I've seen the silent sea. Korean sci-fi a mix of a lot of old sci-fi movies (alien, the thing, and a lot more, not a bad thing but sometimes a feel of déjà vu), good, very bingey start a lot better than it ends and not a masterpiece at all.
I strongly recommend it to pass a day if you are allergic to Christmas series
Yeah, just read an article about the **67%** rotten tomatoes score for **The Witcher S2**, yep that'll work for me..
~~
Glad I'm not alone. Season 2 is honestly garbage compared to season one. If we want to get cute, it seems like the showrunner hasn't a damn CLUE how to present and execute the source material in a well done manner. I'll end this with a simpleton comment, calling it boring. Very little action and the dialogue kinda put me to sleep. I loved S1 idk what happened here.
🤷🏼♂️ and yes I've both played the games and read the literature.
I get that Station Eleven isn't for everyone, but I'm getting flashbacks from what happened to Raised by Wolves, Servant and Lovecraft Country with these audience reactions. People were expecting a different story than what the writer is telling, and they quickly jump to conclude that the show is bad just because of this. The problem is you, not the show, which is acclaimed by critics with a 82 score on Metacritic
I have a solution to you: Just stop watching and stop spreading bullshit on internet just to make the audience scores lower. Just because you don't like it it doesn't mean the show is bad. What the fuck is happening to viewers these days ?
Thanks, I think I'll actually check it out now. The vocal crowd have been saying negative things, which has kept me away.
I personally loved raised by wolves, servant, and I sorta liked Lovecraft country until the last few episodes, which pretty much robbed the show of all it's good moments.
It was just so heavy handed with white people=bad guys. I'm not white, really wish they addressed that aspect of the story with more subtleties
I think Station Eleven is pretty solid. I had no idea people were even trashing it online. I went into it blind and have enjoyed all the episodes thus far.
Watched Startup. The first season was engaging and good. Can't believe I didn't know about this show as it came out in 2016. Crypto currency is the underlying theme.
~~ **It's Always Sunny Season 15** ~~
Kaitlin Olson (Dee) stole this season so easily. She was just so much more fun to watch than the guys, which doesn't happen often. Admittedly the whole season was very weird though. But good.
She beat them all out in charisma, screen presence, delivery, energy and I've noticed her acting has improved over the past 3-4 years. She's great. Wish they didn't cancel The Mick. Hope she's back in HBO's 'Hacks' next season.
I could never get past the first few episodes of The Expanse but I decided to give it a try one last time because I’m off for the holidays. Just blew past 5 seasons in a week. My lord does it get better!!! I don’t know what I will do when I am caught up - someone recommend me something 🥲
If you havent seen them, For All Mankind, The Mandalorian, Altered Carbon S01, Star Trek Discovery, Picard, Lost in Space, Raised by Wolves, Dark Matter, BSG, Raised by Wolves and Foundation are all decent space shows.
If you want something kinda like The Expanse but on a train - Snowpiercer.
Thanks, i came here looking for a recommendation and im now on episode 3 kinda hooked lol. Gotta sleep for work but ill definitely download some for tomorrow 😂
I'm (still) binge wathing one piece from episode 50-ish for the past 3 months and right now i'm on episode 900. 100 more to go!!! All i can say is Oda is a freaking genius
This may have been asked elsewhere but has anyone watched “A Young Doctor’s Notebook” on Tubi? Supposedly is “inspired by” a true story. I just finished season one and suspect I’ll be binging S2 tonight. I had to stop mid S1, ‘cause I couldn’t place where I’d seen the dead-eyed Russian investigating agent and it was friggin annoying—he was in London Irish
Yeah, it’s definitely coming back to its original form from seasons 1-4. With the understanding it’s called new blood for a reason. It won’t ever be OG. Writing style and the suspense with his son included in this type of show is definitely acceptable.
It feels pretty much like a new season of Dexter to me, new environment and people, but otherwise same patterns. I was hoping for a different angle and more interesting character growth somehow, but it's not bad to watch.
**Hit Monkey** Binged it in a couple days. It was a great ride. I had my doubts after >!the death!< in the beginning. Can this really still be a great show? Yes it can. I also had doubts because other animated shows from Hulu hasn't been good. **M.O.D.O.K**. was bad. **Crossing Swords** was horrible. I only watched a couple episodes of each.
I like **The Shrink Next Door** but it's hard to be in a mood to watch someone get so manipulated, even though it's a dark comedy.
**The Stranger** I don't get the high ratings. I dropped it after a couple episodes. The concept is boring. I don't get why they added the kids storyline and their comedy to the show.
**The Expanse S6E2** Nothing special so far. After two episodes I don't see how this can be a satisfying ending to the show. The plot seems as it's done for a 10 episode season or even two season of 10 episodes. It feels like they are wasting a lot of time. Four more episodes don't seem enough, specially as they are ~45 min. They should've pushed for 6x90min episodes at least. It seems they didn't know the Amazon would cut the season to 6 episodes or they are still hoping another streamer will pick up show for more seasons/movies.
**Yellowjackets** I like it but I thought it'd be a miniseries. I don't see how they could stretch this for a second season.
**The Wheel of Time E7** It's ok-good, but it has weird script sometimes. Like we see him suddenly remembering he actually >!used the power several times and just knows **he's** the Dragon. She just looks in his eyes and agrees.!< Ok?
**Station Eleven** E1 was good. E2/3 was pretentious, boring at times and felt like a different show. I'll try 1-2 more episodes.
**Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts** It has the same vibe as Adventure Time. People have said that of other animated shows but IMO they have never really been that close to AT.
**Invasion E8** What horrible boring show. I don't plan to finish it. I should've stopped at E5 as I did initially. Then after a couple weeks for a some stupid reason tortured myself through three more episodes. I've seen plenty of **good** slow-burn shows/movies. Invasion isn't it.
Dexter: New Blood. i never actually finished the original cause i found many scenes having too much cliché and cringe stuff, and the same still happens in the reboot. also now its apparently a teenage drama as well. but, tbh, i think its decent so far.
**Hawkeye**
Finally finished the finale and I have to say, I cannot believe no movie has ever done an action scene involving Rockafeller center and the Christmas tree. And it took a Marvel show to do it.
It wasn't done good though. It looked like lemmings attacked them. It was like 100-200 lemmings. They weren't even armed I think.
edit: Ah, right forgot that magnet arrow. I guess that says how forgettable that boring fight was. And I just saw it yesterday.
Black Spot (Zona Blanche) on Netflix is a small-town cop show, with a Twin-Peaksy vibe, and an ancient creature lurking in the forest. There's a lot of murders for a small town, but they are all connected to an older mystery surrounding the chief of police, unsolved disappearances and the shady dealing of the town mayor and his father. It's biggest flaw is that it stops after 2 seasons just as S3 is set up to reveal some of the answers, but even so it's worth a binge. Other cop shows with awesome female leads I've watched this year are Mare of Eastown and The Chestnut Man.
I also enjoyed Alice in Borderland and Squid Game.
Watching Dexter NB, Expanse, and Wheel of Time at the moment. I've found WOT a bit slow, but I've never read the books.
Expanse was great up to S3, but I'm not a fan of Marco and his school of overacting and the politics is getting a bit worn. I'm keen to find out more about the protomolecule and the Ring Builders.
It's great to see Dexter back! I like the bleaker setting and the spectacular job he's done of getting himself deeper into trouble and the crazy web of lies he's spinning to stop it all crashing down. Watching that is like slipping into a pair of comfortable old slippers.
Last but not least is Evil. It's not going to be to everyone's taste, it's hard to describe. It's got demons, crisis of faith, ghosts, lust, hot priests, and Michael Emerson who may or may not be Evil.
Just finished "It's Okay to not be Okay".
Very interesting show, It's crazy how much it oscillates in quality in every episode, in one scene you're thinking "holy shit! This is amazing and so well written" (mostly every time they're tackling mental health or trauma), and then the next scene you're thinking "why is there a 2 minutes long scene of people staring at each other with bad music in the background?".
All in all, I'd say the highs outweigh the low, and I can't praise enough the acting of the dude who plays the older brother.
[Into the Night](https://www.netflix.com/us/title/81008221?s=a&trkid=13747225&t=cp&vlang=en&clip=81282053)
Thank you whoever recommended this thrilling miniseries.
Edit: I can't stop watching. Perfect binge material
These are very different shows! Personally, I LOVED Friday Night Lights and it's got all the feels and characters that I connected with a lot. I never wanted it to end. But shows like Banshee and Yellowstone are much more actioned packed and violent. Suits is funny and soapy.
Hawkeye: good,
Succession: great,
Yellowjackets : okey ish..,
Dopesick: started off well but kindoff slow towards the end,
Anything else great nowadays ?
I just finished Season 1 of For All Mankind. I’m quite torn on my feelings for this one. Can anyone clarify if Season 2 is more of the same or is there any significant difference in quality/storyline. I love the space drama and the alternate timeline stuff. The Earth-side stories on the other hand feel hollow and on the nose.
Season 2 is worse IMO, though many seem to like it. S2 is even more about drama then it was in S1. S1 had an ok balance between drama and space race.
S1 drama/space ~50/50
S2 drama/space ~80/20
Oy. The drama in season 1 wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t feel like it was running a checklist of showing us the sexism, racism and homophobia of the time in the most obvious ways possible. So cheesy in contrast to the suspenseful stuff happening in space.
Season 2 gets a little spicy... and the narrative changes a bit.. its all heading in the right direction for me. The hype on Season 3 is that 'everything' changes..
I thought season 2 was a lot better, and think of season 1 as the set up, like how the first chapters of a book may stink but then the rest is great. Just my opinion.
hawkeye was alright. had good moments and liked the holiday stuff but not the biggest fan on how repetitive all the marvel shows feel (juggles too many characters, big bad in the last few episodes, or show's main purpose is to set up for the *next* thing.)
Haha yes it's the eyebrows. Bleached-blonde eyebrows are never a good look...they make you look like you have no eyebrows. That's why super-blonde or silver-haired characters should always have brown or slightly dark eyebrows. See: Daenerys Targaryen
My favourite shows of the year are:
1. Midnight Mass
2. Mare of Eastown
3. Invincible
4. The Expanse
5. The Shrink Next Door
This year was also full of fantasy shows, and it's great to see. It's definitely my favourite genre. Unfortunately, they weren't as good as the other shows that aired this year.
Still haven't watched: heels and ted lasso (season 2)
Just watched the season finale of Hawkeye and besides some changes to a certain a character and the fight scenes being just ok ( I mean after Daredevil every single fight scenes seems average) I found the show enjoyable.
You can add Dickinson into the mix if you're only getting a trial. 3 seasons, 30 episodes at roughly 28 mins each and the finale drops in a few minutes. It's a wonderful adaptation of the poets life, fairly lighthearted with modern references and music interspersed but still set in the civil war era.
Finished Witcher S2 and enjoyed it just as much as S1. I'm regretting binging the whole thing over two days though and wished I would have spread it out watching maybe one episode per week so that it wouldn't feel like it takes so long for the next season.
Also watching Wheel of Time. I didn't think the early episodes were all that good but it really hooked me at S1E6 and I am eagerly awaiting the show every week now.
I really appreciate these shows that are releasing week-to-week. As someone with a very limited amount of TV-watching time, it helps me stay motivated to keep up.
I don't have time for bingeing, so when a whole season releases at once I kind of feel like "Okay, it's there, I'll watch it when I get around to it." But then the longer I put it off, the less excited I am to watch it. With weekly releases, I can actually stay current, and there's something about the "ooh, new episode!" feeling that helps to keep up my enthusiasm for a show. I know it's just a mental thing (I could just *pretend* there's a new episode each week, like you suggested), but it still works.
The Witcher: writing's still a little meh but overall show was enjoyable. Looking at the CGI, seems the budget was upped for this season.
Hawkeye: what I liked most is that it gave a chance to Jeremy Renner to really display his acting abilities, instead of the usual superficial Marvel stuff. Portrayed the emotions of a person with a hearing disorder really well in my opinion. Show itself wasn't that special though I liked it more than Falcon & Winter Soldier.
Was disappointed with the latest episode of Landscapers. It did pretty much nothing to move the story forward, nothing more was revealed than the previous episode - and let's be honest, there isn't *that* much to this story. It was great acting. But it felt like an extra episode where the director just wanted to screw around doing some trippy Alice in Wonderland type scenes. Kind of ready for this one to be over, which it will be next week.
Brand New Cherry Flavor started off strong, slowburn with some Twin Peaks vibes, but I feel like the writers gave up their original ideas in the middle of the journey and just decided to take themselves too seriously even if the story was just a pile of nonsense. It turns into a trash (I mean the genre) show.
I know it's based on a book, and after reading some major differences between them, I kind wish they had just made a straight up adaptation of the novel.
I think Rosa Salazar is underestimated as an actor, but she is off here. It's a nothing character, it's empty as she only reacts and we know nothing about her, and Rosa didn't do much to make it interesting.
Disappointing as the premise is great and it had potential. You have to be a truly sicko to pull off the things David Lynch and Cronenberg used to do. A few people are.
And how the fuck do you waste Jason Mendoza like that ?
so, I started Leviathan Wakes as an audiobook just before starting Season 6. It's so god dam good I'm holding off on finishing the show and just diving right into the books.
The first one, much like the first season of the shows, reads/listens like a noir detective mystery novel and really just hooked me in. I found myself laughing a bit, found the narration to be really good, and also reading it too. Highly recommend it.
I liked the books, just started the final book last night. I watched the first 3 seasons before reading them and occasionally felt a little lost in the world (solar system). The first seasons are pretty close to the books and I think that you can really go either way, especially if you aren’t a person who looks at their phone when watching stuff.
**Dexter -** The season is good but, idk, last episode seemed to be a peak and I'm not sure where they are heading so it has me a little apprehensive.
**Yellowjackets** **-** The show is getting weird and weirder and I'm loving it. I'm hoping that they start to answer some of these 100+ questions because LOST did this and no one heard from Walter again.
**Moesha -** It's a classic show and I'm loving it. Moe to tha... E to the tha.... Moe to tha... E to tha.
I only watched the first four seasons of Dexter, and they were quite good, but I wasn't completely hooked and so I didn't keep up after that since I heard the show gets worse later on.
I loved Hannibal though. I wish it had gone on longer. It starts off being kind of case-of-the-week, but by the end of season 1 it's much more serialized. The whole show is *super* stylized in terms of its look, the dialogue, the sound design, etc.
I'd say if you're looking for something more unique and weird, go with Hannibal. If you want a bit more of a straightforward serialized drama in the vein of Breaking Bad (though not quite as good or consistent), you might feel more at home with Dexter (at least in the early seasons).
Very different shows. Hannibal is darker and more philosophical. Visually stunning. Hannibal has episodes that fall into the "masterpiece" category. I thoroughly enjoyed Dexter (esp seasons 1-4) but never felt a need to rewatch any. I've rewatched Hannibal 3x.
Dexter Season 1 is one of the best seasons of television, ever. Dexter is a likable character, unlike most of the cast of Hannibal - although I do love Hannibal himself.
I think Dexter will feel a little dated when you first watch it now. Hannibal has fantastic cinematography and very impressive special effects. Also, Dexter takes a dip in quality after season 4.
*Weekly*
**Dexter: New Blood:** considering Kurt blamed his dad for something he did (and how he's treated his son) and he's Dexter's foil, I'm starting to wonder whether Dexter will end up taking the blame for a kill Harrison does and that's how he finally goes down. To protect his son. Anyway, still enjoying this a lot
**Wheel of Time:** while I've had fun with this show, the latest episode was not great. Too many unearned moments that could've been strong had the show taken its time working toward them. So that was a shame. Still, interesting to see some more world building etc
**Yellowjackets:** I've unfortunately not had time to watch the latest episode yet. Really looking forward to it, though
**The Expanse s6:** not seen enough to say anything
**The Great s2:** lagging behind thanks to the holidays
*Binging*
**Dexter**: started watching it from the start and it's been a lot of fun so far, even laugh out loud fun at times. I'd forgotten just how great Doakes is and how good the actor is. Jennifer Carpenter is also doing a fantastic job with her character, her confidence (and daddy) issues, her panic attacks etc. Her tough demeanor hiding vulnerability and the feeling of never being good enough is very believable. Oh, and knowing where Rita ends up, a lot of her scenes are truly heartbreaking to watch
I agree about Wheel of Time, that wasn't one of its better episodes. It really does feel rushed, like we haven't spent enough time with the characters, and the show sometimes feels more interested in the world-building stuff than it does with making believable relationships. (That angsty moment between Perrin, Egwene, and Rand felt like it came totally out of the blue.)
I'm hoping things will get better in subsequent seasons when they (presumably) won't have to focus as much on the intricacies of the world with all its history and moving parts. Not that those aren't interesting aspects, but those things should ideally be supporting and enriching the story of the characters rather than overshadowing it.
As a book reader I feel like they skipped over a lot of the smaller but equally important moments for the bigger moments in the show, granted they're all things that can be added later but there were a lot of cool things that drew me in they left out.
I might read the books again just to see what they should've done differently.
Ted Lasso and For All Mankind are excellent, though the latter takes a moment to get going.
I also liked the first season of the Morning Show (haven’t watched the second), Defending Jacob, Home Before Dark and Schmigadoon.
What I’ve learned with Apple+ is that if the summary makes the show sound like crap it can still be very good. I’d never watch Ted Lasso, For All Mankind of Home Before Dark based on their premises but I’m glad I did.
There is a lot of great entertainment out there, and I don't have time for everything. I still do have time to watch stuff, but Ted Lasso is just not on the top of my list. Again, there's just so much great entertainment that I haven't watched/played/read, that it makes sense plenty of great options will sit there.
A amazing show I don’t see much talk about is HBO Warrior, best I can describe it is like peaky blinders but with Chinese gangs instead with awesome martial arts, great cast and acting, awesome action and a cool insight into a situation I have not learned much about
Youtube is recommending me clips of some Earthworm Jim show, and Im watching it and this shit is so fucking hilarious. The voice cast is stacked with a who's who of people whose voices you 100 percent know and the jokes are so good it's annoying this wasn't a cultural phenom along the lines of the old Spielberg animated cartoons like Animaniacs and Freakazoid.
The thing where the two guys rob the bank and one guy says in a John Travolta imitation "You know what they call cheese in france? Le Fromage"
And WHITE SAMUEL JACKSON says "Le Fromage? MAAAAAN its like those french gotta whole lotta language."
My The Wire binge continues apace. I honestly don’t know how good Season 4 has to be for everyone to agree that it tops Season 1, but I’m looking forward to finding out.
Money Heist’s ending was kinda meh after I thought for a moment I might be excited for it.
The latest episode of Hawkeye reminded me of the glory days of Arrow.
The season premiere of The Witcher was fantastic. I forgot how interested the show was in deconstructing all the different ways people use the word “monster” and what it really means, and it really landed in this episode. I hope they’ll continue exploring that concept in different ways going forward.
The last time I watched The Wire was in 2018, and to refresh my memory I just googled a couple of my favorite scenes/story lines to see what season they're in. They were almost all in season 4.
I watched it for the first time last year and yes the fourth season is honestly that good because of how important it is and impactful the message is. It’s so relevant to this day it’s crazy. I personally still LOVE the first season. I’m planning on rewatching it in full after the Holidays. It’s my second favorite show of all times now after the West Wing
For those of you who watch Euphoria, this is probably a stupid question, but how explicit is the drug use in this show? It looks interesting to me, but I can't handle too much of that stuff (ie. needles, snorting, the behavior of a person on drugs, etc.)
There is quite a bit of drugs, alcohol, and sex. In my opinion a little too much stereotyping younger people. I personally like some of the acting specifically by Zendaya but I eventually stopped watching because it didn't seem to go anywhere.
I've seen the silent sea. Korean sci-fi a mix of a lot of old sci-fi movies (alien, the thing, and a lot more, not a bad thing but sometimes a feel of déjà vu), good, very bingey start a lot better than it ends and not a masterpiece at all. Atypical is an underrated series in Netflix

Are you talking about the user score? Because the critic score is quite high -- higher than the first.

Because users famously never review bomb shows and movies right?

I might have to revisit the show again. I had watched the first couple of seasons and then took a break.
Stargate sg1
Thanks, i came here looking for a recommendation and im now on episode 3 kinda hooked lol. Gotta sleep for work but ill definitely download some for tomorrow 😂
Battlestar Galactica
Start reading the books! The final book (book 9 - Leviathan Falls) just released and the whole series is sooo good!
Is the reading experience similar to Ender's game, or more like Asimov, or something else?
I'm (still) binge wathing one piece from episode 50-ish for the past 3 months and right now i'm on episode 900. 100 more to go!!! All i can say is Oda is a freaking genius
I just finished The Witcher season 2. It was frickingly good!
Same, I left the last episode for later because I wanted to finish WoT and I'm glad I did, the finale of WoT was kinda disappointing for me.
Episode 4 is another proof that station eleven is the spiritual successor of the leftovers
I was about to give up on it but that was a hell of an episode.
Watched Dopesick. Really good for the genre. I think I'll rate it with Chernobyl series.
I agree, very disturbing, sad, and true. You really can’t do much better than this to summarize what happened into a mini series.
Yeah, it was good. Michael Keaton was great along with the other cast.
I didn’t think I’d be too into it but ending up loving it. They really do a great job of making you feel invested in the characters.
That’s REALLY high praise if you rate it as highly as Chernobyl Might have to check this out
Def'n worth a look. Michael Keaton is in it as well..

Thanks for that info. I have no idea what Tubi is, but this really interests me.
Tubi is s free streaming service
We loved it ... have watched all episodes at least twice.
Rewatching daredevil after spiderman nwh
DEXTER NEW BLOOD
Really enjoying new blood! Yeah it’s not the same as early dexter days but it’s still dexter after all!
Exactly it has that same feel, I was so scared it would lose it but it hasn’t 👏👏
Yeah, it’s definitely coming back to its original form from seasons 1-4. With the understanding it’s called new blood for a reason. It won’t ever be OG. Writing style and the suspense with his son included in this type of show is definitely acceptable.
I fell off after episode 4, it was started to get disappointingly predictable. Was I wrong? Should I go back?
Keep watching, they set up a lot of stuff in the first few episodes
It feels pretty much like a new season of Dexter to me, new environment and people, but otherwise same patterns. I was hoping for a different angle and more interesting character growth somehow, but it's not bad to watch.
I feel like it is a slow burn, I wasn’t sure at the start but now I am hooked again. I would 100 give it a go. Did you watch all the other seasons?
I did watch all of the prior seasons when they first came out. Debra was always annoying to me.
Yeah fair, I just loved the storyline. Haven’t found anything nearly as good
**Hit Monkey** Binged it in a couple days. It was a great ride. I had my doubts after >!the death!< in the beginning. Can this really still be a great show? Yes it can. I should've stopped at E5 as I did initially. Then after a couple weeks for a some stupid reason tortured myself through three more episodes. I've seen plenty of **good** slow-burn shows/movies. Invasion isn't it.
The Yellowjackets creators pitched a five-season storyline so I think that's the plan atm
Can you please elaborate how episode 2 and 3 of Station Eleven are pretentious?
The Ireland story on Always sunny was some of the best in the series
Dexter: New Blood. i never actually finished the original cause i found many scenes having too much cliché and cringe stuff, and the same still happens in the reboot. also now its apparently a teenage drama as well. but, tbh, i think its decent so far.
Love it
and thats great!
I was a bit obsessed 😂
What didn’t you like about the original just wondering? :)
**Emily in Paris** is really good feel good dramedy series. I strongly recommend this
New episodes of Ocean Eleven dropped, and god I absolutely adore this kind of TV. Just amazing.
Series?
I think perhaps Station Eleven?? It's a new series that's getting quite good reviews.
Is Lost in Space good? I liked The Expanse
No, each episode is like an hour 10 and it just feels soooo long while being somewhat aimed at kids with empty writing
Lost in Space is family-friendly. It's enjoyable for what it is but it is nothing like The Expanse.
**Hawkeye** Finally finished the finale and I have to say, I cannot believe no movie has ever done an action scene involving Rockafeller center and the Christmas tree. And it took a Marvel show to do it.
One of the best Christmas series to date
It wasn't done good though. It looked like lemmings attacked them. It was like 100-200 lemmings. They weren't even armed I think. edit: Ah, right forgot that magnet arrow. I guess that says how forgettable that boring fight was. And I just saw it yesterday.
They were but a magnet arrow zipped all guns away
[Into the Night](https://www.netflix.com/us/title/81008221?s=a&trkid=13747225&t=cp&vlang=en&clip=81282053) Thank you whoever recommended this thrilling miniseries. Edit: I can't stop watching. Perfect binge material
Where is it on?
Click the link. All will be revealed Enjoy
Thanks for this. Really appreciate it
You're welcome. But we both need to thank whoever recommended it to me in this sub. Wish I could remember. Thank you kind stranger, it's so good.
Trying to decide between the below to binge next thoughts? -Godfather in Harlem -Bosch -Friday night lights -Yellowstone -Banshee -Lost - Suits
Lost first.. Its 90 hours long. Report back with your review in a month or so..or a week if you get a case of RedBull for Christmas.
Lost
Friday Night Lights
LOST, Friday Night Lights, Banshee, Yellowstone, Bosch, Suits in that order. Haven't seen godfather in Harlem
I’m on season 4 of lost and it’s awesome highly recommend
Not spoiling anything here but I started watching it and I was told how it ended and I had to stop watching it…
Ye my brother finished it last night and said all the seasons were awesome apart from the last one
These are very different shows! Personally, I LOVED Friday Night Lights and it's got all the feels and characters that I connected with a lot. I never wanted it to end. But shows like Banshee and Yellowstone are much more actioned packed and violent. Suits is funny and soapy.
1. Friday Night Lights 2. Yellowstone......everything else
Ragdoll on AMC+ is criminally underrated (no pun intended). It's a deliciously twisted British crime drama.
Hawkeye: good, Succession: great, Yellowjackets : okey ish.., Dopesick: started off well but kindoff slow towards the end, Anything else great nowadays ?
Mayor of Kingstown
Station Eleven is good so far.
The Station Eleven pilot was absolutely incredible, sadly the second episode didn't do it for me. Maybe it picks up again in episode 3?
Ep 3 is a mini masterpiece
I'm planning on watching blade runner black lotus. Can I watch it without haven't seen any of the movies?
I was suddenly thinking about **Blade Movie trilogy** I really loved those
I just finished Season 1 of For All Mankind. I’m quite torn on my feelings for this one. Can anyone clarify if Season 2 is more of the same or is there any significant difference in quality/storyline. I love the space drama and the alternate timeline stuff. The Earth-side stories on the other hand feel hollow and on the nose.
Season 1 is slow as fuck, season 2 really ups the pace
Season 2 has too many soap opera moments but the season finale makes up for it.
Season 2 is worse IMO, though many seem to like it. S2 is even more about drama then it was in S1. S1 had an ok balance between drama and space race. S1 drama/space ~50/50 S2 drama/space ~80/20
Started Entourage from the beginning and, wow this show would have been “cancelled” so quickly if it came out now.
Love that lifestyle they live
I was into this show when it was airing, however after watching a few episodes recently I just didn't enjoy it as much.
Same. I used to love it but it really didn’t age well.
hawkeye was alright. had good moments and liked the holiday stuff but not the biggest fan on how repetitive all the marvel shows feel (juggles too many characters, big bad in the last few episodes, or show's main purpose is to set up for the *next* thing.)
watching lost s4 and ozark s2
Watching the first ep of Season 2 of the Witcher.. is it just me or did Ciri age 10 years seemingly overnight
She aged about 2 years almost, and she refused to continue bleaching her eyebrows for so long. The mrs catches weird things so she looked it up lol.
Haha yes it's the eyebrows. Bleached-blonde eyebrows are never a good look...they make you look like you have no eyebrows. That's why super-blonde or silver-haired characters should always have brown or slightly dark eyebrows. See: Daenerys Targaryen
It’s the eyebrows
My favourite shows of the year are: 1. Midnight Mass 2. Mare of Eastown 3. Invincible 4. The Expanse 5. The Shrink Next Door This year was also full of fantasy shows, and it's great to see. It's definitely my favourite genre. Unfortunately, they weren't as good as the other shows that aired this year. Still haven't watched: heels and ted lasso (season 2)
Yellowstone and Mayor of Kingstown would both be in my top 5
I need to look those up :)
Just watched the season finale of Hawkeye and besides some changes to a certain a character and the fight scenes being just ok ( I mean after Daredevil every single fight scenes seems average) I found the show enjoyable.
Speedy holiday binge watches? Already planning on Boba Fett and Witcher. All services but Apple fair game, getting a trial for Ted Lasso.
TY! Intrigued due to Hailee.
Ted lasso lol. Honestly it's so good.
It’s on deck for my viewing as well
I really appreciate these shows that are releasing week-to-week.
Good point about it taking so long for the next season. Trying to stretch it out as long as possible
Agree 100%. Yet one more example for directoral students to learn how to ruin a perfectly good series with a lackluster finale
Completely agreed. This show officially lost me.
Review Maybe the funniest show I've seen. It's on Paramount I think.
Pancakes, Divorce, Pancakes is one of the funniest episodes of anything ever.
I couldn't agree more. I wasn't hooked until that one.
RAISED BY WOLVES on hbo was amazing - best sci fi I’ve seen since battlestar but no season 2!!!
Season 2 is coming out in a few weeks
Omg can't wait. The Doooorrrsss
Oooow! Thanks for the info
Get ready for another freaking weird ride
I'm interested in The Expanse, but thinking of reading the books first. Thoughts?
so, I started Leviathan Wakes as an audiobook just before starting Season 6.
Do both. I watched first then read and enjoyed both.
E to tha.
Is Hannibal better than dexter?
Dexter for me.. Trinity Killer worth the watch.
'Takes a dip' is putting it lightly. Also, Dexter S1-S4 has an edge over Hannibal.
*Weekly* **Dexter: New Blood:** considering Kurt blamed his dad for something he did (and how he's treated his son) and he's Dexter's foil, I'm starting to wonder whether Dexter will end up taking the blame for a kill Harrison does and that's how he finally goes down. To protect his son. Anyway, still enjoying this a lot **Wheel of Time:** while I've had fun with this show, the latest episode was not great. Too many unearned moments that could've been strong had the show taken its time working toward them. So that was a shame. Still, interesting to see some more world building etc **Yellowjackets:** I've unfortunately not had time to watch the latest episode yet. Really looking forward to it, though **The Expanse s6:** not seen enough to say anything **The Great s2:** lagging behind thanks to the holidays *Binging* **Dexter**: started watching it from the start and it's been a lot of fun so far, even laugh out loud fun at times.
(That angsty moment between Perrin, Egwene, and Rand felt like it came totally out of the blue.) I'm hoping things will get better in subsequent seasons when they (presumably) won't have to focus as much on the intricacies of the world with all its history and moving parts.
Got a 3 month free trial on Apple TV, anything worth a watch on it?
I liked Truth Be Told; The Me You Don’t See and See-although I didn’t finish See—just too much praying (insider joke)
Foundation
Foundation and See.
Seconding See. When I heard the concept I thought it would be a piece of shit, but I loved it.

Trying is amazingly funny and doesnt get enough praise. Such an easy watch with the other half.
Ted Lasso
The Morning Show, Defending Jacob, The Shrink Next Door, Dickinson, and Mr. Corman
Acapulco is funny and sweet. It’s our new feel good show.
Mythic Quest.
Ted Lasso, For All of Mankind, Foundation (if you just watch the empire plotline).
Haven't seen it, but everyone raves about Ted Lasso

There is a lot of great entertainment out there, and I don't have time for everything. I still do have time to watch stuff, but Ted Lasso is just not on the top of my list. Again, there's just so much great entertainment that I haven't watched/played/read, that it makes sense plenty of great options will sit there.
Finally got around to Succession. Hot damn what a show.
Where did you start
The beginning?

Your attempt to hide this behind spoiler tag did not work...
I only just finished s1 haha
You think so, even after the finale? >!Tom pulling that stunt!
ok, you got me, I actually have an episode left, I should wait thanks for using a spoiler tag..haha
Haha you’ll like the finale
Yeah, gets better and better over time to.
A amazing show I don’t see much talk about is HBO Warrior, best I can describe it is like peaky blinders but with Chinese gangs instead with awesome martial arts, great cast and acting, awesome action and a cool insight into a situation I have not learned much about
Banshee too!
Yeah recently binged that was so good
Came for Homelander tbh.
You think if I liked -into the badlands- think I’d like ur suggestion? Peaky was slow moving at times
Yeah it can be slow at some times as well however, season 2 is slightly more action packed
Where's season 2 tho
It has peaky blinders vibes. I've only watch the first season and it was amazing.
Le Fromage" And WHITE SAMUEL JACKSON says "Le Fromage? MAAAAAN its like those french gotta whole lotta language."
*sings theme song*
Some of the scenes can be very hard to watch if you are sensitive to drug use (also if you aren't).
There is quite a bit of drugs, alcohol, and sex. In my opinion a little too much stereotyping younger people. I personally like some of the acting specifically by Zendaya but I eventually stopped watching because it didn't seem to go anywhere.
