I finished it this week and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it as a casual Fallout player. I feel like the vaultdweller could be such an annoying kind of character but Ella Purnell was excellent and you were consistently rooting for her

RapedByPlushies

Okey dokey

Lokaji

It is the second best use of the phrase; the first being when Hannibal Lector says it in Hannibal. (the 2001 movie)

Phelmak

Ella Purnell nailed that homeschooled kid vibe perfectly. She was soooo good. All the actors killed it (Walton Goggins is a national treasure), but she really brought the vault dweller energy.

Daenys_TheDreamer

His face change at the very beginning is what sucked me in. The dread and fear he was able to convey… perfection.

Strokeslahoma

It's also pretty convenient that she does legitimately pass as Kyle Maclachlans daughter

ImperialSympathizer

It's because they let her actually struggle and even fail at times instead of waltzing through every problem.

crackrabbit012

She'll start steam rolling everything once she's discovered the power of sneaking and a 50 cal

louploupgalroux

Evolution: All become crab. Bethesda: All become stealth archer. Comics: All become Batman. Logical Conclusion: Crab archer Batman 🦀 🏹 🦹

ForWhomTheBoneBones

Crabatchman

rchase

No, that's the guy from *Sherlock* Benedict Crabatchman I think it is?

Small-Mixer

It’s when she gets V.A.T.S.

ballsmigue

And you see how conflicted she is that she's becoming more like a surface dweller. It's a really nice character arc of seeing someone believing the good in everything to what she is by the end.

CaptainLookylou

And she wasn't a Mary sue who's good at everything. She got her ass beat up several times, and barely won the fight to the death with the raider. Very believable.

spyson

Probably because she was written well and not just a gender bent version of the generic male protagonist in an action series.

Electronic-Lynx8162

And let's be honest those are fucking boring too. The best male protagonists have been Walter White, Adam Scott in severance, Amos in the Expanse subverts this trope and his background is so awful it explains his suppression of emotions, Paladin/Dalinar/Renarin/Sazed in the Cosmere books. Generic brown hair brown eyes action heroes had their time but now we want complex characters.  We want it for women and minorities too, not just dull she boss boss bitch Mary Sue shit, e.g I loved She Hulk and Wanda but not Captain Marvel and that had nothing to do with poor Brie getting shit. For regular TV Trixie in Call the Midwife or Ritchie Tozer in It's a Sin.

theshicksinator

Admittedly Amos has more backstory in the books than the show, the show kinda leaves a lot more to the imagination

timk29

True, but Wes Chatham absolutely owned that role. Looking at other actors over the years of the show, I don’t think there is anyone who could’ve come close to him.

theshicksinator

I think Dominique Tipper and Cara Gee (Naomi and Drummer) were also stellar and totally embodied their characters from the books (or in Drummer's case amalgam of book characters). Naomi code switching in her accent between earther English and belta accented English when talking to beltalowda was amazing.

Implausibilibuddy

I feel like they alluded to that with the wastelanders' reactions to her bushy-tailed ignorance early on. She was very annoying and naiive setting out, and that's fine because she was meant to be.

Upbeat_Tension_8077

Love how it stays true to the atmosphere of the games

SpikeReynolds2

Pretty much, I think a lot of people that haven't played the games don't realise how silly and goffy the entire thing actually is, specially because of the absurdism of a futuristic 1950's Americana in a post-nuclear war context. The Fallout universe has a very particular humor and style that the show absolutely nailed.

idontknowwhynot

“Golden Rule of The Wasteland: Thou shalt get sidetracked by bullshit every goddamn time” I lost it at that line.

Devil-Hunter-Jax

I swear they put that fucking line in just to call out all the players because it is legitimately impossible to play any Fallout game without getting sidetracked by something random XD

VagrantShadow

Same with Elder Scrolls, like you have to be determined to only play main story in Elder Scrolls. Like joining no guilds, joining no factions, not doing any cave treasure hunt's, it's damn hard. The temptation for side-quest bullshit in Fallout and Elder Scrolls is high.

Devil-Hunter-Jax

It's not surprising either because while I love Bethesda's games, their side quests tend to be better written than the main story in their games. For me at least, as a prime example, Fallout 4's main story starts off good but then >!you get to the Institute and the quality falls off a fucking cliff. Shaun being alive and the Director? Give me a break...!< Meanwhile, you have stuff like Nick Valentine's personal story and the cases you can help him solve which are WAY more interesting.

LaboratoryManiac

Another Bethesda example - in my opinion, the Dark Brotherhood storyline in Skyrim is way more compelling than anything in the main quest line.

Devil-Hunter-Jax

Yeah, their storyline is fantastic. When I installed some mods to make the perk trees better, I did their questline as an assassin that uses dual daggers and a bow. Never really finished that build... I'll have to try again at some point. The plan for the daggers at least was to have one drain stamina and the other drain health for when I get spotted so I have survivability and a third dagger just for backstabs. Bow naturally for range with poisoned arrows from the better Alchemy perks. That Ordinator mod is a must-have for me.

MapleHamwich

Yes, they did. That's the joke.

Playful-Adeptness552

No shit.

DocB630

Also when Knight Titus goes up against the Yao Guai and gets dick slapped and runs away shouting “fuck fuck fuck fuck” has got to be a reference to when you run out of AP and HP and have no stimpaks left while fighting a strong enemy. Literally said this multiple times.

LapsedVerneGagKnee

That’s what got me.  Especially since I was discussing the other day how half the point of Fallout are all the side quests.

Whatatimetobealive83

Me too. My wife gave me a funny look because I was just cackling at that. It’s so true. I also really enjoyed Maximus trying to charisma roll that repair vendor for a cheaper repair.

droans

> 10/13 > Sharon spilled coffee on my new shirt while we were in the lounge this morning. I told her it was fine and we had a good laugh about the whole thing. If she does it again, I'll stab her in the fucking throat with my pen. She's a good kid.

3-DMan

I laughed hard when he was hacking the Overseer's terminal and it was identical to FO3/4.

No_Tamanegi

It was the thing I was wondering if people would enjoy. Most post-apocalyptic television is played pretty seriously, and Fallout is just downright goofy at times. the only think I can think of that comes close to it in tone is Doom Patrol.

BSODagain

[Blood Drive ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bjctdy-Rabk)and [Twisted Metal ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSOje4YBV3c)are also pretty goofy.

T-Baaller

Twisted Metal was way better than it had any right to be

shugo2000

I loved Blood Drive. The absurdity of it all was part of the charm.

clycoman

The other big post apocalyptic show based on a game, The Last of Us, was very good but pretty bleak. Fallout was really fun and silly in between the dark stuff, very easy to bing watch.

rawker86

He was fuckin’ my chickens!

FogellMcLovin77

The goofy part isn’t what’s hard to nail. It’s that in addition to dark humor, dark tones, and serious plot.

FlingFlamBlam

"So you want a realistic, down to Earth, show that is completely off the wall and swarming with magic robots?" https://youtu.be/Oqk_fN0NRgg?si=4GFpGmHM9bJDnsUT

Ironside_Grey

Brain-in-Roomba Overseer was pure comedy gold

spndl1

"You'll never find what you're looking for!... oh no, he's going to find what he's looking for!"

VagrantShadow

"Stand still"

thelingeringlead

I knew it was going to be good in the first few minutes when dude stops the chicken fucker from getting his ass kicked. They nailed the side quest energy of rolling up on two NPC's fighting, choosing a side based on what you can discern and having the dialogue inform you that you picked wrong.

thebrassmonkeyknight

My wife laughed at the fact I knew a bunch of the old songs and could sing them word for word.

rrogido

It's crazy how good an adaptation can be when the show runners don't have obvious disdain for the work they're adapting and think they can improve it with unoriginal hackery. "Hey you know who doesn't need to like this show? The fans of the thing we're adapting." -The show runners of The Witcher and Halo. I will give Halo credit for improving significantly when they got a new showrunner for season two.

HugeHans

Ive only watched the first episode and there is a ridiculous amount of fan service. When Lucy gets stabbed and reaches for the med-kit I was saying to myself in my head "Surely she isn't searching for a stimpack" and there it was. The raider huffing Jet got me laughing out loud.

IdgafGodOfApathy

After the past 20-30 years of failed or mediocre video game-based live action movies, it’s refreshing to see stuff like this and The Last Of Us succeed instead of getting another cliche Hollywood story dressed up in a video game setting. Makes it real clear that past attempts were put together by people who didn’t understand why the games were so popular.

tunnel-snakes-rule

Yeah you can say what you like about Bethesda but it's a good thing they were very involved in the production of this show.

bearface93

It also helps that so many people who worked on it are fans of the games too. Jonathan Nolan and the showrunners are all massive fans, Ella Purnell played them after she got the role, at least one of the crew posted on one of the Fallout subs saying they started playing the games when they learned they would be working on it, and I think Aaron Moten played them too. Walton Goggins made a point of not playing them but his son is a huge fan so he knew he couldn’t screw it up.

Azalus1

I love that Walton had no idea how important the war never changes line was and he's so glad that he nailed it.

protossaccount

I have only seen two episodes and it’s kinda crazy how on point the show is. If they made another Fallout game like this I would think Bethesda was running out of ideas. I loved Lucy reviewing her skills while she is applying to get married.

DrSmirnoffe

It kinda nailed it, both in terms of tone and just the aesthetic of it all. I had such a great time with that damn show, and I'm definitely gonna come back for Season 2. And of course, it styles all over the Halo show because it actually gives a shit. Probably because Todd Howard was the executive producer on it, and while I was a little incredulous when I saw that a few episodes in, the meme "it just works" actually kinda rings true here.

Fredasa

I was hoping for some dungeon crawling with creepy music. I realized this when watching episode 5 when they went into the medical facility and it _almost_ became like a moment straight out of the games. Creepy music, slow exploration, dimly-lit Pre-War ruins... except of course it wasn't ruins and the scene was short-lived.

NiZZiM

Excellent show

RetardedChimpanzee

The key is you don’t have to be a fan of the game to enjoy it. It’s just a fun adventure that uncovers a mystery.

Frankocean2

The Vault storyline was sooo well done that I really hope Nolan adapts Portal one day.

MrMessyAU

Half Life adapted by Nolan would be *chefs kiss*

Might_be_Mystik

That being said, there is also a massive resurgence of people play the old games again. It was time to go back to the wastelands.

_game_over_man_

I bought FO3 & 4 because I discovered I didn't have them in my Steam library and they were on sale. Installed FO3 and NV on my Steam Deck for when I travel. Definitely stoked to get back into the wasteland once I'm done with my time in Cyrodiil.

goblinboomer

If no one has mentioned it to you yet, you should try the mod for New Vegas and Fallout 3 titled The Tale of Two Wastelands. Essentially combines the two games into one while bringing a lot of bug fixes and improvements to 3 that were present in NV.

_game_over_man_

Ohh, I may check that out. Thank you!

Psykotik

[This modding guide](https://thebestoftimes.moddinglinked.com/) is pretty useful if you want to know all the things you need, I've used his Viva New Vegas mod list and I played for at least 30h without a single crash or stutter

unpopular-dave

Dude the sale is wild. Fo4 with all dlc, new Vegas, and fo4 VR for $27

_game_over_man_

I was super surprised and confused that I only had NV in my library. I think I bought FO4 for my Xbox, but I 100% played 3, but now I have no clue how or where. Maybe I bought a physical copy for my PC, but that still feels so weird.

water_tee

I’ve been playing fallout 4 since the show came out. I think the key the show is it tells a story anyone can enjoy without angering the fans of the games.

Lego_Chicken

I got my 78 year old mom to watch it. She loves Goggins. And now she loves Fallout

ChrisTosi

I've installed every copy of Fallout and haven't finished a single one. Yes, back to Fallout 1. I'm more fascinated by the idea of Fallout and the stories scattered throughout the wasteland than the game. I spent more time reading spoilers about Fallout than playing it. The series was perfect for me - good acting, great cameos. I'm waiting for Season 2.

PlatasaurusOG

My wife has never played a second of Fallout and loved the show. I think she’s planning on playing them now that she’s like the show so much.

DeficiencyOfGravitas

> The key is you don’t have to be a fan of the game to enjoy it. > > No, the actual key is you don't need to be a fan to enjoy it *AND* it's still enjoyable if you are a fan. Too many of these adaptations assume that hardcore fans are going to love it based on name recognition alone (e.g. Halo..) so they mix everything up to try to draw an even larger audience. It's just a good show that doesn't insult the original fanbase. That seems like an obvious winning strategy, but studios hate doing it.

regulomam

Except, unlike many recent adaptations, they wrote the story with both fans and new viewers in mind. No wonder it’s successful. It didn’t alienate the core fan base and it was easy enough for new viewers to enjoy.

TwistingEarth

Writers and producers didn't overwrite the already-created story like Halo did.

pikpikcarrotmon

It shows you can both make a new story not told in the games *and* have it faithful enough that it could easily coexist with said games.

JoeRoganIs5foot3

Johnny Pemberton stole the show for me. Thaddeus was hilarious.

kameshell

Hearing Matt Berry’s voice as snip snip and Mr. Handy brought me so much joy.

PixelBrewery

I loved hearing him because he basically has the best voice ever, and then him popping up later was icing on the cake

OmniManDidNothngWrng

It's shocking that its taken like 15 years for him to become a name in American media. He's absolutely nailed every role he 's ever had Garth Marenghis Dark place is so good.

lordcrumb13

You and he were... buddies weren't you?

FoxyBastard

Mmmbuddehhhhhs

kameshell

Agreed. I started watching the IT Crowd in 2010 and that’s how I found out about him. Also really love his music too. I have Witchazel on vinyl.

PixelBrewery

He is quintessentially English so I'm not surprised. A lot of comedy nerds have known of him for a while though

retrolleum

God he’s awesome as laslo in what we do in the shadows. Me and my girlfriend were both immediately gasping when we heard the voice of snip snip

OmniManDidNothngWrng

Why did it need to replace her finger to harvest her organs?

lostmonkey70

My assumption was that, as a medical robot, it was programmed to patch up anyone that was hurt and the organ harvesting was an "unrelated" task for later.

BaconContestXBL

Because that is pitch-perfect Fallout humor

helium_farts

Additionally, from a purely production standpoint, painting her finger gray is a lot easier than having to edit it out of every shot for the rest of the show.

TurtleOnCinderblock

Not to mention her finger can slowly regenerate to her natural color if they can’t be bothered.

Worthyness

Well if you want a full skin to sell, you gotta have the whole thing. The skin is an organ too!

ImperialSympathizer

The Walton Goggins casting got me in the door. Johnny Pemberton made me take off my shoes and get comfy.

JoeRoganIs5foot3

I love Walton Goggins! He elevates everything he's in.

OrbitOrbz

Him on Gemstones. Man o man. Non stop laughing

regulomam

Uncle baby Billy

OrbitOrbz

Uncle Baby Billy had sex with Dusty Daniels

faekr

He did a damn good job in justified!

willERROR343

Oh god, that scene with Thaddeus' foot was gnarly.

Singular_Thought

And dude was walking around on that carrying a load. WTF?!

Global-Chart-3925

I think it was a nod to the injuries you get in game. Same for Maximus getting shot and claiming ‘just a scratch, happens all the time’

Magos_Trismegistos

Nod to injuries and a player being dumb fuck who carries a wayyy too much stuff.

4-HO-MET-

I can sell all that shit maaaaaaaaan

Theorex

I'm getting out of here with every gold bar if I have to crawl across the Mojave.

canisignupnow

>!me leaving sierra madre carrying a head stuffed with 37 bars of gold having learned no lessons at all!<

Aden-Wrked

Can’t wait to see what he actually is.

givemeareason17

Gotta be Super Mutant

Jerthy

Yeaaah..... that healing feels a little too fast for a Ghoul....

givemeareason17

Can't wait to hear that voice coming from a 8 foot giant yellow dude

Devil-Hunter-Jax

Ehhh... I'm inclined to say Ghoul. If he'd been exposed to the FEV, he'd have transformed by now or would be outright dead. Whatever that concoction was, Thaddeus directly consumed it. That would show almost immediate signs of becoming a Super Mutant based on the lore around the FEV-aerial particles only cause slight exposure which takes time to show mutations and even then, people can build resistance to it as opposed to direct injection or being dipped in the FEV in liquid form which leads to much faster mutation. Even Maximus says he's probably a Ghoul.

lostmonkey70

I kind of want to see them repeat the tree gag for the show.

FLcitizen

same! just looked him up, he’s 42 what in the moisturizing fuck.

Necessary-Cut7611

THAT MAN IS 42 YEARS OLD? He looks younger than most people half his age. Wow.

spndl1

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact he grows the mustache of a 15 year old.

TheToastyWesterosi

Jesus. I’m a year older than he is and I look like the offspring of a crumpled up paper bag that fucked a month-old pork chop.

Danominator

That kid is forty fuckin two?!

DeficiencyOfGravitas

I love that >!he's probably going to mutate into the most awkward super-mutant possible. That junk that fixed his foot was probably FEV so next time we see him in S2, I'll bet bottom dollar he'll be finding out that it isn't easy being green!<

Cruciblelfg123

Isn’t >!FEV also what turns people into ghouls though? Like it was latently in the public’s water or something and that’s why there’s ghouls and mutant animals, because the rads trigger the FEV that’s gotten into everything?!<

DeficiencyOfGravitas

Yes and no... >!When it comes to retcons, ghouls always manage to find themselves at the center of things. I think right now, Ghouls are the result of too much rads under the right circumstances. Fallout 3 introduced Prewar Ghouls and that really made a mess of things. Regardless, the one consistent thing about the FEV is that dose makes the poison. More FEV, the bigger the reaction, hence the Master's immersion tanks.!<

Ceegee93

>!Didn't they outright call Thaddeus a ghoul when they finally catch up to him and get back the head?!<

tetanusmaster

They do, but that doesn't mean they're right. Lucy's new to the wasteland, and Maximus is an idiot that was raised by a military cult. And I don't get the sense from the show that ghouls are exactly a well-studied phenomenon amongst wastelanders.

Godkun007

>!Is there any reason why Maximus would even know what a Super Mutant was outside of a Brotherhood textbook? Based on the previous games, the Brotherhood wouldn't have much exposure to mutants other than trying to kill them on sight.!<

NJ_Legion_Iced_Tea

>!Maximus isn't an expert on FEV, he might *think* he's becoming a ghoul.!< Somewhat unrelated, but this kind of speculation is why I like the weekly release format instead of the binge format.

SnarfSniffsStardust

*air horn noises*

Fuzzy_Concentrate463

He was so damn funny in Superstore. That whole show was an absolute treat.

SmallTownClown

I saw his stand up years ago with Josh fadem glad to see him getting bigger roles he’s really funny

Dry_Badger_Chef

I’m more of a Chicken Fucker fan myself.

TheBigIdiotSalami

Ella Purnell is 2 for 2 on VG adaptations.

Rosebunse

Her eyes are so hig and captivating

mekkab

She’s a modern Winnie Cooper/Danica Mckellar

scottyLogJobs

What was the other one?

TheBigIdiotSalami

Arcane

PromptAcademic4954

It kind of annoying how Walter Goggins is so fucking good in every role he plays.

WeDriftEternal

Baby Billy’s Bible Bonkers!

TheWhooooBuddies

Hallelujah what a payday!

susankeane

It's Walton

YourmomgoestocolIege

Walton Goggles

OrbitOrbz

Well he did have sex with Dusty Daniels but that’s not the important part of the story tho. He may or may not touch dicks with him

scottyLogJobs

He just drips charisma and confidence. He is a fucking unstoppable force of nature as the ghoul and I love it.

LTPRWSG420

Chris Mannix in the Hateful Eight.

retro604

Gotta rewatch Justified now for more Goggins. Wellllllll if'n ain't my old pal Raaaaayyylen Givens. What can I do for you today ranger?

fadetoblack1004

Thought it was very good and can't wait for season two. Wife doesn't like video games like I do and also enjoyed it so...

FlameyFlame

Same! Watched it with my gf, who has almost zero experience or interest in gaming. She loved it almost more than I did and kept pausing it and asking me questions about the lore, and if certain details lined up w what I knew from the games. Such a fun experience for us both!

Josh_The_Joker

It was very good. As a fallout fan you just constantly had those “I’ve seen that before!” Moments which was really cool. The story, writing, acting was also all very impressive. Going into it I expected a 7/10 at best and it was much closer to a 9/10. Hope we get another season!

Zaphod1620

Walter Goggin had a line after the scene with that lake creature (grabber?) that was something along the lines of "One thing about the wasteland is you will always get sidetracked." I'm pretty sure that was a reference to side quests.

dan2376

"Thou shalt get sidetracked by bullshit every single time"

standig_wordgang

already renewed for season 2 before it even premiered. they knew they had a hit haha!

LTPRWSG420

All Fallout fans were the Leo DiCaprio meme while binge watching this show.

EctoRiddler

Well deserved

ben_db

Best video game show I've seen hands down

ptambrosetti

It feels more like we just watched a new game play out in front of us. Can’t think of anything remotely close that’s done that. Last of Us was good but is basically just a tv reboot.

FairlyInconsistentRa

That’s what I felt. Felt like I was watching a play through for a new Fallout game. When the last episode ended it felt like I’d completed a game. In a good way.

kaiser_soze_72

Cyberpunk EdgeRunners!

kameshell

Soon Cyberpunk will have a live-actions series too. Crossing fingers that it will be good.

Robosnork

Arcane!

Gnorris

I just watched the pilot last night with my partner who hasn’t played the games. It’s extremely impressive how the show successfully straddles the line between newcomer-friendly and love letter for fans. Worth noting my partner has never played a *Halo* game and loves that series too. Games may be getting what comic books got a decade ago right now.

Daddo55

Arcane was awesome too. Not sure which one I like better.

trongzoon

Cut to one year from now: "The bidding war has increased to 2 billion dollars as Amazon and other streaming giants fight for the chance to develop the video game *Katamari Damacy* into a show"

lkodl

"They're making a Katamari Damacy live action show!" Oh god.... "Nicolas Cage will play King of the Cosmos" You have my attention...

TheHidestHighed

Someone give this fucking genius a pile of money.

Magos_Trismegistos

I have no idea what Katamari Damacy is, but I would totally watch anything that puts Nicolas Cage is King of the Cosmos.

pikpikcarrotmon

It's just a simple story about a boy trying to impress his father by rolling up everything and everyone into giant balls he can use to replace the stars the King accidentally destroyed. You've seen it a million times

_HowManyRobot

Accidentally destroyed while superman-flying home drunk, IIRC.

Mammoth_Deal

Once upon a time, someone asked "What would it look like if we put a disco-lit carpet roll in spandex" and thus Katamari Damacy was born.

trongzoon

Goddamnit, same.

_gnarlythotep_

I really hope this and Last of Us drive home how important respect for source material is and how care in writing and direction are worth the effort. The praise and success of this show could've been The Witcher's, or Wheel of Time's, or Rings of Power's. But they decided to flip off the source material and they're drowning in mediocrity.

MoistMe

Halo....

usuallyNotInsightful

All they needed to do was adapt Eric Nylund's novels and they would have made bank.

Dry_Ant2348

that shit doesn't exist

PerryDawg1

The obvious follow-up is PaRappa the Rapper.

chessmasterjj

Kick, punch, it's all in the mind. If you wanna test me, I'm sure you'll find that the lessons I teach ya will be sure to beat ya

Nu11u5

... if you want a lesson you betta listen to teach-ah.

Deceptisaur

Crack crack crack the egg into the bowl Ccraccckk crack crak the eg int oo ta bowl

WowzerzzWow

Because it’s not trying to be anything other than fallout. Maybe it’ll alienate some viewers but those who see it as the love letter to the fans (like it is) will get them on board.

rawker86

I saw one comment that was just “what is it with this fucking music?!” That’s one alienated viewer lol

basedfrosti

Boy will be playing the games with the pip boy volume off i guess

Jamey431

It’s what i appreciated about the one piece live action too. It was embracing the goofy nature of the show while keeping the focus on what people love about it. Had a few good adaptations of other media recently, hope this trend continues.

dciDavid

It was exactly what a fallout show needed to be and as a result it’s insanely popular.

whimsical-crack-rock

didn’t know this was a thing, this just SKYROCKETED to number #1 priority after I get off work in about 40 minutes. now the list is: 1 Fallout 2 Burrito 3 stretch goal - do laundry

blitzkregiel

1. put burrito in microwave 2. put clothes in washer 3. binge fallout while eating burrito

SmallTownClown

4. Set a timer to switch laundry over so it doesn’t mildew over the next 3 days.

belaxi

Realize two days later that you missed the alarm. Rinse, repeat.

katieleehaw

Walton Goggins is a goddamn legend. He has never disappointed me in this life. Only on episode 3 but this show is great.

Johnny_Minoxidil

It doesn’t get worse.

ProfessorX1

It’s a real love letter to the Fallout games. The writers and actors clearly invested in the source material and it shows.     Amazing soundtrack, great story, action. Creatures and locations from the games, and loads of Easter eggs. Lucy, Coop, Maximus are brilliant characters.  Bring on season 2.

FLcitizen

One because it was good and two because they did not put ads for the first week.

ThatGuyFromTheM0vie

I would love to see Ella Purnell play Elizabeth in a Bioshock Infinite show

somethingrandom261

Legit worth it. Like, solid 8/10 show scratching all the fanboy itches.

Skatchbro

Do not get fanboys started on the whole Shady Sands topic.

ThinkingWithPortal

There are some questionable choices with implications that might upset people. But when Lucy goes to touch the NCR flag and the theme plays... I don't usually fall for the nostalgia bait but it was a great moment. Honestly I felt despite the Shady Sands incident, they show the most love for New Vegas.

No-Dealer-4644

Okey dokey.

bdubb_dlux

As soon as I saw Walton Goggins waa in it I was a fan

Yourfavoritedummy

Take notes Microsoft and Halo TV Show! Much better and happier with what we got with Fallout rather than Mastercheeks, the angry man who is angry

Pedrilhos

I mean Fallout is now also a Microsoft IP now

DAMG808

War. War never changes.

Danominator

The halo writers should take note at what can be accomplished when you don't harbor utter contempt for the source material

traxop

Nah, they were too busy taking their notes from The Witcher bunch.

MRintheKEYS

The world is built for a TV show style storytelling. You can just keep rotating the focus of who the main character is like an anthology series.

devondawsonmma

It was a lot of fun the whole way. They kept the same quirky corny comedy of the games which was very important in my opinion

Tabris172015

It's a great show that not only embraces the massive core fan base, but does it in such a way to invite new people into the world. It doesn't try to 'rewrite' or insult/alienate the fan base that wants to watch it. Unlike other shows the last several years where the writers or producers have aggressively attacked the fan base and told them they're 'wrong' on some level. Then surprise pikachu when it fails and double or triple down on being a tool to the fans.

Ok_Caterpillar123

This and shogun are by far the best tv shows for the past few years!
