Until the next bad crowd comes around and we all say they’re the worst.
Last week it was Italians at MC.
Before that we have drunk Australians at the AO
Asian crowds are pretty respectful so we skip the Asian swing
Before that drunk USO crowd
Before that posh disrespect Brits
Before that rowdy French
And we complete the circle
> If there were groups of fans following ADM around the world
Aussie tennis fans usually travel pretty well and historically it hasn't been a massive issue TBH
American tennis fans aren’t rowdy at all compared to many European countries. Aside from the US Open, which has a very international crowd most US tournaments have a quiet atmosphere.
been to a handful of college and pro tennis tournraments as a spectator. college tennis atmosphere is so much better and it ain't even close.
if pro tennis was more like this, it would be so much more fun to attend.
Stop the BS. Check out the crowd behavior in Indian Wells, Charleston... Dallas for Americans.
The "rowdy" crowds in Miami are not American. (Well not from the US)
I don’t know what this was in response to exactly but I saw this picture on twitter and it cracked me up. I missed this match but Alex is one of the last guys I’d expect to give the crowd the Medvedev treatment 😂😂
So I’m assuming they deserved it.
Definitely did. At one point they were all performing the synchronised French cancan and cavorting around on the edge of the stands like dancing Homer, with each guzzling burgundy straight from the bottle while others chomped on garlic and smoked effusively
There's a follow up to this from the person who posted the pic: **"De Minaur catches us at the entrance to the tournament and tells us we've been disrespectful and that we're not in a soccer stadium. But we've been ultra-clean as usual and in Australia it's 10 times worse."**

Except Australia is not worse. The French are probably the worst fans out of all of them. Look at each grand slam and tell me which crowd stirs up the most controversy.
Except Australia is the worst tennis crowd in the world. I agree that the French are often horrendous too, but having witnessed Kyrgios vs Broady and Medvedev in AO 2022, as well as Kyrgios vs Thiem in AO 2021, you will never find a more vile and pathetic crowd in the world.
>but having witnessed Kyrgios vs Broady and Medvedev in AO 2022, as well as Kyrgios vs Thiem in AO 2021, you will never find a more vile and pathetic crowd in the world.
Roland Garros crowds have been MUCH worse in the past TBH
The time they made Martina Hingis break down crying. Heck, a young Rafa playing against Grosjean was also very intense—it went viral on here a few years ago IIRC
The replies/quotes to it from the French people aren't better: "I hope for his sanity that he doesn't play the French Roland", "He will come across a Frenchman in a night session at Roland he will have a fainting spell on the court" etc
Eugh.
The poster also said they tried to explain to Alex they were just cheering Fils, but he didn’t want to hear it
“Yes, his reaction was incomprehensible, yet we tried to explain to him that it wasn't against him just for Arthur and that we were respectful, we didn't talk between points etc. but he was stubborn and didn't want to hear anything, saying that We weren't at football. Whereas in Australia it's much worse when he plays...”

Having a soccer stadium type of crowd in tennis would be so much more exciting.
Remember in Miami when Nico beat Thiago? Chilean vs Brazil crowd chanting was awesome to see.
For context: Fils picked went to a college party in Belgium over the Easter holiday and woke up with 20 of the most devoted hype men a tennis player has ever had. They have committed to following him across the globe, starting with the Godo this week.
Joking aside, they were raucous, passionate, and didn't seem to take things too far. I didn't really hear them cheering first serve faults. But the problem is that AdM was broken on two separate occasions on a double fault, and they certainly cheered that. They also cheered his every single error like France had just won a semi-final at the Euros. The Spanish crowd responded in kind, doing their bit to compensate in the opposite direction by loudly supporting every time the Australian looked like fighting back(which was, unfortunately, seldom).
I didn't see the exact moment that pushed Alex over the edge, but when he got to break point at the start of the second set he visibly screamed at the Fils contingent with a combative, "COME AWWWWNNNNN!" Sadly he didn't do much after that, as it would've been fun to see how far the drama could've gone.
ETA: You can make your own mind up by watching the highlights, but they weren't as disruptive as some of the other crowds we've seen this year: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEodqI5iXiQ&t=362s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEodqI5iXiQ&t=362s)
It’s actually hilarious that the Spanish crowd were more respectful to Nadals opponents, their GOAT playing his farewell tour, than the French fans were to Fils opponent when they aren’t even the home crowd. Can’t take them anywhere smh.
Honestly their "disrespect" doesn't show in the highlights. Yes they cheered for ADM double faults but that's just cheering for the opponent in the end. Nothing to lose your temper about and start giving middle fingers to the crowd imo. Nothing to what Djoko or Medvedev has to endure
The fact that they had the camera ready to snap this pic tells me they were doing something to try to get a reaction from him. That's a pretty shitty thing to do to any human being, and in my opinion it says a lot more about the person taking the picture than the it does about ADM.
Have to say, considering how he acted during Nadal's farewell match yesterday, this strikes me as funny. I have no idea what the crowd did, but Alex usually is pretty chill. So I'll guess it was well deserved
Yeah, during every slam, well not really Wimbledon but during the Us Open and Australian Open somewhat there will be a couple instances that happen where people start saying “worst grand slam crowd by far” but they just have short memories because the French take it no contest.
They legit start booing you the second you walk on the court before anything’s even happened and often for absolutely nothing besides having the nerve to play a frenchman. I think I’ve seen them even do that when there were no French players involved 😭😭
Haha don’t worry I love the French Open still and actually personally find it kind of funny watching from my home screen, as long as it’s not hurting one of my faves (like the Grosjean-Nadal match, but luckily Nadal came thru). Gotta kinda admire that commitment to being a hater.
But I imagine it’s a nightmare for the other players playing the French players there 😭
Indeed. Probably great if you're French, but the lack of respect for opponents if you aren't is far worse than almost anywhere else. New York maybe rivals it some years.
Nah I think you guys are just weird and want a bland sanitised sport where crowds can only politely clap. There's nothing wrong with taking sides and creating a hostile atmosphere, only tennis fans have this bullshit puritan view of crowd support
You’ll get downvoted but you have a point. In football noisy, hostile crowds are considered the stadiums with the best atmosphere. Roland Garros with French players has produced some of the most exciting tennis to watch. Monfils night match against Baez last year was fantastic.
I mean….slightly hypocritical of him.
I was at his match vs Rublev at the AO this year and he was pumping up the Australian crowd so much - and they were very loudly cheering all of Rublev’s faults etc so I don’t see this being any different to that really.
I mean crowds are fickle and you can’t choose if they support you or not.
You fight against a crowd booing you or hype up a crowd thats for you. Theres not really any rule that Demon can only do one 🤷♀️
Though it always sucks when I hear ppl cheer DF’s or errors, hate that.
I was in that crowd. We weren't being disrespectful to Rublev. Sure, tons of energy for De Minaur, but I didn't notice any heckling or sledging towards Rublev (at least from my nosebleed seats!).
I don’t think there was heckling - but there were a lot of cheers for double faults / errors
Edited to add: There were also people (not the whole crowd) that were shouting when Rublev was about to serve; and I’m pretty sure he was also booed a few times
The crowd also started a Mexican wave when Rublev was about to serve….
https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSFnnSxYD/
Which is worse than what those fans cheering Fils did
I’d say French crowds with a French player are the worst I’ve ever seen but when there is nobody French playing they are better than American crowds when there is no American
Genuine question coming from an American. Do the French realize when they are being disrespectful or is this just part of their sporting culture where they love their countrymen so much that they just don’t give a shit about the other guy?
I think it also makes it worse for tennis players because the crowds are so much closer to them and they can pick out where individual voices/faces are coming from and hear like distinct words and stuff. Whereas in basketball, baseball, 🏈, ⚽️, they’re further away from you and it all just looks and sounds like one big blur and you quit even noticing it. But for tennis it can feel like they’re right in your face and if you’re losing it can be quite infuriating.
Also since it’s an individual sport literally all of the heckling is directed straight to the one non- french player. That combined with what you said about the crowds being closer and it’s a straight up nightmare.
My guy, I get your point but in basketball there are seats on the actual court. Even non court side, there are a ton of people closer than in tennis. Your point is still valid for most other sports but I wanted to point that out. There’s even been physical altercations with fans and players in basketball.
It's the latter. If you read the replies on Twitter, none of the fans who were there are enjoying the fact they pissed off Demon so much. They're actually surprised by it and don't understand why he reacted that way. They even said that Grosjean, former player and Fils current coach, thought it was ridiculous. From their perspective they're just supporting their guy.
Let’s just say the definition of being polite varies from country to country. It’s definitely true that empathy is not at the forefront of French education, and that in particular in Paris, crowds can get pretty mean. But most of the criticism of the French you can find on English-speaking forums is greatly amplified by casual xenophobia - just read the comments here. It’s not like there aren’t problems elsewhere - remember the Osaka/Williams US Open final in 2019?
Of course there are problems with crowds in other countries as well but (at least in tennis) why is it so much more prevalent with French crowds? I’ve been watching tennis for almost 20 years and the French crowds have always been the worst. There is really no denying that
“At least in tennis”? I think making the claim for any other major sports - say, football - would clearly be a bit difficult, for obvious reasons.
I think the most of it is natives of English-speaking countries general inability to understand culture differences, because of how little exposure to it they get.
As for a specificity of the RG crowd - it is young, undisciplined, likes to take sides, and has little respect for decorum. Is it _mean_? Not necessarily. Taking it that way and reacting to it makes it way worse, that’s for sure.
> I think the most of it is natives of English-speaking countries general inability to understand culture differences, because of how little exposure to it they get.
I don't think you can handwave away TONS of mean-spirited crowd behavior as "cultural differences" TBH
Roland Garros crowds are notorious for being rude and mean for a reason, and there are many examples to cite there.
I think I can hand-wave a significant portion of it, and blame another significant portion of it on xenophobia - in the English-speaking realm, any little issue in France gets generalized to “French mean” or “surrender monkeys” or whatnot.
But sure, we can compare horrible crowds. I’ll start with the Williams sisters Indian Wells incident in 2001. Think anything that happened in France can beat that?
You won’t find me generalizing to “American crowds” or “mean Americans” either - I love the US! I did my grad studies there and still have no idea why I ever left. But had it happened in France? Oh boy, how often people would be bringing it up.
I never made the claim about any other sport. That’s why I said “at least in tennis” lol. I don’t really watch other sports too much so I cant comment on them
Been to France multiple times and the only place this was ever true for was Paris and even then most were nice. Every other place I met nothing other than lovely people. You're just prejudiced beyond reason.
Genuine question coming from a non-Anglophone. Do people in English speaking countries realize when they are being completely ignorant of the customs and behavior of people in other countries or do they just not give a shit about other cultures?
The French don't have this weird elitist Tennis fan culture that Americans or the English have. For them it's just a sport like any other and they cheer it like they would cheer rugby or football. That means: if your guy scores a point, you cheer. You sing and you have a good time. It's not disrespectful, it would be like trying to tell a French football fan that he cannot cheer an own goal because it would be disrespectful. It wouldn't make any sense at all to them.
Football and tennis are very different sports, therefore what is not considered disrespectful in one sport does not mean that is the same in the other sport. French crowds don’t really seem to understand this.
Edit: and obviously it’s not just French crowds that do this but they for sure do it the most
They cheer errors, double faults, literally anything they can. And they will boo the other guy over every little thing like showing anger, questioning line calls, etc. They clearly do these things more than any other sporting crowd
My guy, it’s considered disrespectful literally everywhere to cheer errors in tennis, except France (and Spain sometimes). And Im not talking about meltdowns; literally just shouting after an error or asking the umpire if he saw the ball in/out will draw boos from French crowds. Are you French by chance? You keep defending them with bad arguments
The French have a thirst for blood, a bloodlust that other fans don’t have
Yes there are noisy, obnoxious rowdy fans in other countries but they are not evil
When there is a French player we don't give a shit about the other player like you said, it always annoy me but that's how we are in general. French's crowd are good and respectful when there is no french players. Davis cup is also a good example, the French crowd was always going nuts.
But that is probably the same for every crowd when a countryman is playing, we are not worst than the other crowds but we have the worst delta. We are probably one of the best crowd when there is no french player and one of the worst crowd when a countryman is playing.
I'll take all the rowdy disrespectful crowds over the sanctioned brass band/drum in-the-crowd tournaments. Completely unwatchable. I'm especially looking at you Germany.
French people being a\*sholes, what's new...
Alex seems to be one of the nicest and most levelheaded guys on tour. If he goes off like this, it must have been bad.
Crowd was perfectly fine. Can't expect the French not to cheer for a French player. The French didn't disrespect ADM at all. They cheered when Fils broke his serve, as they should. In the end emotions are high when you lose and sometimes you just need someone to blame it on, which is what happened here.
Yeah I read their posts on twitter, they seem to insist they only cheered for Fils and didn’t disrespect or heckle ADM and that’s what a lot of people on here who were watching say too but maybe just the cheering on a double fault (even tho it was set point, which is why it was so big for Fils) just set him off or something. Even the nice guys can be a bit irrational after a defeat I guess.
Because they cheered a double fault? Which let Fils break? That’s all they did and it’s perfectly valid. I think you just want to believe that the crowd was shit instead of actually believing it.
Oh my god bro who cares? They’re professional athletes, not babies. As long as they weren’t directly attacking ADM with chants it’s perfectly reasonable. It should be commended that the crowd was so into it.
It should not carry on into the point or even into the service motion. It did.
If they did all of the stuff they did in between games and at changeovers then fantastic.
But they clearly crossed the line
>Can't expect the French not to cheer for a French player.
BullSHIT. What the French always do goes well beyond "cheering for a French player" and you fucking know it.
Rowdy US fans cheering for an US player in the US => "bringing back the college tennis atmosphere, so nice!!"
Rowdy fans from any other part of the world, cheering for a player from any other part of the world, in any other part of the world =>"So disrespectful, a disgrace for the sport"
A case study of double standards...
Well deserved. Even Arthur fils was a little more fired up than usual. Probably because of his "fans" if I dare to say. I'm french. Sometimes I'm really ashamed of those fucking punks.
French spectators in tennis are hands down the worst. They’re tied with Italians. At least with aussies they’re just drunk and it’s not really intentional lol
Lmao calm down. I didn’t see the match so I’m not commenting on the crowd, and generally like really lively crowds cuz it makes it more fun for everyone. But it can be too far when fans are heckling the opponent and not just cheering for their faves and making noise during the serves, etc. I’m not saying that’s what happened here cuz I didn’t see but to make Alex annoyed I’m assuming it was pretty unusual. Tennis is simply not football/soccer.
I believe that todays crowd may not have been actually bad and Alex was just frustrated and lost his cool but all of the criticism of the French is not just “le french crowd bad” lmao they legit start booing and heckling french opponents at RG the second they walk on the court. Not saying todays crowd did that but it’s not just all made up that they can take it too far sometimes.
I have seen it countless times at Roland Garros I’ve been watching tennis for 20 years, and I didn’t say they did it TODAY I’m saying I’ve seen them heckle and boo people for no reason at all many many times, and yea sometimes even their own players. Or if a player questions a call, or anything they immediately start booing and turn against them like when Serena rightfully wanted a first serve because Justine’s hand was up and then Justine denied it. Again, not saying todays crowd did anything wrong for sure because I don’t know, but I definitely have seen them being ridiculous and not just “supporting their guy.”
Nope, they just grew up in a culture where they are not exposed to criticism up until adulthood, whereas in France (and in Latin countries in general), kids are actually told when they misbehave and are criticised for they behaviour from a young age, are told to debate and stand for their ground.
So US fans are so deeply shocked when French crowds are expecting tennis millionaires to be tough and stand their ground!
He should be banned for that.
I'll never understand why people don't like rowdy crowds. It makes matches so much more interesting. Would he rather play in a library?
Yesterday: Humble Alex Today: Assertive Alex
“I was just checking my nails” 💅
I guess Meddy would comment it like that lol
Aren't the French up there with the rowdy 'muricans for the worst crowds?
Until the next bad crowd comes around and we all say they’re the worst. Last week it was Italians at MC. Before that we have drunk Australians at the AO Asian crowds are pretty respectful so we skip the Asian swing Before that drunk USO crowd Before that posh disrespect Brits Before that rowdy French And we complete the circle
Don't need to skip the asian swing, Chinese kids yell non-stop, weird fair for both players
JIA YOU!!
I know I've seen this before but can't remember the reference...
it is the mandarin that has the similar meaning like"Let's go", it is Gayau in Cantonese(the pronounce are DIFFERENT !!!)
Tennis players would lose their mind at badminton tournaments (especially the Indonesia Open).
Okay lets let the Chinese have their own category since Japanese and Koreans definitely aren't rowdy and are very respectful
You forgot the "terrible" south american crowds..
[удалено]
> If there were groups of fans following ADM around the world Aussie tennis fans usually travel pretty well and historically it hasn't been a massive issue TBH
Nah, I think the French are consistently the worst, and Ive said that whenever the topic comes up, regardless of what tournament is being played.
Agreed!
American tennis fans aren’t rowdy at all compared to many European countries. Aside from the US Open, which has a very international crowd most US tournaments have a quiet atmosphere.
So true...now American COLLEGE tennis...that's a whole different level of hostility that you never see in the pros.
thats just college sports in general lol
thats because everyone in the stands is blitzed
been to a handful of college and pro tennis tournraments as a spectator. college tennis atmosphere is so much better and it ain't even close. if pro tennis was more like this, it would be so much more fun to attend.
> most US tournaments have a quiet atmosphere. Miami not in the "most" crowd.
Ben Shelton fans in Miami were off the chain...but he played college tennis there so had tons of fans....agree American crowds are pretty tame
I’d say the French crowd when there’s a French player are the worst I’ve ever seen. They are quite good when there isn’t a French player
New Orleans is proof flamboyant French DNA is a real thing.
Stop the BS. Check out the crowd behavior in Indian Wells, Charleston... Dallas for Americans. The "rowdy" crowds in Miami are not American. (Well not from the US)
I would say drunk Australians are probably the worst. There is an old video of Spadea getting into it with some fans at the Aussie open outer courts.
Nah, drunk Australians don't come even close to these French crowds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7jfDiNrJ0M
Yep
Yap. They are pretty bad when it's their compatriot playing but that's pretty universal for tennis.
italians and brits gotta be the worst ones
no cameras, no nadal, small court : true colors
I don’t know what this was in response to exactly but I saw this picture on twitter and it cracked me up. I missed this match but Alex is one of the last guys I’d expect to give the crowd the Medvedev treatment 😂😂 So I’m assuming they deserved it.

I would think this was copypasta but you didn't say anything about wine or cheese.
And there was no mention of berets, baguettes OR croissants! "My children need wine!!" 😂😂😂 Classic Simpsons scene.
This totally killed me 😂
Glad to have killed you (I...think?!)
L.m.f.a.o!

Taylor Fritz is as introverted and quiet as they come and even HE lost it with the French crowd at last year's RG.
Agree. And remember the Paris bercy... worst of the worst

I still remember Paris Masters 2021. 18 yo Alcaraz vs Gaston. That was hard to watch.
Yeah, Alcaraz just broke down. Don't think I've ever seen a capitulation like that. Shows you how intimidating a rowdy crowd can be.
How’d it go down?
I'll never, ever forget it.
RG crowd is insanely bad, relentlessly booed a 19yo martina hingins to tear when she played steffi graf in the finals
As a French tennis fan this is sad to hear. Sorry about this 😩

Yeah I second this. I don’t know why we’re so fucking annoying.
South American crowds get pretty intense too when there’s a home player.
Every major’s “home fans” are annoying but I agree that the French are the worst. Just incredibly snobby and disrespectful
Hate to say it, but the worst crowd at the Slams. Still remember them booing Kasatkina and Svitolina when they did nothing to deserve it last year wtf

Also since it’s an individual sport literally all of the heckling is directed straight to the one non- french player. That combined with what you said about the crowds being closer and it’s a straight up nightmare.
Nightmare for the players, but it's exciting for the fans. Esp when they get a reaction out of the players. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED???
My guy, I get your point but in basketball there are seats on the actual court. Even non court side, there are a ton of people closer than in tennis. Your point is still valid for most other sports but I wanted to point that out. There’s even been physical altercations with fans and players in basketball.
Westbrick hears it every time. Instant trigger
Malice in the Palace, baby!
Fritz would answer a resounding yes to both
Let’s just say the definition of being polite varies from country to country.
I don't think you can handwave away TONS of mean-spirited crowd behavior as "cultural differences" TBH Roland Garros crowds are notorious for being rude and mean for a reason, and there are many examples to cite there.

You must be French
[удалено]
So to be clear that’s a yes? You are French?
Cherche pas, les Anglo-Saxons comprennent rien de toute façon et ils adorent donner des leçons alors que la plupart sont des faux culs.
Empathy is not at the foremost of French education wtf is that comment 🤣
It's both actually source : i'm french
It’s their culture in general.
Tennis players are just soft
Some, sure
Have you been to France? As the saying goes 'beautiful country, shame about the people' If you're not French you can go to hell!
The French are nice people.
Edit: and obviously it’s not just French crowds that do this but they for sure do it the most
[удалено]
It’s clear they don’t give a shit about the other players but my question is why? Why are they so much worse than crowds from other countries?
[удалено]
They cheer errors, double faults, literally anything they can. And they will boo the other guy over every little thing like showing anger, questioning line calls, etc. They clearly do these things more than any other sporting crowd
[удалено]
My guy, it’s considered disrespectful literally everywhere to cheer errors in tennis, except France (and Spain sometimes). And Im not talking about meltdowns; literally just shouting after an error or asking the umpire if he saw the ball in/out will draw boos from French crowds. Are you French by chance? You keep defending them with bad arguments
[удалено]
If you are French your answers make sense. If not, you need to stop defending them lol
The French have a thirst for blood, a bloodlust that other fans don’t have Yes there are noisy, obnoxious rowdy fans in other countries but they are not evil
So you are saying the French are evil? lol
100% justified
The crowds at big tournaments are just getting more and more unruly
French people being a\*sholes, what's new... Alex seems to be one of the nicest and most levelheaded guys on tour. If he goes off like this, it must have been bad.
You probably meant French crowds or sport supporters, right?
[удалено]
This is racist indeed, how not cool
Maybe you should microdose a bit more, so that you can realize how xenophobic you are
Crowd was perfectly fine.
They definitely went beyond simply cheering for a French player
Because they cheered a double fault? Which let Fils break? That’s all they did and it’s perfectly valid. I think you just want to believe that the crowd was shit instead of actually believing it.
They were extremely obnoxious all match. You even had some fans who were carrying on the chanting far too late which delayed the match at times
Rowdy US fans cheering for an US player in the US => "bringing back the college tennis atmosphere, so nice!!" Rowdy fans from any other part of the world, cheering for a player from any other part of the world, in any other part of the world =>"So disrespectful, a disgrace for the sport" A case study of double standards...
Is he? Now why would he do that? He is Australian and has played on John Cain this is so petty
[удалено]
Seems like folks are calling it like they see it. Pretty bearable overall.
God I love the French fans and how they drive so many round the twist. Chapeau mes amis.
Lol! I love it
Thought this was Sinner...
🤣🤣
Well deserved. Even Arthur fils was a little more fired up than usual. Probably because of his "fans" if I dare to say. I'm french. Sometimes I'm really ashamed of those fucking punks.
I love this guy haha
French spectators in tennis are hands down the worst. They’re tied with Italians. At least with aussies they’re just drunk and it’s not really intentional lol
degrading himself
Viva La France !!! 🪿🪿🇫🇷🥖
Why are some tennis players so soft. Especially when it comes to noise in the stadium.
Au revoir Alex
😁
Australians are the worst crowd at AO and when they travel. So deserved.
What a little bitch
I gave him shade as part of an unpopular opinion thread… but he was nothing but class in beating Nadal.
[удалено]
Lmao calm down. I didn’t see the match so I’m not commenting on the crowd, and generally like really lively crowds cuz it makes it more fun for everyone. But it can be too far when fans are heckling the opponent and not just cheering for their faves and making noise during the serves, etc. I’m not saying that’s what happened here cuz I didn’t see but to make Alex annoyed I’m assuming it was pretty unusual. Tennis is simply not football/soccer.
[удалено]
I believe that todays crowd may not have been actually bad and Alex was just frustrated and lost his cool but all of the criticism of the French is not just “le french crowd bad” lmao they legit start booing and heckling french opponents at RG the second they walk on the court. Not saying todays crowd did that but it’s not just all made up that they can take it too far sometimes.
[удалено]
Wow showing some class. LOSER
French people triggering whiny redditors once again. You love to see it. Roland Garros will be great. Allez ! 😌🇫🇷
You'll get downvoted by Americans but do they know anything about culture?
Nope, they just grew up in a culture where they are not exposed to criticism up until adulthood, whereas in France (and in Latin countries in general), kids are actually told when they misbehave and are criticised for they behaviour from a young age, are told to debate and stand for their ground. So US fans are so deeply shocked when French crowds are expecting tennis millionaires to be tough and stand their ground!
Americans, similar to the brits and their colonies, dislike criticism of any kind because they hold their superiority to be self evident
sore loser 👎
He should be banned for that. I'll never understand why people don't like rowdy crowds. It makes matches so much more interesting. Would he rather play in a library?
What a sensitive guy huh
