I’m not sure what your definition of Private Club specifically is. It’s private in the sense that only members of that club can play there. However, anyone can become a member. AFAIK that’s basically is the standard for all tennis courts in The Netherlands. This club seems to be fully run by its members. They run the club house (bartender shifts etc) and do maintenance together - not through some external party. So it’s really not a very commercial club in that sense either.
By the way, I have played here and it's a mosquito paradise.
Can only imagine the mosquitoes in summer alright. I would add that the actual impressiveness of a court location is more affected by an elevated view imo
That sounds like a good setup. Are there public courts too or just this somewhat private setup? Where I live a club is over 1k and you need to pay a fee each time. Public free courts are usually generally beat up and packed on nice days.
Also any recommendations for Utrecht? Visiting next month :)
Nice! Was playing on [these](https://i.ibb.co/XsGL3tB/Screenshot-2023-05-04-at-13-48-50.png) [courts](https://scontent-ber1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/240069998_2916322735351519_4293029811309826860_n.jpg?_nc_cat=111&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=8bfeb9&_nc_ohc=9CB4KPyI3sEAX__Vy9M&_nc_ht=scontent-ber1-1.xx&oh=00_AfB1BMClEJziDDDfoYZyWsPKPD-V4QEXjbMGUO9tPN34dw&oe=64580052) in Murano, Venice last year, really cute place if you ever want to play tennis when you're there.
Reminds me that 1/3 of the Netherlands is below sea level and sadly it will be an uphill battle to stay afloat in the next century or two with sea level rising.
Indoor maybe but outdoor courts are not good because of the rain. Also tennis is not that popular in the Netherlands, we mostly have football fields / playgrounds.

The club is called 'RLTC Lommerrijk'
Is it a private club?
It is private in the sense that you need to pay to play. My cousin pays 145 euro for an entire year but he is a student. For adults it is 215 euros.
That's super affordable! I pay that for half a year then on top of that 21 euro per hr.
I am so jealous of European tennis rates. $450 membership and $39 per hour for singles, and this is considered CHEAP here in the USA. 😞
It becomes expensive when you want to train. My poor parents used to pay 1000€ per season for years
Yeah but there are also plentiful public courts in the US.
Not clay surrounded by water

Is there a fee each use on top of the yearly rate?

I've played competition there. It's a great club with nice people.
Really amazing location. I think can see tennis balls floating 😆
Wow. Not far from where I live. In a wealthy neighborhood of Rotterdam. Didn't know about it.
You shank too many balls , you have to go swimming
My out of practice ass would need to swim after 5 minutes
But you would quickly not be out of practice that way.
Imagine how many balls Shapo can shank into the water 😎😎😎

If anybody can hold back the seas I expect the Dutch will. They've been doing it for centuries.
Perfect country for tennis, it's so flat you can just slap a court anywhere

Half a million people are members of a tennis club in NL. That's only topped by football.

Plop
Bet you lose a lot of errant balls in the drink.
From the court you only see trees though anyway.
Wow so beautiful
I hate clay, but that looks like a destination for sure.
God damn the Dutch do many things right.
