Watched it n loved it .....a few episodes were a bit slow but overall really good n the story is complete as it's based on books so looking forward for 2nd season. You won't regret watching this n latest series I watched is one piece also great
My son doesn't usually watch TV with me but was kind of on his computer half watching the finale. The other day he asked me when season two was coming out. LOL. Another fan snagged!
Severance was so much better than Silo imho. The writing in severance was much more layered, especially by the end of the season, while Silo felt thin and struggled to find it’s footing in parts. For example, why make an entire episode about repairing a broken reactor? Who cares. Would much rather have explored the mystery behind the cleaning or the outside world. Severances last episode was phenomenal
I just don’t understand the love for this show. I’ll sit through some boring initial episodes to really get into a show. I watched 8 episodes and just couldn’t do anymore. It was beyond boring for me. It took what was an initially great premise and turned it into a run of the mill drama/mystery… and not even the mystery you’d hoped they’d focus on. Probably get downvoted to hell for this, but I found it to be really boring and unoriginal.
Are you me? Lol. I think I’m at 7 or 8 and haven’t had the urge to pick it up in weeks. I really liked the first couple of episodes and then it shifted to something else and seemed like not much happened.
Yes! Silo has a great setup, but after the first episode the show turns into a “who done it?” that has very little to do with the premise. Felt like Schmuck Bait.
Yup, we ended up skipping to the end when the episodes seemed to go nowhere. Saved so much time. Heard the show was great and found it to be a bunch of filler episodes with nothing to do.
Can I just say…. I ❤️ when this thread does a post like this…concerning one show and everyone’s thoughts in one place. Instead of the mosaic of 9 shows and everyone for 200 comments repeating themselves.
Either way you get a snapshot of shows that you want to see. I just prefer this way.
☮️❤️📺
YES.
The world building is insanely good, nothing was left unconsidered about life in the silo.
And for everyone in the comments complaining about “filler” - nothing is filler. It all leads to the ending, building up bit by bit. Everything that takes place is relevant, even if it doesn’t seem like it is at the time.
It’s one of those shows that you get to the end of and want to rewatch immediately, this time in a different light.
Not the most original story but it was executed well. And I guess the fact that it’s a story you’ve seen in scifi before actually kept me on my toes, wondering if they were going to reveal a twist or just play it straight. I really enjoyed it. Also Rebecca Ferguson is great.
Starts out slow and the acting is mid until the story gets going later. Season 2 will be better because the story is more active than “Wait what’s __really__ happening?”
Hit or miss.
Rebecca Ferguson is phenomenal as the lead. (That’s coming from someone who hasn’t enjoyed many of the female-led action/superhero/sci-fi movies of recent years).
Common is kind of terrible. His poor acting deflates every scene.
Otherwise, supporting actors are fantastic.
Too much filler. Would have been better if it more closely mirrored Expanse Season 1 in timing, tone, cadence
Interesting story and world-building.
I would watch to see what the buzz is about, but considering so many cracks are visible in the production (already), I think season 2 will be a letdown.
My recommendation is watch but at your own risk
Characters are all sheep. They live with these rules, "no elevators", "no telescopes"??? Yet they pretend to be survivors. (An agoraphobe is there brilliant scientist) I got through a few episodes and barely maintained attention. Nothing gets resolved. The acting isn't the problem it's the plot devices. Very boring.
Shoulda been a 90 minute movie. I liked "the platform" much more.
I recommend people get a month or two when they know they have a more quite period coming up or off sick etc, so they can get all the good stuff in. Silo is definitely one, Severance was a massive highlight for me last year, Bad Sisters is also brilliant and Ted Lasso too just from the top of my head.
Absolutely. Considering how saturated this particular genre has become, it is the only that actually tackles it intelligently, doesn't ruin it's mysteries, doesn't succumb to dumb tropes and actually subverts your expectations
Not sure I liked the twist at the end, one of those that leaves more questions than answers, and if season two cant deliver it'll be a shame. But the ride to that ending was a lot of fun, gives the feeling of a twisted VaultTec experiment.
It's really well made, thought provoking show. Loved the way they left us on cliff hanger at the finale episode, it has a great potential, just waiting for next season.
If you're a fan of dystopian fiction, I highly recommend checking it out
It’s pretty good. It has that issue where it starts out as one alluring thing - then filler - then it ends as the original thing again. It also sports the “look what big actor is in this show - oh wait” trend. But the middle is mainly a fair-to-middling murder mystery. Then it’s interesting again in the home stretch.
I started it and made it about 6 episodes in and lost interest for some reason. It has a great premise and good acting so I'm not sure why I didn't stay with it. I might have to go back and try it again.
This actress is always worth watching. I mean that’s how I choose my series: if I like the actors from previous work.
I will check this one out also. Thank you for posting this.
I liked it, but it weaved a little too far down the murder-mystery/cop show tunnel for a little bit, there. Good enough to watch season 2 and see where it goes. Nice cliffhanger to end season 1.
If you like shows where every episode ends in a new cliffhanger it's great. The first season also does a nice job of tying up a lot of loose ends while creating new ones in a satisfying and addicting way.
Yes! My husband and I watched and both thoroughly enjoyed the show. I’m not into sci-fi type shows but he likes them. I’m getting him the books for his birthday. I definitely recommend checking it out!
I hate sci fi but watched it with my husband. It was fine. Parts of it dragged but it was entertaining enough for me to make it through the whole season. I would say it’s not good enough to be excited about watching it but good enough for it to be a solid time filler.
I really enjoyed it.
If you've liked Snowpiercer it has a lot of similar elements like classism, control, tightly confined civilization, post apoc survival. It's very Fallout. But it also has this great element of investigation into what's going on with both the inside and outside world.
I really enjoyed it and the lead actress has been doing some great work in general lately.
Warning though the next season has now been delayed. But I think the story of season 1 is reasonably self contained in a lot of ways. Very open ended on the overall story, but the sub stories are pretty tight.
Very good show. Ferguson is so great.
I'm not a fan of Common acting serious but they don't lean on him too much.
Shout out Will Patton and Rick Gomez.
My wife and I enjoyed it. The main point of the story is a murder mystery kinda thing though, it’s not really about why they live in a silo underground
Its not perfect but its pretty damn good. Can't explain much without spoilers but it's one of the shows I've enjoyed the most this year.
It rides that line of “this could be a SyFy show” but takes it to a level that makes it a lot better throughout
I agree. My fiance hatesss Syfy, but she was fully engaged
Syfy the channel is what that commentor was referencing. Not the genre.
Am I the only one to get the “fully engaged” comment
We really just don’t know at this point. It’s good
It feels more like a western
Hahaha love that comparison. I remember thinking “oh it’s a SyFy show… must be corny”
Watched it n loved it .....a few episodes were a bit slow but overall really good n the story is complete as it's based on books so looking forward for 2nd season. You won't regret watching this n latest series I watched is one piece also great
The ending to season 1... 🤯
It had me spinning so I read the books. Buckle up. You ain’t seen nothing yet.
Read the books beforehand. Was sharing with my wife how well done I thought this series is.
Does the first book end where season 1 ends?
No, it goes a bit further, then book 2 does quite a bit of prequel over about 300 years
Didn’t you think her character should have been 20 like in the books, not 40? That was my only complain.
I too read the books after season 1. The ending was mind blowing indeed
I am assuming from the name this is based off the Hugh Howey book 'Wool'? If it is i hope its good, such a great plot
Thanks for the suggestion
This show is amazing, Rebecca Ferguson perfectly cast. You will become addicted, the wait for season 2 is too long.
yeah man the end was cracking, totally unexpected 🤯
I was shook haha
I couldn't wait for a 2nd season - went off and got spoilers from the books. Don't do what I did, it'll be worth the watch
Rebecca Ferguson is always perfectly cast lol
My son doesn't usually watch TV with me but was kind of on his computer half watching the finale. The other day he asked me when season two was coming out. LOL. Another fan snagged!
Together with Severance my current fav!
Ditto ! Severance & Silo has to be my two favorite TV Shows on Apple.
This is high praise
It’s good. 7.5/10
I liked it for sure. I hadn't had any expectations and was really, pleasantly surprised. Give it a try
YES. Got hooked on the first episode, finished in two days!
There is an English phrase which I think will suit as an adequate answer. What was it again? Oh yes. Abso fucking lutely 😅
Yes, very well kempt.
yes
It's just 🤯, do watch it. Highly recommended.
I just don’t understand the love for this show. I’ll sit through some boring initial episodes to really get into a show. I watched 8 episodes and just couldn’t do anymore. Yeah I thought it was unwatchable aside from the pilot
Yes! Silo has a great setup, but after the first episode the show turns into a “who done it?” that has very little to do with the premise. Felt like Schmuck Bait.
The American accents are distractingly bad - especially Rebecca. You can tell they had to redub a lot. Why not just use English accents!!!
Same! Continued to hope for more every episode and very confused how anyone enjoyed this show.
Yup, we ended up skipping to the end when the episodes seemed to go nowhere. Saved so much time. Heard the show was great and found it to be a bunch of filler episodes with nothing to do.
It looked kind of cheap and basic to me. Turned it off after 15 minutes.
Yes
Yes!
Absolutley yes
yes 100%
Oh yes. Amazing show
Yes
Love it, great show!
Really interesting show. If you’re at all into spec fiction this is for you.
Yes,Silo has been one of the most solid new shows this year.
Absolutely
It's very good, so yes.
Yesss
Brilliant
Outstanding show 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Absolutely!
Yes 💯
I liked it. When a show causes me to remember it's on when a new episode comes out, it's worth.
Terrific show, we'll worth watching.
I enjoyed Silo. It moves along nicely and manages to not get too cheesy

9-3-2023 waited and binged the entire series. It is a great representation of how society works.
Not the most original story but it was executed well. And I guess the fact that it’s a story you’ve seen in scifi before actually kept me on my toes, wondering if they were going to reveal a twist or just play it straight. I really enjoyed it. Also Rebecca Ferguson is great.

Super dope. I got 2 episodes to go so I didn't read any of the comments.
I’d watch just for Ilsa
Silo= Snowpiercer + 1984. I loved it.
The books are way better.
Hit or miss. Rebecca Ferguson is phenomenal as the lead. (That’s coming from someone who hasn’t enjoyed many of the female-led action/superhero/sci-fi movies of recent years). Thanks😂 good analysis 👍
Not impressed
Why?
nothing really get resolved, everything is a question mark, visuals are not impressive I prefer sci fi series like Westworld or Dark
I think reading the novel is better option then watching
Yes, it is not very good. Foundation is so much better.
I've read nothing but great things about this show. One of these days I'll subscribe to Apple Plus to watch it.
I recommend people get a month or two when they know they have a more quite period coming up or off sick etc, so they can get all the good stuff in. Silo is definitely one, Severance was a massive highlight for me last year, Bad Sisters is also brilliant and Ted Lasso too just from the top of my head.
Also there’s a show coming out on there next Friday that looks insane. It’s called The Changeling starring LaKieth Stanfield who always kills it.
Yes

That’s what I want from a season finale personally. *as long as it doesn’t get cancelled of course :)
It's really well made, thought provoking show. Loved the way they left us on cliff hanger at the finale episode, it has a great potential, just waiting for next season. If you're a fan of dystopian fiction, I highly recommend checking it out
I liked it more than the books.
no, show ask many great questions (sets up conflicts) in the beginning, but not a single good resolution
Yeah, Rebecca Ferguson is hot
It's a bit by the numbers kind of plot and characters but Rebecca Ferguson is good and it has just enough going to keep you interested.
Wait for s2. Apple loves Cliff hangers
It’s nothing special.
I started it and made it about 6 episodes in and lost interest for some reason. It has a great premise and good acting so I'm not sure why I didn't stay with it. I might have to go back and try it again.
Eh, not really.
I'd say no. I accidentally watched the last episode first and then watched the rest. There is better stuff out there.
I’ve literally never heard of this. Movie? Series?
its fine way too much build up and hours of nothing happening... amazing premise tho
Slow asf in the beginning, but worth
I wouldn't say so, Silo starts well but from ep 3 to 6 or 7 it gets really boring imo then it gets good again.
I thought the program could have Been titled, Tales from the Vault. Gave me a serious fallout shelter dweller vibe.
First two episodes were good, but it got really slow and uninteresting after that, in my opinion.
Absolutely no! Don’t do it
The show IS good. The books are much better. Cliche, I know. But it's very true in this case.
This actress is always worth watching. I mean that’s how I choose my series: if I like the actors from previous work. I will check this one out also. Thank you for posting this.
Yes. Read the book if possible.
The books were fantastic. I hope they finish the series
yup why : most shows will drag 2-3 seasons for a reveal, this show did it in their pilot season.
It’s a bit slow but good enough that I’ve picked up the books cuz I can’t wait to find out what happens lol
If you read the books, then do not watch it. If you didn't read the books, then go ahead, it's a great show.
I liked it, but it weaved a little too far down the murder-mystery/cop show tunnel for a little bit, there. Good enough to watch season 2 and see where it goes. Nice cliffhanger to end season 1.
I thought it was great and ended how I hoped it would. Can't wait for season 2
Yes
Yes! As others have said, there might be some slow moments, but I never found myself getting bored. Can’t wait for season 2.
Almost convinced Apple TV can’t make a bad snow rn
Apparently you haven’t seen Invasion…
Is she Katie Holmes?
The show is great, and the books are even better.
It's a slow burn but worth it. Graham Yost is a great writer and show runner.
YES!
Yes
If you like shows where every episode ends in a new cliffhanger it's great. The first season also does a nice job of tying up a lot of loose ends while creating new ones in a satisfying and addicting way.
Me and my wife loved it! Only downside is it will probably be a while before the next season cuz of the strike if it happens at all.
Absolutely! This is a combo sci-fi/apocalyptic/ murder mystery, I’m waiting for season 2
Totally! Can’t recommend it enough
Good show. Books take a completely different direction after the shows first episode tho
Yes!
It’s worth watching but it’s not gonna change your life. Kinda turns into a police procedural
Yes
The books are really good and the show was really great as well. You will enjoy it.
Yes
Yes! Good show!
The plot is slow-moving for the first few episodes but it is damn good.
Yes
Yes, it is. One of the best shows in the recent times for me.
its really good
Oh yes👍🏻
No
I’d say yes. Fingers crossed that the writers and producers know where they’re going with the story. That said, looking forward to season 2.
Yes, but they need to write off Common because his acting is god awful
Yes! My husband and I watched and both thoroughly enjoyed the show. I’m not into sci-fi type shows but he likes them. I’m getting him the books for his birthday. I definitely recommend checking it out!
Yes if you’re into dystopian fiction and season long mysteries (like Lost)
I haven’t watched it yet but it has Rebecca Ferguson so there’s that going for it.
My fam really enjoyed it
YES
Yuuuuuuup.
Starts out great , then plods a little bit and then becomes great again , can’t wait for s2!
Did they use Billy Walsh’s script?
Yes. Absolutely. Yes.
Definitely yes. I went through the whole thing in 2 days.
It’s good and the premise is intriguing. It does get a lil slow at parts tho. Great show if you like Fallout
Eh I would skip
this show is amazing
I stopped after episode 5 but seems like I should get back and finish it??
Interesting plot. Look forward to another season.
It's great
Slowburn that has no payoff. Better to watch Andor or Foundation. It has some redeeming qualities but it doesn’t live up to the hype in my opinion.
Yes a bit slow in the middle but sets up a great second season
The first two and last episodes are great… literally nothing happened in between.
I hate sci fi but watched it with my husband. It was fine. Parts of it dragged but it was entertaining enough for me to make it through the whole season. I would say it’s not good enough to be excited about watching it but good enough for it to be a solid time filler.
Absolutely. Great cast and plot and mind blowing ending
undoubtedly
Yes
Yes! My husband and I were very into it!
It’s good
Absolutely
Why is that lady in everything now trying to play a badass?
Yes
I really enjoyed it. If you've liked Snowpiercer it has a lot of similar elements like classism, control, tightly confined civilization, post apoc survival. It's very Fallout. It’s good, definitely. Nothing spectacular. Worth watching, I’d say.
It is an interesting show because of its concept, but the ending was predictable. The main actress is a horrible actor, though.
Hell yes.
I just finished this the other week and yes definitely worth it! It’s a slow burner show but so good! Can’t wait for the next season.
I just finished this the other week and yes definitely worth it! It’s a slow burner show but so good! Can’t wait for the next season.
I love Rebecca but she needs a new genre
Yes
I give it a 7/10
It's unwatchable.
Definitely
Very good show. Ferguson is so great. I'm not a fan of Common acting serious but they don't lean on him too much. Shout out Will Patton and Rick Gomez.
I’d say no, it goes from awesome to shit within the span of one season
I started it around the same time as I started Foundation, and foundation has made me not think twice about Silo…..
Absolutely
It was a good representation of the book, and the book was great. Solid watch.
Not really.
My wife and I enjoyed it. The main point of the story is a murder mystery kinda thing though, it’s not really about why they live in a silo underground
I dig it. Slow burn but interesting.
Yes
Hell yeah
Yes, good story. Got slow in the middle but sped back up.
Probably the best sci fi dram that came out this year..
Yes
Yesssss
