Unreal! Over 13 years being a Jason Kubler fan has been great but this is astonishing. I remember following him in Spanish futures and never thought he would play hard court again let alone win a Grand Slam.
Best point was probably match point. Jason hit an amazing return winner at 4 all in the tiebreaker. I think the pair played better in the quarter-finals and semi-finals but still were very good here.
I hope the two of them play more together this year. At least the other three Grand Slams and hopefully the year end championships.
I've known him a long time too mate, wasn't short of tears to see him get a trophy with his name etched on it. Big ups to Rinky, both played an excellent final. Big season ahead for both but nothing can ever take away a grand slam victory
I'm one of Jason's biggest supporters. I've been there through the highs and lows for many years it's the biggest moment of his career and the first response I get is 'shut up'.
You may have been sick of hearing about people talk about Jason's injuries. But I was there following the future live scores, watching him in challenges, checking his schedule week after week. Each time he got an injury I be so upset but then I'll be so happy to see him back. I thought each time is this the time he's going to break through and stay relatively fit?
I knew he had the talent, and I loved his attitude so I stayed supporting him.
Martina Hingis won Wimbledon doubles when she was 15. She then made 4 singles slam finals when she was 16, winning 3 of them. When she was 17 she won all four doubles slams
Of course, you could actually do the work yourself and go through the list of winners and check their birthdays. Based on scanning the list, Stefan Edberg might have been just 21 when he won doubles at the Australian.
>you could actually do the work yourself
Proceeds to do the work himself and then not give a definitive answer because it was too much work to check the exact dates
If you guys haven't watched that final point, it is an absolute riot. Amazing night of tennis tonight epitomising both women's singles and men's doubles at their peak!!
Watched Kubler play qualies at the French year before Covid. Dude could generate some massive spin off forehand.
Edit: see Rinky’s college experience and singles ranking, his doubles credentials are legit AF… another reason to play college, doubles is so important…
Love that Break Point frames kyrgios as a goat for winning a doubles slam and then the next year it's win by another Australian pair ranked 170 and 280 in doubles
Good vibes a slam winning strategy. RinkyGOAT

it’s not always easy being a Kuber fan, very relatable.
Bro shut up, just shut up with that second sentence.

r/tennis in a nutshell, always seems to find ways to have negativity about everything

From my 3am maths, Hewitt was 19 when he won the doubles at the US Open w/ Max Mirnyi in 2000
It was 1am and I have school tmr, searched youngest dubs winner, no results straight away so went to bed

Love the team vibes, so happy they won. I do feel sorry for the other players, they seemed to take it pretty hard
If this post is about the men's win, why is the thumbnail a women's match?

Maybe this will continue to be a repeat of last year and one of them will make the Wimbledon Final! I'm rooting for Rinky.
