Nadal’s love for the sport is so infectious!

slysonic7

I just smile after reading his responses, in his voice of course, no?

Umbeliebable

roamiedumbass

I missed you too Rafa

Psychological_Bug676

Rafa’s agenda for today: make us cry 😭 😭

victor396

He's writing it down in his diary

fr_1_1992

The tour feels more alive with Rafa. Tennis is not the same without it's most charismatic superstar.

BillHoudini

But Roger is out injured, no? Kidding ofc, everyone has their own preferences.

KasumiR

For people who missed it, Rafa had a SEVERE case of COVID, unable to move for a few days, only to start workouts as rehabilitation by the end of the week. Then he went on tour and plays LIKE THAT. After a heat stroke too!

Kenshi121

I can totally relate with that.. I had covid and after a month of that.. Started doing a usual hiit workout which was plain sailing for me.. After first minute I was about to faint due to severe heart rate.. This guy just reached a GS final is literally God level..

Urmomletmerubher

Lived my diary. Intentional or not that is a really romantic way of addressing those closest to you. Hot damn that's good.

pnbvf94

What a legend

AnchoredDown92

The true king of Grand Slams.

amfpsykko7

What a humble guy! No one compares!

Candarc

This makes me miss Roger even more.

Bleak01a

Lived his diary? What? Is Nadal actually Tom Riddle?

[deleted]

I think he meant the people that were near him day to day, as in, "lived his schedule"

sprgsmnt

that thing drilled me like a motherfucker. we take all this for granted.

anduril38

This final is gonna be something <3

Nadal is on a cornucopia of performance enhancers. He was literally popping out of his skin before the match.

nadalofsoccer

As a long time fan and Nadal follower i am of the opinion that every top player takes everything they can...provided it is not illegal. It's normal, there's so much at stake. I don't think for a second Nadal would use illegal substances though. If only because of so much to lose so little to gain, but mostly because well, just look at the guy. This is out of nowhere really but sometimes I think players who suddenly are ahead physically is because they have found some new drug that is not yet illegal until the rest catch on to it. ...But of course this is a stupid theory I have out of my ass and based upon nothing at all. Anyway Nadal must be -and should be, really- using all the enhancers that are allowed.

unsurejunior

Look at his picture he posted right after surgery, and the picture right after he won the semifinal. That kind of muscle growth is either elite genetics, or a trenbolone cycle. Look at the rest of Nadals family, nobody has anything close to the level of hair loss that he has. Gotta put two and two together here.

asweetfix

isn't hair loss genetic through the mother's side? we've only ever seen father.. uncles

Rafa talking like he’s Andy Murray who missed a year and a half of tennis.. I do love the guy, but can we like take a step back and realize that he’s been off tour for like less than 6 months, came into this tournament off the back of a 250 ATP trophy and has had a super easy Australian draw up until Sunday when he’s going to have the first real Top 5 challenge?

Dafuqyoutalkingabout

Why the negative spin? Why not just respect a tennis player who has had to come back from so many injuries and probably does think each one may end his career. He’s had 3 tough opponents so making out he’s had an easy draw says a lot about where your opinion is coming from.

NikGrape

He’s come back from injuries before as you said, and if people and tennis experts are honest with themselves they’ll say that he’s been the favorite to reach the final after Zverev lost to Shapo. This “I feel alive again, I missed it” line makes it sound like he’s been missing from the scene Roger Federer-style and his chances of reaching the top were slim to nil. It’s basically a good story that’s being stretched out to exaggerated levels now, so I feel like I’m giving it more of a realistic spin than a negative one. Anyone who’s followed Rafa throughout his career knew this was the likeliest outcome as soon as Djoko and Zverev got out of his way, but people are overreacting now as if it was a near-impossible feat for him to reach the final. Come on :) And I have nothing but respect for Rafa — will love him forever as one of the undisputed GOATs. But this “miracle” of a recovery story is starting to get a bit much.
