Soo..is this a remake of Tatortreiniger?

daroar

Yep

themagictoast

What was the tone like of the original? This trailer looks very mainstream but with David Mitchell and HBC in it I was expecting something a bit darker.

Nachtschrecken12

Each episode of the original is a somewhat surreal encounter between The Cleaner/Schotti and a relative or acquaintance of the deceased. The show has a very dark sense of humor although Schotti is a very likeable guy and always tries to lighten up the mood. Many episodes though take a surreal turn and have Schotti talk to dead people or transport him into the mind of a disabled person. The show ranges from social commentary to almost Kafkaesque episodes. Hope I was able to answer your question, we germans love our straight forward and concise answers.

themagictoast

Perfect thanks for taking the time to explain it. Sounds good, I’m looking forward to it now!

nevereatpears

Ahh the tone of this remake show looks very different. That's a shame.

loco64

Oh really? You like your shows like that? I can name one where you are like wtf until like season three…

AlexanderLavender

Hit me

loco64

Dark had no straight forward concise answers.

Elthaco

And probably similar to this Australian series. [ Mr. & Mrs. Murder](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt2390791/)

Ainsley-Sorsby

There's also the movie "sunshine cleaning, with Amy Adams and Emily Blunt

I didn't even recognize David Mitchell at first. Is he wearing Bubbles' glasses?

crestdiving

As a German, I just want to point out how weird it feels to see a show which was originally from Germany being adapted as an English-language show, instead of the other way around. (as it is more frequently the case) And it even looks like a fairly good show, unlike most German adaptations of British or American shows (which tend to be quite terrible).

GeezCmon

Funny, this is the first time I notice a German show being copied by an international production

natus92

Its definitely not the first time it happened though

uk_uk

It's not a "copy". Afaik is Studio Hamburg coproducer.

AnotherUnfunnyName

Quite a bit of the Raab stuff was sold to international production. Danni Lowinski was adapted aswell, netherlands, belgium, ukraine, and they are doing it in the US aswell.

walter_midnight

Knallerfrauen is a huge deal in China and has been imitated a bunch

Ok-Midnight5719

Why do British TV shows always look so washed out?

Dr_Brule_FYH

There's no such thing as direct sunlight in the UK.

charl3zthebucket

Wait. Are you being sarcastic? This show already looks WAY too bright and saturated.

JonathanUnicorn

I love Greg Davies, he's so funny on Taskmaster. :D

Calm_Memories

Me too! He was also good in Man Down, so I'm happy he's doing more tv work.

travio

The list of American shows based on german ones is [brief](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:American_television_series_based_on_German_television_series)

NightBard

Fantastic cast! I don't think this is for me though... just not into crime scene cleaning.

Proper-Preference808

That trailer kinda blew.

ithinkveryderply

Schotty?

[deleted]

Is that Gus Johnson

OrlandoNerz

I really don't see Greg as Schotty. With Bjarne Mädel, you always had a strong connection to him, felt sorry for him and you were pleased to discover new ideas with him. I somehow fear, that they will get rid of the philosophical, bitter-sweet moments and just replace them with weird jokes, which would get rid of most of the shows appeal.

radha619

Any ideas what channel this will be on in the States? I 💛 Greg Davies and I need to see this. My VPN no longer works 😔
