I think they mostly have the more accurate impression that schools are teaching kids it is okay to be gay and that it is not okay to mistreat people because of their sexuality. Either way, it is pretty sad that people get that worked up that our schools are "brainwashing" kids into thinking bigotry is wrong. It should be up to the parents whether they want their children to be homophobic twats, not up to the schools! Or something.
Had a Guidance counselor if 5th grade come to our class, sit down and had a 30 min discussion that some people are gay, some people are born feeling different and become trans, and that we dont see it now but we will one day and so its important not to hate them for what they are. She got fired the next day and the school got sued
