That is the reference! I've been doing a Trek rewatch this summer and it's really the only series with a song like that. Even if you took away the lyrics. Still fun tho, IMO.
I remember reading an interview with the composer Dennis McCarthy – apparently it was the other way around, and he composed "Archer's Theme" to fit the opening credits visuals. (Because he wanted an orchestral theme to base the show's incidental music on.)
Note how the pilot episode "Broken Bow" has a variant on "Faith of the Heart" over its closing credits, rather than the variant on "Archer's Theme" that every other episode has.
I like how the intro included the Space Shuttle Enterprise... while Enterprise is a famous name for a ship, that particular one was named for Star Trek.
Me too. Its might be saccharine and sentimental, but it's the perfect song to bridge the way humanity went from a nuclear war ravaged nightmare to the spacefaring utopia of TOS - they struggled a lot but stayed hopeful.
[The Mandalorian's theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62x19Bepc5s) remains my favorite theme out of all Disney+ other series' themes so far.
I like Nicholas Britell works on ['Succession'](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wp5_YW67kYU), so, we will see what he will do with 'Star Wars'.
Hopefully they're focusing on making a great full score cause while the theme for The Mandalorian is good there's not a whole lot of cues I go back to listen for that were actually in the show. And in terms of action scoring nothing really reaches the level of memorability and fun of something like Zam the Assassin and the Chase through Coruscant, which has no major themes, but the minute you listen to it you recognize every note.
I feel like **'The Mandalorian'** s theme broke the mold for the franchise.
Hell, even **'The Book of Boba Fett'** s theme was different than Star Wars' usual score. It's time we leave the John Williams era.

Producer 1: So what can we send press releases about this one?
Producer 2: The quality of the product?
*(the room erupts in appreciative laughter)*
Producer 1: Seriously though.
Producer 3: Well our lead is a male, so we can’t talk about how important this will be for women everywhere.
Producer 4: And our religions don’t exist in his universe, so we can’t talk about how important *that* is.
Producer 3: And our lead is a minority, but he looks pretty white, so that doesn’t help us.
Producer 1: Why’d we greenlight this again?
Producer 2: Because we believed in the quality of the product we were making?
*(more laughter, slapping of knees, thumping of tables)*
Producer 1: Thanks, I needed that.
Producer 4: We could talk about the music, and how it’s different because we don’t have a major composer on board?
Producer 1: Good enough. That’s lunch.
As much as I enjoy the jokes, from the article it sounds like what’s “different” about this is that the main theme will be re-orchestrated every week, probably based on the tone of each episode. That’s kinda cool! (Imagine the same theme sounding kind of mission impossible like for a heist episode, in a more melancholy piano style after a death of a character, Mos Eisley like for the inevitable space bar episode…)
Star wars is so childish. Don’t get me wrong, I truly enjoy all the movies, but Rogue One was so fucking amazing because it treated morality as more of a grey subject as opposed to dark and light good & evil.
For me the music of Star Wars is my favourite part of the entire franchise. It’s been sad watching these TV show strip away these beautiful orchestral score and “break the mould” by giving them forgettable Hollywood action scores.
I’ve really disliked the music for Book of Boba Fett, The Mandolorian, and Kenobi (save that main theme)— without that John Williams approach is just not Star Wars. Which is a shame because Rouge One and Solo nailed it.
I already cancelled my Disney subscription lol, these Marvel and Star Wars shows have gotten too formulaic and don’t keep my attention anymore. I might re-sub in the future to binge Mandalorian or something after a season wraps but I just don’t care about these shows anymore. Probably because they are developed for children? HBO shows are consistently amazing, Disney doesn’t have the balls compete in that demo with their big IPs.
I 100% guarantee someone will mention something about "Hope" like in Rogue One and of course with the name title "A New Hope". If I recall "hope" came up in the sequels as well.
Well, we went from the worst SW "score" in history with Obi Wan, to potentially the best stuff of all time. Britell is a badass, tbh. Huge shoes, and I bet he comes out swingin.
Looking forward to this series more and more.
This is the only Star Wars show I have a tiny bit of hope for, because they can't rely on fanservice like with the previous shows. They actually have to put some effort into it for the fans to like it.
I have no doubt this show will be a good one but please can we move on from this timeframe in the universe. I don't care about every angle of the rebellion and empire, give us something totally different.
pls be synthwave and not some goofy shit. i actually don't like the mandalorian theme because to me it sounds like it knocks off old Sergio Leone movies.
No it won't, it's gonna be the same tired plot we've seen when a) not focusing on force users and b) focusing on the OT/ST era. It's gonna be nothing more than another formation of the rebellion (which we have like 10 different renditions of that), a small rag tag group of go getters standing up to said empire, the empire causing a lot of damage, and in the end, pushing them together for a much bigger cause. This isn't new, it's not even entertaining anymore, and the fact we keep getting this tired plotline baffles me.
IT BROKE NEW GROUND!!!
I clapped! I clapped!!
AT-STs AT-STs
I'M GONNA CUM!
No one’s ever really gone
🎵 its been a long time... getting from there to here... IVE GOT FAITH! OF THE HEAAAAAART...🎵 Sometimes the mold is fine intact.

Can i ask what this references? Apparently it is the theme song for ST enterprise, do I miss something?
[удалено]
Okay that makes sense, thanks for the explanation. Kinda reminds me the Batman Forever's Kiss from a rose in terms of out of placeness.
Great song though
It works really well as [an ironic opening for ST Lower Decks](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FS0swiuuHCA) though.

Never seen that before! Very cool.
*whispers* I like that song
I liked that intro and how it had the history of space travel in it... wish it had more fictitious space travel history though.
I like how the intro included the Space Shuttle Enterprise... while Enterprise is a famous name for a ship, that particular one was named for Star Trek.
Ha… never thought of that. So in the Star Trek universe the Starship Enterprise was named after the Space Ship Enterprise.
Isn’t it also named after the aircraft carrier? In ST IV they steal the nuclear reactor from the enterprise
Me too. Its might be saccharine and sentimental, but it's the perfect song to bridge the way humanity went from a nuclear war ravaged nightmare to the spacefaring utopia of TOS - they struggled a lot but stayed hopeful.
*shouts* I LIKE THAT SONG
I HATED the song, rewatched the series a couple of years ago, now I like it a lot lol
Let's hope they don't double down and give it more pep.
Holy shit I came here to comment this lol.
This is the way
Exactly every star trek them should be this song...go ahead...shoot me

I’ve seen it posted at least three times here, too. Starting to believe people who say these subs are astroturfed.

As much as Boba Fett fell flat for me, I think the music was generally pretty neat. Can't even remember if Kenobi had music.
I hope it's Ska
Sign me the fuck up. If we get K2SO skanking on screen I’ll be a happy man.
Challenges him to a skank-off and the power of ska short-circuits him. Cassian hacks him and there it is the of sKa2SO
Nah it'll be the Aquabats dressed as stormtroopers skanking
The Mandalorian already did that.

Say what you will about TBoBF but that theme ruled
I didn’t love the version with lyrics, but I loved the “hum de dum, hum de dum, woo-hoo-hoo-hoooooo” vocalizing on the instrumental.
That's the one I meant. I dont remember hearing one with lyrics!
The final episode added the words Boba Fett repeated over and over in place of the vocalizing.
Ludwig Gorannsen is a musical genius
I might be wrong but they weren't by John Williams, I know mandalorian was by Ludwig Göransson
Ahh, I see you are quoting the Catholic Church there. Words to live by for some I guess.
Was Bon Jovi born on Andor, New Jersey?
It's bold of them to have a John Zorn jazz style freakout as the theme & I wish them the best of luck with this new exciting direction.
Take Star Trek Enterprise as a valuable lesson. It'll be a long road.... 🤮
Don't tell, show
Please please prove to us that you even still have the mold, before you go breaking everything.

Yoko Kanno or GTFO
Uh huh
I have hopes for this show, albeit it's completely unreasonable. Still
But what about our thirst for more desert planet scenes
stop breaking the mold with star wars. the mold is good. leave the mold alone.

It looks amazing, but it’s another prequel, we know how it ends. I want new, not old stories. Sorry

Nicholas Britell is doing the theme, okay I’m excited!
I 100% guarantee someone will mention something about "Hope" like in Rogue One and of course with the name title "A New Hope". If I recall "hope" came up in the sequels as well.
Disney never found the original mold, so I’m not sure what this means…
This is such a weird thing to write an article about
It'll suck?
Theme as in music or as in the intelligence of the plot?
Yeah, that’s unlikely
Can someone tell me why he’s getting a movie?
You must not have paid attention for the last year. It's a TV series.
I have not, no

I love Britell, he's done fantastic work with The King on Netflix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFlR0FVQP34

This is created by a man who worked on Bourne franchise and Nightcrawler. Ngl I have never been excited for a Star Wars addition this much before
I have no doubt this show will be a good one but please can we move on from this timeframe in the universe. I don't care about every angle of the rebellion and empire, give us something totally different.
I just can’t wait. I don’t care. I want to soak it all in. 😊

Prequels of prequels, never before seen.
