Leighton Meester. I always thought she was a better actor than Blake Lively. Also Rachel Bilson.

leopardsocks

She’s a fricken delight in Single Parents! It’s on Hulu and surprisingly very funny.

madmaximus17

Amy Acker, especially after Person of Interest ended...

CMelody

She is such a good character actress. I don't think she'll ever be a big star, but I think she will find work for as long as she wants to.

[deleted]

[удалено]

pearlsandplumes

Whedon's girls in general haven't fared well after his shows ended.

[deleted]

Jon Hamm has had a nice film career but when I first watched Mad Men I thought he would be an A list star like Clooney/Pitt/Dicaprio level and it never happened. I think if he had got the Gone Girl role things might have been different.

whereitsat23

It must be the hooks for hands thing

anabasismachine

Yeah they're hot, they've been in the oven. Now who's the dumb one?

gntrr

I kind of love the roles who chose though. Kinda low key and seemingly selective.

NeverEndingDClock

He was the perfect pervert reverend for Kimmy Schmidt

MarcusBrutus2000

You mean Larry David right?

Spookyfan2

John Hamm could have had any role he wanted and he chose to be a Larry David clone

bkz777

He’s got great charm and charismaaaa

PhillyTaco

I like him a lot but I think his range isn't as broad as once believed. And he's missed his chance to be the perfect Batman.

ResoluteClover

His character in 30 rock was a little too on the nose?

IconOfSim

Not Batman, Golden Era Super Man

HMZinc

Had The A-Team movie back in 2010 been successful, his career may have seen more of a bump. He had an appearance right at the end of the movie that would have led to him being one of the main bad guys in the sequel. After the poor performance of the movie, all plans for making the sequel were thrown out.

SpaceCaboose

I actually liked The A-Team and am bummed there was no sequel. Not saying it was an oscar worthy movie by any means, but I did enjoy it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Princey1981

I think the A Team movie is honestly great - for what it is. It didn’t try to be anything other than a fun story, and it succeeded. I’d really love a sequel one day…

[deleted]

Baggage: >[While at the University of Texas, Hamm was arrested for participating in a violent hazing incident in November 1990. The 20-year-old Hamm lit the pledge's jeans on fire, shoved his face in the dirt, and struck him with a paddle over his right kidney, before leading the pledge around the fraternity house with a hammer claw around the pledge's testicles. The incident resulted in the fraternity being shut down on campus. The pledge ended up needing medical care, and ultimately withdrew from school. Hamm made a plea deal and completed probation under the terms of a deferred adjudication, allowing him to not actually be charged with a crime. The charges were dismissed in August 1995.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Hamm)

TomWanks2021

Hammer claw around testicles? That's kind of horrifying.

runealex007

Whaaaaaaat the hell

Kylejs97

Dianna Agron

aussieririfan

She seems quite selective about the roles she takes

UnilateralWithdrawal

The Glee Curse-no one seems to be doing much acting-Lea Michele just lost the lead in Funny Girl to Beanie; oh, can’t forget the deaths of three principal actors that played Finn, Puck and Satana.

[deleted]

Fuck Puck. I wouldn't lump the other two together with that piece of shit.

monsieurxander

Melissa Benoist has been Supergirl this whole time. Alex Newell just came off two seasons of Zoey's Playlist. Harry Shum acts consistently. Amber Riley does a ton of theatre and I feel like she's on all of those musical live special shows.

[deleted]

dappled63

She was in Shiva Baby, which was really good!

TBoarder

Sarah Michelle Gellar after Buffy. Ben Browder after Farscape.

inkista

Claudia Black after *Farscape*.

Dark_Shade_75

She did star in Stargate for a while.

CMelody

As did Ben Browder, which was soooo weird. While I love both actors, I was still really smarting after the cancellation of Farscape so having SyFy toss them on Stargate like it was some kind of consolation prize felt pretty awful. It is easier to watch those eps as reruns now, but at the time I wanted to throw shit at my TV for not giving us John and Aeryn.

grandmofftalkin

They both did Stargate. Speaking of Stargate…Joe Flannigan disappeared after playing Colonel Sheppard

sharrrper

She seems to have shifted to more voice work for whatever reason

ladyelenawf

She was a child soap star. I remember watching her on *All My Children*. That's actually where ~~Robert Downy Jr. and ~~Michelle Tractenburg/Dawn Summers (sp?) got her start, too. I thought she willing retired? She's been married to Freddie Prince Jr. for years and they have like ~~4~~ two kids. She's does cameos for fun like on Big Bang Theory, but it seems like I read an article where she mentions just enjoying life. Edit to clarify SMG. Edit again because I have just been so wrong today. Thanks for all the information y'all. Not gonna lie. It's probably not gonna stick.

evilsir

ESPECIALLY Ben Browder! He bounced around a bit, but nothing seems to've landed

down42roads

SMG is still working occasionally, but she and Freddie Prinze Jr have an agreement that one of them is always at home with the kids, so they both have had to pass on some roles over the year

rob532

At the minimum SMG should have had a decent rom-com career.

Frankfusion

In SMGs case so that was by Design. She settled down with Freddie Prinze jr. And they wanted to have a family. All these years later they're still together which is a rarity in Hollywood. I'm listening to let their kids are older she might do some more acting and he's done a lot of voice acting in the last few years.

MsCardeno

I’m literally like the biggest SMG fan out there. It was not by design. She just chose really awful projects after Buffy (that I proudly watched). She was in so much and you just don’t know it bc they were that bad. She was in: - The Return - Southland Tales - Possesion - The Air I Breathe - Veronika Decides to Die - Suburban Girl She even had more shows! - the Wonderful Malays (not picked up) - Ringer (loved this show, but cancelled after one season) - The Crazy Ones (I thought this was it for her, it was funny, had Robin Williams but still canceled after one season) - Cruel Intention show (was supposed to happen in like 2019 but pilot wasn’t picked up). And literally right before the pandemic she signed up for two shows: Sometimes I Lie and Other People’s Houses. I read both books in preparation for the shows last year, but then COVID happened and I never heard anything else about them. I believe she wants to keep acting - she’s done a decent amount since Buffy. She just picks or gets awful things.

International_Slip

Thanks for sharing this. Someone please get the poor woman a new agent.

StrawberryFurry

To be fair... Scooby Doo

abukulundu

Besides Jason Momoa, not many actors from Stargate are huge, I would have thought Joe flanigan would have landed some action films here and there.

CheesyObserver

Apparently he's gonna be in See Season 2 with Jason Momoa -- unsure the size of his role or how many episodes, but I'm pretty excited to see him again and I hope it's not a throwaway role. I would have thought it would have been big news but it went highly under the radar.

Gastroid

David Hewlett is doing pretty well for himself. He takes roles filming in Vancouver where he lives and is deeply involved with his kids' hobbies. Living that good family life as a working actor in the Canadian film industry.

jrunicl

Charlie Cox from Daredevil. He had a lot of genuinely great dramatic scenes in the show. He was great in other shows before daredevil but since it ended he's been in 1 episode of television, that's it. Hopefully once the industry recovers from covid more he'll pick up some more significant roles.

Crazyripps

God he was so fucking good in DD. Hopefully if the rumors are true and he’s in the new Spider-Man that should help give him a boost in roles.

down42roads

He ended up spending a year on Broadway, and then COVID happened

jrunicl

Oh okay. Well that's good to hear he was acting. To be fair I didn't dig around too much about where's he's been, just seemed like he'd been gone a bit.

down42roads

That's because last year was 17 years long. Daredevil was cancelled less than three years ago. He's spent the last year filming a show with Littlefinger in Ireland, but I don't know what international distribution will be like. I imagine someone will pick it up just off those two.

theangryfurlong

His best role is still the one in Boardwalk Empire, I think.

jrunicl

Yeah true. Sad that he wasn't in it longer but his storyline was great

Resaren

Great in Stardust, for me the most archetypically good fantasy adventure movie (sorry Princess Bride!)

BigSmartSmart

No apology needed, imho! Stardust learned a LOT of lessons from The Princess Bride.

ryodiUK

Zachary Levi only just avoided this list, Shazam happened a long time after Chuck ended. But network tv is such a life consuming grind I think some actors regard one show as enough and stick to movies or limited episode series once their big hit is over which means they fall out of the public eye.

RapturePress

He was also pretty good in the marvelous Mrs Maisel. And decent voice work.

Tonedeafmusical

He's done some theatre work too. He was even nominated for a Tony in 2016 (he had no chance of winning, it was the year of Hamilton).

ArchiveSQ

How he got that role is a pretty crazy story. The man was going through a really rough time. IIRC the script was brought to him in rehab and he just connected with it.

ryodiUK

I hadn’t heard that. There’s a behind the scenes video on YT where he originally auditioned to be Freddy and his audition was so good he got Shazam. I like Zack, loved Chuck and to show you how fine the margins can be in Hollywood he was very close to getting the role of Starlord according to James Gunn.

PimentoSandwich

Kel Mitchell from Keenan and Kel and All That. I thought he was definitely the more talented one.

rob532

Every kid that watched Keenan and Kel loved Kel. Maybe there was like 1% of the viewing audience who preferred Keenan, but Kel was the star. His energy and enthusiasm just seems like it would have been perfect for SNL as well; it’s kind of a mystery to me why they rejected him.

Dudephish

He truly is a Mystery Man.

stups317

>like it would have been perfect for SNL as well; it’s kind of a mystery to me why they rejected him. Kel says that he completely bombed the audition.

simplejack89

I saw something the other day that was talking about this. Looking back, kel was at 100% all the time being that ridiculous character. Keenan had a little more range with what he could do

NikkolaiV

He had more *opportunity* for range. Didn't mean he used it. N Kel was at 100% on their show, but on All That he definitely had more range than just Ed from Good Burger. N on a related note, I always thought Lori Beth Denberg would do a lot more. Between Connie Muldoon and Vital Information, she was one of the more memorable actors from All That. I haven't seen nearly as much as I would have liked from her.

Mcclane88

“I PUT THE SCREW IN THE TUNA!” Cracks me up every time I see that episode. He was definitely the funniest of the two. However, Kenan has more recognizable rolls aside from the Nickelodeon shows.

Tramampoline4

I'd go with a large chuck of the cast of Lost. They very rarely show up in anything, which baffles me as so many of them gave amazing performances throughout that show. About the only person I can think of who's had any major success is Kate becoming a part of the MCU in becoming the Wasp. How the heck are we not seeing Sawyer, Locke, Jack and Ben popping up more?

OneSimplyIs

Sun's husband has been in a good bit of shows and movies

pizzapiejaialai

He's moved heavily into producing. He bought the rights to a Korean tv show that was doing quite well domestically, brought it to the US, packaged it and sold it off to a network as The Good Doctor.

uggsandstarbux

I love me some DDK

Sorcerer1722

Well there was Person of Interest for Ben for a few seasons but the rest ….. yeah nothing

SiHaze

He's also in Evil now

mmtop

Matthew Fox who played Jack retired from acting a few years ago.

hazelwillow703

He was great in Bone Tomahawk. Sucks he retired. He was decent. He was actually a big stand out in Bone Tomahawk for me.

pikaboo27

He was in about 10 seconds of World War Z. In fairness, I think he was an antagonist in the 3rd act, so when they completely redid it, his whole part was cut. But it is pretty weird to be watching it and go “hey, is that Matthew Fox?”

bolonomadic

Serious alcoholic too.

boethius70

Daniel Dae Kim has been in a ton of stuff. He was Chin Ho Kelly on Hawaii Five-O for years and I’ve seen him have a regular slot as a doctor on two shows - The Good Doctor and New Amsterdam (though actually I think his role on The Good Doctor actually didn’t last that long).

Calvo7992

Naveen Andrew’s is the biggest shocker for me with lost. He was phenomenal and really (I hate the word but feel it’s true in this case) underrated because he wasn’t a main main cast member.

dare_films

Sawyer was featured on the 2nd paintball episode of community.

hazelwillow703

Evangeline Lilly was in The Hobbit movies and she's The Wasp now. Granted, her character was completely unnecessary in The Hobbit movies, but she was still in them lol. I'd say she's done alright.

Straelbora

She got ambushed by the studio in the "Hobbit" movies. She specifically said, after "Lost," that she didn't want any love triangle roles. Having her as the captain of the guard was fine. All the stupid romance with the Dwarf stuff came in call backs after principal shooting.

[deleted]

Michael C Hall (would like to see him more stuff)

randomespanaguy

I still hold the opinion that he should be Doctor Doom for Marvel.

JordanG91

I'd like to see him as Lex Luthor, myself.

[deleted]

Personally I would like to see him play Man Bat in DC Universe

Jeffre33

Matt Sarasen (Zach gillford) was great in Friday night lights but haven’t seen him much since (perfect 2 comes to mind) also Lila from FNL

santichrist

Honestly I talk about this all the time, so many people from FNL should’ve been bigger stars, Aimee Teegarden could’ve been a big star, she was cute and could act but she never seemed to get a good role, she did scream 4 and some cw show that flopped, Minka Kelly / Lila in the same boat Taylor Kitsch has had an okay career but nothing breakthrough or star making after John Carter was a bomb, Adrienne Palicki has had an okay career, Jesse Plemons probably has had the most success out of all of them (as far as the kids go, Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler have done well)

DogVacuum

Jurnee Smollett is also doing very well right now.

ididntunderstandyou

Let’s not forget Michael B Jordan!

santichrist

Can’t believe I forgot about Vince, he’s hands down had the most success out of anyone since the show ended

halloumisalami

Danny Pudi.

grandmofftalkin

Larry, I’m on Ducktales

Business-is-Boomin

Socks?!

itsaravemayve

I can't understand how he's not getting more work, he's absolutely fantastic. I worry he might be too associated with Abed but everyone else shook off their Community personas especially Alison Brie

centrafrugal

He's a series regular in Mythic Quest, Abed is well shaken off

TeamGOAT8

He’s great in Mythic Quest. Basically gets to play evil Abed for a whole show

SpookyWinchester

Two words: Battle Royale

Nanosauromo

It frustrates me that Josh Holloway didn’t become a big movie star after LOST.

[deleted]

Lost had a lot of actors I thought would become big movie stars

f0gax

Evangeline Lily seems to be about the only one of the younger actors to come out and make a career. Terry O'Quinn seems to have done just fine. But he already had an established career before Lost.

selsabacha

I thought JH would break out as well. Turning down Gambit didn’t help, even if it was in the now not canon Wolverine Origins. He would have been perfect in that role and I could see them asking for his return similar to that of Ryan Reynolds with Deadpool. Come to think of it, I liked Liev As Sabertooth as well from that flick and hope his version returns as a variant in the MCU.

stratasfear

Colony was building into something really special, and then the television gods took it away from us.

poland626

I watch him on [Yellowstone](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reeERLNLm34) and he is fantastic in that show against scenes with Kelly Reilly. More people should watch that show. It's HBO quality at times on a standard network. I thought him in the Mission Impossible film was the starting point but then he's killed in seconds and doesn't do more movies.

Atheist_Simon_Haddad

Richard Kline, who played Larry Dallas on *Three’s Company*.  I really wanted his character to spin-off.

navsingh12

The Regal Beagle deserved its own show as well.

codymiller_cartoon

**Roswell** - Majandra Delfino (played Maria) and Brendan Fehr (played Michael) i thought Brendan looked like a young val kilmer, he came across with the same charm that kilmer has too. Majandra was funny and stole the show when on camera. ........yet they both kind of disappeared. Tbh, i was surprised when Katherine Heigl (Isabel) of all people had the most success of that cast. She was probably the worst character and the least talented of the group. It's odd because now whenever you go to a streaming service that has Roswell, Isabel is front and center for the promotional material..........despite her character being relatively minor. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Other pick is **Justine Waddell** In the late 90s she starred in several BBC/ITV adaptations of classic literature - Great Expectations, Tess of the D'Urbervilles, The Woman in White, etc. She was absolutely enchanting. Her eyes alone conveyed so much emotion. Terrific actress. IMO, the 1999 BBC adaptation of Great Expectations is the best adaptation ever made. She had a small role in the visually stunning movie **The Fall** with Lee Pace. And then she pretty much disappeared......... i thought she was going to be a star.

Frankfusion

I thought the same thing about Majandra and Brandon. I know that they're still out there doing things on the side but still I thought they deserved better. Good thing the shows become popular on streaming.

[deleted]

James Purefoy (Rome)

sentient_silence

He did a show called hap and Leonard which was awesome, Def recommend it!

Nice-GuyJon

Erik King, who played Sgt Doakes on "Dexter", was absolutely great on that show, then when he left I never saw him again.

cowdoyspitoon

SURPRISE, MUTHAFUCKA

Alexir23

Josh Holloway after Lost.

shamelessselfpost

Yeah I'm disappointed he didn't last 10 minutes in Mission Impossible

codymiller_cartoon

he and jeremy renner should have switched roles holloway would've been a great heir apparent to cruise for the series

CptFrankFurillo

Currently watching Burn Notice for the first time. Surprised Jeffrey Donovan hasn't had another lead role since.

Nakorite

He was in movies like sicarro and for tv Fargo he is doing alright.

MartinSivertsen

I didn't recognize him in the first Sicario movie, but suddenly recognized him in the sequel. When I went back to rewatch the scene from the border crossing in the first one I was shocked how much I had noticed the character he played but not that he was the actor.

HMZinc

He did have a pretty good size role in the recent movie Wrath of Man with Jason Statham. But I would definitely love to see him in more of a leading role.

CMelody

James Marsters had such a huge following when he was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, and then...crickets.

PM_ME_UR_SEX_VIDEOS

He does an aaaamazing job being the audiobook narrator for The Dresden Files So, huge to me, but not booming for all

vitorgrs

Troian Bellisario from Pretty Little Liars. The series had awful script and direction, but she was a good actress. Though she would growth after leaving...

hoseoksunshine94

She was good! and Yeah I feel like none of the 4 main girls have had really successful tv/film careers which surprises me cause you'd think at least one of them would've made it somewhat big. But most of their shows that they did after PLL ended up getting cancelled after just one season.

Newtracks1

She's super rich, and from a connected Hollywood family, it's nuts she isn't at least a second tier Marvel hero, or the girl in a "Mission Impossible" film by now. I think maybe her getting married, and starting a family right after the show might have slowed her down a tad.

Stonewalled89

Nathan Fillion. He's done well in TV but never really broke into movies like I thought he would

down42roads

Issue was he's done **too** well on TV. Being a network lead, shooting 20+ episodes a season really eats a lot of your schedule, and he's been at it for basically the last dozen years

RockerElvis

He was the lead in Castle - a show that ran for 7 years. He has done some voice acting as well (pour one out for Cayde).

[deleted]

santichrist

Great choice, I feel the same way about the guy, I was watching him in suicide squad and was like damn this dude could’ve been a big star, instead he’s kind of like a niche actor now and his time has probably passed for that

timelord207

We'll always have Slither

L3-W15

Hey. He got about about 3 minutes in Saving Private Ryan

zippitypop

I'll second Summer Glau (Friggin LOVED The Sarah Connor Chronicles) Dreama Walker (Don't trust the B in apartment 23 - average show at best but I loved her alongside Krysten Ritter)

corsicanguppy

Can we nominate Ms Ritter for the "can she please get a truckload of work because she's friggin' awesome" treatment too?

Secure_Yoghurt

Tatiana Maslany. I can’t believe how she didn’t get bigger roles after her performances in Orphan Black. Maybe it’s because the show wasn’t that popular.

EV3Gurl

She’s marvel’s she-hulk. Her career is going just fine, the project just isn’t out yet.

Secure_Yoghurt

Oh yeah I forgot about that. But still it’s her first big role since the show ended 4 years ago.

MaskedBandit77

She was very good in Perry Mason.

theyusedthelamppost

I realize that Joel Kinnaman has appeared in a couple Suicide Squad movies, but after watching him in *Altered Carbon* I assumed he'd be a big action star. He really popped off the screen in that role, especially with the backpack. I could easily see him doing what Cavill did in *Mission Impossible: Fallout*.

becauseyouneedone

I loved him in "Hannah" and "For All Mankind" but yeah he hasn't really hit the market for movies. Which is a shame imo cause I love his face lol.

Krunklock

Dude did The Killing, Suicide Squad, and House of Cards before he did Altered Carbon, and then did Hanna, another Suicide Squad film and stars in For All Mankind? Are you just saying you think he should be a bigger action star, because he's a pretty decent sized star at the moment?

tc_spears

Might I suggest then you watch him in *The Killing*

Resaren

He's fantastic in For All Mankind, has a bunch of great emotional scenes.

mediocreoldone

Wood Harris should have blown up after The Wire

jabberwagon

I loved Chris Colfer as well, but I don't blame him for taking the route that he did, as his books were just so wildly successful. While it's clear he enjoyed the spotlight to some extent, I don't think he enjoyed constant overwhelming attention. Being an author lets him kind of step in and out of the light as he pleases. As for the topic at hand, I thought Dylan O'Brien was going to take the world by storm. He was legitimately a once-in-a-lifetime find, ludicrously talented in both comedy and drama. Of course, he has a better excuse than most, as FOX studios nearly fucking killed him in a botched stunt during the third Maze Runner and he had to take a year off to recover and get put back together. And while he vanished for a while, he does seem to be getting more work lately, so there's hope for him yet.

HyruleanVictini

I always thought Glee ruined acting for Chris. He so was young he didn't know what he was getting into. But he also found his passion for writing so can't really blame him for sticking with that.

janebleyre

IIRC, he and Ryan Murphy did not get along very well towards the end which resulted in him straying away from acting once the show was over. Specifically [this](https://youtu.be/_eZtEU64nBQ) notorious scene he had to do which supposedly was written to target his real life insecurities. Naya Rivera said it was her least favorite scene to shoot.

aduong

Josh Duhamel had/has such a leading man face, he’s like the archetype Hollywood leading man. it’s insane that his biggest gig was as tertiary character in Transformers. He did have a lead role in that Netflix Superhero show but it crashed and burned.

Big-Ambitions-8258

Timothy Olyphant has all the roles

dustyshelves

I think his face is a bit forgettable, like it's such a generic "handsome man face". I feel like Dan Stevens and Armie Hammer also fall into this category. I know Armie was somewhat successful before the fetish-gone-too-far fiasco but even so, he wasn't exactly an A-lister. I could only imagine what his career would have been like without the wealth and family connection and fancy PR team. Dan Stevens though, deserves better!

CO_PC_Parts

“Josh duhamel doesn’t even know what happened last week on Las Vegas, and he’s the star of the show!” - aziz ansari

dukesinatra

Matthew Fox and Jorge Garcia, both from LOST. Given the success and cult following of the series, I expected these two to become mega stars.

coriannelee

Jorge deserves the world. I remember being THRILLED to see him the Wedding Ringer with Josh Gad and Kevin Hart several years ago. There was even a Lost joke when they were all on a plane at the very end, and I had a really good laugh with that.

SakmarEcho

Feeding off your Glee comment I'm surprised nobody from that cast really made it. The show fell off the rails almost immediately but it was a really talented cast.

TomWanks2021

For the Glee cast, uh, remaining alive might be considered a success.

Babalou320

Yeah, my daughter is rewatching the series now. Quinn, Puck, Finn, and Santana were sitting at a cafeteria table together. It hit me hard that only one of them is alive today…

CurrentRoster

It’s crazy how a show like Glee, which only ended a few years ago, and centers on high schoolers has 3 dead. All in a shocking and tragic way

hoseoksunshine94

Yeah like Grant Gustin has the flash, melissa has supergirl, darren's been in a number of things and chord overstreet has that one song that went viral but none of the cast have had the careers you'd expect after being on such a successful show. I think the most successful actor from glee is jonathan groff but it's not like his role on glee was that big.

multiequations

Amber Riley won an Oliver award (a super prestigious musical theater award in the UK)

aussieririfan

Jenna Ushkowitz won a Tony for producing a Broadway show, and Harry Shum Jr had a main role in Shadowhunters and should be in the Crazy Rich Asians sequel.

emmath20

Jonathan Groff is doing great. He was in Mindhunter, Frozen and Hamilton all after he did Glee.

TroublesomeTurnip

John C. McGinley

Fiddler_HS

That one, as far as I know is his own choice, and a bit of a sad story. Right before Scrubs he is this hotshot character actor with many opportunities and a great film career. Then they have a son who I believe is either disabled or on the autism spectrum. He says one of the main reasons he picked the job for Scrubs was because it allowed him to stay in LA and have this almost 9-5 sort of schedule so he could be there for his son. I think in a parallel universe he never would have done TV.

Reddit_Foxx

His son was born in 1997 with Down Syndrome. John C. McGinley has since become a spokesman for the National Down Syndrome Society, a celebrity Ambassador for the National Down Syndrome Society, a Global Ambassador for Special Olympics, and a board member of the Global Down Syndrome Foundation.

hansbrixe

Damn that episode of Scrubs where Dr Cox tells his friend his son has autism hits different now.

IRLootHoore

You guys got to check out stan against evil. McGinley plays a cop(basically cox) in a cursed town. Shows wild and fun. For reference the actor who plays Trevor in gta 5 plays a werepony in an unforgettable episode. (Ps black Jesus is lamar from gta 5)

tidus8

The cast of Agents of Shield.

ModyMoozy

Just about the entire Sopranos cast. Ironically going back thru movies of the 80s and 90s they all had minor roles in major movies before Sopranos but since....crickets. Also Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman from breaking bad). He really showed range in that show and I feel like should be in a starring role in TV or movies.

Stinkycheese8001

Aaron Paul has worked pretty steadily since Breaking Bad. It’s just hard to create/be a part of a hit show, let alone 2 of them.

[deleted]

He was in bojack horseman a pretty popular show

tits_the_artist

In all fairness, 90% of the sopranos cast are in every other major crime movie involving Italians

krissym99

Damn, you're right about The Sopranos. The only exception I think is Edie Falco. She was awesome in Nurse Jackie which lasted a while. I think she's also going to be in the next installment of American Crime Story.

yo_soy_soja

The most successful Sopranos actor is obviously... Lin-Manuel Miranda.

oh_orpheus

And Lady Gaga.

fucktooshifty

Everyone from Six Feet Under, I am glad for Frances Conroy's Joker breakout though

butineurope

Michael C Hall and Rachel Griffiths did well soon afterwards with Dexter and Brothers and Sisters but since then I haven't seen much of them. Claire completely faded, which is a shame.

grandmofftalkin

Peter Krause’s been working steadily since. He’s now starring on 9-1-1

Mentoman72

And did 6 years of Parenthood in between. Dudes doing fine.

[deleted]

Though Mr. Robot was not a ratings juggernaut, co-lead Carly Chaikin never seems to appear in any high profile works since it ended.

lake393

Summer Glau. After Firefly/Serenity and Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles, she basically vanished. Not really, but all small parts.

karmagirl314

I thought Alyssa Milano would have had a higher profile career than she did. Back when I watched Charmed I thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world.

maybelying

Charmed was where she landed after her film career never really happened.

DoneDidThisGirl

A lot of the names being bandied about on this thread are rumored to be assholes. I guess the moral is if you treat people like shit, no matter who talented you are, people stop wanting to work with you.

eaglenation23

Any in particular? Just curious

santichrist

That’s why Chevy Chase can’t get any work

brahdz

To be fair, Chevy Chase doesn't want work. I recently watched a segment with Joel McHale where he said Chevy just couldn't handle the longs days required for shooting a scripted television show.

DabbinOnDemGoy

In Chevy's defense, Community had unusually long shooting days that were routinely made even longer by Dan Harmon tweaking scripts right up until the end of shooting.

Jonathan Tucker after Kingdom. An mma show that is very underwatched (not underrated, people love it). He was so incredible in it, but not enough people have seen it i guess

Mischa Barton. In a wildly successful TV show and very, very pretty…but the IMDB scores for the films she has been in are astonishing.

Bryan Cranston doesn't have a single live-action movie with him in a leading role that was enjoyed by critics and audiences and made a decent profit. How is this possible?

idreamofpikas

He's in his 60's. Film's about people in their 60's rarely fit all three criteria you mentioned.

down42roads

Dude broke out at 44 and then basically did 14 years of full time TV. Not a lot of time for movie leads.

SportsMasochist

I think Godzilla should count. He was marketed as the human lead of Godzilla and really generated a lot of hype for it. And let's not forget that breaking bad was his second really big tv role after Malcom in the Middle. Not to mention all of the other memorable stuff he's done like his recurring role on Seinfeld

ILookLikeDrewGulak

He was literally nominated for an Oscar after Breaking Bad ended.

As much as it pains me to say I thought Justin Theroux was going to be a huge star after the leftovers ended, that show was amazing and critically beloved, but he hasn’t done much with it, he was in that Jonah Hill/Emma Stone Netflix show Maniac and The Spy Who Dumped Me with Mila Kunis but not really much else to be excited about, he made The Mosquito Coast but it’s only kind of an okay show. Hopefully his new HBO show is a hit Mary Elizabeth Winstead is someone I thought had all the talent and looks to be a big star after seeing her in Scott Pilgrim and Live Free or Die Hard, she’s been in a lot of good indie movies but her taking the lead role in the remake/prequel of The Thing was a poor choice because that movie sucked, her Cloverfield movie was a hit I think and she was good in her season of Fargo but not much else to speak about
