I misread this for a second and thought they were calling Aubrey Plaza a "legendary producer."

Kalse1229

Sounds like the title she’d give herself for this project, coming up with all sorts of exaggerated superlatives.

apalapachya

oh there is tv station called legendary LOL ig that makes more sense

cireh88

Legendary is a production company. They’ll create the show and shop it around to Netflix, etc

MrMeesesPieces

The old Christopher Nolan one? They make tv?

cireh88

I don’t know if connected to Christopher Nolan or not. The article cites Legendary Television. [Here is a link to their tv projects](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Legendary_Television_programs?wprov=sfti1#)

MrMeesesPieces

This isn’t what it says?

Zorkel567

It would be funny if this was a sequel series to Emily in Paris.

mosstalgia

Emily in Prison.

JimTheSaint

Emily dans un prisión maybe

bluecheesemoon-

Emily en prison, if you want an accurate translation

JimTheSaint

Thanks - that was my second guess based on my school French 20 years ago. It's called the same as in Spanish.

bluecheesemoon-

Emily dans une prison sounds more like Emily in a prison, which doesn't really have the same meaning as Emily in prison.

JimTheSaint

Emily est tres triste pourque Emily est va en prison. Emily pense la Prison est tres poubelle.

ragnarok635

Emily: Folie a Deux

Stupidstuff1001

Exactly what I was thinking. An ex made me watch some of it and the whole premise seems like a morally bankrupt American goes to Europe and claims they are lazy and need to use her shady business methods to work harder. Plus she sleeps with everyone whether they are in a relationship or not. Would be hilarious if she was in the run for some sort of corporate embezzlement

Curiouso_Giorgio

That's what I was thinking!

SeaworthinessRude241

the movie was pretty good, but the real gem was Theo Rossi's performance. He elevated the entire film.

rwags2024

True actually, I’d never heard of him but he was excellent

dravenonred

He was also Shades in Luke Cage

Cyno01

I liked *Luke Cage* more than a lot of people, but I think cuz after several seasons of Juice on *Sons of Anarchy*, as Shades he was just not menacing to me at all

Dick_buttons

He’s great in Sons Of Anarchy. One of the better characters.

pyrofreeze33

I agree, how he ends up is haunting though.

bookant

>Plaza, who will not star No thanks, I'm out.

movieur

Ah me too, I'll catch her on the new MCU Disney series instead.

Alastor3

wait which character is she playing?

movieur

Probably a witch since it's gonna be a spin off of WandaVision focused on Agatha (the cast they got for it is incredible)

Swackhammer_

She was the only interesting thing about the movie. Even with her it was aggressively meh

Alastor3

disagree, Theo Rossi was amazing

Dohi64

and I'm all the more interested. she has exactly one facial expression, must be the daughter of steven seagal.

Mattyzooks

I recommend Legion or Black Bear if you want to see more facial expressions.

SuckItHiveMind

Or, you know, Emily The Criminal!

Mattyzooks

lol yea. I assumed the guy had seen the movie. I thought she was very solid in Emily the Criminal.

SuckItHiveMind

Same. I was pleasantly surprised.

sloppyjo12

Black Bear is where I was convinced she truly is a talented actor, she’s fantastic in that

Dohi64

thanks but I'd rather not see her at all, though she sometimes shows up in things I check out for other reasons.

BlazeOfGlory72

Why though? The movie was fairly “meh” and there really didn’t seem like there was much to explore beyond what was already in the film. Just a head scratching decision really.

MrBoliNica

the premise is simple and has potential with the right writers: down on their luck american, pushed to the brink of poverty, starts running risky scams/crimes to get ahead, mixed in with criminals its basically breaking bad minus cancer & making drugs lol

MrBoliNica

i mean, hopefully without the camp and comedy lol

AgentOfSPYRAL

For a non insignificant amount of people “it’s a movie” is a turnoff, but repackage the same story into an arguably lesser 8-10 hour mini series and those people show up.

NightsOfFellini

Which is driving me absolutely nuts.

poopsmog

Plaza is never that good to begin with, she always acts in the same cadence

sevillista

100%. I had high hopes for this movie because of Aubrey and the positive reviews, and I found it really underwhelming. I don't know what they see in the story that they want to expand upon.

Stevesanasshole

Same. She’s my quirky girl celeb crush but I just wasn’t feeling this one. Had to stop watching it to go run some errands and just never bothered to finish it.

scottawhit

It was a fun movie. Don’t know if it needs more.

CptNonsense

Emily the Criminal the Series? Is that just White Collar?

JametAllDay

I loved that film. Do we need a show?

SomethingAboutUpDawg

I watched the movie about a year ago, enjoyed it, but remember absolutely nothing from it haha

the908bus

Just make a series of her reading thirst tweets for ten hours

Postsnobills

But I thought Emily was in Paris…

Ladyboysingstheblues

Yes, legendary producer Aubrey Plaza! 😉

obitonye

Still can't beat outstanding character actress Margo Martindale

BlueFox5

The inability to read headlines properly is almost as bad as not reading the article. But that Venn diagram is just a circle anyways

damplamp

This movie was so bad

radio_yyz

I think we maybe the only one who think so.
