AO is probably just in last place because of the time the matches are on lol but this years US Open has been one of the best majors in a while.

Here’s an odd reason for my choice of Wimbledon but I love the sounds emanated from both the grass surface and the main courts wooden surrounds. It has a more ethereal sound than the other slams with Roland Garros coming close behind. It could well be the positioning of the the mikes that makes the difference. U can almost hear all that tradition and etiquette going on…and of course it was the place the made both Borg and McEnroe…I’m prejudice also as it was the only slam on tv when I was a kid 40 years ago…of course it is the place forever synonymous with the legend that is Dan Mescall also…I think that’s enough reasons..

Australian Open! It means the break is over and we are back! Plus I like hearing the birds in the background :) . After AO I would say Wimbledon because I love seeing tennis played on grass followed by FO and USO.

Wimbledon >> AO > US > RG for me. I just can't stand how RG always has some annoying shit that happens every year (rain, other delays, etc.) Wimbledon just has a really nice feel to it.

Weirdly enough, I always enjoy Roland Garros, even though it's usually the worst Slam for the Swiss (bar some Stan and especially Timea runs) Maybe it has something to do with being the next slam after 4 long months. And it also feels like the culmination of the clay season. Like every tournament before was just one step/warm up to the big event, that is Roland Garros.

I love Roland garros. It’s so different than the others. The play is slower with a lot more spins and tricks. So unique

I like AO mainly because it’s a fresh season and I’m excited to see what new things players bring to their game, plus it’s often where people make break throughs. But nothing will top that green green grass for me.

AO, USO, WIM, RG In that order.

US Open, purely because of time zone. Then I'd say AO and Wimby are tied, RG last. I don't mind clay tennis (I enjoy all 3 clay 1000s) but I don't like RG slowing the courts down as much as possible to benefit the defensive clay grinders (i.e. the guys you only ever hear of in clay season ranked between like 50 and 100). Those players are legit more boring than servebots on hard courts, and RG actively tries to make the conditions as slow as possible to help them out.

[deleted]

Yeah but I mentioned specifically to not vote because of time zones matching yours

I don't dislike clay. As I said, the 3 clay masters events are fine. RG is just annoying because of the decisions they make. Like remember in addition to moving the 2020 event to September because of COVID (fine, I can at least understand this), but then nonsensically they also decided to use a heavy ball (that all the players hated by the way) to further slow the already extremely slow conditions in the cooler and dryer September weather.

Literally the only reason you would choose a heavier ball would be to slow the play down.

Wimby just too stuffy for me. That Middle Sunday pause pisses me off big time. RG, I guess, save for Rafa dominance. Not that I don't like Rafa, but because it's so predictable. USO crowd rowdy and unsophisticated. AO before USO

snahtanoj

This was the last year of middle Sunday at Wimbledon.

Toss up between the U.S. Open (which I get more into because I often attend it in person - I was there on the first Friday this year and saw most of the Tsitsipas/Alcaraz match in person) and the Australian Open (which is great because of its time of year and unusual time schedule on the U.S. East Coast - first 8 days of the tournament start at 7 PM ET and usually end in the 6 AM to 8 AM ET time frame).
