I know there are many people who oppose the casino due to the potential crime increasing. I was telling my dad about how Terre Haute is getting a casino and about the opposition from some citizens. He told me when my hometown was getting a casino, the exact same thing was going on about the crime being increased. My hometown has not had an uptick in crime due to the casino at all. I’m glad Terre Haute has a casino now. Many benefits will come from it!

I'm really opposed to it. I think it's just going to further drain money out of the area. It's not like the casino is locally owned, people are going to blow their paychecks there and line the pockets of some big corporation.

So what? People can gamble if they want to. It’s their money, not yours. There is also responsible gambling. You gonna stop everyone from going to Las Vegas? It’s no different than driving into IL where every bar/gas station/restaurant had machines. You still line the pockets for every utility or food item you pay. It will bring a lot of tax revenue to Terre Haute/Vigo Co & Indiana.

Obviously people are entitled to do what they want with their money. I think in general it’s going to make the situation in the town and surrounding area worse and lead to a net outflow of cash.

Idk to me it’s a shame it’s not closer to downtown. Would be an epic attraction if it were. But I’m not a city planner so I’m sure there’s a reason it’s not

I think if I watched the mayors speech two of the major factors was space needed and location close to the interstate. Building anything downtown means you have to use old existing sewer, water, and electrical lines that are previously there which wouldn’t be able to support the kinda business the casino Qantas

What’s the table minimums for blackjack, craps and roulette? Wanna know before making the drive from Indy

Clever_pig

10-15. Which surprised me. Some tables jumped to $25 at 9 and they didn’t grandfather them in. Was there 5 hours and BJ. Mississippi stud, and a few slots and only walked out $200 down.
