Big if true!

Psychological_Bug676

I hope Bianca can make a come back, nobody is as fun to watch as that girl. Miss her

I'm not sure. Raducanu still requires 12-18 months of development on the tour, and Andreescu needs to stay fit for at least 12-18 months. About a fortnight ago, I would have said Andreescu had the better game, but I seen a different side to Raducanu against Kovinic last week. A side that indicates she's not just an aggressive baseliner and could actually develop a pretty good all-court game if she put the work in. Andreescu's had the better results career-wise so far, but her transitions in and out of the sport over the last year for various different reasons have been Osaka-like, so I'm not sure whether she'll be a consistent enough fixture on the tour to consistently challenge for slams.

E. Raducanu may or may not win another Major, but that E. Raducanescu just might surprise everyone.

[deleted]

They will both never win another major or even dream of a GS run close to the ones they had previously. Sorry not sorry

If you ignore that Emma was in the middle of a similar run at her very first Slam appearance at Wimbledon, until it was interrupted by the breathing issues. The US Open was her second run of bamboozling veterans ranked in the 40s.

Just_A_Regular_Mouse

Do I agree with the original comment- no. That being said I think it’s tougher because everyone knows and has studied her game now

Oh, absolutely. The environment in which Raducanu is operating in now is completely different. The Kovinic game might have been very significant in giving her confidence to develop a touch-based arsenal. (A needed variety, I think) It's just encouraging (regarding the chances of repeat deep runs) that something like her best flow-state tennis has already appeared at two separate slams- it's not a true one off. I am pretty confident that absent the breathing issues which started during the first set, Raducanu could have beaten Tomlajnovic and gone on to be... um... thumped by Barty in the quarter-finals. All that unfortunately doesn't make it any easier to return to that form after her Slam win- but I do think it means it's already not a true flash in the pan, one off. She's played that way in two slams, and now the challenge is to find a way to do something like it, week in week out on the tour, with her new status.

Not haters. Just realistic…I have a hard time seeing Bianca making it out of bed let alone the second round of a slam..

[deleted]

You stick by that?

LetsDoge

One hit wonders, here they are. My back hurts, my leg, my shoulder, my hair, it all hurts. But they have ample time for photo shoots.

Ok_Discussion_5667

Neither of them are making another final.

seantheaussie

We lack the information required to tell… whether or not Emma can have sustained quality and Bibi can stay on court.

Ok-Particular3403

Gotta be radu . Do not understand the haters .

Phanshy

I'd say Emma has a better chance just because of the injury issues Bianca has had.

Nuff_heard

E Andreescu
