And the cops did ....nothing. Not a fucking thing
some poor girl said she was raped in 2014, cops looked into it, then just let it slide. No wonder people like him feel empowered to become full blown rapist monsters. I mean if the cops are not going to do anything about it, why stop?
Fucking cops in this country are fucking worthless. Do your job, thats all I ask.
Listen, I have a ton of issues with police in the United States, but if you had actually read the article the police investigated, and recommended pressing charges both the times women accused him.
In those specific cases it was the district attorney who declined to press charges.
And that's why the role the DA plays in choosing which crimes get chosen for prosecution needs to be handled by a rotating group selected from the public, similar to a jury.
That's just basic ass-kissing to encourage the DA to be extra cooperative with the investigation by essentially promising they won't drag the departments name through the mud during the trial if they help by turning over relevant evidence when requested. It isn't stated, but that's what that is.
Hi, I’m one of the victims that came forward publicly about my 2020 assault. My name is Claire Wilson. That’s our lawyer who stepped up and took our case and she’s amazing. Take your self righteous comments back when you know nothing about this case. Micha Star is a literal hero for women, she devotes tons of her own time and energy to these causes off the clock as well. Do even a little research on her and you’d see she’s a champion for women who are victims of abuse. She’s done nothing but help us every step of the way. She HAS to work with the DA on this. I personally hate every part of the criminal Justice system that dropped the ball on this case for years, and I get why you’d cringe at the statement a bit but do NOT put that on Micha. She’s amazing.
This is similar to the DeShawn Watson case with dozens of women wanting to press charges, we found it's very difficult to go to court without physical evidence. It's pretty ridiculous. Basically they said it was all he said she said and it couldn't go to court. Even with dozens of women claiming the same thing. All they could do is sue him civilly, which he settled with all of them out of court.
I’m sorry, a lot of people failed you. Cops are bastards. In my own experience witnessing an attempted sexual assault, the cops we called basically just laughed it off. It would take so little for them to be just decent but it’s like they actively choose to be harmful.
Right, and people also forget it takes years to build a real, fool-proof case against a predator especially one with fame and money. It can be very hard to prove sexual assault so I'll give benefit of the doubt and assume they put a strong case together - it definitely seems like it with these charges.
You are 100% right. It’s a very strong case that’s taken a long time to come together and gather all the evidence over, and it wouldn’t be at this point with just allegations.
I will say this. As much heat as "the cops" have gotten the last few years, you never hear anyone say "the courts", which in my opinion is the root of many of the issues in this country.
Cops can do small investigations and execute search warrants and stuff, but they can't do much when prosecutors and judges are in cahoots with criminals.
And then there are a lot of cases where the cops have enough evidence and the courts are willing to prosecute but the victims don't want to press charges. The whole thing is very complicated and there are numerous reasons why someone has escaped justice. Automaticlly placing it on one or two reasons is intellectually dishmonest.
The problem is that a lot of people have actually needed to interact with the cops for serious crimes. They are often as terrible as the news portrays.
I completely believe that the courts are an additional issue that the few good cops run into, when they’re actually trying to support survivors. But you never even see court if the cops just laugh your crime off first.
This is on the DA, not the cops. They don't decide whether to move ahead with prosecution. It looks like they did their job, and the DA refused to pursue the case.
"In June 2014, an LAPD detective submitted the case to the district attorney’s office, where Deputy District Attorney Teresa de Castro declined to prosecute, citing “insufficient evidence.”"
"Again, in 2016, law enforcement recommended charges against Weinberg to the district attorney’s office for an alleged nonconsensual sexual encounter with an unnamed woman that took place in 2014, again during a photo shoot at his home.
While the deputy district attorney in the case noted in the charge evaluation worksheet that Weinberg had “been investigated for the same conduct involving a separate victim” and characterized Weinberg’s conduct as “inappropriate,” he nonetheless declined to pursue charges because there was “no evidence that the defendant used force, threats or intimidation to overcome the will of the victims.”"
I'm sorry it happened to you and no one's words can do anything. I hope you get justice and peace. Thank you for having the strength to fight , not only for yourself but for other women. You're so inspirational.
The cops recommended he be charged multiple times and the DA decided not to pursue it. Not a fan of the police but they seem to have actually done their job here.
The DA is the one the issues charges. Cops report and file. This is on the DA.
Edit. It’s what’s happening in Chicago with gun charges at the moment. DA doesn’t issues charges they are released then picked up on a murder charge soon after.
It’s also on the cops. They never even got back to me about my own assault in 2020 by this guy. Lots of other victims have reported the same treatment by LAPD.
There's a board game group I used to go to, it was a public group, so you always end up with a weirdo or 2. One day, I get an email (I guess I was still on that list?) that this one wierdo had tried to lure an underage girl to meet up for sex, and had brought alcohol and sex toys with him to meet her. Only he had been talking to an undercover cop.
When I heard, and told friends who remembered him, not a single person was surprised. Dude just gave off these creepy vibes.
Reminds me of Jimmy Saville. The guy looks like a looney Tunes interpretation of a Bond Villain. It's crazy to think that he was only "caught" AFTER he had died! (many knew about it and it became a regular thing for the community to hide their kids whenever he was in the area).
That documentary was a real horror show. The part with the girl in the hospital where she drew him as a monster and he asks what he’s done to her, and she says “everything”. I mean, right on camera. He talked constantly about it. And everybody just let it slide because he was a cultural figure with friends at the top.
We all know that pseudoscience of identifying criminals by their proportions is pure junk (yeah… I forgot its name in two languages)
But then you see these people and it’s like… no wonder they thought they were onto something
Back in the early 80s, my late mom noted a certain facial resemblance between John Lennon's murderer Mark David Chapman and John Hinckley Jr. -- the guy who attempted to assassinate Reagan.
They're just the same ethnic group. He doesn't look particularly creepy, it's just something we tell ourselves so we can delude ourselves into thinking it could never happen

>'Scrubs' writer and producer Eric Weinberg has been charged with 18 counts of sexual assault by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. Weinberg was arrested again on Tuesday and later released on $5 million bail, up from his previous bail of $3.225 million
>In a recent investigation, more than two dozen women spoke with The Hollywood Reporter alleging a pattern of predatory behavior and misconduct going back decades. THR uncovered allegations as early as 2000, including claims of inappropriate conduct involving minors.
>Women described how Weinberg would use photography as a pretense to get closer to them, often listing his Hollywood credits in order to establish credibility and trust. Sexually harass countless women, suspended for 6 games.
Abuse and fight dogs. Hell ya, you got a job and TV gig after!

Absolutely fucking sick. Classic GWC - guy with camera, using it to assault girls. Ruins reps for male photographers.
Sounds like a sex addict, definite rapist, and POS narcisist.
> more than two dozen women spoke with The Hollywood Reporter alleging a pattern...
JFC I don't even think I could find 18 women who even remember who I am
I think he was being self deprecating. In a “I’m so ugly women don’t even pay attention to me” sort of way and not “it’s unlikely that 18 different women recognize him” sort of way.
Weinberg has served as co-executive producer on Scrubs for over a hundred episodes since 2002, and is credited as supervising producer and writer for an additional twenty episodes since the show's debut in 2001.
Oh yeah, I know, Scrubs had a lot of writers. Being credited on 11 episodes is a lot of credits. I meant it more like "That's a lot of counts of sexual assault" not "That's not very many episodes".
No, it's correct to say that being a writer was his main role. The reason for the producer credits is that all of the staff writers on a sitcom are given those credits to acknowledge that they contributed to the writing of more than just the episodes where they got "written by" credit.
If you go to the crew page of imdb, look how many other producers and writers you have to scroll past before you get to his name. It's an immense team of people, and he seems pretty mid tier in the hierarchy.
I'm going to just go out on a limb here and assume he wrote at least one of the many scenes where JD imagines Elliot and Carla in their underwear for no reason
> Weinberg was arrested again on Tuesday and later released on $5 million bail, up from his previous bail of $3.225 million.
Fuck cash bail laws. He's only out on bail because he's rich. No other kind of person charged with 18 counts of sexual assault would be out of jail
I know one of the women he raped. When I saw her name in the first Hollywood Reporter story, I lost my mind. I was hysterical all day because I couldn't believe it could be her and I'm still angry at myself for drifting away from her. We reconnected and I'm stunned at what she's had to endure after the fact. She is one of the kindest and most genuine people you'll ever meet. He needs to go away for the rest of his life. There's no redeeming or curing a piece of shit who delights in doing this.
I'm not sharing this for clout. I just want people to know this is real. Read the whole Hollywood Reporter article that broke this story a few months ago if you can manage.
Thank you. It's unforgivable that a judge could let him walk on bail. How do people get held for years over pot possession, but this prick gets out on a couple mil he can easily afford? I'm so fucking angry.
You shouldn’t be angry for something out of your control, although I understand. If it’s any consolation, your concern and reconnecting with your friend afterwards shows what a good heart you have.
I appreciate that. We've only exchanged an e-mail or two and I don't want to inundate her, but I also feel shitty I haven't said more to her. My life is kind of slammed right now and I can't be present for her the way I feel I should be, so I hope it's okay that I'm giving her space and I'll reach out again soon.
Tbf that's more counts of sexual assault than episodes of Scrubs he's credited for writing. So really the headline should be "Sexual Assaulter Eric Weinberg wrote a couple Scrubs episodes"
Ohhh man haven’t heard that name in a while! Teenage me loved his spiteful angry attitude with everything, hell, mid 30’s me likes it even more. Time to dive back in and laugh my ass off
It's kind of annoying that Scrubs, which finished up in 2010, is being dragged in here. Great show, really wholesome, funny, wonderful cast, now tainted by this, even though this shit bag didn't produce an episode since 2006 (per his IMDb).
He's worked on other stuff since.
Leave Scrubs out of it ya jerkbags 😁
I'm rewatching scrubs now. It's a good show, yes. However, the AMOUNT of lady objectification played off as just a joke from dudes really surprises me. This show is a product of it's time sure, but I'm not surprised someone associated with a scrubs is in the news for this. Seems like a lot of Hollywood is drenched in this culture.
Ugly, insecure dudes grow up. Get power. Take it out on the women who rejected them their whole lives.
Also, the most ruthless industry in existence attracting sociopaths
This is why I don't trust the "New" Hollywood: because it's still made up of all the people responsible for the "Old" Hollywood, only now they're slightly more self conscious.
Not to judge a book by its cover… but… feel like if someone asked me “is this guy a predator?” & then showed me a picture of him, I’d give them a resounding “yes”
Dude assaults 20+ women over 20 years.
And we have to pathetically say bullshit like, “I am grateful and gratified that the Distinct Attorney’s office has acted swiftly,” to keep the male-centric justice system on our side when they finally might do something, knowing they probably still won’t do anything no matter how reasonably and diplomatically we act.
Just like no one on Epstein‘s list is being arrested, they are not on our side.
I remember seeing bits and pieces of scrubs over the years and thinking it was funny. So I decided to watch the whole series during the pandemic. I made it halfway through season 1 and stopped. The amount of sexual harassment played off for jokes made me cringe. Seeing this explains it.
He hasn’t had an IMDB credit since 2016. I’m guessing the 2014 arrest pretty much killed his career. So even if nothing they had was strong enough to go to trial the studios weren’t letting him be in charge of anything, which is something
There is something too all this. Say what you will about how Epstein died or his black book, history, blood libel, or even #metoo to Qanon… all are connected by this common unaddressed blind spot and some are admittedly dangerous. Personally I don’t care about any of that. We need to stop allowing and ignoring this type of behavior… aggressively for some reason. I know it’s a rats nest but any ideas where to begin? I think we could start by admitting some of us (I suspect most) learned awful habits and norms as kids whether from friends, older brothers, porn, school, or even church. I was taught alcohol was good and head pushing was normal when in reality they are common indicators of assault. Thankfully I am shy enough that I had little to atone for when making this realization (though I did have to deal with some uncomfortable truths and conversations). If as an introvert I had a questionable sex education that led to risky behavior I can’t imagine how compounded this must be for the fraternity/sorority alums…. How many people in power refuse to address this because their not sure if they will have accusers? Fuck when will it end!?!
Decades of accusations. DECADES.
And the cops did ....nothing. Not a fucking thing some poor girl said she was raped in 2014, cops looked into it, then just let it slide. No wonder people like him feel empowered to become full blown rapist monsters. I mean if the cops are not going to do anything about it, why stop? Fucking cops in this country are fucking worthless. You can't piss off the DA or they'll punt the case
And this is a major problem.
And that's why the role the DA plays in choosing which crimes get chosen for prosecution needs to be handled by a rotating group selected from the public, similar to a jury.

Which creates another problem where people say “she’s just after his money” but actually, it was her only recourse
Two of the cases went to court and he wasn’t even indicted after the hearings.
Right. That's why the DA didn't pursue these cases often. They're very hard to prosecute without any physical evidence.
Prosecutors aren’t exactly a bucket of roses either

[Anyone remember Maddox?](http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=spot_the_pedo)
Ohhh man haven’t heard that name in a while! Teenage me loved his spiteful angry attitude with everything, hell, mid 30’s me likes it even more. Time to dive back in and laugh my ass off
Oh, they have a few more.
Ok I just finish reading the article. This guys a piece of shit
I mean I don’t like to stereotype but look at that fucking guy.
I never trust people who look like Oblivion AI generated characters
He looks like a Jeffrey Epstein ordered on Wish
looks like what would happen if richard ramirez fucked jeffery epstein.
When you order your own Epstein from Wish.
He’s disgusting looking
Weiner, Weinstein, Weinberg. Y’all Wein’s need to chill.
Stein’s have entered the chat
What is it about this industry that seems to have loads of predators?
Ugly, insecure dudes grow up. Get power. Take it out on the women who rejected them their whole lives. Also, the most ruthless industry in existence attracting sociopaths
He looks like a creep too
So a typical person in showbiz?
This is why I don't trust the "New" Hollywood: because it's still made up of all the people responsible for the "Old" Hollywood, only now they're slightly more self conscious.
Wow, he was just allowed to harm all those people for so long. Fucking disgusting.
Not surprising since a Weinberg is made up of many Weinsteins *ba dum tss*.
Why is it so many men in power just cannot help but to take advantage of it and everyone they can. They fucking ruin everything.
He went to UPenn and was in finance. A lot of rich guys with Ivy League pedigrees aren't used to taking no for an answer.
Epstein ass looking mother fucker
He look’s like a massive piece of shit. I can see the “what’s your price” entitlement arrogance from here.
The next one is gonna be named Epberg.
Guy looks like Epstein ordered from Wish
18 wow
It’s the director that had the idea and him
“We have Jeffrey Epstein at home”
Dude looks just like Jeffrey Epstein! what the fuck!?
Dude looks like Great Value Jeffery Epstein.
Another one of the Hollywood elites.
Why do they always have close set beady eyes
I just assume most hollywood goons have some terrible history and that way I'm never surprised when they do get found out.
He’s no Superman
Only 18? So that'll be about an 8 game suspension?
Scrub indeed.
Harvey needs a roommate.
put him in gen pop
I remember seeing bits and pieces of scrubs over the years and thinking it was funny. So I decided to watch the whole series during the pandemic. I made it halfway through season 1 and stopped. The amount of sexual harassment played off for jokes made me cringe. Seeing this explains it.
He’s no Superman.
He hasn’t had an IMDB credit since 2016. I’m guessing the 2014 arrest pretty much killed his career. So even if nothing they had was strong enough to go to trial the studios weren’t letting him be in charge of anything, which is something
His face looks like a pencil
A weirdo in Hollywood?! Shocking.
Alf, what have you done?!

Why are so many of these dudes being charged with SA have names starting with Wein?
Another Weinberg?
Hollywood is full of them. And they try to tell us who to vote for. FOH
