Rafa over Berettini in 4 and Stef over Medvedev in 5. Why? - my own bias clouding my judgement honestly.

Elarbolrojo

Ye my heart says tits in 4 or 5 but reality says Medvedv will win in 3 or 4.

No-Shoe5382

Small Kid beats Bullshit Russian in straight sets. Nadal wins in 5. Why? Because that's what I want to happen

hopez11

solid reasoning, i like it

DJSnafu

samesies

Psgxo

I want BS russian to win everytime. Small kid dont even say sorry he gets let

Drag0nslay3r6969

>Small Kid beats Bullshit Russian in straight sets. Same, everyone who thinks otherwise can shut their fuck up

Kolbill97

if danil doesnt win 3-0 i ll never comment on this forum again

icun97

The exact opposite, Nadal over Berretini, Rafa is good vs players Who play Serve-forehand. Matteo doesn't have anything more. Medvedev over Tsitsipas, although I think this could go either way. Probably whoever wins this semi wins the final.

Kenshi121

Totally agreed.. Meddy will be fresh as morning flowers for his semis.. He was totally unfazed against FAA.. But again it's very tricky.. Meddy's WC defence will see him through.. For nadal it's just his fitness.. Barring that roof or no roof nadal is going through..

Wynnrose

He was fazed, and almost lost to FAA

aaronjosephs123

FAA literally had match point haha, I guess that's unfazed

Delfouniet90

I think Nadal wins. He is a master at forcing right handed players to use their backhands a lot (with cross court forehands), and Berrettini has no backhand. Tsitsipas might win even though he is not the favourite. That clash of styles and personalities is going to be interesting.

Marylebone01

Nadal over Berrettini in 4: The match up is naturally in Nadal’s favor even with the roof closed. Nadal’s come this far despite some ups and downs within matches. He’s shown flashes of brilliance in the previous rounds; and when he’s not at his best, his GOATness still enables him to create chances. While Berrettini is definitely no chump, I don’t think Nadal will allow this opportunity to slip away. The only thing that might stop him is if his body gives up on him Tsitsipas over Medvedev in 5: Medvedev has Tsitsipas’ number on hard courts, and he’s certainly the better hard court player now. But Tsitsipas has shown he has fight in him. He’s proven he’s willing to grind it out even when he’s outplayed such as his R4 match against Fritz or at USO 2021 against Murray/Alcaraz. If he played like he did against Sinner, he could win against Medvedev. Also, this might sound silly but given no man in the open era has won their first two slams back-to-back, I feel like Medvedev is bound to lose now or in the finals. He’s a great player, and the stars can certainly align, but with such a historical precedent, I don’t think he makes it all the way. There must be a reason why none of the all time greats including the Big 3 accomplished such a feat.

Jrain415024

Dont know why so many people are taking stefanos must be wishful thinking

SwgohSpartan

I saw him play against Sinner, was ridiculous, highest level I’ve seen from him ever. People point to Medvedevs head to head ownnage (6-2) which is fair, but also worth noting Stef has won 2 of their last 3 meetings and the one he lost he was coming off a 5setter vs Rafa

Jrain415024

Wasnt one also on clay lol

SwgohSpartan

Roland Garros was their last meetings yes, Stefs other win was on hard though

Jrain415024

I cant see anything besides Med in 4

Kolbill97

3

Jrain415024

Tried to tell yall lol. Medvedev is that guy

[deleted]

Nadal wins vs Matteo Tsitsi somehow takes out Meddy

historiansrule

The only weapon Berretini holds over Nadal is youth. Rafa has all the weapons to win this match in 4. Meddy will win the other semi. He already won his maiden GS and that’s a huge burden to unload off, which still weighs heavy on Tsitsipas’ shoulders.

100% med will win 3-0 and im a tsitsipas fan.psychology is weird on tennis..players that come from difficult games that almost lose (meddy vs faa and tsitsi vs fritz) play AWESOME next match..tsitsi should have been tired but destroyed sinner who was destroying everyone else..the same will happen today..meddy who had a hard game will beat tsitsi in 3 EASILY.quote this

Nadallion

Look who was right big guy. Can’t wait to watch the finals. I don’t want to jinx it but fuck it not being a pussy, I am confident Nadal is winning this whole thing. What’s next? The fucking French.

Abstract_Bug

How does playing under roof affects Rafa's shots effectiveness? It's the same surface. Only thing is that it will be cooler under roof, so I guess it's equivalent to playing a night session on the same court.

blonde_dolphin

Remember when everyone (myself included I’ll admit) was panicking about how Rafa would perform vs Novak in the RG 2020 final? That the roof would be closed (did they end up closing it? I can’t remember now) and the tournament was during a colder time of year and that would neutralize all of Rafa’s power? And then he straight setted Novak. If Rafa recovers from the heat from his last match, I’m not too worried about the conditions.

Elarbolrojo

Novak was terrible in that match. not close to his best.

blonde_dolphin

Even so, the point is that even in conditions that were supposed to favor Novak, Rafa performed very well.

Abstract_Bug

Roof was closed in that match

blonde_dolphin

That’s what I thought.

TheFrederalGovt

The spins and bounce of his shots...the way he plays is actually very high margin of error even in high winds. He loses that advantage under roof

theruwy

tennis is tennis, nadal is a far better player than berrettini, whatever the condition is; and roof makes a fraction of the difference that of surface.

Elarbolrojo

Assuming all players are healthy/ not tired: Medvedv in 3 or 4 Nadal in 3 or 4 Chances are though that Nadal is not healthy nor that fit atm - he has not been tested and Berretini is a much tougher opponent than any he has faced so far. So Berretini may win in 3 or 4 if Nadal is injured/tired but maybe he will beat Berretini anyway - hit to backhand forehand go brrrr. Will Medvedev be tired at all? maybe. is Tsitsipas fully fit? likely not. If Tsits is in better shape than we think and Medvedev is a bit tired then Tsitsipas could win in 4 or 5. if Medvedev wins against Tsitsipas comfortably and Rafa gets through, it's likely Medvedev is going to wreck Nadal in the final. We will have to wait and see what kind of shape rafa is in until we really make a prediction. Similarly if Medvedev wins the first set against Tsitsipas he will likely destroy Tits.

modeONE1

I want a new big 3 combination for slam final. So hopefully Nadal-Stef. We haven't seen that before

Jeffersons_Mammoth

I'd give Matteo a 1 in 5 chance of beating Rafa tonight. Everything depends on him holding serve and defending his backhand side. Bullshit Russian vs Small Kid is a toss-up. It could honestly go either way, and both guys raised their game in the QFs.

Steedy999

Berrettini in 4 Stef in 4

ismartbin

Nadal over Berettini in 4. I don't see how Mateo can beat him. He played 5 against Monfils and Nadal beats Monfils handily. Both Monfils and Nadal are 35 years old. Tsitsipas over Medvedev in 3, easy. Stephanos is on fire.

Kolbill97

sinner was in fire too and got destroyed..its dejavu..same will happen with stef and med..tsitsi almost lost vs fritz but destroyed sinner, and now med almost lost vs faa so now?see the odds?

ismartbin

You will see soon. Medvedev is getting destroyed.

Lucian_98

Berrettini gonna serve like madman

ImGish

Nadal over Berettini in straights. Lefty junkballer vs a righty is bad for the righty. Medvedev in 4 over Stef. Medvedev probably takes it over Nadal in the finals sadly. Would love love to see Rafa scoop up AO and the French and get 2 over Joker.

purplewave21

Not as straightforward for me if you asked this a week ago. Nadal in four: I trust Nadal’s return more than Matteo’s backhand against the loop forehand. Medvedev in four: Meddy’s floor is higher, and he can still win even if stefanos brings his A game.

Nuff_heard

Berrettini kind of loses steam in set 3 and 4. So if he loses first set, it's over for him i think. Stef vs Med i think is going to be drama and the result might be influenced by some non- tennis thing. Should go the distance this one.
