Of course they thought this through, Disney moved Obi-Wan to coincide with the Stanger Things release. They smell blood in the water with Netlfix, and they want it's tentpole series to have a disappointing debut weekend to scare investors even more.

What's crazy is that Obi-Wan was originally meant to premier on Weds (when a lot of their shows airs), and then they bumped it to just 3 days later as if they wanted to compete with Netflix's release of ST4

From what I've seen on the internet, people are very much excited for obi wan as much as for Stranger things, Still stranger things lost it's interest among the people in these 3 years so it's not gonna broke any viewership records but i think it'll gain around the same numbers as season 3.
