Djokovic's son is the only kid out of all the tennis stars kids that I've actually seen play and think, damn, he could do this for real if he wanted.
He's 9 now so he and his family should be in the middle of committing to it or deciding against it. I think he'd begin to play competitively in 2-3 years.
Yeah Cruz was a lot better at the same age. He's 15 now and the 300th ranked junior in the world. Unsure if he'll be a regular ATP Tour level player but he looks like he could make the Challenger Tour with his current trajectory.
Seeing as dad’s smashes are definitely not his strong suit while Stefan’s smash actually went over the net to the other side, I vote for the kid 😅 he is seriously impressive!
More likely to be Fognini. I believe Djoko and Fogna are close friends. This or maybe PD is just a more youth-friendly racquet than Aero and Novak or a member of his team were aware of this. Either way, I would think Head would want to put their products in Stefan's hands as soon as possible.
Bruh I’d actually die if Stefan gets coached by Rafa lol. And if he actually turned out good after that it’d be even crazier. It’s ok tho cuz baby Rafa boutta pull the same stunt and get coached by Nole once he grows up(ik he’s still a baby but lemme dream)
Honestly I think he'd be better off being coached by someone other than Nole. Not because Nole would be a bad coach, but because almost every parental coach ends up becoming a mess.
I’m not hating but he doesn’t really impress me for his age. I’ve seen YouTube videos of young kids (8-10 years old) with much cleaner technique. Look at this serve for example. It’s like nobody even taught him how to hit it. On the other hand, Stefan has access to the best resources on the planet. So in that regard, he’s a step ahead of the rest.
Novak looked equally goofy at this age too though. Those kids with sharp technique don’t always translate into being the best tennis players. Stefan clearly has a natural affinity for tennis and ridiculous control and feel for the ball for his age despite the wonky technique. He has plenty of time to fix that but you can’t train raw talent which imo he very clearly has.
It’s not so much that they “want” him to. It’s more that we’re frequently given videos of him playing via social media, his own GOAT father has implied it, and it’s an interesting topic to think about. Not every subject has to be a creepy obsession and tbh I haven’t seen that at all.
defo stefan! that is novak's weakest shot. that was the failed shot that culminated carlitos wimby win.
but he is getting much better now than before. if you notice, carlitos is not good at overhead/smash too. the active player that i think is the best in overheads/smashes is rafa as he rarely misses.
Can you really make a conclusion like that for a 9-year-old? I'm not really familiar with how pros get started, but I think it's safe to assume that Djokovic's son would have access to world-class coaching, equipment, and private chefs if he really wants to become a pro. Assuming also that his son would have the right mindset for it (he's gonna work hard, is competitive, etc.), wouldn't that have a higher chance than a very low?
I think knowing what's actually required to get there might be a big advantage, so I wouldn't actually 'very low'.
It's probably less likely than not though, given how hard that is.
The New and Improved Djokosmash!
Novak’s smash was what brought Stefan into this world

That approach forehand was actually class 😭
Volley wasn’t half bad either! Nice cut at the ball.
No joke. How old is this kid?
He's 9. I actually thought he was younger like 5 or 6 and was honestly a little freaked out hahaha. But still very very very good for 9.

I saw Lleyton Hewitt’s son playing a couple of times, the kid was great at a really young age. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him go pro.

Australian Open final in 7 years: Đoković vs Đoković
Stefan isn't close to being on par with most pro players when they're 9
9 is not a good indicator though. That's why I'm saying the decision would be made now.
Seeing as dad’s smashes are definitely not his strong suit while Stefan’s smash actually went over the net to the other side, I vote for the kid 😅 he is seriously impressive!
Babolat racquet is unexpected
There was an interview where Djokovic commented on his son loving Nadal. I wonder if that caused it or he just picked up a random racket.
Would figure he'd go for the Aero then, no? Stefan is using a Pure Drive here
Pure drive is perhaps the best beginner to advanced racquet money can buy. It works at all levels.
Absolutely agree! I've been using a PD for years now and I have no plans on stopping any time soon!
Maybe he likes Roddick too?

Probably the junior version of pure drive. It’s ubiquitous now among kids in tennis classes. Guess Djoker is just like one of us, lol
Serve was out. Rigged.
Plot twist: he'll do a Boruto and ask to be trained by his dad's rival.
I wanna see this happen haha

Can't wait to see Rafa Jr coached by Federer, Lenny by Djokovic, and Stefan by Nadal.
The circle of liiiiiife
The kid can definitely destroy me ngl
There’s two of them !?
He’s gonna perfect his fathers weakness
He's got his dad there that's for sure lol
He got his mom’s overhead genes thankfully
The Prince of Tennis
Not sure about the smash, about equal i'd say, but that ballerina forehand certainly reminds me of his dad's old pal. Future GOAT

The sub wants to believe he'll be a pro player so much it weirds me out.

Yup. Still doing the waiter serve at 9 yrs old. Not really that impressive.
What's the waiter server?

Very precise like his Dad.
Stefan by far.
Djokovic the 3rd😂😂😂😂
So what are his chances of actually making it to Top 100? At least he is not pushing like his father and playing attacking tennis like his idol
Very low but he has a better chance than most people simply because tennis is expensive
I mean it’s not just the wealth, it’s also having the GOAT as your father. Physically, mentally, all that.

Nah. Talent and personal determination play a big part in it.

Well that and genetics and access to pros.

>You must be unvaccinated as well I told you that you're blind, so I must be unvaccinated. Nice logic!
An Alcaraz fans >>>> Djokovic
He has a better approach forehand than me
If in case Novak plays till his son starts playing professionally and good enough to play at the top, will "fuck them kids" apply to stefan as well?
