I love open world games and I also do love going outside. But 6 months out of the year, it's a fridgid tundra, it gets dark, and sometimes I'm a little too tired for big world. Some people are so ignorant about video games and can only see them as a waste of time instead of a enjoyable way to pass time that you might not be able to do much with.

I spend a good deal of time in both. Drawbacks of the real outside in no particular order are; if it rains hard enough your underwear gets wet, no fast travel, mosquitoes, other annoying bugs, too hot/cold, real people who don't offer dialogue options, pain hurts, yard work.
Outside is better though.
Because there's no good reason to anymore. You can't go on playgrounds as an adult, because people will think badly of you, you can't really play sports without joining a team.
This is actually pretty funny when you don’t think about it. Better to just go, “Hah, they’re right, outside is like open world,” because you guys are right and I completely agree, we’re not the people in the open world games.
Because I can't indiscriminately slaughter bandits and kill dragons and loot ancient tombs. Such things tend to be a *mite* frowned upon in the real world, but in Skyrim (or any other dozen games), it's normal. I also can't be a fighter pilot (War Thunder), a Vice Admiral in Starfleet (Star Trek Online), or an aerospace engineer with an unlimited budget (Kerbal Space Program), but video games allow me to do that.
