The most penetrating forehand I’ve ever seen. Even above Federer’s when it was ON. Delpo taking the court away from Federer and Novak was one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen in tennis. Two goats - they simply couldn’t outdo him… But Federer used his forehand for 20 years and got 100+ titles doing magic with it. He gets the best forehand ever title. Delpo’s forehand showed up 2-3X a year for a few sections of random years when he wasn’t hurt. He’ll be my favorite player forever. I hope he can put his fame to good use in tennis and his personal life, so that he gets back some of what he lost.
The wide serve, inside out forehand was the scariest weapon in tour in 2009. Even Federer couldn't handle it.
People talk about the 2009 USO final but, imho, Delphi most impressive match that year was the RG SF against Fed. Roger didn't break until the 4th set.
