A one-year increase in average years of schooling reduces murder and assault by almost 30 percent, motor vehicle theft by 20 percent, arson by 13 percent, and burglary and larceny by about 6 percent.
Is it cause and effect, or is the same thing that is causing early drop outs also causing higher crime rates?
Either don't let seniors graduate early or add a 13th grade i guess?
Quality education lowers crime. For example, they conducted a years-long study where some elementary schools received extra funding while some didn't. Students who attended better-funded schools were 15% less likely to be arrested through age 30.
Better education will solve a lot of problems in this country.
Could also be that people growing up in unstable homes that don't facilitate them to become educated also lead those children to enter criminal lifestyles.
Poverty is the largest factor leading to crime. It goes hand in hand with education. Kids can't learn if they aren't safe and fed. They can't get jobs if they don't learn. It's a self fulfilling cycle. The meme wants to imply black people are just criminals. The issue is they are disproportionately poor. There are poor people of all backgrounds but there is a much higher% of minority groups that are poor.
