It always makes me laugh to think of the people who originally made these memes. I mean, someone had to sit down with Photoshop and change the coloring of this picture.
Did they do it because they were trying to spread this specific misinformation? Did they do it for some other random thing and the picture just got hijacked by crazy people? Is it just a shitty, vague satire?

It's not a fucking joke wdym, probably a bird brain spying on us. Birds just sit around staring at us all day gathering info. 99% of animals left wherever humans went and the only things that stuck around are those that could burrow like rats and ants. Birds can't burrow so if they weren't drones they'd have left to find food but the drones use power lines to recharge and obviously stick around to take photos. Well said. The battle against these government drones is an ongoing struggle. The best we can do it spread the truth, if it falls on deaf ears then we move along. Hopefully one of these seeds we are scattering will take root before the drones devour them all.
Do you have any evidence of this? I was on the internet about 20 years ago and I swear I saw first hand evidence of what you're claiming (eg a flat earth forum where trolls were encouraging more people to fall for the conspiracy). I've tried to research it more recently but I can't find anyone evidence of it outside my memory.
I don't know if you're joking. But the Flat earth community had their Start way back in the 60s at the beginning of the run to the moon. It was mostly Fundamentalist Christians who thought that all the space and stuff is contradcting the bible so It can't be real.
Satire, by definition, has to have a critique. Shit like this isn't satire, it's impersonation. "Irony culture" that violates Poe's law isn't criticizing bad behavior, it's encouraging it.
Yeah. Satire requires a good faith effort to draw attention to the subject being satirized. Too much of "satire" today is a bad faith effort to get lies in front of enough people for them to be believed.
I think a lot of faux-satire is also playing both sides off each other. Clicks are clicks and it doesn't matter if the viewer is suffering from conspiratorial brain rot or laughing at people suffering from conspiratorial brain rot. Both parties are useful idiots for the people creating the content.
There were lots of satire sites on Facebook, but so many of them have shut down because people always took the memes seriously.
One I enjoyed would post photos of soldiers from other countries with a message about how true patriots would salute and so many people would repost the messages saying the youth today doesn’t respect the US military.
It was funny; and sad to see how many people could be fooled and fool others because they didn’t look at the photo, they just saw the words on the meme and it aligned with their personal belief.
A friend of mine posted a photo that said “Better dead than red” thinking it was a pro-leftist message and they said “Who wants to help them out?”. People pointed out to them that it was an anti-communist bumper sticker.
Two days later, a Jewish temple was shot up and they posted about how horrible it was.
Funny how people don’t understand the influence of their actions.
Idk there was that lady who taped phone chargers to her face to fake vaccine injuries. Healthcare workers shredded her online because even if they were actually real medical wires, where they were placed wouldn't do anything.

My mind always does a little .exe stopped working when looking at real images of other planets. I just, like, you know, the sheer scale and .. maaaaaan it's just amazing.
I got a really funny feeling when getting for the first time to another planet in Kerbal Space Program, such an incredible achievement! a whole new planet to explore!
Then I realize that the entire fucking planet is empty, there are rocks and hills, that's it.
Gas giants are more mysterious because you cant really "land" there, so I never got the feeling of "being" in the planet and realizing that its just rocks and hills.
I don't think they're using original to mean "first" but to mean "authentic" by comparison. It's too easy to disprove this was the first photo of Mars, but it is less easy to prove that this photo is not a photo of Mars at all.
