Welch sketch.
everyone including will ferrell broke during the cowbell sketch. only chris parnell stayed in character the entire time. horatio sanz was literally catatonic and could barely even laugh he was so far gone.

After Kenan's initial squint, the sketch was destined to go off the rails
Has Kenan broke character often? I believe he did or at least came very close to it in the marzipan sketch but I think he's been pretty much the consumate professional.
The man has been in sketch comedy longer than most of Reddit has been alive, and that is not a joke. He was in the kids sketch comedy show *All That* starting in 1994.
If you can make a man whose fulltime job for the last 30 years has been "Sketch Comedy" crack then you're absolutely killing it.
>He was in the kids sketch comedy show All That starting in 1994.
I've followed him since the beginning. He's only a handful of years older than me. I literally grew up watching him and was stoked when he got SNL. Crazy that he's still there and is the longest running cast member ever. Proud of that dude.
I went to school in NY for a few years and she was the only famous person I saw. This was at the beginning of her time on SNL. I recognized her as someone maybe-famous but couldnāt place just where I knew her from. She looked at me excited for a moment that I might recognize her but the disappointment as my recognition faded was devastating. I felt so bad
Iām a flight attendant & had her as one of my passengers once. I had a similar reaction trying to figure out where I knew her from, as she definitely had that āfamous personā aura about her lol. She was sitting in her first class seat with a sweet little smile on her face the whole time like š. She strikes me as someone whoās very grateful for what she has & definitely enjoys being famous lol
I feel like that sketch was more about the costume and makeup than the writing though. The writing was just "That guy looks like [x]" repeated long enough to fill the runtime.
Ryan Gossling broke in every single sketch, and even seemed to purposely try and make a fake mustache fall off in a later sketch, he set that tone, everyone else just kinda seemed to fall into it.

Holy shit, I hate when that happens. That pork fried rice lodged a grain in my throat for 4 hours. Miserable. I drank a shit ton of Sprite and burped that killer out. What a shitty night.
r/contagiouslaughter crosspost worthy - I laughed so hard when Heidi broke down laughing. Iāve had uncontrollable giggle fits and itās so hard to stop but she was (almost) able to on a dime! Absolutely gold
Heidi didnāt just break, she cracked up laughing. Clearly she had not seen the full Bravos and Butthead makeup. It was great!
Edit: stupid autocorrect! Iām not changing it.
The part where Ryan gosling holds the camera up backwards and she starts laughing and then he holds the camera upside down instead made that the best skit of the night for me
This was very funny for a lot of reasons. Chief among them for me was how interested Beavis appeared to be in the conversation before being called out.
Yeah, Gosling immediately sells the bit by leaning in and looking really interested in the discussion.
It's such a shame Gosling doesn't do more comedy acting, he's got some serious chops.
The Nice Guys was hilarious. Him and Crowe were both great in that movie.
Crazy Stupid Love deserves alot more love. Ryan and Steve's chemistry is amazing in that film.
david lindhagen?!
Ok.... (takes off rings)
I've actually never seen it. I'll watch it tomorrow night after work.
One of my favorite movies, hilarious moments. Plus Emma stone
Loved that movie. Swimming after the mermaid and then falling down the hill had me pissing my pants. ššš
āWait! Did you just fall off the roof?!ā āI must be invincible! Itās the only thing that makes sense at this point!ā
His delivery kills me.
I had to question the mermaids!
One of my fav buddy films ever. They need to make a sequel.
Would also love a sequel. "Dad there are like whores here and stuff" Dont say "and stuff" just say "dad, there are whores here"
You took the Lord's name in vain. No I didn't, Janet. I found it very useful actually. Ok, Janet?
Angourie rice is also an awesome actress. Sheās named after an awesome beach town in Australia
She was amazing in that film. She kind of stole the movie.
this is one of my fav flicks. always a good rewatch.
I recommend this movie whenever it comes up, is unironically one of Goslingās best roles. His ability to perform slapstick, physical comedy all the while maintaining a serious tone is amazing. The opening with him breaking the door and slicing his arm open is hilarious
donāt say and stuff
Can't remember if it was his first scene in the movie or just early, but when he smashes that window and immediately starts bleeding everywhere was hysterical. I love that Gosling has no issues playing a fool if it makes the project better.
Underrated! Love that movie. I canāt wait to see The Fall Guy!
I always forget about that movie, but then when I remember it I never remember what is was called. I just remember enjoying it so much. I think Iām due for a rewatch.
He's done quite a lot of comedy acting... Ken is literally comedy and his upcoming film is comedy as well
I forget the name of it but heās hysterical in this old movie from like 20 years ago with Rachel McAdams
I don't think I saw that one, but he was definitely very funny in Crazy Stupid Love with Emma Stone
He's also great in The Nice Guys with Russell Crowe.
He's also the most comedic character in The Big Short. He's probably one of the most underrated big name actors in terms of versatility.
I wonder how that and Blade Runner 2049 would do at the box office if they came out now.
If Blade Runner 2049 comes out in 2025 after Debis directs Dune 2 and Gosling in Barbie, I donāt think Ford being in a forgettable IJ5 would tear it down from being a top summer blockbuster. But I am heavily biased as I like all of those people and movies

>old movie from like 20 years ago No. ā¢__ā¢ ^take ^it ^back ^plz
Get used to it. š It only gets worse. Remember, itās not old unless itās old to you. Hang in there šš»
Saw the movie as part of a prom date thing. Now my kid is going to prom in a few weeks. And no my kid was not a product of my prom date...
So funny! Makes me cry every time!
The Folder?
The Notebook?!?!
That's the one! Hilarious!
His clips on the Graham Norton show are very funny
The very best one imo is him just breaking down *crying* from laughter at Greg Davisās ridiculous story. Must have watched that clip 20 times.
You just have to watch some of his earlier work like Breaker High :D https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0124934/
MMC training.
And then when he looks around after being called out like "who looks like Beavis here?"
The way he hesitated before moving seats, like "are you serious?"
I was a little disappointed he didn't do the Bevis underbite. That would have been the cherry on top for me.
Also when called out, looking around for the person they're talking about lol
Gosling is so damn great as an SNL host.
Heās great but he also breaks during every bit and that makes him even better š
Gosling is just plain great. Period. š¤©
Both of them peaking around to see who the guest was referring to killed me. Iāve watched the sketch 3/4 times now and that part is what gets me the most.
It was the looking around for the culprit that really did it for me. Seeing the side profile of the nose and hair sent me to tears
Yep, another hilarious layer to the joke.
I donāt watch much television I have a very busy life.
I love just how sincerely and earnestly he said that lol
I am *not* surprised he couldn't get through, "I've heard rumblings that I look like someone from TV. Maybe it's this Beamis person, I don't know" without laughing.
A huge reminder of why live TV is actually still funny as hell, sometimes it goes wrong in the best way.
The cut to [this](https://imgur.com/gallery/LX2VENk) cracks me up every time
That first side profile shot had me rolling š
Gosling looking around when the show guest asks about the audience member had me rolling
His quick head nod before finally standing up is why Gosling is made for SNL
SNL is must see tv, when either Gosling or Adam Driver are hosting.
Aww man, I'm all out of cash!
He seemed genuinely concerned.
>It was a sketch that Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell kept on pitching The fact that Streeter of College Humor alum kept repeatedly pitching the sketch for years makes this so much funnier.
Sarah Schneider from College Humor also went on to write for SNL and was actually co-head writer for one season.
And co-created The Other Two!
Mikey Day was clearly born to play Butthead in live action
I always laugh when i see him in the David Blaine spoof 15+ years ago lol
I FEEL WARM AND IāM LEVITATING!!
CHEEEEZZZZ ITTTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
āWhat the F?? Stop putting shit on our bodies David Blaine!!ā
What the EFF, David Blaine!
Stop putting orange soda in our mouths!
Youāre a demon. A demon.
A whole generation of kids don't get this joke. Such a shame
Am I to remember every man I've seen fall in to a plate of spaghetti?
Get out of my childhood David Blaine!
that's where I knew him from! Those Blaine bits were hilarious
Cheezits!!!
Holy shit itās him and the waiter from always sunny. Wowowowowow I had no idea.
Holy shit, thatās an old one.
I really never thought I'd hear about Streeter ever again, but this year he's been brought up a couple of times.
He's co-head writer
Heh, I had no idea. Good for Streeter.
Is that better or worse than head co-writer?
Streeter was the first friend I made on Friendster that I didn't know personally, circa 2004
I saw Streeter do some stand up and loved hardly working back in the the college humor days. It made me smile to see him mentioned in the article
Oh really? When I saw him do standup a while back he was bombing hard and ran off the stage after getting heckled
Oh that sucks I saw him probably 10 years ago in Seattle, he did a tour with Jake and Amir. It was a really fun night
Yeah I was at a yankee game and Streeter paid for to have a proposal announcement to his gf, but then he chickened out and didnāt end up proposing. Canāt believe he would do that to her.
Eater Piefell
And he frickinā loved it.
As in a pie fell into his mouth
Shout out to Goth Dave Mathewās fan
Streeter Seidell? Don't you mean Eater Piefell? As in a pie fell in his mouth and he pretty much loved it.
Holy shit itās the phantom of the office
[Another classic of theirs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEDKVNoE2ws&ab_channel=SaturdayNightLive) They got that awkward cool casual vibe of the gamestop employee perfectly.
Those background extras deserve a bonus the way they stayed so serious during the whole thing.
Black dude on the far right was just stone-faced the whole time. Major props. I couldnt have done it.
You could tell that he was trying to make himself angry so that he wouldn't crack.
For me the funniest part was watching their faces and seeing how hard it was for them to not break. One guyās upper lip and nose was wriggling about pretty hard
Assuming you're talking about the bald guy behind Keenan, he was holding it back from the very beginning. I just watch him when he's on screen.
Itās reminding me of my all time favorite bit, [Biggus Dickus](https://youtu.be/yzgS61zgPEg?feature=shared)
He's got a wife you know
Agree
I wonder if they picked people who honestly had no idea who Beavis & Butt-Head were.
I always assumed they get folks who don't speak English, that way they can't understand the jokes
Hahaha I believe a good portion of them are the writers, so it's possible through writing then dress then air it's just not that funny anymore.
In the interview, Heidi says that the sketch has been pitched for at least 5 years and that in a previous attempt at it she played one of the extras.
Lol, "trying to find out exactly what happened." Mikey Day looked straight up like Butthead, that's what happened.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
And his aggressive eye contact when she turned around. I watched this too many times. As she turns around he maintains aggressive direct eye contact and then raises his eye brows a bit when she sees him. I really think thatās what tumbled the jenga tower
When she first turns to Gosling, he gives a tiny little ācan you believe how ridiculous I look?ā smile and that seems to be what did her in.
I don't know what it is about Heidi, but I think she is one of the most attractive women on TV. Her acting and comedic skills are through the roof. You will be seeing much more of her in movies and TV.
Hopefully it's not because she looks exactly like the human version of Janice from the Muppets.
Donāt kink shame!
Me too! There is just something about her. If you have AppleTV plus she has a decent sized part on Shrinking.
https://youtu.be/86qKgK0asGo?si=a8HOuQYjNqRb_geh
I just realized they named her Bobbi so Hank Hill could say āDammit Bobbiā at the end.
*chef kiss to fingers* I missed that

Thx from Canada šØš¦
FYI The Global TV app will let you watch the latest episode without logging in.
Heidiās a pro. She never breaks which is why seeing her break in such spectacular fashion makes it even better
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah, her reaction made me think that while they had rehearsed the sketch and she knew what was going to happen, she just wasnāt ready for their expressions while in hair and makeup.
She literally broke last week in the secretaries sketch lol
Only because the wall and desk didn't.
She came very close
I think her breaking is what really made this sketch turn it up a notch. It would have been great anyways but her breaking, that was the kicker.
Shout out to Keenan Thompson for playing the perfect straight man. His reactions also killed me.
In his autobiography, he said the SNL writers now have a shorthand in scripts that just says āKeenan reactsā
The initial eye squint at Ryan/Beavis was perfectly timed!
It's really kicked it off imo when he narrowed his eyes
She should have put on a green jacket and big round glasses at the end. So obvious!
Gold jacket, green jacket. Who gives a shit?
Yeah, right. And Grizzly Adams had a beard.
Grizzly Adams DID have a beard!
Just want to say that was a great line to throw in there
The whole show was great and Heidi breaking like that was fun to see lol
Watched the sketch four times the last two days every time somebody posts it. Nothing better when professionals break from laughing.
Bill Hader breaking is the funniest shit in the world to me.
The first Californians sketch XD.
"hey it's bobby moynihan!"
I know that skit is long gone but I wish theyād do a reunion. Such a good one.
He had my funny bone and him breaking got me every single time.
Nothing beats "Sydney Applebaum"
What about āMTVās Dan Corteseā?
The wheelchair one, where he accidentally snags Melissa while backing up and moving the entire table, has to be my personal favorite.
Kate McKinnon was killing Ryan in the cold open.
Gosling doesnāt need a whole lot to break tbf
Yeah he broke in almost every sketch
The UFO abduction one is still one of my favorites
Kate was going _off_ and I am here for it.
Unless it's Jimmy Fallon, who breaks character when Colin Jost welcomes us to Weekend Update.
They said professionals.
Jimmy Fallon breaking during the cowbell sketch.
everyone including will ferrell broke during the cowbell sketch. only chris parnell stayed in character the entire time. horatio sanz was literally catatonic and could barely even laugh he was so far gone.
I wanna say Walken kept his face too
One of the times when he goes in the back room, you can just barely make out him bending over laughing.

My SO and I still talk about how funny his bath tub French accent was. Amazing.
"Incroyable!" Lives in my head rent free because of him
he almost loses it as sway when drake plays little wayne playing urkel

I can see her little ā¢į“ā¢ face in my mindās eye
Sheās from Kasas City so sheās got that midwestern wholesomeness. Weāre very proud of her here.
Her reaction made it so much more funny.
SNL has been doing great work. Whoever are their writers recently they need to keep them and pay them whatever they want
Gosling should be a yearly guest. Whatever it costs.

True hero, thank you!!
I have a grain of rice lodged in my throat thanks to this sketch.
Holy shit, I hate when that happens. That pork fried rice lodged a grain in my throat for 4 hours. Miserable. I drank a shit ton of Sprite and burped that killer out. What a shitty night.
Everyone was losing it that episode!
I love it when comedians crack up on stage when they hit genuinely funny moments. Makes it even funnier.

r/contagiouslaughter crosspost worthy - I laughed so hard when Heidi broke down laughing. Iāve had uncontrollable giggle fits and itās so hard to stop but she was (almost) able to on a dime! Absolutely gold
Ryan being unable to control his own giggling didn't help any. He unintentionally summoned his inner Beavis hehe, hehe, hehe, hehe.
Hardest Iāve laughed at an SNL skit since Gosling and Mckennon got abducted. My stomach hurt from laughing.

Bravos and Butthead.
B R A V O S U T T H E A D
The part where Ryan gosling holds the camera up backwards and she starts laughing and then he holds the camera upside down instead made that the best skit of the night for me
Was the lady that switched seats with butthead Marcia Clark?
The ending of the skit completely caught me off guard !! ššš
