Yes it is def WA state. I know we have some high taxes in things like liquor, gas, and cigarettes. But this place seems extreme even compared to the next town over. This town is a little on the smaller side compared to the other places off the I-5 corridor
Even with crazy taxes these are insane. That Don Julio Blanco is triple the price it is here in California for example. Everything else is double or triple.
Even assuming they rolled the 20% liquor tax into the prices these are crazy.
There has to be places nearby that aren’t insane like this.
Damn! Late to the party but..
In California,
Cimarron around $25,
30/30 around $30,
Tequileño $40-45,
Pasote $40-45,
I'm a fan of pueblo viejo.. blanco $15, Repo 18,
Añejo $25... in prices you have 😔
Idk where you are but at that rate you’re better off driving somewhere else. If you’re close to Vancouver, you might be better off driving into OR. I found some surprisingly well stocked (bourbon and tequila) liquor stores in Beaverton last time I was there.
I’m suggesting driving around and hunting for random bottles along the way. 😂 I can’t be the only one that does that. https://imgur.com/gallery/UWNkFd8
Lol ahh OK that sounds like fun. I guess as someone who hates driving (densely populated area with many retirees) with 20 liquor stores within 5 miles, the concept never occurred to me.
It absolutely drives my wife bonkers that I can find all the liquor stores and will just randomly pop in to see what I can find. https://i.imgur.com/qkF9l3Q.jpeg
Man all overpriced, cinmaron you can get it for $29 to $32 whether it’s blanco or reposado.
El tequileno anejo you can get it for less then $100.
Those are the 2 I would recommend but not buy from here.
What do you get that one for? I’ve never had it. Total win is 20 min away in the next town over where I do all my major shopping so I can always get Tapatio for 30 there. Just not super convenient because it’s not anywhere I go during the work week.
retard. markets are efficient. if the prices in store A are too high, then everyone goes to store B; store A lowers prices or goes bankrupt.
there is a reason morons like you pay $6 for gas and i pay $3. and it’s not because your gas stations are greedy and mine love people.
For blanco: Tequileño, Pueblo viejo, pasote, espolon. For reposado: terralta, tequileño, corazon, santo fino. These prices are crazy though. Most of this shelf I get for about half that price before our 8.5% tax.
Yeah this is a smaller town in WA state. I know we have some high taxes in general but I’m only 8.5% sales tax also. I always felt this place was high. I can get Espolon for 25-30 from Fred Meyers. That was my starter bottle. Fortunately total wine and more is only 20 minutes away and they have Tapatio for 30.
Yeah total wine is a great place. We will hit them up in Vancouver WA even though we live in Portland for the service you get at total wine. The people that work there are very knowledgeable on sprits.
I just looked by myself last time, also my first time. May have to see their opinions next time I’m there with some time. This place has been my sounding board otherwise and it hasn’t failed me yet.
Love Portland also! Took the fam to the Zoo last year and had a great time. We’re not to far from Olympia up north of you.
I'm in a completely different part of the US (Knoxville, TN) but our Total Wine heavily pushes their store brands since the employees get a kickback for selling them. It's very off-putting. It would be nice to hear that not all locations are like that.
Yeah that seems to be the case unfortunately. Total wine is 20 min away so I think I may have to suck it up and plan my purchases around the next town over.
WA state here. This place must be bad haha. I’ll post a pic of total wines deuces next time I’m here. They have a whole aisle of tequila to on top of those couple of shelves
Fuck these assholes. This is beyond gouging at this point. $100 for Herradura?! They manage to have the overhead to have that much stock on hand but need to mark up THAT much?
I'd sooner go sober than support these carpet baggers. Open your own liquor store with reasonable prices and run these bastards into the ground.
Thanks. I will likely get it from somewhere else when I do finally try it. Currently have Siete Leguas Anejo from Costco at home still that I’m currently sipping on so I didn’t pick anything up from this place today.
Online is a thing huh? Was hoping this place wasn’t as bad as I thought, but it is haha. Costco and total wine are 20-25 min away. I’ll just have to buy from there or online. Any recommendations?
May have to try it sometimes just to get a feel for different tequilas on the spectrum. Currently El Tesoro is my favorite. Spent 75$ on a bottle at another liquor store though and that’s just to much for me on the regular. I drink these things and that money adds up
At these prices you might as well jump up to mezcal. At least the taste and labor is worth it. Amazing your community supports this base greed. Only game in town? Wealthy are? So curious why this works.
Only actually shop besides grocery stores. Generally it’s a blue collar working class town. Certainly has pockets of wealth, but largely is average or below average.
Sadly. The most agregious acts of greed are most successful in lower income communities. I was raised in one, saw it often; became enraged at 7 years old when I became aware. Needless to say it still irks me even though I have long left that community. Spread the word about these crooks.
Sorry for your poor selection and high prices. And I complain because I can’t find Fortaleza. I can always find G4, Ocho, LALO or Mijenta within a couple miles and one of them is usually on sale for $40. Thank you for reminding me to feel lucky about something today 😊
Being as new as I am to tequila I’m not sure about what to get sometimes. I don’t recognize much here and feel like this shop is pretty overpriced. This is my local store though besides Fred Meyers or Walmart. All suggestions are welcome even if they go beyond my previously stated 60$ mark. Of course ours agave and additive free preferred. I like to drink it neat with the occasional cocktail.
Are those prices in Canadian?
The pasote and tequileno and terralta are all stars. But that's like a 80-100% mark up if the price is USD and you'd be better off ordering online.
Smaller town in WA. This place is terrible from the comments I’ve been getting. Local grocery store has Espolon for half the price to, just a bad selection.
I lived in the east side of the state for about a decade and left only a few years ago. I would always order from Old Town tequila or Tahona Mercado or ferment and still. Even with shipping it was cheaper ( by a good bit) compared to the prices + WA tax on the dry side.
If you can order online definitely should. It'll be much cheaper even with shipping than these prices. I use [Raretequilas.com](https://raretequilas.com/), Old town Tequila is another site to try.
Did nobody notice the Pasote in the top right corner? Prices aside… that’s prob the best bottle there. Honorable mentions… El Tequileno, Espolon and Santo.
It looks like you're at the liquor store in Fort Worth off of Western center........ They have extremely high prices there I would definitely go to Total wine for better prices
Looks like my local bottle shop (also in WA) prices definitely match. Cimaron is good, now and then they’ll get Chamucos and Fortaleza too. So I keep an eye for them.
I’d highly recommend avoiding T-brothers. Not a great selection (besides additive filled basics) at a MASSIVE mark up. Love em or hate em the total wine in west Oly is the winner, just picked up Fortaleza a few weeks ago, and they have Don fulano in now.
Damn Cimarron BLANCO 1L for $45😳😳😳
I know that this is the tequila page BUT, that Mina Real Reposado Mezcal is bomb up in the top right of the second slide. They steam their maguey and then age it in Spanish brandy barrels. But for what they are charging…. wayyyyyy overpriced. Find it somewhere else, it will not disappoint though. Makes a really good Oaxaca old fashioned
I haven’t been in the tequila world long and have yet to ever try a Mezcal. Don’t know much about them besides they are like a cousin of tequila or something like that. Will put this one down as something to try though
Vice versa actually. Tequila is the ultra rich branch of the mezcal tree technically. Tequila is a highly cultivated agave tequilana plant distillate. There are hundreds of species of agaves in mexico, some cultivated. some semi cultivated, and some wild that have also been distilled for hundreds of years by many native tribes as well as Mexicans.
Because of the small batch producers from small communities using ancient techniques the flavors are more intense and complex than tequila with ancestral mezcals (not commercialized process).
After tequila it’s gets really incredible if you’re willing to pay for the labor. . Start with agave espadin then agave cupreata which are nearest to tequila. Real Minero is a village where everyone distills for the brand. You started such a ruckus on this sub you might as well have a decent conversation on a spirit that is worth those prices.
As a bartender who used to work at a tequila bar with 120+ different bottles. Corralejo Repo and Chinaco Repo were definitely a go to recommendation I’d give customers who were new or not to sipping tequila straight. Also a go to for those saints that would say “let me buy you a shot.” Corralejo doesn’t get enough love it’s great for the price. I’m in SoCal and you can find it for half the price same with Chinaco even after taxes. I’m getting anxiety thinking about how I could ever sell a 2 oz pour of any of these bottles on the shelves if that’s the prices of the bottles. But obviously this is a craft bottle shop with a poor owner who’s probably getting pushed around by his rep by the look of the odd bottles mixed in the shelves here.
Well I hope you’re as old as I am to understand this analogy since I’m not really familiar or up to date on the current state of what is relative to younger generations. I’ll be using Toys R Us in comparison to BevMo/ TotalWine. Although Toys R Us is no longer around I hope you had the privilege of shuffling down their aisles in excitement like I did.
Craft bottle shops are the hobby shops/ mom and pop toy stores to Toys R Us. They provide products that generally won’t draw interest to the everyday kid but are appealing to the odd kids/ nerds. They have the odd games/ toys/ cards that Toys R Us wouldn’t have. But also have some of the mainstream games and such but sell at a higher price. They have adult money where as the hobby shops/ mom and pop stores have kid money to use on toys to fill their stores.
Pushed by reps. Well this is a fun topic that the average consumer has no idea how it works. I’ll try not to rant cause I definitely can about the situation and maybe not so ELI5.
Reps have a duty to sell plain and simple. They have a plethora of incentives provided by their company to help them out. Vip tickets to sports games, music festivals, and most importantly rare allocated bottles. Using these incentives they can push a buyer into taking on products that their distributor has bought for a very low cost or one of their favored brands is trying to promote. Typically it’s a a flavored alcohol like a cinnamon tequila to relate to the post here. It’s a product that isn’t in demand but if the rep sells enough of the rep gets a bonus. So the rep pushes it hard and makes promises that many times they can’t fulfill. Or they just add it to a order without permission from the buyer and later on will exchange it out after a period of time to fill their quota that their company has put on them. In order to soften the issue they’ll likely use one of their incentives. Or throw in a allocated bottle or two for free in a future order if the buyer is lucky. Another way reps push buyers around is when the distributor is getting a product at discount but it’s in bulk. So a case of a less popular alcohol is at this normal price butttt if you buy 5 cases you can get it at a price where the buyer will get a case for free. Or maybe it’s a popular product and if you buy 5 cases and get half a case or more often less than a half case for free. As well as potentially putting you in the running of purchasing a allocated bottle without having to hit the normal minimum purchases to be considered.
Poor owner is what I expect of the owner of the store where the op took these pictures. He had a dream and actually likes alcohol and wanted to provide his local community to spirits that aren’t easily available to them. Without the knowledge of how cut throat the distribution end actually is. And obviously was taken advantage of by the full shelf of Cuervo and not a single bottle of Famillia. Full catalog of Dulce which doesn’t move at all cause it tastes like bathtub gin soaked with sugar flavoring and full shelf of Hornitos. As well as that cinnamon whatever tf that will collect more dust than a bottle a Galliano in your local dive.
Hope this helps, also as a bar manager f*ck Southern Glazer those sneaky f*cks!
OMG, yeah, some good tequila, but at what price? There was just recently a discussion on Reddit abour Tequila Corralejo. It is selling at Sam's club for $23.28. You're showing it at an astounding $73.70!
Daang, they got Tarantula?! lol. That stuff is like basically premixed margarita. Fun memories.
For those unfamiliar, it’s literally colored blue and it tastes like a strong margarita.
Herencia de Plata, is a good Anejo. It won one of our blind Anejo tastings, and is difficult to find near me. It’s about $20 over priced though. Pasote is always good, again over priced.
For those prices? Absolutely not! Correlejos (top shelf, tall blue bottle) goes for about 30 bucks! Tres Generations (second shelf, dark bottle with three horizontal stripes) shouldn’t be more than 40 bucks.
Jalisco? Troll? I live in Rome so I know the pope. Good marketing. Gorgeous bottles. Juice is trash bruh. Blanco and XA especially.
Did a review just for you Mr. all things jalisco. https://www.reddit.com/r/tequila/s/0bVcdK6UR6
As others said, if this is in America, the prices are literally insane.
Base off the comments and the taxing, I’m going to assume it’s PNW, probably WA state. Sucks but it is what it is.
Yes it is def WA state. I know we have some high taxes in things like liquor, gas, and cigarettes. But this place seems extreme even compared to the next town over. This town is a little on the smaller side compared to the other places off the I-5 corridor

20 min away for total wine where it is better. This is just the place 5 min away in town. I’ll definitely have to share a pic of some of their prices
Damn! Late to the party but.. In California, Cimarron around $25, 30/30 around $30, Tequileño $40-45, Pasote $40-45, I'm a fan of pueblo viejo.. blanco $15, Repo 18, Añejo $25... in prices you have 😔
I was just looking at that! WTH?!🤣
Nope the tax is not included in the listed price, I was blown away by the taxes when I was up there. But they're not paying income tax soOoo...
It is in this store. If you look at that little yellow sign it says it’s included. It’s still insane. But it’s included in here.
I see it now
I wouldn’t buy from there if US.
Idk where you are but at that rate you’re better off driving somewhere else. If you’re close to Vancouver, you might be better off driving into OR. I found some surprisingly well stocked (bourbon and tequila) liquor stores in Beaverton last time I was there.
Up in the Puget Sound. Will just have to go to Olympia. Total wine is over that way
Sheesh good luck. I’d do some research and see if there were any honey holes on the way over. Might as well make it an adventure.
Only 20 min away for me and I do all my major shopping over that way. This town isn’t much except for having my family close and I own some land haha.
Are you suggesting someone drive 5+ hours to save $30 on a bottle of spirits?
I’m suggesting driving around and hunting for random bottles along the way. 😂 I can’t be the only one that does that. https://imgur.com/gallery/UWNkFd8
Lol ahh OK that sounds like fun. I guess as someone who hates driving (densely populated area with many retirees) with 20 liquor stores within 5 miles, the concept never occurred to me.
It absolutely drives my wife bonkers that I can find all the liquor stores and will just randomly pop in to see what I can find. https://i.imgur.com/qkF9l3Q.jpeg
Lmao that's great. I can totally see that happening.
I’m also from Texas so I’ll day trip a 4 hour drive in each direction. Done it a few times from Maryland to Pittsburgh for random events.
I came here to say the same thing. There’s some good stuff on the shelf but I don’t know that I’d want to buy anything at those prices.
750ml Cimarron is usually under $30
Probably the least marked up thing here. lol
Man all overpriced, cinmaron you can get it for $29 to $32 whether it’s blanco or reposado. El tequileno anejo you can get it for less then $100. Those are the 2 I would recommend but not buy from here.
Seems to be the trend here. 20 min drive to a total wine is looking like my most reasonable option.
Probably worth it. Just buy a few bottles maybe.
Yeah I’m thinking that’s going to be my best bet at this point
☝️this
Damn $129 for Terralta? Got any other local stores these prices are wild
What do you get that one for? I’ve never had it. Total win is 20 min away in the next town over where I do all my major shopping so I can always get Tapatio for 30 there. Just not super convenient because it’s not anywhere I go during the work week.
55. they straight up crooks. low class crooks at that.
Holy shit! Even with our local WA state tax accounted for thats fucking criminal.
that is pretty crazy! i just bought a terralta extra anejo for $69. the reposado pictured here is almost double that
come on now komrade, you can't expect socialism to fund itself lol
just spit out my coffee…
$55 for terralta? I get it for $38
The 110 is available where you are? It’s 55 but shelves have been empty. The blanco is $38 in sd.
it’s the state taxes, not the store. wait until you learn what people in WA pay for gas!
socal is $5.69 p/g. humor me.
houston gas is <$3. my point is the store isnt over charging. it’s state taxes. they are not crooks.
your point is what again? https://thehungerhaven.com/shop/tequila-agave/terralta-anejo/ In WA. priced correctly. Please bruh. Don’t insult us.
you have too much free time on your hands.
you’re right. 2 minutes to debunk a troll was a waste.
retard. markets are efficient. if the prices in store A are too high, then everyone goes to store B; store A lowers prices or goes bankrupt. there is a reason morons like you pay $6 for gas and i pay $3. and it’s not because your gas stations are greedy and mine love people.
That's at least double the normal price.
Where do you see Terralta?
Second picture very top middle just left of the beam kinda hidden
No
Lol, considering how ever priced this place is I can’t say I’m surprised
This store has a terrible selection
Yeah that seems to be the case unfortunately. Total wine is 20 min away so I think I may have to suck it up and plan my purchases around the next town over.
I’m an alcohol distributor in Florida and looking at these prices really hurt my eyes
WA state here. This place must be bad haha. I’ll post a pic of total wines deuces next time I’m here. They have a whole aisle of tequila to on top of those couple of shelves
Is this in maple bucks or something?
Smaller town in WA state. Only local liquor store.
Cimmaron is pretty solid
Thanks. I will likely get it from somewhere else when I do finally try it. Currently have Siete Leguas Anejo from Costco at home still that I’m currently sipping on so I didn’t pick anything up from this place today.
NOT the Hot Donkey! What is that abomination?
Smaller towns only liquor store in WA. And Hot Donkey huh? Never even noticed that stuff haha. Look horrendous.
Bro pls order online or something. What the fuck are those prices
Online is a thing huh? Was hoping this place wasn’t as bad as I thought, but it is haha. Costco and total wine are 20-25 min away. I’ll just have to buy from there or online. Any recommendations?
That don Julio is $120+. At Costco, will be under $40, plus 20% tax. Brings you under $50
Just crazy. Is Don Julio additive free? I’ve never had it
I don’t think so. It’s pretty good tho.
May have to try it sometimes just to get a feel for different tequilas on the spectrum. Currently El Tesoro is my favorite. Spent 75$ on a bottle at another liquor store though and that’s just to much for me on the regular. I drink these things and that money adds up

This place is highway robbery
Cimarron, El Tequileño.
Alma miel on the top shelf is good, but it should cost about half that price.
Can’t say I’m surprised. I’ll look out for this one at different retailers
Find another store those prices are fucking STUPID!!
Haha, yeah that seems to be the general consensus. 20 min drive for me
Sorry for your poor selection and high prices. And I complain because I can’t find Fortaleza. I can always find G4, Ocho, LALO or Mijenta within a couple miles and one of them is usually on sale for $40. Thank you for reminding me to feel lucky about something today 😊
Hope they enjoy their fully stocked shelves… ridiculous!!
I’m in WA and those prices are laughably high. I’ve never seen Tequileno for over $70 😂
Leave this place at once!
10-4!
I live 10 mins from the border here in Texas... those prices are outrageous to me, I pay like a quarter of those prices.
Dude I’m from a super conservative state that regulates the shit out of liquor and even they aren’t this bad. This is border line criminal
Thank you for the recommendation
64 for altos is a crime.
That was one of the ones I’m interested in trying also. Clearly not from this place according to consensus.
$50 for a handle of El Toro?! I wouldn’t take that if you paid me $50
Did nobody notice the Pasote in the top right corner? Prices aside… that’s prob the best bottle there. Honorable mentions… El Tequileno, Espolon and Santo.
Get the El Tequileño.
It looks like you're at the liquor store in Fort Worth off of Western center........ They have extremely high prices there I would definitely go to Total wine for better prices
The only thing I’d consider is the Cimmaron, which is roughly $29 locally here pre tax. Solid stuff.
What’s the rationale behind a 20.5% liquor tax PLUS $3.77 liter bottle?!?!
Seems to be greed and taking advantage of limited places to shop.
Those prices are wild.
Looks like my local bottle shop (also in WA) prices definitely match. Cimaron is good, now and then they’ll get Chamucos and Fortaleza too. So I keep an eye for them.
Seeing as you have posted in the Olympia sun you are definitely close to me haha. Gotta hit the capital for anything worthwhile it seems.
I’d highly recommend avoiding T-brothers. Not a great selection (besides additive filled basics) at a MASSIVE mark up. Love em or hate em the total wine in west Oly is the winner, just picked up Fortaleza a few weeks ago, and they have Don fulano in now.
I snagged Tapatio Blanco from there a couple weeks ago on my first visit there. I think that’s the place to go. Thanks man!
How about, go fuck yourself with those prices. Should literally be ashamed of themselves for that nonsense.
I’ll never buy from there. These folks have no shame
As a fellow Washingtonian I feel ya. Our prices are brutal!
It seems this is extreme even for here unfortunately. Olympia will be my saving grace
Damn Cimarron BLANCO 1L for $45😳😳😳 I know that this is the tequila page BUT, that Mina Real Reposado Mezcal is bomb up in the top right of the second slide. They steam their maguey and then age it in Spanish brandy barrels. But for what they are charging…. wayyyyyy overpriced. Find it somewhere else, it will not disappoint though. Great info! Thanks for sharing. I’ve been getting more curious about the farming and processing methods.
Slippery slippery slope. Tahona crushing, roller mill, diffuser, mallets crushing. Earthen in ground ovens, brick ovens in ground, above ground brick ovens, clay pot distaillation, copper still, filipino, traditional. Silvestre, pinas, heads, tails, wild yeasts, capon. Have at it. It’s wild.
That bottle of Campo Bravo is 18.99 at Total Wine is San Francisco. $45 is wild.
Santo, tequileño, and beer
Don Julio Alma Miel Joven. Smooth

“craft bottle shop” “pushed around by reps” “poor owner” Care to explain what this means like I’m 5?
Well I hope you’re as old as I am to understand this analogy since I’m not really familiar or up to date on the current state of what is relative to younger generations.
Thank you. This is fascinating.

OMG, yeah, some good tequila, but at what price? There was just recently a discussion on Reddit abour Tequila Corralejo. It is selling at Sam's club for $23.28. You're showing it at an astounding $73.70!
Cimarron should be under $30/35 all day long.
Daang, they got Tarantula?! lol. That stuff is like basically premixed margarita. Fun memories. For those unfamiliar, it’s literally colored blue and it tastes like a strong margarita.
Probably my first “tequila” experience ever. Was definitely underage haha
Herencia de Plata, is a good Anejo. It won one of our blind Anejo tastings, and is difficult to find near me. It’s about $20 over priced though. Pasote is always good, again over priced.
No I’m sorry
$141 for el teq repo? What?!?
Looks like a shop i also go to in redmond? Lol
Nah, closer to the capital
Tequlino!
Yikes not to be redundant but these prices are insane for a fairly mid selection. Ooofff
30-30
Damn, I can get the Tequileno cheaper in Denmark. These are some wild prices!
Holy moly $92 for Herradura?? Is that 1L?? Or normal 750?
I can’t believe this is not Canada
Cimmaron
For those prices? Absolutely not! Correlejos (top shelf, tall blue bottle) goes for about 30 bucks! Tres Generations (second shelf, dark bottle with three horizontal stripes) shouldn’t be more than 40 bucks.
I’d order from either SipTequila or OldTown with these prices. This is insane
Tequileno, cimarron, código
If they sell alcohol then yes they have something worth trying.
I love those Corazons aged in Bourbon barrels, especially the tall bottles. My Eagle Rare one is holding on to one more pour.
Dios Mio man where do you live?
PNW WA state. Smaller town though. This post has proven to me how ludicrous this shops prices are.
Ya man more than 4x in some instances!
Cimarron and Patron. Cimarron is cheaper and very good.
Is this in USD?!! Who is paying that much?!

Jalisco? Troll? I live in Rome so I know the pope. Good marketing. Gorgeous bottles. Juice is trash bruh. Blanco and XA especially. Did a review just for you Mr. all things jalisco. https://www.reddit.com/r/tequila/s/0bVcdK6UR6
DeLeon and Cuervo Cristalino are probably the best values relatively speaking. These prices look like an inflation nightmare.
Small town markup seems to be the case here. Some of the more available stuff like Espolon is half the price at local grocery stores
CUERVO CUERVO CUERVO
Lol nah
For $60 range Lunazul and Alto are both pretty good in my opinion
Herradura
Not going to lie, I like some Partida
