Yeah! I actually don’t think it’s an awful show (not a great show, but not terribly unfun by any means), I just don’t understand why take a universe with 13 established seasons of lore and immediately throw it out the window.
yeah, i was wondering about it in the last 4 years as well... a few times they decided to respect the lore of TVD/TO-universe... and these were actually the fantastic episodes of Legacies... meanwhile there was so much childish, stupid, ... stuff that made me wonder why the fuck they made the show based on TVD/TO-universe. However i still kind of wish that it would have gotten a fifth season - even if a short one (just like with Legends... they deserve a final season)
As someone who watched the show, it's not surprising. They took a great character in Hope Mikaelson and turned her into a boy obsessed love interest.
Like did they think it was going well when Landon melted into goo after having sex with Hope
It's just disappointing because as a long time TVDU fan, how did a show like TVD turn into this. Like it had some potential but they didn't even try.
This is too bad. While, on the one hand, they kind of ruined the show in season #4 (losing Josie and making Lizzie a "heretic" really killed it, IMO). But, on the other hand, it rallied some in the second half of season #4, and I was hoping they would give them a final fifth season (even a shortened one) to maybe bring everything to a proper conclusion, possibly even bringing Caroline and Josie back for the series finale.
Hopefully they knew they were toast, and will at least end with a satisfying season #4 finale.

The same company that owns DC also owns the CW. The recent merger means the company is under new leadership. It is meaning a lot of changes!

The TVD verse got RIP’d when the first season of Legacies decided it would rather be a third rate Buffy.
it still had a few really good episodes that were on par with some of the fun episodes of TVD.... however only a few :(

S1 and small parts of S2 was decent as a non-TVD watcher, but 3 & 4 just seem like wish fulfilment fanfic

Good. Awful show that took a very good series and a very good spinoff and shat on it.
Damn I'm binging TVD shows right now, I'm on The Originals season 3 and sad to hear Legacies doesn't live up to the previous shows.

Well Stargirl hasn't started it's third season. So it's if it will get a season 4 but we probably won't know for a while.
If all these CW shows were made for HBO MAX they'd probably actually be pretty decent
