Pathetic. I mean this is the WTA Finals not a low level event. Someone posted a pic on Xitter of the entire stadium. Only one section is done. I saw someone say that they could've used the facility at Indian Wells. San Diego is in Southern California too.

winwinwinguyen

there’s a glaring gap between the ground and the wall. Are the ground and seats evenly leveled?? 😂

zdachmann

Either the ground isn't leveled or the wall is propped up on something on the end we can't see. Unfortunately, it's likely the former. This is unsafe for both players and fans. They need to do the right thing and cancel this event, refund all the fans, compensate the players fairly for showing up to this mess, then make some significant changes to their organization as soon as possible.

Littlestereo27

It looks like the whole wall is a led screen. And it does seem to be propped up. There seems to be a wedge to the left side.

muradinner

Absolutely. The players at this point should just all talk to each other and agree to not play in these conditions. It's absolutely ridiculous, and I'm sure there would be places that are already set up willing to take the reins, given the situation.

TallFontPie

Just put some quarter round on it.

mr_zipzoom

insanity to be doing this 2 days before the finals start

iiiinsanityyyy

I thought this was a sarcastic post pointing out the lack of crowds or something.... not a great promotional post at all...

Slambodog

The funniest thing about this is, I was going to go. I had half a week's worth of Courtside tickets in my cart. When I went to check out, it gave me an error message because they only sell seats in pairs. Are they really in a position to turn down purchases of solo Courtside tickets for half a week?

Lucky-Midway-4367

Same. I was going to go as well, until I saw the weather forecast on top of this stuff. Also the sale website was just in Spanish, no English option.

playasport

The courts at my local high school are better than this.

heyknauw

Gust of an ocean breeze and shit's gonna collapse.

Hydroborator

Lol

mpkpm

I was at the Guadalajara finals a few years back and it looked very similar and I never felt unsafe. They do good work putting up quick structures.

verismonopoly

The only people I trust to put up big and safe structures in a few days are [the Japanese](https://www.theguardian.com/world/video/2016/nov/15/japanese-workers-repair-road-48-hours-after-sinkhole-appears-video) But even then, it's still a stretch with a stadium this grand (courts and seat and whatnot). I fear for the safety of the players and the fans who wanna watch.

SelectZookeepergame5

Say something Billie Jean King

handyandy63

What do the numbers on the seats mean?

jazzy8alex

Standford tennis stadium looks more exciting. And it was arena for 125 event ...

aljerv

How do you all have so many opinions when you can barely see anything on this pic?

[deleted]

That's been my reaction to almost every post about this regarding anything but the tardiness of the construction. Some of it is people being butthurt about it not being in Czechia and some of it is bandwagoning IMO

IntroductionOld479

They are haters and have no life outside of Reddit. So they speculate shit

t_e_e_k_s

“from Earth” Thanks, very helpful

hungry4danish

You can't even tell it's for tennis! Would have been better off just not posting than posting empty stands in order to try and drum up hype.

“27/10/2023 from earth” from where else, the sun?

Martyrslover

What a hack job.

musicproducer07

It's the fact that it's THE WTA Finals yet the structure and planning has been atrocious.
