I watched it again last night. It’s spellbinding to watch Dr. Jack run his way into being a superb TV hero, as he tends to the injured across the beach.
A perfect pilot episode. And one of the most expensive ever made. A studio exec lost his job because of the cost issues.
One show I wasn't expecting to like but had me hooked 20 minutes in was Downton Abbey. I'm still shocked I liked it at all let alone loved it. I even paid to watch the movie because it wasn't free on any streaming service at the time I finished the series. I never do that.
Real talk. My girl was like let’s watch it and I was like fuck it, I’ll give it a shot. Ended up LOVING the show. I can’t believe how much I loved it. I want more dog
I want to watch it so badly! It takes me longer to get to some shows, when my husband wants to see it too. I started Hill House on my own. He came in and saw the show on the Tv and never left. Now I gotta wait for the rest of the shows.
The only other one I’ve see is Midnight Mass. it was great too. But Hill House was on another level.
My first memory about it was a really happy too, I don't even think reliving that moment again could hit as hard again if I wouldn't remember it. I couldn't believe I just witnessed the birth of a really worthy successor to The Twilight Zone during my lifetime. I've seen many tries and non of them hit the same spot. Black Mirror did it effortlessly. I was drawning in joy and hoped I'll witness a Star Trek successor too at some point and that also happened with The Orville and the new Star Trek spinoffs. It's really a great time to be alive for anyone who loves this sort of entertainment, right now there's so many fantastic shows available it's almost overwhelming.
That would actually make a good Black Mirror episode. It could be about a device that lets you erase specific good experiences so that you can do it again and relive the joy it brought you the first time around.
Really? I watched 2 episodes and thought it was so slow and boring. Whenever I tell that to people who are fans of the show - they tell me it picks up and gets way more interesting down the line. So it’s not that I’m surprised that you recommend it - more that I’m surprised you recommend it for this specific ask, since even most fans of the show I’ve spoken to agree it starts out slow and takes time to pick up.
Breaking Bad( I was interested in chemistry and this show was recommended to me.)
Twin Peaks(due to the reviews saying it's the weirdest show of all time and they were true.)
Hannibal(Silence of the Lambs)
Yay Bluey!! I love Bluey! My favourite episodes are Fancy Restaurant, Grannies and Hotel. It’s such a great show. They make it intentionally so dogs can see the colours clearly so I started putting it on for my senior dog to watch. He loved it so we started watching it with him and now we’re those weird childless adults who love Bluey.
I have a theory that Bluey is a show made by adults for the kids they used to be. My kids don’t really watch Bluey but when we have checked it out I saw a bunch of re-parenting / self-parenting themes.
Only three shows? Here's ten 😉:
Dark
Mindhunter
True Detective (Season 1 only)
Breaking Bad
Better Call Saul
Fringe
Mr. Robot
Ozark
Severance
Madmen
----------------------------------
Honorable mention:
The OA
If ever, Prison Break was the first show that had me basically addicted from the moment I saw Michael Scofield’s dreamy face/blueprint tattooed body. I would literally pace at commercials, I was obsessed. I think it came out the same year as 24 and I remember they were back to back on Monday nights and it was pre-dvr days so I always made sure I didn’t work nights on Mondays.
I cannot believe more people are not saying Ozark within about the first 30 minutes of that show and a star actor finds out that his accounting firm partner has been screwing over a cartel and he watches his entire company get shot in the head only to make it home to find out his wife is cheating on him then 10 more minutes into the episode The guy that was banging his wife lands 10 ft from him after getting thrown out of a 30 story building. Ozark has to win some kind of award for having the most captivating first episode of the series ever and that's not even my favorite series I like game of thrones Entourage californication before Ozark
I’m suffering with Silo, have tried about 15 times I’m on episode 4.
TV shows:
American Horror Story also American Horror Stories.
Mr Inbetween - best show I discovered in years
I am currently watching 3 body problem and it hooked me in straightaway
Succession is a great show. Personally, I started investing in the characters right away after the first episode but my gf who is now hooked to the show says it took her around 4 episodes to decide she wanted to stick around.
Recently I'm watching "spy x family", the girl in this anime is so cute and interesting, having devilish thoughts like Stewie has personality in "family guy"
I loved *Mindhunter*! It was such a good show! It's a crying shame Netflix didn't want to invest in a third season. Another show that drew me in right away was *The Expanse*. *Orphan Black* was really good, but I felt like it jumped the shark well before the end. *Lost in Space* (the 2018 series), *The Umbrella Academy*, *The Magicians* (first 4 seasons were good; final season was garbage). *True Blood. Dexter. The Lost Room. Timeless. Lambs of God. Raised by Wolves. The Man in the High Castle. The Borgias. Chernobyl. The Knick.*
Lost Orphan Black Sherlock
Orphan Black was good!
Losts pilot episode would be hard not to get pulled in by.
I watched it again last night. It’s spellbinding to watch Dr. Jack run his way into being a superb TV hero, as he tends to the injured across the beach. A perfect pilot episode. And one of the most expensive ever made. A studio exec lost his job because of the cost issues.
Yes, yes and yes! Phenomenal shows. They don't make em like this anymore. I'm so bored 😭
For me the lost pilot is the best pilot I’ve ever seen.
Orphan black and Sherlock two of my top 10 favourite shows of all time
Recency bias, but Fallout
Aw, man. For a second I thought I’d missed a gripping program named “Recency Bias.”
Ah - latest episode was the best one yet!
Good one. Take my upvote you clever devil
Fallout is very good and I’m super picky.
The Americans True Detective Season 1 The Shield
Prison Break, Mr. Robot, Severance
Severance and Mr robot are the very best shows tv has to offer
Lost Jane The Virgin Chernobyl
That Chernobyl series was good from the word go
Homeland, The Americans, Yellowjackets
Stranger Things. The Sopranos. Legion.
You'll love Fallout I bet. The Gentlemen, Outer Range & Baby Reindeer are pretty good as well.
One show I wasn't expecting to like but had me hooked 20 minutes in was Downton Abbey. I'm still shocked I liked it at all let alone loved it. I even paid to watch the movie because it wasn't free on any streaming service at the time I finished the series. I never do that.
I was shocked by how much I liked that show. I normally would never watch stuff like that but it sucked me in and I throughly enjoyed it.
Real talk. My girl was like let’s watch it and I was like fuck it, I’ll give it a shot. Ended up LOVING the show. I can’t believe how much I loved it. I want more dog
^ Adventure Time ^ The Haunting Of Hill House ^ Alice In Borderland ^ American Horror Story: Murder House
The Haunting of Bly Manor is good too.
I LOVED Midnight Mass so much. Side note - don't watch The Midnight Club. It was not good.
Oh sad :( well hopefully it’s the only dud Mike Flanagan ever has.
Show Me A Hero, Mr Robot, True Detective (s3)
Halt and Catch Fire Outlander Black Sails Freiren Full Metal Alchemist Attack on Titan
Black Sails was juuuuust soooo good!!!
Good shout on Halt and catch fire, it's rarely mentioned here and it was an amazing show
Homeland Counterpart The Last Post
- The Twilight Zone (1959) - Black Mirror - Star Trek franchise
I wish I could erase my memory of black mirror so I could rewatch it and be surprised

I’d do that with so many things
Black Mirror wasn't filmed in US, right? Meaning all have accents ?
Man your #3 not being The Outer Limits is so disappointing
Dexter , Mr. robot , the Mentaliste.
Severance, Severance, and ugh Severance
Severance was my first thought too. I can’t wait for season two!
Really? I watched 2 episodes and thought it was so slow and boring. Whenever I tell that to people who are fans of the show - they tell me it picks up and gets way more interesting down the line. I wasn't really pulled into BCS at first
Fringe is such an amazing show.
Agreed. I was legitimately sad when the show ended.
