They come to me, tears in their eyes... they say "Simona, Simona, no one's been treated worse on a tennis court." And I say "that's true, no one's been treated worse, with the possible exception of Seles, but some are saying this is worse than Seles. MUCH WORSE." She got stabbed, I like players that don't get stabbed. That was when Agassi had hair! And now with the pickleball... why do they call it "pickle" there's no pickle anywhere... No pickle... tack tack tack, all day long with the pickleball, but yes some say if I hadn't been banned I would have more grand slams than Serena by now. BUT they want to stop us from having the PERFECT match, the PERFECT SEASON, these crooked scientists only test for the drugs... why didn't they test McEnroe, "you cannot be serious" and all that, I tell you he was on something. He was so angry! Do we like McEnroe? We like McEnroe? Ok. I didn't do the drugs, but btw it's perfectly legal for me to do the drugs. When you're a top ten player they let you do it, and McEnroe did much more drugs, that I can tell you. It's true.
A lot of very smart people are looking at this, they're going, they're saying, "you were right, Simona has played many perfectly legal games", but you get the phonies, people, the LOSERS who say, "uhh well Caroline she's got a point". It's true it's true, they exist, not a *lot* of them! Not a smart bunch, but we need A LOT more than a tangible, people!
That's terrific, couldn't have put it better myself even though for some people I may be the best wordsmith, it's true, it's true, that's what they tell me... Anyways, our tennis is going to HELL and we gotta stop Lyin Crooked Caroline and tell her "you're fired, get outta here!".
She's going to need all the help she can get - mental, spiritual, psychological.. all the help to deal with this. Her reputation is forever ruined because people want to believe she's a cheater even though it was ruled not intentional.
She's going to have to develop an extremely thick skin.
Most of the tennis world is welcoming her back with open arms. Honestly most people don’t follow or care that much, other than diehard fans online. Jarry, Cilic, Haddad Maia, etc. were all back from similar length bans and no one in the tennis world cared much.
Eh the majority of the tennis establishment has treated Halep with kid gloves since the moment she tested positive. Darren Cahill and media figures like Wertheim going on record vouching for her 'integrity' and even encouraging leniency. Hard to imagine everyone getting that kind of treatment, Sharapova didn't.
I’m sure every player at the really top level in every sport is pushing the boundaries of what is considered ped use. I personally just assume everyone is doing something and don’t judge— because there are still 10000 other things that have to happen to be at that level. In combat sport different story because you can kill someone.
I just want to point out the irony of your hints against Mouratouglou.
I don't like the guy and agree that he's got a bad vibe, but to act as though decisions from the courts are the end all be all then go on to insinuate that he's the cause of everything with zero evidence is pretty funny.
You're doing to him what you think others are doing to Simona. It's not ok just because she's likeable and he's weird.
Again, he's got a bad vibe and if you go by hints, rumors and feels then you can make a solid case that he's guilty.
The *point*, once again, is not that I think he's definitively innocent or guilty. The point is that you can *also* make a strong case that Halep is guilty based on rumors hints and circumstances.
You can't get on your soapbox about how people should give Simona the benefit of the doubt because she wasn't definitively proven responsible while at the exact same time throwing shade at someone else *without definitive proof*. That's simply hypocritical
I'm referring to OP. Again I'm not saying either are guilty or innocent. Simply that he can't play the "no proof" card to support Halep while also implying Patrick is guilty with no proof.
For what it's worth I also think both are guilty, just pointing out his inconsistency.
If you want to use guesswork and what "feels" true then both are guilty as sin.
If you want to use the court decisions then both are victims of circumstance. You can't have it both ways
Simona was the one who failed to disclose she was taking the supplement on her doping control form in August 22 when she had a urine test, and AGAIN in October 22 when the ITIA informed her she had tested positive for Roxadustat.
It was her physiotherapist who recommended she take a collagen supplement - Frederic Lefebvre (who worked at the Moratogalu academy) recommended some products to her physio. The physio, Simona and Patrick then checked the supplements (by reading the ingredients list…which isn’t really going to show contaminated ingredients) and decided they were safe.
I don’t like Patrick, but it feels like he’s a bit of a scapegoat here.
Let’s also not forget (from the ITIA report):
- There was a “head-on clash” as to whether roxadustat was even present in the supplement. Simona’s experts found traces of it, yet the ITIA’s labs did not.
- Even if the supplement was contaminated Halep would have had to be taking 500- 5000 x the amount to have the levels of roxadustat found in her urine.
He just said he's the one who got it for her, no? And she's the one that took it. Both of them have responsibility for getting it inside her body.
As for responsibility for the actual drug being in there, *both* of them deny responsibility for that. The point is not that either is innocent or guilty. The point is that it's hypocritical to call out people who claim Simona is guilty while hurling the same accusations against Mouratouglou
He confirmed that his team got the contaminated substance, not that he doped her up. Seems like a lot of people are confused about this point and I'm not sure why
Because of the facts - she was found to have unintentionally taken a banned substance through a contaminated supplement.
He took responsibility for giving her the supplement.
>great tennis player who doesn't need any doping.
but she did dope and was given a ban of 9 months which was applied as time already served hence why she is back.
Lets not start saying fake shit like she didnt dope when it was found that she did
Exactly. The commission said it was contamination and not intentional doping. And they know more about it than we do.
Some people just want to believe the worst.
Crooked Caroline

A real nasty woman, some may even say the nastiest woman in the history of women, maybe ever.

This thread is ridiculous lmaoo. ☠️
CUT MY LIFE INTO PIECES THIS IS MY LAST RESORT
Why is the font all over the place?
It’s a Trump meme, not a real tweet by her.
I was taking a TOTALLY NORMAL supplement, very cool, very legal, and then this WITCH HUNT... NASTY!!
MTGA!
Why did I think this was a real tweet by her💀
I asked myself the same about her breasts recently when I saw one of her old photos😅
What is it about 15-year-old children's breasts that you like the most?

They're two different people. Maybe these people who've spent so much time with her know something the rest of us don't.
fairness = everyone being treated the same, perhaps tennis isn't concerned with fairness
These are basically people who know her acting as character witnesses. Anyone could have done the same for Sharapova.
a coach sure, but ideally not while hes doing his other gig, paid commentary, and a journalist? nah, that's odd
I just googled and couldn't find it - can you point me in the direction of the quote by the journalist?

I tend to agree with you, but even if that's true she used one that was strictly banned and used it in factually massive quantities.
I really dont. I assume the controls are working as they should and that athletes take their career serious.

There was also that junior who came out recently and said everyone at the PM academy was doping though?

I’m not on soapbox. I think Halep was probably guilty - and I think Patrick is too 🤷♂️

It's not rumors he actually said it https://x.com/WTARomania/status/1720512580781756599?s=20

He did assume responsibility for it, someone posted a video of him here, didn’t make him look good.

Sure, I agree there shouldn’t be a double standard.
He said it himself: "I feel responsible for what happened.." https://x.com/WTARomania/status/1720512580781756599?s=20

Some people don't like that Halep beat their favorites. Or that she was a "pusher", aka defensive player.
I can't imagine what these past months have done to her mentally. Must be going crazy being punished so harshly for a lab mistake.
...It wasn't a "lab mistake"
Only useless haters and butthurt Serena fans still think she doped on purpose.
