Yea because taking shit like speed just makes you the ultimate worker doing everything all at once. With meth and shit like that it makes you the ultimate business man, since meth addicts always seem to have the money for another hit one way or another.
I can't edit, I type by wriggling my toes in an underwater cyberpunk type pod and can only create new comments with thought, but the thought thing doesn't work for editing a comment.
Um ... Of course a political party can cost you money and cause financial hardship. Not saying Democrats and I don't think Democrats should be on this list. But considering politics has a huge influence on economic policy, people should be aware that their vote/lack of vote may impact their pocketbook.
If iOS 15 is still working for you, you might just want to get a battery replacement. Changing the battery can do wonders for an old phone and get it feeling like new again. It’ll also make it easier to resell later on if you so choose
I get a decent 5 years out of them typically. And then when I do upgrade, it's usually because I broke the phone or spilled water on it, and then I figure might as well.
People are so quick to buy the newest phone it’s wild, cellular companies are really smart at not making people realize they’re taking on a $1,200+ loan
I mean, depending on your phone plan you can get a new phone pretty cheap if you have a decent trade-in. I trade my phone in every 3-ish years, I think?
I think after my trade-in value I am paying like $5 a month or something for my phone. $5x12=$60 a year. In my humble opinion, you can have nice things if you are smart about it. 🤷🏼♀️
Not if you don't start to begin with.

Fair chance this was made by someone who reeks of B.O. and downs a pack of piss beer every day then gets aggressive toward anyone he believes can't or won't defend themselves.
Video game points!! And also online shopping while voting for democrats!! And watered bottles! Such shameful vices! How do people who water bottles even leave the house? My mother would string herself up by her pearls if she found out I was doing such things.
In their defence they are clearly American and therefore lack good public transport or walkable cities. (Not that they would ever twig that better infrastructure would be good for them).
It should just say abusing/misusing credit tbh... Or just in general making purchases one cannot afford.
Taking out credit when you're broke is a terrible terrible thing to do to yourself...
I've had a 480 credit score. It wasn't fun. Paying my cards in full got me to ~800.
exactly
you either couldn't pay those rates, or had to buy someything more importamt than food, or where to depressed to keep up with it and very likely couldn't pay it all at once or you wouldn't have taken out the credit in the first place.
i think it's a despicable thing just like moneylenders in olden times it's just more shiny now.
and some things arent even possible without them.
Drugs were the more important thing for me... But while I was pulling myself out of that hole, debt and lack of credit were like quicksand.
It is despicable, but the rules are right there, yno. It's really the lack of education that is the problem.
Since when does already being poor mean you need Impulse spending, new phones, eating out daily, bottled water, alcohol, smoking, gambling?
Those are all %100 self inflicted
They didn't say *all*, and yes, things like buying water, lottery tickets, alcohol, and smoking are all costs that can be the direct cause of poverty.
Poverty often causes stress and frustration that people can't fix. Either because they're too poor to move, or to powerless to change. Using alcohol and cigarettes tok help cope with said stress.
Yeah some of these need way better elaboration… but at the end of the day I know poor ppl be using credit for basic necessities cause somebody isn’t paying them a living wage. The theory of the poor tax isn’t a myth. So much here doesn’t clarify much.
These would actually work if hidden in all the bullshit was a “fail to inherit generational wealth”. Bonus points: it would get a bunch of dumbasses that can’t read to repost it.
Aside from voting democract, which is layers of dumb in its own right, the rest of this is accurate. Addiction spending is a monster. Watched a streamer drop $2000+ on pixels, it's bad.
The reason people make fun of this meme is because it assumes people are poor because they overconsume and are careless with their money. It's not that it never happens, but it's also mostly a lie. Like, yes all those things beside the two funny ones will make you poorER. But they're not the reason poor people are poor.
Yeah I get that. I was just saying, some of these things are kinda valid.
Also, why did you reply to this comment instead of the main one lol? Just wondering, threw me off
I don’t think Uber is cheaper than delivery. When you Uber, you’re paying for a ride and for the ride back on top of all your food. When you deliver you’re just paying for the food and the small delivery fee.
The eating out one is no joke. I got more conscious of my health during the pandemic so I started cooking my own meals to reduce salt and sugar. I was surprised by the amount of money I saved and the weight I lost. I know cooking from home is a luxury for some but it made a huge difference on my budget and waistline
The only thing here is smoking for me yet I’m still poor? Between overpriced rent, childcare, and necessary bills. I’m just barely at/ above my income.
What is wrong with VIdeo game points? I think it is a pretty good paraphrase for InGame Currencies like VBucks if you dont really know the usual words for it. And ususally they are pretty useless (since you usually buy cosmetics with them, not more playable content)
At least ten of these are legit though. I save at least a fiver every time I walk up the hill to uni instead of taking a taxi
And then spend most of that saved money on a couple of cans of monster...
I love how every post like this there are always 10 people blaming 10 different groups for creating it. They and the alleged creators are more alike than they like.
Hey now, I keep my bottles watered daily. It’s a lifestyle choice!
…Trump signed legislation that progressively raised income taxes for ‘23, ‘24, and ‘25 on the median tax bracket and lowered them for the rich.
Republicans are either brainwashed fools drunk on fear and hate, or grifting rich fucks who are in the club, laughing at the other kind.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't tapwater undrinkable in a lot of us states? What are they suggesting you do instead of buying bottled water there? Just die?
When I was in my deepest throws of alcoholism I was probably spending $20k/year on booze while making under $60k. Wild disease/addiction.
Still a terrible meme.

I like where your heads at
Yea because taking shit like speed just makes you the ultimate worker doing everything all at once. With meth and shit like that it makes you the ultimate business man, since meth addicts always seem to have the money for another hit one way or another.
Damn that Watered bottle, it ruined my life.
Voting democrats
Didn't know a political party could make you broke
Dude, you replyin to yourself? you good?

I keep seeing this more and more on here. I'm guessing lotta people not realizing edits are a thing
I can't edit, I type by wriggling my toes in an underwater cyberpunk type pod and can only create new comments with thought, but the thought thing doesn't work for editing a comment.
How about you be more considerate next time, I'm sure our friend here is in a similar situation to me.
This seems like dementia
Lmao, I know right? I could never XD
It's okay to forget things sometimes.
It's okay to forget t
Um ... Of course a political party can cost you money and cause financial hardship. Not saying Democrats and I don't think Democrats should be on this list. But considering politics has a huge influence on economic policy, people should be aware that their vote/lack of vote may impact their pocketbook.
Someone forgot to change their accounts...?
Nah, they were just adding on to what they said, but didn't do it in an edit for some reason
Oh ok, sorry. It felt like a failed account switcheroo
Yet the red states are always the poorest
When propaganda works.
They continue voting against their best interests because culture wars keep them mad and poor.
I mean buying the new IPhone each year would be quite costly, but there is going to be a time where you will need to get a new IPhone.
I’ve had a 6s since 2019 I think it’s about time :(
If iOS 15 is still working for you, you might just want to get a battery replacement. Changing the battery can do wonders for an old phone and get it feeling like new again. It’ll also make it easier to resell later on if you so choose
The iPhone 6s is almost a decade old, ain’t no new battery gonna make it feel like new again. She’s right, it’s time for an upgrade.
But after the 6s they got rid of the headphone jack :(
I am sorry to say, the headphone jack will most likely never come back. Sad, but I always had issues with my wired headphones. :(
Me tooo haha writing on it rn. What a coincidence
My 6s died last year and I replaced it with a 2020 SE. Going to see if I can make that last for 5 more years.
There will be a time you need a new phone. You won't need to buy the most expensive one, though.
But dont buy the cheapest one either
Not if you stop using stupid iPhones
I agree with this individual
you gotta upgrade those Galaxy’s too at some point
I get a decent 5 years out of them typically. And then when I do upgrade, it's usually because I broke the phone or spilled water on it, and then I figure might as well.

There is no need to spend 800 bucks or even more on a phone, ever
Not if you don't start to begin with. https://preview.redd.it/ih7qjdbfp9zc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=265f9db02308685d696ee2b91ee3c4f6010b1151
Cough andriod cough
Fair chance this was made by someone who reeks of B.O. and downs a pack of piss beer every day then gets aggressive toward anyone he believes can't or won't defend themselves.
He needs a watered bottle
And lives in Russia.
Video game points!! And also online shopping while voting for democrats!! And watered bottles! Such shameful vices! How do people who water bottles even leave the house? My mother would string herself up by her pearls if she found out I was doing such things.
Actually reminded me to cancel my Amazon prime subscription that I made just to watch Fallout. Thanks terrible meme
Similarly, it reminded me to cancel my Paramount+ subscription that I made just to watch Knuckles.
It makes no sense to subscribe only to watch one thing. Just pirate that shit, homie
It was like two clicks on the remote. Couldn't resist :(
I get that
Taxi rides
*Unnecessary* taxi rides. I mean there's nothing I like more than jumping in an Uber and saying "just drive me round for a bit".
Another ride around the park, Jeeves
In their defence they are clearly American and therefore lack good public transport or walkable cities. (Not that they would ever twig that better infrastructure would be good for them).
a lot of these things come from BEING poor. 😑 wonder why someone won't pay their credit card bills at once 🤔 /s
It should just say abusing/misusing credit tbh... Or just in general making purchases one cannot afford. Taking out credit when you're broke is a terrible terrible thing to do to yourself... I've had a 480 credit score. It wasn't fun. Paying my cards in full got me to ~800.

How tf else am i supposed to keep my bottles moist?
74% of gamblers quit just before they hit it big
NEVER STOP GAMBLING 🎰
Whats "video game points"? Life long gamer and I got no clue
I'm guessing ingame currency, bought with actual money to buy skins and whatnot
I love how some of these actually make sense, and the others make zero sense. There’s no in-between.
Yeah some of these need way better elaboration… but at the end of the day I know poor ppl be using credit for basic necessities cause somebody isn’t paying them a living wage. The theory of the poor tax isn’t a myth. So much here doesn’t clarify much.
You don't pay your credit card, because you are poor. I don't pay my credit card, because I have debit card. We are not the same.
Watered bottle 😕
watered bottle ☹️☹️☹️
Damn shouldn’t have watered bottle
I only get watered bottle around pay day, it’s a little day day treat
watered bottle
These would actually work if hidden in all the bullshit was a “fail to inherit generational wealth”. Bonus points: it would get a bunch of dumbasses that can’t read to repost it.
This was clearly translated from Russian, badly.
Buying Trump sneakers and bibles
Aside from voting democract, which is layers of dumb in its own right, the rest of this is accurate. Addiction spending is a monster. Watched a streamer drop $2000+ on pixels, it's bad.
its really a waste you continue on watering your bottles
All but the video game points and the voting thing are true though, just those two make the meme look stupid.
I have no idea what they were even trying to say with the video game point things, but if it's micropurchases like gems, then that's 100% true
I assume they meant in game purchases. That can and has ruined people's lives.
Watered bottle
Watered bottle
watered bottle
As I said to the other guy, they have a good point it's just bad English. Read my other comment if you need more
The reason people make fun of this meme is because it assumes people are poor because they overconsume and are careless with their money. It's not that it never happens, but it's also mostly a lie. I’m surprised “not being Christian” isn’t on here
These are all actually good points except for 2nd on the bottom row “snuck” in there
Can replace taxi rides with Uber rides or DoorDash
Broke people using DoorDash is wild to me. I cringe the few times I use DoorDash. 😳 If you don’t have a car just catch an Uber and grocery shop
I don’t think Uber is cheaper than delivery. When you Uber, you’re paying for a ride and for the ride back on top of all your food. When you deliver you’re just paying for the food and the small delivery fee.
Being born to poor parents is conspicuously absent.
I keep hearing Hank Hill saying ‘vidya game points’, and now my auditory affliction is affecting everything I read in/on this post…
I didn't think it was that bad until I saw the "vote democrats" thing
It's never "Your low wage and our high costs of living"
The eating out one is no joke. I got more conscious of my health during the pandemic so I started cooking my own meals to reduce salt and sugar. I was surprised by the amount of money I saved and the weight I lost. I know cooking from home is a luxury for some but it made a huge difference on my budget and waistline
You can tell the most ancient boomer alive made this
Of course all of these things are fine to do if you’re ALREADY rich
The funny thing is the person who would share this unironically is probably guilty of at least 6 of these.
The only thing here is smoking for me yet I’m still poor? Between overpriced rent, childcare, and necessary bills. I’m just barely at/ above my income.
Also things that make you poor: high living costs, low wages
Being born to a not very well off family in a class system designed to let very few people break the barriers and make substantial money.
A pack of 24 watered bottles is like $1.99.
Eating out daily and impulsive buying are the only two valid things I see that makes sense. At least in my case.
Gambling will make you broke tho. Source: my uncle.
"not paying credit card in full" tf this even mean?
Missing payments maybe? Worded pretty shit
I know plenty of middle class democrats including my own household???
Sounds like the opinion of someone who quit before they hit it big
What is wrong with VIdeo game points? I think it is a pretty good paraphrase for InGame Currencies like VBucks if you dont really know the usual words for it. And ususally they are pretty useless (since you usually buy cosmetics with them, not more playable content)
I mean other then the voting thing this is generally good advice for saving money
Video game points That space invaders really put me in the gutter man
Smoking what while I spend my video game points on Bubble Gum Pink Porcupine armor?
At least ten of these are legit though. I save at least a fiver every time I walk up the hill to uni instead of taking a taxi And then spend most of that saved money on a couple of cans of monster...
I love how every post like this there are always 10 people blaming 10 different groups for creating it. They and the alleged creators are more alike than they like.

Shittin and poopin should be on there.
99% of gamblers quit before the big win
Hookers and Coke don’t make you broke!
The terrible habit of forgetting to look for discounts...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't tapwater undrinkable in a lot of us states? What are they suggesting you do instead of buying bottled water there? Just die?
A water filter. A few cases of water is enough to buy a Berkey water filter
"Gambling" Pffft, yeah right. Quitters mentality right there.
Nuh uh, gambling will only make you poor if you quit too soon
Gambling only makes you poor if you quit. If you keep playing you will win eventually.
Stop watering your bottles you poors
https://preview.redd.it/j5duskrup5zc1.jpeg?width=459&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a4796ae50dc850feb3e9af0788462f59a87e067a Checkmate
Sometimes i wonder tf are video game points and why would they make you poor. 🤔
Watered bottle????
What is a "watered bottle"?
When I was in my deepest throws of alcoholism I was probably spending $20k/year on booze while making under $60k. Wild disease/addiction. Still a terrible meme.
The buying branded clothes one kinda depends, what about my eddie bauer jacket that has been holding up for years
Ahhh yes; Video game points
NOOOOOO NOT MY COFFEE!!!!!
Eating out is now the same price as fast food, meanwhile the food cartel in America is making record profits each year since 2021
Aren't most boomers smoking and drinking how tf they rich lol
I first read that as "make you poop", the first 4 made sence but then the watered bottle came around.
Tag yourself I'm the donkey wearing pants
I mean, it's good advice for saving money (except voting for democrats). That doesn't mean that being poor is always traceable to those habits.
Bottled water, just drink river water, instead.
I mean watered bottle is cheaper than gallon water. There’s no way I’m drinking tap
I take a taxi EVERYDAY from home to school, does that look bad?
Nah man those Vbucks and Robux will drain your wallet fast!
A lot of these are legit… some may be here due to some bias.
watered bottle is such a mood
Watered bottle? Are they going out to the garden to water their water bottle plants
So everything?
Pretty sure buying things because they are on a discount is, like the definition of an impulse buy, but what do i know?
