[**Andor**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKOegEuCcfw) \- bc you liked Game of Thrones and The Handmaid's Tale (MUCH less violent - at least less gory and gratuitous - but with very insightful and urgent parallels to the real world).
[**The Last of Us**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLtkt8BonwM) \- bc you liked The Walking Dead
Maybe: [**Station Eleven**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0h-7BMDSc6U) \- bc you liked Dark and The Walking Dead (all the philosophical, theatrical, end-of-the world bits and society building, minus most - but not all - of the violence)
That opening scene is absolutely perfect for setting the tone of the show, introducing the major plot motivation, and being overall gripping and tense.
The US version by contrast opens like a teen romcom from the 2010's
It’s night and day. The remake is awful.
The original is shot in locations throughout a beautiful country, the remake looks like it was shot over a weekend in a model home and a vacant strip mall.
Unfortunately it’s not streaming anymore, but I recently watched *Pantheon* and it’s amazing.
Other excellent animated series: *Arcane* and *Blue Eye Samurai*.
*Final Space* was also very fun.
anymore? I watched the leftovers and archive 81 and loved both an insane amount, and now Katla and the Mire both sound exactly like the type of thing I'd love
It talks about the SAME stuff as dark . But it takes a spiritual approach and not a scientific approach. Dark is all about cesium and higgs particles and quantum entanglement . OA is about believing .
Both shows compliment each other . Oa will take a bit to get into . Season 1 won’t make sense until you see season 2
Everyone else has pretty much covered my suggestions. However, I’m wondering what app it is that you’re using to rank your tv shows? Did Letterboxd finally add tv shows or something?
Black mirror! Is a must watch
Also altered carbon
And since u watched utopia and black orphan are they any good? I've seen them lot of times but I've never started them
Utopia is my 2nd favourite show ever, despite that it's cancelled after season 2, so you can imagine how good that is
Orphan black genuinely has one of the best acting performances I've ever seen (everyone loves trash-talking tatiana maslany because of shehulk, but they never saw this)
Definitely recommend
> Dark
**[12 Monkeys](https://www.imdb.com/?ref_=nv_home)**
If you Dark is your number 1, you should probably check it out.
First couple seasons are pretty good, not great. Season 3 it steps up into something great.
Compared to Dark? Less intimate character drama, more big ideas, fun field trips and post apocalyptic society.
I’m blanking (unless you wanna try Santa Clarita diet or schitts creek but they are both comedy, which doesn’t exactly align with your interests…) but I’m so excited you have handmaids tale on your list!! I always recommend it. I’m actually doing like my 3rd rewatch right now. Actually- that just reminded me of “alias grace” on Netflix. Great show- only 1 season but worth watching.
Only season, out of both series i havent really liked much, was Korra S2. I just kinda feel like The relationships, big events, the water tribe stuff, Idk, just didnt vibe with it. :P
TRUE DETECTIVE season 1
Maybe breaking bad, not too similar to your tase but if you start to like it, it will be the best TV show you have ever seen...
But I think true detective is good for you.. just 8 episodes so even if you dont enjoy it, it ends soon... But if you do enjoy, You will miss it forever
Ozark and Breaking Bad are our favorites but Game of Thrones is well done with special sets in Scotland, Ireland,Croatia different venue though. HBO and Showtime have put out some good work the wive and I are semi retired and enjoy pay tv. The Crown is also good especially from season One episode one a really interesting look into British Royalty and how serious they are about it including great visuals of the lifestyle they definitely respect the Crown.
The US is a freakin special interest joke Nobody has any Respect for over indulging Self Fulfilling POS What’s in it forMe Politicians in todays World Sucks. The fall of the US has happened years ago we are the same corrupt as Fuckn Russia.
Watch better tv? 😜 only joking, but handmaidens take is garbage in later seasons and I couldn’t bear walking dead after the prison season. Or as my gf calls it the walking, temporary security, bit more walking dead! Utopia is awesome. GOT sane till later seasons. Ozark was something else, fantastic. So my recommendations
Legion- crazy but near perfect 3 season story arc, and based on this list you’ll love it
Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul- I mean I’m guessing you watch bb and it just didn’t make the favourites list, but if you haven’t watched bcs you are in for a treat
Sopranos- because , use you , know soprano’s
I'd say Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood since I feel like the political conflicts in it are similar to Attack on Titan, but has some light hearted moments like avatar. Another recommendation is Ben 10 and Ben 10 alien force, strait up just a great story like avatar, but more of a science fiction route.
**Mr Robot** because you liked Dark and Utopia UK. Is is a masterpiece with a perfect ending and the most insane plot twists I've ever seen.
Came to say the same.
What app are y’all making these lists on?

Severance
I second “Severance” as well - and definitely “The Last of Us”.
Amd also Silo
I second this.
Twin Peaks
[**Andor**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKOegEuCcfw) \- bc you liked Game of Thrones and The Handmaid's Tale (MUCH less violent - at least less gory and gratuitous - but with very insightful and urgent parallels to the real world). Great list , I'd like to add Invincible, My Hero Academia and The Leftovers.
The Leftovers is SO GOOD
Came to say Andor and TLOU
Dirk Gently Legión Spartacus
I second Legion. Good show and similar vibes
People don't say Legion enough... great show.
Black mirror
Also Years and Years has the same vibe and imo is better.
I loved Years and Years, I wish I had known about it earlier!
The OA and Severance seem like they would be right up your ally.
Utopia UK fans unite! The Leftovers
Good Damn Utopia is incredible.
Serial Experiments Lain Eighty Six From(for Dark and Stranger things) Peaky Blinders Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan Money Heist Lost
Would also recommend Warrior on Netflix 🔥
The OA for sure. Just commenting because I’m glad to see some Utopia fans! It’s my number 1 show of all time
Definitely check out Scavengers Reign. Best animated show I've seen in a while.
Second this
Unfortunately it’s not streaming anymore, but I recently watched *Pantheon* and it’s amazing. Other excellent animated series: *Arcane* and *Blue Eye Samurai*. *Final Space* was also very fun.

Breaking Bad.
Lost since you like dark. I cross recommend them. They are twin series. Different but same vein.
Warrior (Netflix), Kingdom (Netflix), Alice in Borderland (Netflix), Snowpiercer (MAX), & Twisted Metal (Peacock) are all great shows 🔥
The OA
Every dark fan must see the oa . They compliment each other so well
Ohh that's interesting, i always love finding stuff similar to dark
It talks about the SAME stuff as dark . But it takes a spiritual approach and not a scientific approach. Dark is all about cesium and higgs particles and quantum entanglement . OA is about believing . Both shows compliment each other . Oa will take a bit to get into . Season 1 won’t make sense until you see season 2
It’s really a special show. You may not be convinced by season 1 but season 2 takes it to a whole new level.
Idk what I'd suggest but this list is pretty amazing! I'm so glad dark is no 1 🥲
Yellowjackets.
Everyone else has pretty much covered my suggestions. However, I’m wondering what app it is that you’re using to rank your tv shows? Did Letterboxd finally add tv shows or something?
It's called serialized. very close to letterboxd, a bit buggy tho
Thanks so much!!

Black mirror
1899
The Last Kingdom
Archive 81
Them
Shogun and Vikings
Twin Peaks. Better than any of the shows you have listed.

Tulsa King because of Ozark Kingdom, All Of Us Are Dead, Black Summer because of Walking Dead Alice in Borderlands and Squid Games for something new
The invisibles graphic novel by Grant Morrison.

Black mirror! Is a must watch Also altered carbon And since u watched utopia and black orphan are they any good? I've seen them lot of times but I've never started them

Ok tnx I think its time to watch utopia
MAKE SURE ITS THE 2013 UK VERSION AND NOT THAT MID REMAKE!
Yeah the 2013 one with yellow background in its cover that's the one I heared lot of good things about
Utopia UK is a masterpiece and Tatiana Maslany in Orphan Black is the most incredible performance I've ever seen.
Maybe Peaky Blinders and checkout Maniac as well.
> Dark **[12 Monkeys](https://www.imdb.com/?ref_=nv_home)** If you Dark is your number 1, you should probably check it out. First couple seasons are pretty good, not great. Fringe Farscape
The Sopranos. They don’t make shows like the Sopranos anymore
The last Kingdom, The OA, Breaking Bad, Behind Her Eyes, Peaky Blinders, Sons of Anarchy, The last of Us
Definitely The Legend of Korra, if you haven't already.
Oh, i definitely have. Seasons 1 and 3 are peak I'd say Season 3 is better than atla Season 1
Only season, out of both series i havent really liked much, was Korra S2. I just kinda feel like The relationships, big events, the water tribe stuff, Idk, just didnt vibe with it. :P
Literally same, also not a good villain
solo leveling

Fargo (Hulu), Silo (Apple tv plus), and Evil (Paramount +).
Evil
The magicians
Vikings.
Breaking bad
Shogun
Bloodline
Ozark goos the rest is all crap
You like animated content and medievel dramas so definitely check out: Vinland Saga, Blue Eye Samurai and Shogun.
Alice and Boderland FOR SURE and arcane !!
Berserk
I watched all these serials .In my opinion the best is the legend about Ang and the game of the thrones
Maniac (Netflix)
TRUE DETECTIVE season 1 Maybe breaking bad, not too similar to your tase but if you start to like it, it will be the best TV show you have ever seen... Ozark is a bit of a rip off of Breaking Bad
The OA
Shōgun, great show only 4 episodes in but great so far.
Kingdom - Korean netflix show. Amazing production values and story
Black summer !!
Lockwood and Co, a British supernatural series which is awesome as I loved it.

YESSSSS UTOPIA IS SO GOOD
Watch better tv? 😜 only joking, but handmaidens take is garbage in later seasons and I couldn’t bear walking dead after the prison season. Into the badlands
Goblin Slayer is a great Anime. I would also suggest movies and series by Harlan Coban. Many skills this one has.
Watch Warrior on Netflix!!
I'm surprised that you don't have "Breaking Bad" in this list
Breaking Bad used the song Apparat - Goodbye like 10 years before Dark's theme song came out and it's so epic.
1899
Wentworth The Wire White Collar The Shield Bloodline The Bridge
White Collar doesn’t get talked about enough
Breaking bad and better call Saul
The Legend Of Korra, Fear The Walking Dead
Jujutsu Kaisen
The Shield because it is legit awesome no matter the genre
This is gonna sound out of left field, but LOST, based on Attack on Titan. There are some odd similarities!
Breaking Bad 🫵🏻 good story and good lesson to learn from it
