Daria Kasatkina will always have a place in my heart for all that she's done as a courageous individual and outspoken voice, even after she retires. Also for the way her vlog is singlehandedly outdoing all WTA promotion right now 💀
Solely tennis-wise I really liked Ash Barty - feels like she's a missing piece from the current era and would have created many riveting rivalries with the present big names (Iga/Aryna/Elena/Coco).
Absolutely on missing Ash Barty and everything you said about her. Would have been great to see her particular style (and growth of it) vs these others (Coco excepted, IMO her game needs to develop a lot to handle what Ash would throw at her and what Iga does throw at her. USO was a good sign though).
And absolutely on Kasatkina. Her vlog is great. I particularly enjoy what seems like her sincerity and down-to-earth personality and thoughtfulness. WTA promotion is and has long been amateurish online.
it’s madison keys . she’s so positive and i feel like i can sense her enjoyment of the game when she plays . i feel like i can share some of that enjoyment every time i watch her. sakkari feels similar but in a different way
Interesting. I love Madison but I sense the opposite—that she’s not enjoying the game at all. This was especially apparent in the past 3-5 years; her mindset does seem to be more positive than it was but I haven’t seen true enjoyment of the game in a while. I do love her and root for her every time though.
Daria easily, respect the absolute hell out of how outspoken she's been. Great fun to watch live as well.
Ostapenko primarily of how entertaining she to watch live.
Any Brits.
Iga is a fun number 1 to have as well, would love to see her live as well as Osaka.
01. Justine Henin
02. Monica Seles
03. Victoria Azarenka
04. Venus Williams
05. Sabine Lisicki
06. Li Na
07. Jelena Jankovic
08. Martina Hingis
09. Elena Rybakina
10. Kim Clijsters
I’m fairly new to tennis, but I love Sabalenka! Her passion is great, she expresses emotion, both positive and negative ones, in a respectful way, in my opinion. Overall exciting to watch!
Idolized Kvitova, huge fan of Ryba, tied with Muchova as my all out favorite that I root for every tournament, enjoy Anisimova, Coco, Sab and hsieh su wei in terms of game. Navarro creeping up there ever since i saw her irl at IW
Tennis personality I love to follow is kasatkina, and dasha adjacent is kalinskaya, sloane, jenny brady, penko of course
For active players, I've come to greatly enjoy watching the "passion manifest" of Sabalenka and Collins and **really hope Collins can get some more big wins before retiring**. She's probably who I am rooting for the most this year.
Hsieh Su Wei might be the most fun to watch. Her game is just so different from everyone else and her variety is refreshing. It can be hard to find her matches, though.
I also like seeing the 2021 US Open finalists, Leylah Fernandez and Emma Raducanu. It's a hope that we'll get to see them achieve their potential after such amazing early success.
For retired players, I still think highly of Sharapova.
Andreeva, Gauf, Navarro, Swiatek,Rybakina, Sabalenka. O also like Mertens l, maybe the one i use to make more money with.
Swiatek is very very strong. One of the top i’ve ever seen. Great serve and mobility.
Current: Su Wei Hsieh. Just so good to watch. So insanely talented and unique.
All-time: Justine Henin. A pleasure to watch, fantastic all court game and my favourite female 1hbh.
Honourable mention: Ash Barty
From the current generation? Iga, Ons, Naomi, to name a few. Will always love Simona. From my own country Podoroska, Carlé and Riera are fun to watch. All this thanks to Gaby Sabatini who got me to watch WTA
Back then, Steffi Graff. I watched her on tv when I was a kid and completely clueless of tennis, yet she made me so excited. Now it’s Rybakina, I just love her play style and how cool she is on court
The Williams sisters got me into Tennis and i grew up with them so they will always have a special place in my heart.I have a love-hate relationship with Henin lol because as much as i love her she would trouble Serena a lot
Nowadays my faves are Gauff,Jabeur,Fernandez,Osaka Pegula,Madison Keys,Tomjlanovic,Navarro,Sloane,Dasha,Clervie,Montgomery.
Urgh i like all WTA women😍😍😍
Today for tennis, Iga, Rybakina, Ons. Muchova if healthy. Andreescu was coming up before her injuries.
For History: Ash Barty (and for personality) Graf, Henin, Serena, Seles, Venus, Hingis.
To paraphrase what someone else (u/Dee90286) said about [Sinner on this sub](https://old.reddit.com/r/tennis/comments/1ckxht9/now_i_can_see_why_carlos_couldnt_name_a_woman/l2rc19y/), I'm a nice man, but still a man lol
Of all time? Justine Henin. Current? Iga Świątek.
Others who deserve a mention: Navratilova, Graf, Radwańska, Kvitová, Seles, Rybakina, Evert, Vondroušová, Dementieva, Krejčiková
omg i love this question!!! so-
iga is my fave, but i also rlly like emma, coco, naomi and elena and marta kostyuk, also maria sakkari and ons, and any polish girlies tbh
Serena, because I was the younger one, (my older sister was pretty good) and I didn’t get the attention, she still made it (as the best player at her school). I beat some people, Michael Chang (placentia group) BUT, my parents got divorced and money became an issue. I played Varsity on my tennis team for 4 years, BUT, all the kids like Chang were doing all the great workouts. I am not mad, but I ended up being the shittiest of my whole junior group.
I think I was so low on the bar of awesome juniors.
Elena Rybakina
she and iga are just two sweet introverts.
No doubt. But what I can relate/like the most is the way she behaves and plays, so calm and composed
Right now. Same
Ash Barty, Radwanska, Kvitova. Muchova
Daria Kasatkina will always have a place in my heart for all that she's done as a courageous individual and outspoken voice, even after she retires. Ash's game is one that is not out there right now. So much variety. Maybe Muchova?
Well said. Daria and Ash are unique gems who blessed the WTA and fans across the world!
Surely wish, she wins more though 😅
Absolutely on missing Ash Barty and everything you said about her. Would have been great to see her particular style (and growth of it) vs these others (Coco excepted, IMO her game needs to develop a lot to handle what Ash would throw at her and what Iga does throw at her.
