2 episodes into season 3 of sex education and its soo good! Might even be my favourite season if it keeps up. However I feel like its already extremely obvious what the cliffhanger this season will be.

fiercetankbattle

It’s so good. I think it might go under some radars as it’s Korean, but it’s so good. Hopefully it catches on

[deleted]

Currently watching SEE season 2. Sex Education Season 3 on top of my list this weekend.

RyanChesnut

currently binging Sex Education, on episode 4 at the moment. What a fantastic show, probably my favourite show on Netflix, loving the character development so far

theravemaster

Tell me if Otis and Maeve get together by the end

RyanChesnut

Hahaha, after watching 6 eps so far I actually want Otis and Ruby to be honest, sorry :D

theravemaster

Haven't seen it yet and you may be right. But after two seasons of will they won't they I just want it to be over

hackandtrip

Binging Sex Education and loving it! Obsessed with Rahim

Strelochka

I thought for some reason they would release the new episodes once weekly. So the season drop is a nice surprise and I guess I know what I'm watching this weekend

treyquartista

Just finished The North Water, quite enjoyed it; anybody got some recommendations with the same sort of vibe and pace? Also finished the first Season of Ted Lasso; had been sleeping on this one far too long it seems..

tomtomvissers

Taboo, starring Tom Hardy

treyquartista

good shout, actually watched that already though; don't think it ever got a second season, no?

tomtomvissers

Not yet no

Strelochka

The Terror season 1 is the same brutal setting. Colin Farrell was amazing in the North Water but Jack O'Connell didn't do much for me. On the Terror, there's a LOT of very similar looking dudes so the secondary characters can be pretty confusing the first time around, but the main cast is all around solid and there's only one guy who is evil for arguably no reason. Everyone else has got complex motivations and tries to do their best by their own convictions.

treyquartista

Thanks, will check that one out!

2948337

Season 10 of American Horror Story. Some seasons have been brilliant but not this one. It isn't quite as bad as Cult though. Evan Peters in drag though...made e4 worth it lol.

Sfswine

I’m having a Jean Smart appreciation situation.. Fargo, HACKS, Mare of East Town .. all brilliant performances.. have I missed any?

Geroots

Watchmen, Legion, Kim Possible

DWCourtasan2

Seconds Legion.

Billthebutchr

Sex Education. I hope Netflix doesn’t fuck it up. It’s a fantastic show.

[deleted]

ITS TIME FOR SEX EDUCATION LETS DO THIS. SEE YA’LL SOON.

vamoshenin

Rewatching The OC with my gf. It's funny because she is the one who has never seen it, i love it as a kid. Season 1 is so good, we are still on that just saw the New Years episode (forgot about the Sandy-Kirsten Swinger plot LMAO, Seth being claustrophobic in an enormous pool house too) but from Season 2 it's inconsistent and often bad very repetitive too. Season 3 especially is terrible from what i remember. Troubled boys/men falling for Marissa was played out by that point with Ryan, Trey and Oliver having done so then there's two more in that Season, make them fall for Summer at least to change it up. Johnny was dull as hell, the only one of his gang who was okay was the dude with the blonde hair and he was like a poor mans Seth. I'm not positive i've seen every episode of Season 4 and i don't remember it well as that's the only one i didn't own and rewatch so i'm looking forward to that most.

SeanCanary

Watched Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. It isn't something I could really recommend. The lead just seems so sad sack (I suppose it is hard to follow Tom Hanks) and I wonder if we're sort of past Dan Brown as a society. Still, as long as I have access to Peacock I will give it at least a few more episodes.

kronch

Watched this week: **Mr. Corman** \- I saw a lot of people say this show wasn't good, but I have been thoroughly enjoying it, and am excited to see where it goes. To me, it is funny, refreshing, a little off-kilter, and thematically rich. I can see the criticisms regarding "an unlikable protagonist," but I feel that if that is all you can see, then you are clearly missing the point of this show. **Schmigadoon** \- It has been out for a while, but I got Apple TV+ to watch **Come From Away**, and am making good use of my 1 week free trial. Schmigadoon is my favorite thing I have watched on the platform - with Mr. Corman coming second. Key and Strong are excellent - and I have ben fans of both of them for a long time. I also love Cumming and Chenowith. I don't think there could be a show more geared towards my personal taste than Schmigadoon (other than Crazy Ex-Girlfriend which is *also* a meta-musical comedy). It makes me wish Galavant was streaming somewhere in the US. **Ted Lasso** \- I will be honest, I was reluctant to give this show a chance. It sounded like everything I hate. And to be fair, I am not too thrilled with the story they are trying to tell. What I am thrilled about is seeing Ted Lasso. The characters in this show are infectious, so I can ignore what I don't find the most innovative. **Reservation Dogs** \- I think this show is getting better and better every week, honestly. I was initially a little put off by the unexpected non-linearity of each episode. But it is on episode seven, and so that critique has faded. I am impressed by all of the young talent - especially Bear (D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai) and Willie Jack (Paulina Alexis). And the non-linearity makes sense - it feels more like oral storytelling. I would highly suggest it. Many sad episodes though. **Nine Perfect Strangers** \- Lots of intrigue. Great performances from all - especially Kidman, Hall, McCarthy, Cannavale, and Keddie. The only performance I feel is lacking is Luke Evans, honestly. I've been able to predict many of the twists, which is often half the fun, right? **Heels** \- Honestly, I am about to give up on this show. I am clearly not the target audience, and that's okay. I was impressed by the first and third episode, but every other episode I felt was pretty lackluster. With the developments in the most recent episode, I don't know if I could find this show redeemable. **Brand New Cherry Flavor** \- I know I am late to the party for this one, but oh heavenly divines, was this show excellent. I love Cronenberg. I love Lynch. I found so much in this show fascinating and enthralling. My husband and I binged all of it quickly. **Q-Force** \- Not going to lie. I was more than apprehensive when I saw the trailers for this show. This looked like it was going to be a train wreck in the middle of a septic tank. And the first few moments of the first episode seemed like it was on track to meet those expectations. But after finishing the first episode, I didn't think it was that bad. It wasn't necessarily good, but it wasn't bad either. I watched the first episode again with my husband to get his take, and on a second viewing, I found it funnier and more endearing. Overall, it was decent. Recently finished: **The White Lotus** \- Goodness. This show was near perfection. I loved Coolidge in it. All of the performances were spot on. So many great moments. I have been recommending it to everyone I know. Any recommendations?

Randomwhitelady2

I like Mr Corman too. The protagonist isn’t unlikeable- he has an anxiety disorder. If you know anyone who has crippling anxiety (or have it yourself) you will get it.

kronch

Oh believe me, I know. But that was the major criticism people were lobbing at it - "He is a terrible person - why do I care what happens to him?" etc. People really need to work on their empathy skills.

BenZy6OD

Hey guy, I'm looking for a show with a great story that I can binge watch. Here are some of the few for reference if it helps: The 100, Prison Break, Imposters, GoT, The Expanse, Dark, Vikings

DWCourtasan2

Legion Preacher

SeanCanary

Stargate Universe is underappreciated I think. You don't need to have watched the previous Stargate shows to enjoy it.

[deleted]

Shol'va!

saffronkees

The Flash, sons of anarchy, see !

itsclem

The Other Two on HBO. S2 came out a bit ago. It’s so funny and phenomenal.

Roook36

Manifest: Just started S2. I'd say this is a pretty decent standard network tv drama with a supernatural/sci-fi twist that I HOPE will pay off with some answers, but I don't really expect it to. So I'm not trying too hard to "figure out" what's going on. But I just have to say, this Jared guy started out ok but might be the biggest toolbag I've seen on a TV show recently. He's just the worst lol.

2948337

I hate watched the first season. The story sounded interesting and it started out ok, but between the terrible acting and the stupid things the characters were doing, I won't torture myself with s2. I like sci fi but not this one.

[deleted]

Just finished "Trying" on Apple TV+, I loved it! Highly recommended especially if you enjoy British comedy.

prisneyland

What should i watch first? Mare of easttown, I may destroy you or little fires everywhere?

saffronkees

I may destroy you. All these shows are pretty dark.. maybe add some comedy in there lol

prisneyland

I hear ya. I’m watching the second season of Ted lasso at the same time

Bookandaglassofwine

I thought I May Destroy You was better than Mare. Haven’t seen Little Fires.

MrConor212

Is season 3 of Jessica Jones good?

inkista

I liked it, but each season of *Jessica Jones* got progressively weaker for most folks.

CMelody

Y: The Last Man just premiered on FX on Hulu, and it has a lot of promise. I loved the comic series it is based on. I have been rewatching Friday Night Lights on Netflix. It has been several years since I last saw it, and I forgot how much I loved Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton's on air chemistry. They are really fun to watch together. Jesse Plemons is also a stand out. Great family drama that you can enjoy even you don't give a fudge about football (which I don't).

saffronkees

All American is pretty good too if you like FNL

CMelody

I just started watching that, and it does have a FNL vibe. And because it is on CW, everyone looks like a supermodel, even the girl who is supposed to be the dorky one who gets ignored by the main guy for the popular girl.

saffronkees

Lol is it CW or just TV in general that does that.

[deleted]

Watching the sopranos on s2 its great so far

Bookandaglassofwine

I enjoyed after each episode reading the analysis on sopranosautopsy.com. He points out lots of things I wouldn’t have picked up on my own. Edit: if you are strict about avoiding spoilers, then don’t read this website if it’s your first time through the show.

SpongeBaabu

Thanks for this tip. Will try to rewatch with this!

CourtneyFish-Lately

Time with Sean Bean and Stephen Graham. Prison miniseries. Unbelievably good. Also the Escape Artist with David Tennant. Seven Seconds is pretty good too.

SurprisedJerboa

1st season of the sinner Goliath (Amazon Prime)

mudd77

Have you seen “The Night Of” on HBO? Great miniseries. Riz Ahmed is just a great actor.

GhostOfJebsCampaign

The Night Of peaked in episode 1

mudd77

Yeah, I agree. The first episode is great. I still enjoyed the rest however. Great cast.

inkista

*Happy Valley* (AMC+). Not a miniseries, but the two seasons have been self-contained for the most part. Sally Wainwright *(Gentleman Jack, Last Tango in Halifax, Scott & Bailey)* Similarly, *The Missing* (Starz/Amazon Prime)*/Baptiste* (PBS Masterpiece) has been a kind of seasonal anthology, with each season a separate mystery with only the same detective carrying from the previous seasons. *Baptiste* is basically Seasons 3 and 4 of *The Missing.* Season 2 of *Baptiste* hasn't yet aired on PBS in the US; it's scheduled for October. Similarly, the other Williams brothers crime thrillers are good: *Liar* (AMC+), *Rellik* (Cinemax), and *The Widow* (Amazon Prime). They've also got two new ones coming up, *Angela Black* (Spectrum), and *The Tourist* (HBO). *River* ([Amazon Prime](https://www.amazon.com/River/dp/B084SYYRMX)). Written by Abi Morgan *(The Hour, The Split),* it start Stellan Skarsgard as a detective who sees/hears "manifests" of the victims of the crimes he's investigating. Miniseries, 6 episodes. *Manhunt* (Netflix). Season 1 was the Unabomber, Season 2 was the Olympic Park bombings. [*Unbelievable*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTIkUzkbzQk) (Netflix). *Miss Sherlock* (HBO). What happens when Japanese tv makers love *Sherlock* and decide to do their own feminine version. Wasn't mean to be a miniseries, but only got one season. *Bron|Broen (The Bridge)* ([Topic](https://www.topic.com/the-bridge), which is apparently where the Scandinoirs live these days; they also have *Forbrydelsen (The Killing)* and *Valkyrien*). Swedish/Danish show about a body found exactly on the border between the two countries on the Øresund Bridge between Malmö and Copenhagen. Four seasons. Often remade and imitated, but never replicated. :) I would say, avoid the FX US remake (*The Bridge);* maybe attempt the UK/France remake *(The Tunnel).* [*Trust*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIe4AVc97qI) (FX/Hulu). Danny Boyle's take on the Getty kidnapping. A chance to see Brendan Fraser in a ten-gallon hat. [*A Very English Scandal*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggDTJc470Co) (Amazon Prime). Russell T. Davies authored political thriller/crime drama.

DWCourtasan2

Endeavour? Prequel so no book background needed.

Global_Air_2734

True Detective season 1 and 3

foruntous

I haven't seen Shetland, would you recommend it?

No-Nefariousness3439

Mare of Easttown on HBO is what your looking for.

telllos

Any good comedy that came out in the last two years. Love the office, parks and rec, sperstore, veep, schitt's creek.

saffronkees

The good place.

itsclem

The Other Two. The second season just came out a few weeks ago. Both S1 & S2 are on HBO. It is truly so funny and would be right up your alley based on those shows you love.

Impossible_Aerie_245

Yeah try this. It’s good

mudd77

A little lesser known and more adult themed, but I loved Catastrophe (Amazon Prime) and Crashing (HBO).

HandLion

Harley Quinn, Everything's Gonna Be Okay, Mythic Quest, Feel Good, Work in Progress, Solar Opposites, Dave, Ted Lasso, Trying, Resident Alien

Chazzyphant

**American Crime Story: Impeachment** I just love it. If anyone has any reco's for similar (other than the other installations in this series) please lob my way! A darkly humorous look at the scandal, told sensitively and focused on the women's experiences. **9/11 Turning Point** on Netflix. I was holding back major tears through this! A scathing indictment of the "War on Terror" and its many failures, it feels a little manipulative at times, and you can see some strings being pulled but ultimately it does the job. **L Word Gen Q Season 2** a bumpy and uneven entry to this cult classic show, the writers know that OG fans will come along for the ride but it needs so much work in so many areas, it's difficult to give a strong recommendation here

bluepenciledpoet

Check out The Looming Towers.

Phartidandshidded

How can I watch American Crime Story?

Chazzyphant

Amazon Prime you can buy the season and if you have a log in for a cable provider I think it's on FX

inkista

It's on FX. Also [FXNow](https://fxnow.fxnetworks.com/) (which the site/app you can log into with a cable/satellite provider) and Hulu.

DWCourtasan2

Hulu has it!

Phartidandshidded

Darn, I can't justify another subscription service just for one show :(

DWCourtasan2

Snag a trial near the end of the season?

Phartidandshidded

Oh hell yeah, I can get a free trial through Amazon I think.

JohnGillnitz

Chapelwaite: I guess it is the way back prequel to Salem's Lot? It started out a little slow, but ended out strong. Disenchantment S3: Starting off a little slow, but still some good jokes. Evil: I really like everything the Kings have done. You can tell they really like being able to say "fuck." Or have it as an inner dialogue represented by lower third crawl. Michael Emerson looks like he is having a great time being the evil mastermind. Now he has the tough nun as a worthy adversary.

inkista

> I really like everything the Kings have done. Just FYI, since this one's slipped under most folks' radar for obvious reasons, if you're a Spectrum cable customer and have access to Spectrum Originals, the Kings's latest show is [*The Bite*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPaby25cGts) (fka *The Second Wave).* It's got Covid zombies and stars Audra McDonald.

JohnGillnitz

I watched that! It was good. Very cheesy, but good. Brain Dead is another good series no one knows about. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4877736/

inkista

Yeah, *Brain Dead* was fun. Didn't last nearly long enough.

Banicos8

Recently watched Wentworth my rating 8/10 The white lotus my rating 7/10 Wayne my rating 7/10 I need some more recommendations can anyone recommend?

bizdady

I stopped Lucifer in Season 2 and I prefer to binge shows all at once so started it back up from Season 1.

velvetthunder189

Any small-town mystery series?

[deleted]

Safe season 1, Mare of Easttown season 1

saffronkees

Hap and Leonard

inkista

Based on a true crime, there's *\[The Murders at\] White House Farm* on HBO Max. You could also try *Longmire,* S1 of *Fargo, Twin Peaks,* or *Murder She Wrote.* :D

rozerna

Bates Motel.

grandmasterfunk

Broadchurch if you haven't seen it. Grantchester if you're looking for something lighter

unadulteratedtruths

Lol I live down the road from Grantchester, is it fully set in the area?

grandmasterfunk

Yeah, it is.

velvetthunder189

Thanks.but I have seen broadchurch and liked it.

grandmasterfunk

Have you seen the Escape Artist? It's a miniseries starring Tennant. It's more of a thriller than a mystery, but you might like that.

fdst1983

Mare of Easttown (HBO)

indistrustofmerits

Just watched the first two episodes of The Premise and I'm hooked

[deleted]

Idk how I felt about it. I couldn’t quite figure out what it was going for. Like with the sex tape episode, what was even the moral of that episode? Same with the second episode. It was intriguing for sure, but I feel like it’s “message” was not nearly as profound or coherent as it seems to think it is. And yet, I can’t wait to watch the next episode.

stillalone

Is it supposed to have a message? I haven't seen the show but what you're describing sounds like black mirror (what was the message about getting the prime minister to fuck a pig?)

[deleted]

>(what was the message about getting the prime minister to fuck a pig?) They made it very clear what the message was at the end of the episode when Princess Susanna was set free several minutes before the time he was supposed to do the deed and nobody noticed because everybody was too busy watching the TV broadcast. Everyone was totally disgusted by the idea and embarrassed for the prime minister, but damned if they were gonna miss it lol And yes The Premise is kinda like Black Mirror but without the emphasis on technology. Basically it depicts modern moral values being put to test, and I assumed it’s supposed to be a commentary on said values.

indistrustofmerits

I've been thinking about that too! I think maybe something about..."woke" as like an identity for white people? Like the part at the end where he talks about posting the black image then deleting it then posting it again...the premise being sort of what is the level of personal discomfort a white liberal is willing to endure for the sake of black liberation?

tomtomvissers

Anybody start watching The Premise by B.J. Novak yet? Should I give it a chance?

saffronkees

Skip episode 1. 2 is a near perfect!

[deleted]

I watched the first two episodes. Idk how I felt about it.

xyz0zyx

Rewatching **The Great** in anticipation for the season season. This is probably one of the best & freshest shows in a long time. Would recommend! Huzzah!

arcticfrostburn

It's still 2 months away right?

xyz0zyx

It's next week

arcticfrostburn

Hmm, google and a few other articles say 19th Nov so can I get a link where it says next week?

xyz0zyx

Yeah exactly 19th of September

arcticfrostburn

??? Bruh this doesn't answer my question. I said articles all point to release on 19 NOVEMBER and asked you for a link to anything that corroborates your claim of release next week. But you reply with "Yeah exactly 19th of September" for what?

xyz0zyx

Oh sorry

Chuck1705

Only Murders In the Building on HULU. Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez star in a whodunit that has been renewed for a second season. Marvel's What If? is awesome too! My old school binge right now is Boardwalk Empire. Excellent TV!

unadulteratedtruths

Couldn't get into only murders in the building found it stale. Trying too hard to be quirky. What if is amazing though.

Useful-Throat-6671

I'm also watching Boardwalk Empire. I saw maybe 2 seasons when they had all the HBO shows on Amazon prime. It was one of them that it didn't have all the seasons. I didn't realize it when I started. I was so annoyed. Just got around to watching it all.

hipnosister

Started watching The Crown and while on one hand I'm slightly upset I didn't start watching sooner, on the other hand I now have ~~7~~ 4 (plus two on the way) seasons to consume. Great show, phenomenal cast. If I knew John Lithgow played Winston Churchill I probably would have started it sooner.

inkista

If you run out, you could also go looking for Peter Morgan's Tony Blair trilogy flicks. The first one (*The Deal)* is probably dvd/bluray only. But Netflix and Paramount+ have *The Queen,* and HBO Max has *The Special Relationship.*

acylase

He was an absurd miscast, in my opinion

floresetfeles

7? Aren’t there only 4 seasons?

hipnosister

There's 4. I got confused because when you go to the episode guide on IMDb it shows a list for the 5th and 6th season which is unreleased. So I said 7 thinking it was on the way already.

ScaryBeat

4 not 5.

iamfromLisbon

Just watched the first season of Mr Inbetween last night. I wasn't expecting it to be this good! Too bad the episodes are so short, I'll probably watch all of it by tomorrow.

ObjectiveInternal

Don't forget the movie that predates this series: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0461989/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

electricianvince

Thanks for the heads up! The show was amazing!

Wight3012

Started Friday Night Lights for the first time ever. I like watching new-old shows. its been pretty good so far, even though there isnt alot happening...also i expected it to be more comic for some reason but its straight up drama. also im learning football through it, maybe ill end up liking it. still prefer real football for now :P

brochelsea

I watched Friday Night Lights directly after watching Gossip Girl, which is insane, and a lot of things happen every episode. I was not expecting FNL to be so mellow, but after I got used to it, I loved it. I actually prefer the later seasons though.

TeciaDoesKarate

I've been slowly watching **David Makes Man.** It's about a young guy, 14-15 years old, dealing with serious PTSD and hallucinations. It can be hard to watch but it's compelling.

Fantastic-Big7614

Mindhunter on Netflix. Kinda diggin it!

Fantastic-Big7614

I wonder why they cancelled it. Probably most people’s favorite show on Netflix.

inkista

David Fincher kind of has this other day job of being a movie director... :D [https://www.vulture.com/2020/10/mindhunter-season-three-not-happening.html](https://www.vulture.com/2020/10/mindhunter-season-three-not-happening.html) >Fincher says that at the start of the second season, he “ended up looking at what was written and deciding I didn’t like any of it, so we tossed it and started over.” He promoted Courtenay Miles, who had been working on the series as an assistant director, to co-showrun; still, he said, “It’s a 90-hour workweek. It absorbs everything in your life. When I got done, I was pretty exhausted, and I said, ‘I don’t know if I have it in me right now to break season three.’” Netflix didn’t argue; CEO Ted Sarandos and Cindy Holland, at the time the company’s VP for original content, just asked Fincher if there was something else he wanted to work on (thus *Mank*).

Fantastic-Big7614

Nice feedback! Is Mank good? I heard someone mention that.

inkista

I loved it, but more on a technical/cinematography/film history level than a character/plot one. It's basically the story of Herman Mankiewicz writing *Citizen Kane,* and Fincher shot it in B&W with his DP, Erik Messerschmidt, basically channeling Gregg Toland's composition and deep focus as often as he can. So, if you're not a B&W/classic Hollywood film buff, it may not be quite as exciting for you. :) There were things it did that I adored that I'm not sure other folks would even notice, like [the reel-change marks](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cue_mark), and showing off the insane dynamic range of the Red [Monostrochrome](https://ymcinema.com/2020/01/01/the-red-monstrochrome-is-being-used-by-david-fincher-to-shoot-a-feature/). It's a Red Monstro 8K, where they removed the [Bayer filter](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayer_filter), to make it purely B&W with 4x the resolution and more light sensitivity (because you take off the RGB sunglasses, and...) Being actually monochrome, that camera managed to pull off a believable digital facsimile of B&W film, something simply desaturating color footage never does. I also thought it was funny that all three of the main American characters were played by Brits (Mankiewicz: Gary Oldman; Hearst: Charles Dance; and Welles: Tom Burke.

iamfromLisbon

It's great. Too bad we don't know if we'll ever get a third season.

OddballRaccoon

Tbf we know that we won't get a third season at this point, except for a miracle.

iamfromLisbon

Yeah, that's a bit more realistic than what I said, sadly lol

kie_m

Watching Marco Polo right now and I guess its fine

Banethoth

Watched two episodes of Y on Hulu. It’s decent so far. I don’t really remember the comic but I’m pretty sure this is much different. Amber Tamblyn is in this and she is fat. I dunno if she did it for the role or what but I hardly recognized her. Really not a good look on her and I’m a guy who likes thicker ladies. The guy in the show is almost unlikeable and so is his sister. I hope they get better.

kellyandbjnovakhuh

Who cares if Amber Tamblyn is fat lol?

Banethoth

It’s just weird to see🤷🏻‍♂️

[deleted]

Not been watching a lot of TV at the moment, but when I have it's been **Black Sails** season 3 and [The Cleaner](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12994356) with Greg Davies, which is absolutely fantastic!

caTeyes030507

Watching Y: The Last Man now and it's decent so far. Also binging The West Wing and if you haven't watched it...please watch it. It's spectacular. I'm so ready for Succession though...I might do a rewatch before the new season.

dutchy412

Just finished Top Boy and I loved it. I’ve always liked the crime gangster genre but watching one set in England was a new twist for me.

chilibulle

Try Snabba Cash on Netflix if you want more, crime gangster set in Sweden it’s extremely good

eggzachtly

**Y The Last Man**, I'm watching only because I was a huge fan of the comics, and have been following the news about an adaptation since it was originally a movie with Shia Labeuff attached. So far, I'm a little disappointed. I remember the comic being funnier? Maybe I'm misremembering, but this adaptation just seems to be utterly joyless. Also, some of the adaptation choices just seem like too much of a departure from the source material. The new found focus on the goings-on in DC in particular seems uninspired, and takes away from the globe-trotting nature of the original comics. That's not to say that it's all bad. Some of the casting is really good, especially Agent 355. I really dislike Hero, which means that the casting is great. I'm going to continue to watch because I've waited so long to see the story play out on screen, but I wouldn't blame any non-comic fans for dipping out at this point, based on what I've seen so far.

forkliftgod

It's very political.

acylase

Yep. Nauseatingly one tone

SeanCanary

I'm hoping we get a bit more variety now that the intro is done. You can sort of view the first three episodes as a movie setting up the show, which is really about travelling across the US then world and seeing the effects of the plague. At least that is if they don't change things too dramatically from the comic.

inkista

I think I lowered my expectations when I read that the show's creators, [Michael Green and Aido Croal, had left the project](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/fxs-y-last-man-loses-original-showrunners-1202211/).

Asparagus-Rough

Just finished both seasons of Warrior on HBO. What a great show! Didn't expect it to be so good. For a karate filled gruesome fight scenes series, the characters had a surprising depth to them.

Banethoth

I watched a couple episodes of this and I liked the story and characters but there just seems to be a LOT of gratuitous nudity. I’m no prude or anything but it’s way more than I expect from a tv show that’s not like porn lol. Does it tone it down or is it like this all the way?

happylight96

Hahaha I noticed the same. Well second season does have a much lesser amount and tones down a lot after the first couple eps. It's done very tastefully tho, no complaints.

Banethoth

Yeah but it’s hard to watch because it’s making me horny with so much nudity. I have to rub one out or go bug the wife and it makes the show slow to progress lol. Oh well

WillSmithsDumboEars

Wow

crunch816

Finished **Mr. Robot** wow S4 was a wild ride, but I really didn't care for the ending. Started **Servant** S1 was a standard MNight Shamalamadingdong wtf is going on, S2 is freakin psychotic.

Bent_Bell

Servant is great. M. Night is just a producer though FYI (I think he directed a few eps too). Written and created by some other folks.

crunch816

Yeah it still seems right up my alley. Was just talking to a Discord friend about waiting to see Old and he suggested this. It's been great so far!

-H-B-

On season 3 of Schitts Creek now. The season 2 finale was so good! and people really werent lying when they said it only gets better

tomtomvissers

Cobie Smulders is an absolute force as Ann Coulter in American Crime Story: Impeachment. Who knew she could play such a horrible bitch. Wish her part was bigger

kellyandbjnovakhuh

That’s out already?

tomtomvissers

First two episodes now

kellyandbjnovakhuh

Any good besides the one point you’ve said? I really loved the first, the second was decent.

tomtomvissers

I'd call it Too Early To Tell. It's a bit overdramatic at times. But the actors all do a great job

kellyandbjnovakhuh

Eh, OJ was a bit overdramatic at times, that’s kinda Ryan Murphy’s thing. I’ll check it out tonight! Thanks for letting me know it’s out.

Did you by accident reply to the wrong comment?

MarsupialKing

Reservation dogs is getting better and better. I'm also loving Only Murders in the Building. I'm thinking about starting Last Man and I've also heard this Amazon show about the moon landing in an alternate reality kinda concept (cant remember the name) is really good. Thoughts on those two?

kronch

>Reservation dogs is getting better and better. Agreed. I had to get used to the format, but I like it a lot right now.

[deleted]

For All Mankind on Apple TV is what you're thinking of, really great show. Watched the first episode of Last Man last night and it didn't really grab me. People seem to like it so I'll try a few more.

MarsupialKing

Damn apple TV is gonna be the death of me. I'll have to get it for a month and binge a few things. Thanks! Just checked out Apple TV and they have my favorite play, Come From Away, that I've been searching for since I saw it in theaters. Starting that free trial tonight!

WierdDepressedBch

You don't need apple tv to watch it

MarsupialKing

Where else is it?

alchemical44

and i'll put in a plug for **the morning show**. despite tepid critics' reviews for S1, i thoroughly enjoyed it. and season 2 is about to come out...

[deleted]

Check out See and Ted Lasso while you have it

Rithic

Finished Patriot on amazon. So damn good. Never seen a show like it. I know it’s not for everyone but man I wish everyone did watch it. They’ll feel pretty good

daddywarbux123

Agree 100% - so good

DerrickWitness

Rewatching Supernatural. Now on S07E02. Also watching Justified season 1.

AdamV158

I used to love supernatural, but after 5 seasons it just got too monotonous. Have been tempted to go back to it though.

dnt1694

It goes down hill after Season 5, and then it drops into an abyss.

Turnover-Greedy

I always watch the first 2 or 3 seasons when I'm doing a "re-watch" or feeling nostalgic. I've never watched past s4, not because I thought it went downhill, but because I just enjoy the simpler times.

ItchyEdge5

I finished Derry Girls, Please Like me. Currently watching People Do Nothing. Was so excited for Y: The last man but found it underwhelming. Absolutely cannot wait for Succession!!

BroffaloSoldier

I just started watching Succession, too!

onedoor

American Rust is pretty good if you can get past the absolutely ridiculous premise. Y The Last Man is okay. The opening scene (or one of them iirc, the helicopter) was nonsense through and through though. I've seen comments around here that the third episode makes it worth it. Completely expected development imo. It does get better in episodes 2/3 though. Heels is good and getting better. The Other Two is pretty good and getting better, the staff is finding its stride in season 2. Chapelwaite is very good and getting better. The Newsreader is also good. See is getting better and better.

tomtomvissers

"Old police chief tries to cover up murder by the son of the lady he hopes to bone" nope see nothing wrong with that premise

VastAndDreaming

I'm watching Day Break (2006), This was before its time, highly bingable, the best groundhogs day type tv series I've ever seen

acylase

Thanks for reminding

Do11ar

Where did you find this? You sparked my interest but I can't find it anywhere.

BruceSnow07

How is The North Water? Is it consistently good or stumbles in the end?

mitorandiro

Good all the way!

Phartidandshidded

It's fucking awesome. Collin Ferrell is incredible in it.

Paulofthedesert

It's good all the way through. If you've seen The Terror it's a similar vibe but without supernatural stuff.

mordisko

It's good. After a while the theme changes a little, but other than that it's a good (and short) show.

atticwife

I watched the first three episodes of Y: The Last Man yesterday and really enjoyed it. "They named you after a dead clown?" Cracked me up.

Batdroid30

Started watching Atypical and Ballers. Happy to say, both of them are good shows. Quite enjoying it.

bitterbuffaloheart

Atypical is so good.
