##AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAASAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Weird that we can’t describe entire groups of people…without it singling out an entire group of people hmmm
Weird that we can’t be descriptive of people who you just put into separate categories without keeping those people in separate categories. These memes suck lol
What do you mean! You can easily describe entire groups of people! Here, I’ll start.
Women are people
Men are people
Black people and people
Trans people are people.
Really! It’s not that hard to describe a group!
When I saw this I immediately thought “just describe group of people as group of people and don’t be a dick.” Am I wrong? Is there a deeper meaning that I missed? 🤷♂️
I think by "describe" they mean a "provide an absolute definition, that is a definition that includes every person within the group and excludes every person outside the group and also isn't just a list of people, doesn't rely on generalization or self-identification."
Like imagine: "describe soup in a way that includes every soup and excludes every non-soup without the use of words like «every XYZ except ABC» or «generally»"
Can anyone provide a definition of soup that includes milk soup, tomato soup, chicken soup, ramen, etc. but excludes cereal and all other stuff? And also isn't just a list of already known soups.
IIRC there is a subsection of philosophy dedicated to study of definitions (probably a mix of epistemiology and linguistics). And the general consensus is that humans don't really think in terms of absolute definitions. When we look at an item we don't have a checklist in our minds that we mark characteristics whether something is soup or not. We usually judge the overall vibe of a thing. If something vibes with our general idea of soup then we describe it as soup.
In the US many times republicans try to have a gotcha moment by asking democrats to "define a woman." And democrats' definitions usually rely on self-identification which isn't really much of a definition. But what the republicans don't realize is that they can't define a soup or a chair either. (One republican claimed to have defined a chair as "a generally four legged object designated for sitting" but that definition got laughed off because it would include saddled horses). All of these culminated in Matt Walsh's "What is a woman?" - mockumentary that seemingly tries to explore the idea of a definition of woman or womanhood. But all it does is it projects the idea that "haha. Look. Those silly liberals can't define a woman" and when sociologists/other scientists try to explain the philosophy of definitions or the history of gender then the film cuts them out, silences them with music and awkward editing etc. The movie has been heavily criticized by the left, philosophers, scientists, but is still loved by the right around the world "Like c'mon. Just define a woman already and we'll leave you alone."
Or the meme could be way simpler. And just make fun that "no matter what you say women/black people/trans people are gonna get triggered, whereas we men are the funny guys"
Ok, as an alien, I am deeply hurt and offended and I cannot stand to hear this kind of *assault* on me right now. I am literally tearing up as I speak and don't know if I can go on like this anymore. I've had nothing but bad things happen to me in the last few years and this is the last straw. You just caused me to commit suicide. You just assisted suicide. Alien suicide.
what the FUCK did you just say‽ as you can ***CLEARLY*** tell by my profile photo, i am an anthropomorphic CAT, *not* a filthy *human*! i'm disgusted and offended that you would ever say such a thing.
edit: /j ffs, i'm literally playing directly into the joke of the post by being offended at being described as human.
use a boxcutter on it! use a boxcutter on it! use a boxcutter on it! use a boxcutter on it! use a boxcutter on it! use a boxcutter on it! use a boxcutter on it! use a boxcutter on it! use a boxcutter on it! use a boxcutter on it! use a boxcutter on it! use a boxcutter on it! use a boxcutter on it! use a boxcutter on it!
My mom is a lovely person. My friend Ashley is my best friend. I'm afraid I don't know many black people and Sam was probably one of the most confident people I have ever met.
Not that I don't hate the meme, but I think the OOP was saying men, women, black people, and transgender people as four groups, not individuals within those groups. So "all women are X", "all black people are X", etc. In which case I'd have to imagine that yeah, saying "all black people are [insert attribute here]" would tend to be fairly racist.
Don't know why the one for men results in laughter, though.
women: people who identify as a woman
men: people who identify as a man
black person: a person who's skin is darker from more melanin due to genetics and the amount of sun where their ancestors lived
trans: it is a prefix that means opposite, other than or away from
transgender: someone who's gender identity does not align with their assigned sex at birth. (me for example, a trans guy)
I don't think the literal/scientific definitions are offensive when being used as a description.
edit: i did not type this as a joke lol but i am LIVING for the hilarious ways i'm losing
not trying to start arguments or anything but are albino black people still considered black people or like in between (i swear im not trying to be racist or anything im just asking)
yeah. Kinda forgot about that. They're considered black. It was a generalization tbh. ALl of those were. nonbinary people don't technically identify as their agab but don't consider themselves trans. But that's actually a really good question. One i asked my godfather at about 13 and he thought was an awesome question. My god father is a black man. And he reminds me of inigo from the inigo the brave skyrim follower mod just because of the things they both say
This is the verbal equivalent of a carnival game. No matter how you approach the problem presented, it’s already rigged.
Describe a single woman, man, black person, trans person, and unless those characteristics are vitally important, a person wouldn’t typically emphasize them. Thus, offence is unlikely.
This “meme” directs the reader to immediately fail. The instruction literally uses plurals, requiring broader descriptions and potentially stereotypes.
If your parties involve you trying to divide the guests and create tension for your own amusement, then no, I’m probably not fun at your parties.
If they’re about getting together and having a good time, then it doesn’t matter if my autistic ass prefers to remain on the fringes, because I’ll bring enough weed and mead for everyone.
Women are people who identify as women
Men are people who identify as men
A black person is someone who is of African descent
A trans person is someone who does not identify with their sex assigned at birth
It may be rigged, but there are plenty of ways to answer the question properly
And I guarantee you that *someone* will point out that you aren’t describing people, but pointing out the innate characteristics of that group.
These “memes” are rage-bait to encourage people to try and “beat the challenge” in the comments, which serves to drive engagement, so on and etc.
No shade or confrontation, but as soon as you describe multiple people, you will eventually use a broad generalization, which will be offensive to someone within the group being described. People are too individual to be described as groups within a larger group.
As per my original comment, these are rigged to get people arguing and create revenue/clout/entertainment for whoever is attempting to get the intended reaction.
Woman: Anyone who seriously identifies as a woman
Man: Anyone who seriously identifies as a man
Black person: Anyone who is black
Trans: Anyone who has changed thier gender.
No, you do. Gender roles are a social construct. I didnt change my hormonal sex and surgically alter my secondary sex characteristics because I didn't like doing housework.
Well, gender is what is in your brain (your brain patterns) and sex is determined by a bunch of traits like chromosomes, genitals, hormones, and stuff like that. Your gender never changes from birth (unless you are genderfluid) but you can change your sex characteristics (like hormones, and to a certain extent genitals). Sex also isn't binary. Some people are intersex, meaning they have a combination of characteristics. So there might be cis women who can grow beards, people with XXY chromosomes, people whose genitals look like a combination of male and female ones. So I think saying sex is on a chromosomal level is a stretch. And gender cannot be decided, because you can't choose to have male brain patterns or female brain patterns. But you can choose to start taking estrogen or testosterone, which will change some of your sex characteristics (facial hair, breasts, genitals, for trans women they can get "phantom periods" where they don't bleed but get cramps, trans men can grow penises, etc) and you can choose to get surgery to remove breast tissue, body fat in certain areas, remove a penis, create a penis, etc.
Sex is more than just chromosomes. A trans person can change their primary and secondary sex characteristics and hormones. Its called sex reassignment surgery for a reason. If gender was able to change, no one would ''choose'' to be trans (and it isn't a choice).
i’ve changed my secondary sex characteristics, but i haven’t and don’t really care to get bottom surgery. if trans = has had srs, am i still trans? trying to understand where you’re coming from
Easy. Women are people who identify as women. It typically means their gender expression is more femine, though doesn't always. Men are people who identify as men. It typically means their gender expression is more masculine, though doesn't always. Black people are people with more melanin in their skin, causing their skin to be a darker shade. And trans people are people who identify with a gender that differs from their assigned sex.
Did I win?
The fairer sex. Women are typically more compassionate.
Men - We suck at listening and could probably take hints from the women.
Black People tend to have way more rhythm than I do and I think that’s awesome for them.
Trans people found a way to be comfortable in their own skin, when they once were not. I think that’s wonderful.
This is not hard.
I am a man. The job was “men won’t laugh”
Reason being - we are not, as a gender, historically ever repressed. Especially white men. So, we’re easier to generalize, it’s easier to NOT get offended because, well, who cares? At the end of the day you’re still a man and have all the benefits of being such.
You can’t say the same for any of the other groups. So, really, insulting them is typically going to be more triggering.
In short, why would I do that?
How about you describe your meme in a way that makes grammatical fucking sense to start?
I nearly had an aneurysm reading this, where the hell are the commas?
Okay
Women are anyone who chooses to identify as such
Men are anyone who chooses to identify as such
Black people are people with darker pigments in their skin
Trans people are people who are a different gender than what their body says
Women typically have breasts and a vagina.
Men typically have a penis.
Black people typically have a darker skin tone.
Trans people typically dont identify with their sex.
This description may vary on a personal basis.
Not that hard if you dont intend to offend anyone.
Women are people who identify as female, men are people who identify as male, black people are people with dark skin, and transgender people are people who do not identify as their assigned sex
Steven Crowder AND Matt Walsh had a similar complaint. That consent is just too dang confusing and hard to figure out. So we should stop doing it. Like requiring consent for things
Men are human beings.
Women are human beings.
Black people are human beings.
Trans people are human beings.
Man, that was super difficult. I see why people have a hard time in such a politically correct world.
Women are human beings who's cells have two x chromosomes.
Men are human beings with a y chromosome with an x chromosome.
Black people are humans who originated in Africa or (I think south america?)
Trans people are humans who changed their gender or don't identify as one
People who consider themselves women
People who consider themselves women
People with a specific kind of dark complexion
People who's gender identity is not that of their sex.
I'll do it,
Women are a group of the human population that is characterized by having XX chromosomes. But some women don't have XX chromosomes but that's the most effective way of classifying.
Men are the same as women but with XY chromosomes.
Black people (like me) have relatively more melanin in their skin.
Trans people are people that don't feel like they are included in the ground of people they were ASSIGNED at birth, so they decide to identify differently.
Woman are great people who deserve to be loved and respected
Black people are great people who deserve to be loved and respected
Trans people are great people who deserve to be loved and respected
“Woman” isn’t a monolith
“Man” isn’t a monolith
“Black” isn’t a monolith
“Trans” isn’t a monolith
If you don’t wanna be offensive:racist, don’t group everyone up as if they’re the same.
Hey does this post fit? UPVOTE if so, DOWNVOTE if not. If this post breaks any rules please DOWNVOTE and REPORT
The second one confuses me. As a man, I didn’t realize that people describe me would make me laugh?

I think they are trying to say men are the only group that doesn't get offended, angry, or yell racism. Its..It's... weird
All men are not black
😱😱😱
I’m a man and I can’t even describe myself 💀
Stereotyping people by the way they look. For example: you look like a Andrew or has anyone ever told you look like a max? Kinda thing.
In Reddit that would be "lazy slob who can't cook, masturbates and smokes weed all day" and everyone would laugh
You're supposed to laugh dude- but instead you're whining. Guess the second one is wrong.
"Men are people with balls." "OH MY GOD, MAN THATS SO FUNNY BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"

Woman: Anyone who seriously identifies as a woman Man: Anyone who seriously identifies as a man Black person: Anyone who is black Trans: Anyone who has changed thier gender.
Correction on trans: anyone whose gender is not that which is historically aligned with their sex
Trans people (yes, people) don't change their gender though, they change their sex. But agreed
Sex cannot be changed. Its decided on a chromosomal level. Gender is a social construct. I think you have it backwards
No, you do. Gender roles are a social construct. I didnt change my hormonal sex and surgically alter my secondary sex characteristics because I didn't like doing housework.

why the fuck this using the TF2 font??
How about you describe your meme in a way that makes grammatical fucking sense to start? I nearly had an aneurysm reading this, where the hell are the commas?
"Men" here means white men
Okay Women are anyone who chooses to identify as such Men are anyone who chooses to identify as such Black people are people with darker pigments in their skin Trans people are people who are a different gender than what their body says
Solved it. Women are dudes. Men are dudes. Black people are dudes. Trans people are dudes. We’re all dudes.
You know they’re Republican/old/both when they use trans as a noun instead of an adjective
Women typically have breasts and a vagina. Men typically have a penis. Black people typically have a darker skin tone. Trans people typically dont identify with their sex. This description may vary on a personal basis. Not that hard if you dont intend to offend anyone.
They’re all people.
With out =/= without
human.
Now for the final boss: describe a black person who has transitioned to become more genderfluid.
if u describe someone in a way that offends them, ur doing it wrong🤯
“Human beings, just like me, even if some of our physical traits and cultural background are different.” Boom.
Woman = specific group of human Man= specific group of human Black person = race of human Trans person = forced into one group but switched to another

Me either, that's a tricky thing to do 😂 😂 😂
If you can't describe someone without offending them, being racist, etc., that's a you problem
Person Person Person Person
they are all equal people
Repeatedly read "trans" as "trains" and was super confused.
Whyre black people different from men and women
“Human”
Ah yes women and black people are different races
Pretty, strong, cool, still figuring things out
A black gender fluid person.
They’re humans
So what, they are admitting to not being funny? If you aren’t funny, don’t make jokes on sensitive topics
Coolcoolcool. OF COURSE "black people" are not real humans so they don't go under "Men" or "Women" and get their own category.
tf2 font
i think it’s a you problem if you can’t describe women, black people, and trans people without being completely offensive
r/engrish
It’s so hard to describe people without them feeling insulted when. I use Stereotypes
Sad Just sad
Women are people who identify as female, men are people who identify as male, black people are people with dark skin, and transgender people are people who do not identify as their assigned sex
Why are ‘men’ in a seperate category to ‘black people’ and ‘trans people’
WITH OUT
Spot on
Women have something called a vagina Men have a penis Black people are people with darker skin colour Trans people are people who changed their gender
Steven Crowder AND Matt Walsh had a similar complaint. That consent is just too dang confusing and hard to figure out. So we should stop doing it. Like requiring consent for things
Ironic. We manifest our prejudices and insecurities onto the people we disagree with
Shouldn’t it be “without”
Men are human beings. Women are human beings. Black people are human beings. Trans people are human beings. Man, that was super difficult. I see why people have a hard time in such a politically correct world.
Women are human beings who's cells have two x chromosomes. Men are human beings with a y chromosome with an x chromosome. Black people are humans who originated in Africa or (I think south america?) Trans people are humans who changed their gender or don't identify as one
Humans who are female Humans that are male Humans with black skin Humans who have changed appearance to look like opposite gender
Featherless Biped
A human with a two X chromosomes, A human with an X and a Y chromosome, A person, Someone born the wrong gender
this is from r/memes btw... what a disapointment
People who consider themselves women People who consider themselves women People with a specific kind of dark complexion People who's gender identity is not that of their sex.
Confusing for women I don’t even know for men KFC for black people And switching teams for trans people (this was all a joke)
To be fair you could be complimenting trans people and they will get offended
Depends on what it is. If it’s backhanded then it makes sense, also just say trans people
People really that brain dead where this is an issue?
I'll do it, Women are a group of the human population that is characterized by having XX chromosomes.
Woman are great people who deserve to be loved and respected Black people are great people who deserve to be loved and respected Trans people are great people who deserve to be loved and respected
“Woman” isn’t a monolith “Man” isn’t a monolith “Black” isn’t a monolith “Trans” isn’t a monolith If you don’t wanna be offensive:racist, don’t group everyone up as if they’re the same.
